Click through and give it a read. It almost feels like Global warming was taking too long because the public was getting hip to its nonsense and so it was losing effectiveness as a means towards global governance. So now we have a new hockey stick graph showing that Corona gonna kill everyone if we don’t act now to sacrifice all self governance and personal freedoms and individual rights.
To be clear, I am not saying this is all BS. However, when personal freedoms are taken away all of a sudden, when mayor’s of cities (see item 1) start to turn police into monitors of movements of free peoples everywhere now from Chicago to Hull Quebec to France, when advice for personal safety becomes crimes while criminals are being released from jails and police openly say they will no longer enforce the laws for property rights (as an aside, communists do not believe that personal property exists, do I have that right?), and when suddenly shutting down the whole world’s economy to save lives with no concern about the lives being lost due to the shut down, then I’m not saying this is overblown or that wrong measures are taken, or this is a commie plot but….
it is really starting to feel like it.

PS. Richard explains that the hockey stick graph is from the massive number of new testing which shows of course, more infections but does not show necessarily more disease.
Infection and disease are different things, although one can be caused by the other. But several thousand tests of healthy people or people with mild flu or cold symptoms are now showing that the lethality rate is dramatically lower than what was thought, and the Italian, Chinese and Iranian numbers may mean something other than a plague as well. It may be related to air quality and 40 years or more of lung damage from living in the most air polluted countries on Earth.

All of the regular readers know that I think this was a Chinese WMD that was released accidentally, I also think that it was intended to strike the population of specific regions and that in the other areas it is a serious danger but one that we can handle. I personally am in the high risk group but because I live in a small town in the middle of Missouri I think my chances of being exposed much less getting the virus is much lower then healthy people in other areas.

Richard, people today often listen to the press and depend on them to tell you who to vote for. I would like to have a dollar for the number of times I have heard people say “He is a prominent lawyer”, “He is an intellectual”, “He is a very wealthy man”, he would be good to vote for. Now some are saying do not vote for Ilan Omar, vote for the other Muslim woman, so now you should vote for a “good Muslim” vs Omar? I will not vote for any Muslim simply because Shari’ah states that mosque and state are not separate. What about the constitution of the USA?
Years ago a very wealthy joined a political party at the last minute and decided to run. The night of the nomination meeting, I wore a black suit and a white blouse. The room was packed and it was very warm, so I took off my suit jacket. The girls and young boys who were working there wore black pants and white blouses and shirts. I guess this rich man, I will refer to as yo yo, thought I was a worker, when he said to me “Hey, girl, get me a coffee black with sugar pronto”. I told him I was there for the meeting and if I asked someone to get me a coffee, I would say “Excuse me miss, would you PLEASE get me a coffee black, with sugar”, and I understood why he needed the sugar.
When the men seeking the nomination got up on the stage, there was the yo yo. The meeting was delayed 45 minutes, we had to wait for his daughter, who was flying in from her private school in Switzerland, on his private jet. Sweet.
He won the nomination and months later he sent his lawyers ,he did not know me from Adam, to my house to tell me I was going to be his campaign manager, “I was highly recommended”. I will not tell you what I told “his boys” he could do. After three visits to my house the yo yo got the message. He was defeated soundly in the election, by the little people.
When visiting a nursing home with another candidate years later, another rich man, said to me “This is terrible, why would anyone put their loved one in here, why would they not hire a private nurse to look after them at home? That was a long time ago before politics got really ugly. Now we elect clowns of a different variety, they get rich after they enter politics and nobody seems to question that.
We use to be taught to think for ourselves and to look at peoples actions as well as listen to what they say. Now the kids are taught to listen to authority and the media and do what they say,
Yes rich people especially those from the big cities can be nasty pieces of work that look down on the ordinary people. Living out in a small town the rich people I meet (Look up the Orscheln and Stamper families) are constantly in contact with people of all classes and generally try to be nice people.
The Orscheln family family owns the Orboco company and the Orschlen Farm and Home stores. The Stamper family owns Conagra which makes the Banquet frozen foods among other things.
Way back when they had good lawyers and the companies own themselves, the members of the families get the income from a certain number of shares of stock and that money reverts to the company when they die I don’t know if any individual member of the families are Billionaires but all of the members of the main families are worth several 10s of millions. The cadet branches are only worth 5 million or a little less. They find a good businessman in each generation and train them to take over the helm when the current leader dies.
One advantage of everyone staying home and not driving, there will be fewer traffic accidents and accidents in general, and less pressure on first responders and health care workers. That may also be part of the reasoning.
The US putting troops at the Canadian border: they may also be concerned about terrorists taking advantage of the crisis to enter the US from Canada.
I read an article by an expert on bats, I didn’t post it because the URL was so long that I don’t know if it would post. But he said that Bats carry lots of viruses and as long as they are left alone they aren’t a threat to humans. They pollinate plants, and eat tons of mosquitoes and other insects, and are generally a benefit to nature. The caves where they sleep have the perfect climate for incubation of viruses, but when they fly, their wings raise their body temperature to such a degree that it kills off many of the viruses, and that’s how they cope with them.
I live in small town as well, in BC, and up until the 19th of March there were no cases of Covid19 at the hospital or in any of the care homes here.
Thoughts early in the morning, my brain cannot cope with conspiracies, theories or otherwise at this time of the day.
