Germany: Mosque’s call to prayer joins church bells to boost morale amid COVID-19 outbreak
The Adhan, or the Islamic call to prayer, rang out from the minaret of the central mosque in Duisburg on Tuesday, joining the simultaneous ringing of church bells in the city in a move of solidarity and to boost morale amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Footage shows the central mosque of the Turkish/Islamic Union DITIB, during the symbolic calling for the evening prayer at 7 pm. The action is the first time the Adhan has been broadcasted from the mosque since its construction in 2008.
To tackle to outbreak of the virus in Germany, places of worship of various faiths have called off religious services.
In addition, the federal government announced a drastic restriction on public gatherings for an initial period of two weeks on Sunday.
Over 30,000 people are confirmed to have contracted the virus in Germany, and 157 people have died so far.

Germany needs to.create a licensure procedure including an exam and youtube voting procedure to prevent abusive chanting! I had no idea that there could be such a difference in euphony. Apostates, atheists, and others could have a light show or incense burning. Jews already have yearly Hanukkah menorah lightings. LGBTQI? have “pride parades.”
Looks like the Coronavirus pandemic is a little hyped- “never let a good crisis go to waste” (Rahm Emmanuel) and all that …
We may be at the end of the emergency rather than the beginning because of the high existing antibody rates among the general population in many countries (eg Japan, South Korea, Iceland, UK).

Here’s a hit piece on Victor Orban:
Hungary Is on the Brink of Institutional Authoritarianism
How coronavirus is bringing out the worst in some leaders.
Bill Wirtz

European nations have responded to coronavirus in varied ways.
Italy and Spain put their countries on lockdown to help deal with having the highest number of cases on the continent. Others like Germany and France have followed suit, even though Berlin seems to have a better approach, seeing fewer deaths than in other nations. The United Kingdom first attempted “herd immunity” before easing into social distancing, and finally announced a lockdown. In Central Europe, the Czech Republic was the first to impose a complete closure of all external borders, allowing no foreigners to enter and no locals to leave.
Those countries all sought balance, at least early on, between protecting their citizens and restricting freedom of movement. But even the most draconian measures don’t match what’s going on in Hungary, which is led by the right-wing party Fidesz. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has long been controversial in the European political sphere. A vocal opponent of open-door immigration policies, Orbán has stifled free speech and academic freedom, for instance by imposing a 25 percent tax on NGOs working in favor of non-EU migration (migration of EU-citizens is open and cannot be reduced or blocked by the Hungarian parliament).
Over the years, the current government has also increasingly ramped up active discrimination, for instance by only allowing Christian refugees, while refusing Muslims. The rhetoric follows suit, with statements that remind of the dark times of anti-Semitism in Europe—with regards to funding his ideological opponents, notably through George Soros, Orbán said this:
“We are fighting an enemy that is different from us. Not open, but hiding; not straightforward but crafty; not honest but base; not national but international; does not believe in working but speculates with money; does not have its own homeland but feels it owns the whole world.”
Yet we should not picture Orbán as a military dictator, because his party and policies are popular. In fact, Hungary is one of the three European countries where authoritarian populism is the most widespread (according to an index released by the European Policy Information Center last year), and Fidesz has a two-thirds majority in parliament. If Hungary is led the way it is at the moment, it is because there is public support for the regime.
That said, a vote in parliament next week could turn strong-handed political leadership into outright authoritarianism. Fidesz has proposed an open-ended extension of the current state of emergency, which would authorize the government to rule by decree until further notice. This means that parliament is suspended, that the executive rules without checks and balances, that no referendums or elections will be allowed, and that the government can censor anyone believed to spread “fake news” about the virus. With a government as paranoid as Orbán’s, we can only imagine how the interpretation of “fake news” will play out in reality. Budapest has been dismissive about any international criticism, with Zoltán Kovács, Orbán’s secretary of state for public diplomacy saying that “lives are at stake.”
Fidesz and its two-thirds majority is set to approve the measure, and the Hungarian President János Áder (also from the Fidesz party) is unlikely to oppose this extension.
Picture a vote in the U.S. Senate next week that would grant President Trump the power to rule by executive order only, suspend the 2020 election, and shut down negative reporting on him or his dealing with the crisis. Adding to that, only the Senate could lift these powers, with the interpretations over when it really ends varying, making it possible that the state of emergency becomes an emergency of the state.
With Europe in chaos over the coronavirus, the political minds are far from set on Hungary. The European Union is trying to handle its own failures of keeping its open borders policy alive, while big countries such as France and Germany are imposing draconian restrictions on movement and assembly to slow the spread of the disease. If there will eventually be a slow-down of this crisis, there might be a problematic awakening regarding the redistribution of power that has gone on in Hungary. It is likely that Orbán won’t fail to use these special long-term privileges to stifle free speech and reduce the remaining judicial checks on his now immense power.
Maybe it won’t be the Empire of Austria-Hungary once again, but it will become increasingly hard to tell the difference.

