President Trump fired Hampton Dellinger, Special Counsel of the Office of Special Counsel (not to be confused with a special counsel hired as a federal prosecutor) a couple of weeks ago.
Trump appointed Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins to take over Dellinger’s job as the Special Counsel.
Shortly after the firing, Judge Amy Berman Jackson sided with Hampton Dellinger, issued an administrative stay, and allowed him to keep his job.
“Trump must allow Dellinger to continue to have “access” to the agency’s resources and cannot “recognize the authority of any other person as Special Counsel” while the order remains in effect, Jackson wrote,” according to Politico.
Amy Berman Jackson entered an administrative stay rather than a TRO which made appealing her decision tricky.
The Trump Justice Department immediately appealed Judge Jackson’s administrative stay anyway.
The DC District Circuit Court of Appeals last week dismissed Trump’s appeal of Judge Jackson’s administrative stay and kicked Dellinger’s firing back to Amy Berman Jackson.
Amy Berman Jackson granted a longer extension to fired Biden holdover Hampton Dellinger so Trump took the fight to the Supreme Court.

A top DOJ official involved in Hunter Biden’s case was removed from his post.
Trump’s Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove informed Bradley Weinsheimer that he was removed as associate deputy attorney general.
Weinsheimer worked along side anti-Trump Deep State hack former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco and ran interference on the Hunter Biden case.
A report from The New York Post suggested Weinsheimer repeatedly went over Special Counsel David Weiss and was actually in charge of the Hunter Biden tax fraud case.
According to Bloomberg Law, Weinsheimer served in the DOJ for more than 30 years. He was told to take another position in the immigration enforcement division or be fired.
Bloomberg Law reported:
Delegating such weighty tasks to political aides — both first-time DOJ employees — without a career official’s involvement is a dramatic departure from past practice.
Previous versions of the delegation order assigned many of the same powers to a career associate deputy attorney general. That person’s involvement helped insulate thorny matters affecting the department’s integrity from partisan influence and ensured that the experience of the most senior non-political official was brought to bear, former DOJ officials said.
But the most recent holder of that post, Bradley Weinsheimer, was removed from the job, several people familiar with the decision told Bloomberg Law. News reports first circulated on Weinsheimer’s demotion Jan. 27, the same day as Bove’s signature line on the order.
Transferring Weinsheimer’s portfolio to far less experienced political aides can make the department vulnerable to controversies akin to Bove’s handling of the New York Mayor Eric Adams dismissal, the former officials said.
Weinsheimer had been at the department for three decades, and his predecessors had substantial DOJ experience as well.

The top federal prosecutor overseeing criminal cases at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C., has abruptly resigned, claiming that Trump-appointed officials insisted she investigate a government contract awarded during Joe Biden’s administration and take decisive action to freeze the recipient’s assets.
Denise Cheung, the office’s now-former criminal chief, submitted her resignation on Tuesday in a letter to interim U.S. Attorney Ed Martin.
“When I started as an AUSA, I took an oath of office to support and defend the Constitution, and I have executed this duty faithfully during my tenure, which has spanned through numerous Administrations,” Cheung wrote in her email obtained by far-left CNN.
“I know that all of the AUSAs in the office continue to honor their oaths on a daily basis, just as I know that you have always conducted yourself with the utmost integrity.”
Far-left The New York Times reported, citing sources close to the situation, that Cheung stepped down in protest just a day after President Trump announced his nominee for U.S. Attorney, Ed Martin.

