Honest Reporting Canada, one of the very best media watchdogs around, sadly only on the issue of Israel in the press, but we could really use an organization like this on all of the media’s other lines of attack, did a piece on how a well known establishment media personality, Avi Lewis, pimping for Hamas in Canada’s Globe and Mail leftist propaganda outlet:

In his January 11 opinion column in The Globe and Mail, Avi Lewis entitled: “Canada has a moral obligation to support South Africa’s genocide case against Israel,” called on Canada to lend support to South Africa’s accusations against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague.
As evidence, Lewis, a member of the fringe anti-Israel pressure group Independent Jewish Voices (IJV), cited statements from a member of Israel’s Knesset or parliament, that Gaza “should be flattened” and a similar comment from an Israeli journalist.
Regardless of how irresponsible these statements may be, they do not represent Israel’s policy in the Gaza Strip, nor Israel’s actions, and not by a long shot. Israel has sent large numbers of Israeli soldiers to fight Hamas terrorists on the ground, directly in harm’s way, rather than relying on air superiority alone, which would have caused higher Palestinian civilian casualties. Israel’s decision comes at a high price: about 200 Israeli soldiers have already died fighting on the ground and thousands have been injured, and that number is sure to grow as Israel’s counter-terrorism operations continue.
Moreover, if rhetoric is evidence, it is unclear why Lewis evidently believes that isolated statements from Israeli parliamentarians are meaningful, all while entirely ignoring statements from Israel’s prime minister which explicitly laid out Israel’s respect for Gaza’s civilians.

Sometimes though, it helps to get a sense of who a journalist is and other views he holds to get a better sense of why he writes what he writes.
Below, Avi Lewis on his former 2007 CBC TV show, On The Map where he argues and degrades Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s own lived experience and views on Western civilization:
Once we get a look at how Avi treats a guest, even back in 2007, who defies the leftist narrative on the US, Islam and so on, his stance on Israel identifies him as a dialectic Jew.
In other words, uses his Jewish identity to advance a leftist agenda at the expense of Jews and the one tiny Jewish homeland.