Putin has Xi’s back during the coronavirus crisis.

As COVID-19 spreads across the globe, the Chinese government has been orchestrating a soft power campaign that is intended to turn what should be an embarrassing fiasco into a public relations boon. Xi Jinping and his Politburo representatives have reached out to dozens of foreign governments, portraying the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as a world leader in a time of crisis. And another authoritarian has been willing to help Xi in this effort: Russia’s Vladimir Putin.
On the evening of March 19, Xi and Putin spoke by phone to discuss the coronavirus pandemic. According to a readout prepared by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Putin praised the “Chinese government for taking measures to not only contain the spread of the virus at home, but also contribute to safeguarding the health and safety of people across the world.” The Chinese government “has set an example for the international community” by “providing timely assistance to other countries affected by COVID-19,” Putin said. In so doing, Xi’s regime has “responded, loud and clear, to the provocation and stigmatization by some country.”
“Some country” is, of course, the United States of America.
The Trump administration and the CCP are engaged in a rhetorical battle over the Chinese government’s culpability in unleashing the deadly virus. This is just one battle of many in what Washington calls a “Great Power Competition.” Xi’s regime is trying to supplant the U.S. as the world’s preeminent power and the CCP’s initial failure to contain COVID-19 is a potential stumbling block along the way. If foreign governments see the CCP as incompetent, or even malicious, during a global health crisis, then they might be less willing to trust the Communist-capitalist hybrid power when it comes to other economic and technological issues. China wants to be seen as an effective and capable world leader—a new hegemon, albeit one that relies on Russia’s assistance.
Both Xi and Putin emphasized the close relationship between their two nations during their call. Russia “will maintain its mutual support and close cooperation with China in battling the virus and further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination between the two countries,” Putin reportedly said.
Xi praised the “mutual support, solidarity and close collaboration between China and Russia in this extraordinary fight against the virus,” saying their cooperation is “a testament to the strength of China-Russia relations in the new era.”
That “new era” is one in which the U.S. is no longer a lone superpower. Xi also emphasized that the “two sides must seize the opportunities for carrying out still more fruitful cooperation in various fields.”
Russian media outlets have done their part to bolster Xi’s COVID-19 narrative. The Russian news agency TASS reported today that China is “winning [the] battle against COVID-19,” while “offering assistance to other countries.” TASS trumpeted the aid China has delivered “to Italy, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands and Iraq,” with assistance promised to Serbia as well. China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has similarly highlighted the CCP’s COVID-19 relief assistance to these and other countries.
China’s coordination with Russia during the COVID-19 pandemic is just one example of the complex and growing relationship between the two authoritarian countries. This is an issue we will discuss more in future editions of Vital Interests—as it has profound ramifications for America’s national security.