The top federal prosecutor who supervised criminal cases at the Washington D.C. U.S. Attorney’s office resigned on Tuesday, citing what she described as an improper demand by Trump-appointed officials to launch a criminal probe and pursue an asset freeze.
In a letter to the interim U.S. Attorney Ed Martin reviewed by Reuters, the office’s criminal chief Denise Cheung wrote that President Donald Trump’s administration had ordered her to investigate a government contract awarded during Joe Biden’s administration and pursue a freeze of the recipient’s assets.
Acting US Attorney for DC, Ed Martin, a staunch defender of constitutional rights, has been outspoken about the necessity of undoing the politically motivated January 6 prosecutions pushed by the previous administration.
Cheung, who had been with the DOJ for years, reportedly opposed Martin’s efforts to reassess the use of felony obstruction charges against January 6 defendants—a charge that the Supreme Court recently overturned.
Rather than uphold justice, Cheung appears to have chosen to walk away rather than be part of an effort to rectify the government’s politically motivated prosecution of Trump supporters.
The Gateway Pundit previously reported that acting US Attorney for DC, Ed Martin, initiated an inquiry into former US Attorney Matthew Graves’ prosecutions of more than 1,500 January 6 protestors.
Ed Martin is specifically probing Graves’ abuse of the 1512(c)(2) obstruction charge.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has promised to launch an investigation of Joe Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Joe Biden’s catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021 was a humiliating disaster that handed the country back to the Taliban, abandoned American citizens and Afghan allies, and left 13 U.S. service members dead in a suicide bombing at Kabul airport.
The administration’s poor planning led to desperate civilians clinging to departing planes, billions of dollars in U.S. military equipment falling into Taliban hands, and a chaotic retreat that emboldened Islamists across the Middle East.
Speaking to Breitbart News, Hegseth promised that he would ensure accountability against those responsible.
“We’ve already identified folks that’ll be in charge of that full investigation inside the Pentagon,” Hegseth said.
“I don’t have a timeframe on it. Sadly, we’ve already waited two-and-a-half years, three years since what occurred,” he explained. “I don’t want to wait longer, but I always want to get it right.”
He continued:
The way you establish real accountability is by establishing real fact chains — chains of events, information, what happened.
Why did it happen? Who made the decision? What was the reason they made that decision? Why did they give advice or not give advice? Why did they execute an order a certain way?
Did they speak up when they were supposed to or not? I don’t think there’s anybody that feels like there’s been an honest accounting of what happened in Afghanistan. That’s our job.
So, we’re going to drive that full investigation and get a sense of what happened. And as I stated to the workforce on Friday, I guess less than a week ago, accountability will be coming for what happened in Afghanistan, and that’s important to reestablishing trust at the Defense Department.
Last month, a bombshell report from The Wall Street Journal revealed that Joe Biden had been too “mentally fatigued” to take a phone call from the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee ahead of the withdrawal operation.
According to the Journal, Democratic Rep. Adam Smith wanted to warn Biden about the risks of proceeding with the withdrawal and share the committee’s findings about the challenges they would face.

Mysterious Explosions Rock Russian Shadow Fleet Tanker Off Italian Coast

Two explosions rocked the hull of a Maltese-flagged oil tanker hauling Russian crude oil from Algeria while it was docked at the port of Savona in northwestern Italy late last week. Investigators have not ruled out the possibility that the “two loud bangs” were caused by explosive devices, as a section of the hull appeared to be “retracted inwards.”
Italian daily newspaper il Fatto Quotidiano reported that the oil tanker Seajewel, part of the Russian shadow fleet to circumvent Western sanctions, was hit by “two loud bangs” on Friday. The crew found a section of the hull “bent inwards.”
The local outlet continued:
The Savona Public Prosecutor’s Office has already reported the matter to the Genoa DDA and does not rule out any hypothesis, from a breakdown to a collision with an explosive device.
The Seajewel incident comes just days after the Antigua-flagged oil tanker Koala experienced “three explosions” in the engine room on Sunday while docked in Ust-Luga, a port in northwest Russia. Koala is also part of Russia’s shadow fleet. The incident also comes nearly two months after the Russian cargo ship Ursa Major mysteriously sank in the Mediterranean Sea between Spain and Algeria following reports of an engine room explosion.
It raises the question of whether Western intelligence agencies or Special Forces—perhaps even private contractors—are engaged in covert operations against Russia’s shadow fleet, extending the conflict far beyond Ukraine’s borders.

Russian Air Base In Syria Hit With Overnight Drone Attack: Reports

At a tense diplomatic moment where Russia is trying to negotiate with Syria’s new rulers in order to keep a military presence at Moscow’s two longtime Russian bases on Syria’s coast, Hmeimim airbase reportedly came under drone attack overnight.
“Unidentified drones attacked a Russian-controlled air base in Syria overnight, Iran-linked media reported early Tuesday, as Moscow seeks to maintain its military presence following the ouster of its closest ally in the region,” The Moscow Times writes.

The publication cites regional publication Sabereen News: “Anti-aircraft guns inside the Russian-controlled Hmeimim air base in Syria are intercepting unidentified drones flying over the Russian base,” details the report.
The drone attack reportedly lasted for up to an hour. It was unlikely to have been the ruling Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) militants under Jolani behind the attack, but could have been any of the hundreds of jihadist groups still running around Syria.
This has included thousands of foreign fighters, such as Chechens, which would have clear motives to continue attacking the Russian presence.
There have been no reports of damage or casualties from the Russian side, or much in the way of details given.
Russian forces throughout the country had rapidly pulled back to the two bases in the wake of Bashar al-Assad’s December 8 ouster. Since then the naval base at Tartus and the Khmeimim Air Base near Latakia have seen a scramble of personnel packing up equipment, with the fate of the bases uncertain.
