All things Russia Vs. Ukraine for March 25, 2022

1. Looking at the meta information on the Russia-Ukraine war

2. A short interview with Jeff Nyquist.

The main message is whatever we think or know about Western leaders, its important not to overcorrect and think of Russia as the good guy. The propaganda out of Russia has been intense and destructive for a long time and not what we may think it is. But it always encourages divisiveness and strife. It was almost certainly Russia that locked down the US pipeline across several states last year and stayed locked down till Biden suddenly changed the policy on the direct pipeline to Germany. Now we know exactly why Russia wanted that.

4. Mintpress News on Ukraine’s Propaganda war:

Caveat: Yucki, who often if not always, has a great perspective on geopolitics, had this to offer as a kind of caveat on this article: “I don’t like mintpress. It’s far left, rabidly antisemitic. That’s the slant. But the documentation is good, and here it’s superb”

WASHINGTON DC — Since the Russian offensive inside Ukraine commenced on February 24, the Ukrainian military has cultivated the image of a plucky little army standing up to the Russian Goliath. To bolster the perception of Ukrainian military mettle, Kiev has churned out a steady stream of sophisticated propaganda aimed at stirring public and official support from Western countries.

The campaign includes language guides, key messages, and hundreds of propaganda posters, some of which contain fascist imagery and even praise Neo-Nazi leaders.

Behind Ukraine’s public relations effort is an army of foreign political strategists, Washington DC lobbyists, and a network of intelligence-linked media outlets.

Ukraine’s propaganda strategy earned it praise from a NATO commander who told the Washington Post, “They are really excellent in stratcom — media, info ops, and also psy-ops.” The Post ultimately conceded that “Western officials say that while they cannot independently verify much of the information that Kyiv puts out about the evolving battlefield situation, including casualty figures for both sides, it nonetheless represents highly effective stratcom.”

Key to the propaganda effort is an international legion of public relations firms working directly with Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to wage information warfare. […]

  1. Liars that lie on both sides. The big puzzle is the sheeple who know they have been lied to by govts from time immemorial suddenly acting like govt information is trustworthy and sacrosanct.

  2. The conservative tree house – Joe Biden Just Implied the 82nd Airborne is Going into Ukraine – “You are going to see when you are there”

Joe Biden just told U.S. troops in Poland they are going into Ukraine.
Earlier today Joe Biden landed in Rzeszow, Poland, to get a firsthand look at international efforts to help some of the millions of Ukrainian refugees fleeing war in their country. While there he delivered remarks to the 82nd Airborne who are bolstering NATO’s eastern flank.

During his remarks, Joe Biden stated the troops are going to see heroic acts by the ordinary men and women of Ukraine. He directly implied the 82nd airborne unit was going into Ukraine, and stated “you are going to see when you are there.” Standing next to Biden while those statements were made, is U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. No one attempted to stop Biden from publicly saying we were sending troops into Ukraine

After making the remarks about the troops going into Ukraine, Biden went into his ideological talking points about Democracy vs Autocracy again. He’s literally completely oblivious to his own administration actions.

Almost the entirety of the Western government leadership including Scott Morrison (AU), Jacinda Ardern (NZ), Emmanuel Macron (FR), Justin Trudeau (CA) and Joe Biden have been far more authoritarian and autocratic in their COVID-19 rules, regulations and mandates than most non-western nations. It really is stunning that someone in the White House doesn’t pull him back from this talking point.

The Power of Song: Nonviolent National Culture in the Baltic Singing Revolution

The Power of Song shows how the people of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania confronted a military superpower and achieved independence in the Baltic “singing revolution.” When attacked by Soviet soldiers in public displays of violent force, singing Balts maintained faith in nonviolent political action. More than 110 choral, rock, and folk songs are translated and interpreted in poetic, cultural, and historical context.

  4. ITEM 2: I don’t believe Putin wants to go back to the previous Soviet model. If that were the case, he wouldn’t be in talks with the Ukrainians. He already stated what he wanted and it’s not Kiev. And, IMO, the only reason he’s in the Kiev area would be to split up (disperse) Ukrainian forces thus weakening their impact.