It’s a problem, sure, but hardly surprising. “Enemy of my enemy,” and all that. Like China, Russia dislikes us because we stick our nose into their business. Don’t get me wrong, someone needs to do it – between them, they’re the headwaters for a surprising number of the world’s ills – and if not us, then who? But it is both the reason they target us, and also their most effective means of attacking us.
The thing is, everybody knows Russia and China are bastards. Yet all they have to do is point to the times the U.S. has failed to live up to our own ideals, and suddenly in people’s minds we’re somehow the same as them. Don’t ask me how that magic works, but even our own president has asked, “Are we any better?” Well, yes, actually, we are a LOT better – if you’re confused on that point, just ask Mexico and Canada if they would trade places with Ukraine or Taiwan.
Speaking of points, I should probably get to mine.
First, we need to keep it up, regardless of world opinion. Russia with its gas, and China with its tech, are like the pushers in an ’80’s after-school special – they’re your friends, and they don’t judge you or demand anything from you, not like your old friends (us) did. They just want you to be happy – here, have another free hit, and I can give you all the freebies you want… until you’re hooked. Then the smile disappears and price goes up. (Oh, and btw, I might also ask you to do me a small favor, like looking the other way while I invade Belarus, or “re-educate” a few minorities. But you wouldn’t judge me for that, because friends don’t judge, and we ARE friends, right? It’d be a real pity if Nord Stream or Huawei 5G were to suddenly develop “technical issues”. And anyway, it’s not like the high-and-mighty U.S. any better, remember?)
We have to go on trying to do the right thing, even if we get it wrong sometimes, because the alternative is living in a world of junkies.
Second, if we are going to engage in a second cold war, which is looking increasingly likely, then our primary objective – beyond containment, and who knew that word would ever make a comeback? – has GOT to be splitting those two apart. They really don’t like each other, “enemy of my enemy” or no, and they have a lot of very good reasons to mistrust each other even more than they mistrust us. (Starting with the fact that they share a continent and a border, and are probably eyeballing a lot of the same countries as part of their future hegemony.) We need to figure out how to capitalize on that.
Dunno about you, but if I have to face down two opponents, I’d much prefer a three-way standoff (though don’t ask me which one is Tuco in that scenario) than a two-on-one. I don’t know what we can do to make that happen, but I think that if we can’t, then we don’t stand a chance in the 21st century.

Senate leaders reach deal on $2T coronavirus relief package meant to bolster the economy
The White House and leaders of the Senate have struck a deal on a third major coronavirus stimulus initiative. On Wednesday morning, the Senate agreed on a $2 trillion package meant to bolster the economy during the ongoing pandemic.
The terms of the legislation include a $1,200 check for Americans who earn less than $75,000 a year. It also includes over $350 billion in loans for small businesses and would provide significant aid to hospitals across the country.
“It (stimulus package) will rush financial assistance to Americans through direct checks to households from the middle class on down, and through a significant and creative expansion of unemployment insurance during this emergency,” stated Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). “It (stimulus package) will deliver historic relief to Main Street America through hundreds of billions of dollars in emergency loans, so more small businesses can survive this and keep paying their workers.”
The specifics of the legislation are set to be released sometime Wednesday.

Mainland China lifts restrictions in virus epicenter, says economic activity to fully be restored soon
Mainland China is lifting quarantines in the province of Hubei as life gradually returns back to normal. On Tuesday, Chinese officials announced they are lifting the majority of travel and production restrictions in Hubei after a two-month lockdown.
According to Beijing, the number of new coronavirus cases continues to decline and Hubei has had zero new infections in the past week. Hubei and the city of Wuhan were the original epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak.
Despite the optimism, Chinese officials have said some of the risks posed by coronavirus still remain.
“According to the latest report of WHO, the number of confirmed cases worldwide has exceeded 300,000,” stated Mi Feng, spokesman for the Chinese Health Commission. “The risk of transmission from sporadic infections as well as those from overseas still exists; we cannot let our guard down when it comes to combating the coronavirus.”

The Squad’s attempt to socialize banking system via coronavirus stimulus
By Mitchell Gunter March 24, 2020
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has inserted herself into the negotiations on the Senate coronavirus stimulus package, and her efforts have thrown a monkey wrench into the process. House Democrats are pushing a bill titled the “Taking Responsibility for Workers and Families Act,” yet it should be retitled the “Using the Coronavirus Crisis to Push For Socialism Act.” It appears that the bill was an effort to give Senate Democrats some leverage to insert more of the Democratic wish list into the bill.
The “Squad,” led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), is pushing for an idea that will socialize our banking system. Card-carrying member of this band of Democratic Socialists Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) is pushing for her “Automatic Boost” act to be included in any stimulus package that goes to the President’s desk. The problem is this idea is the opposite of an economic stimulus for the private sector, because it substitutes the government to administer a traditional banking function.
The Pelosi stimulus bill had a version of the Tlaib idea inserted into it. The bill suspends all consumer and small business credit payments such as mortgages and student loans. This will eliminate debt but will starve the banks of needed liquidity in this time of crisis. The Pelosi draft will also suspend all negative credit reporting, thereby giving people who do have the means an excuse not to pay debts. It also will establish a new government-run bank to help with liquidity for banks and prohibits debt collection. If you marry these restrictions with the new Tlaib idea, the banks will be marginalized, and government will become the new provider of banking for a large percentage of Americans.

Thugs face years in jail after admitting stabbing nightclub doorman to death at exclusive New Year’s Eve party thrown by Lord ‘Fast Eddie’ Devonport at £12.5million Mayfair mansion (dailymail, Mar 25, 2020)
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8151723/Thugs-face-years-jail-admitting-stabbing-nightclub-doorman-death-Mayfair.html
“Three thugs who killed a doorman at an exclusive New Year’s Eve party are facing years in jail.
Tudor Simionov, 33, bled to death after he was knifed in the chest outside the £12.5million Portland Place on Park Lane in Mayfair, west London as gate-crashers demanded entry to an exclusive party hosted by Lord ‘Fast Eddie’ Davenport.
Nor Hamada, 24, Adam Khalil, 21, Haroon Akram, 26, fought savagely with security guards as they were told they could not enter before the fatal blow was landed.
The trio will be sentenced tomorrow after Hamada eventually joined the other two in pleading guilty to manslaughter.
During the trial Mr Simionov’s fiancée, 23-year-old Madalina Anghel had told the court she had ‘lost everything’ following the killing.
Trouble started on December 31, 2018 when doorman, Atu Ngoy, threw Adham El Shalakany, 24, over the bonnet of a Lamborghini when he tried to pay his way inside with two female friends.
His friends came to his aid and a fight broke out between them and the bouncers resulting in Mr Simionov’s death and five other security workers being stabbed.
Mr Simionov went outside to quell the violence and had only been on the street for less than a minute before he was killed.
Body worn police footage later showed him being tended to by El Shalakany and another man as he lay dying in one of the venue’s red-lit en suite bathrooms.
Philip Evans, QC, prosecuting, said the fast moving fracas left the doorman with unsurvivable injuries.
Footage of the brutal fight showed a knife being wielded by Ossama Hamed, 25, as Hamada fought with Mr Simionov’s colleagues.
Hamed inflicted the fatal wound before he fled the UK with Hamada, who had been out celebrating his birthday, on a ferry to Calais.
They travelled onto to Paris, then Barcelona before flying to Morocco, North Africa.
They ended up in Rabat, where Hamada received a call from his mother to say police had contacted her explaining they knew he was not the knifeman.
Hamada said: ‘I stayed with him maybe three or four days, four or five max. He was going out and I told him I was not in the mood for going out.
‘As soon as he left, I got by bag and left. I went to Tangier. He poisoned my thoughts. He was using me as a scapegoat.
‘Mr Simionov and me, had no issue. I had no quarrel with him. He was a security man doing his job at the end of the day.’
Hamada, from Wembley, north west London, was arrested at Gatwick Airport and told officers he was not a murderer.
He was convicted of violent disorder and four wounding charges, but a jury failed to reach a verdict against him on the charge of murder.
Hamada finally admitted manslaughter earlier this month.
Khalil, of Kingsbury, northwest London, and Akram, of Fulham, southwest London, also admitted manslaughter.
Ahmed Munajed, 26, of Hammersmith, west London, admitted violent disorder and was earlier jailed for two years.
El Shalakany, of Fulham, was cleared of violent disorder over his alleged role in the fighting while his then partner Shaymaa Lamrani, 27, of northwest London was acquitted of perverting the course of justice by disposing of the murder weapon.
Hamed is still on the run…”
WATCH: Scenes Resembling First World War as ‘Battle of Evros’ Between Greeks, Migrants, Turks Continues (breitbart, Mar 25, 2020)
https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2020/03/25/watch-scenes-resembling-first-world-war-as-battle-of-evros-between-greeks-migrants-turks-continues/
“Scenes resembling the First World War are unfolding are unfolding on Europe’s frontier, with Greek border forces bathed in noxious fumes as Turkish police and, allegedly, Turkish-armed migrants bombard them with tear gas.
The Islamist president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was believed to have bought the border crisis to an end by deciding that he would not keep his side of the Graeco-Turkish frontier open for illegal migrants wishing to break into Europe anymore last Wednesday, due to the risk spreading coronavirus.
However, it seems that thousands of migrants remain at the border regardless, and that Turkish personnel are continuing to support their efforts to punch through Greece’s protective fences — not least by bombarding their Greek counterparts with tear gas in social media footage which has been circulated by the Greek press.
Footage shot from the Greek side of the border and shared by Greek media outlet Proto Thema appears to show Greek personnel and army amublances bathed in noxious fumes in scenes reminiscent of the infamous gas attacks on the trenches of the First World War following one such bombardment.
The Greeks have themselves used tear gas to try and repel illegal aliens hurling rocks and petrol bombs at them, or attempting to tear down or otherwise dismantle border fencing — but recent videos show a number of migrants at the fences now appear to have been supplied with gas masks so they can sustain their attacks on the border regardless.
Turkish officials have previously claimed that at least 100,000 migrants have been released into Greece, but the Greek government disputes this, saying they have successfully held back tens of thousands and estimating the number who have made it through the land border in the hundreds.
Their task has not been made easier by the European Union’s past refusal to provide funding for robust border fences, which the bloc denounced as “pointless”.
“We are against building walls,” declared then-European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs, and Citizenship, Dimitris Avramopoulos, as recently as 2018.”

Human rights group accuses Saudi forces in Yemen of abuses (abcnews, Mar 25, 2020)
https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/human-rights-group-accuses-saudi-forces-yemen-abuses-69784216
“Saudi military forces have committed grave abuses against civilians in an eastern province of Yemen over the past year, including torture, forced disappearances and arbitrary detention, Human Rights Watch said in a report released Wednesday.
The New York-based watchdog presented chilling testimony from former detainees in Yemen’s remote eastern province of al-Mahrah, which borders Oman and Saudi Arabia. Several Yemenis told HRW they were held and tortured at a secret detention center in the provincial capital. The report documented 16 cases of arbitrary detention and at least five cases of detainees who had been “forcibly disappeared” for months, transferred illegally to neighboring Saudi Arabia.
“Saudi forces and their Yemeni allies’ serious abuses against local al-Mahra residents is another horror to add to the list of the Saudi-led coalition’s unlawful conduct in Yemen,” said Michael Page, deputy Middle East director for HRW. It’s the latest report of civilian abuse in the regional proxy war in Yemen that has killed more than 100,000 people over five years and pushed the Arab world’s poorest country to the brink of famine.
Yemen’s internationally recognized government, which is backed by Saudi Arabia, was driven from power in 2014 as the Shiite Houthi rebels captured the capital, Sanaa, and much of the country’s north. A U.S.-backed Arab military coalition launched an air offensive against the Iran-backed Houthis to restore the government. Rights groups have accused both parties of systematic rights violations, as well as war crimes.
HRW did not receive a response from the Saudi-led coalition about the alleged abuses…”

“Boko Haram extremists have killed at least 92 Chadian soldiers in the deadliest attack on the nation’s forces, Chad’s president said.
The attack took place overnight Sunday into Monday in the village of Boma in the Lac province near the border with Nigeria and Niger.
President Idriss Deby gave the toll on state television late Tuesday after visiting the site.
“Never in our history have we lost so many men at one time,” he said.
Boko Haram extremists have killed tens of thousands and forced millions from their homes during their more than decade-long insurgency. They have carried out numerous attacks in the Lake Chad region where Cameroon, Chad, Nigeria and Niger come together.
The Islamic extremist group also killed 50 Nigerian soldiers on Monday in a separate attack in Yobe state in Nigeria’s north.”

Aid group says Mideast lockdowns hinder humanitarian efforts (abcnews, Mar 25, 2020)
https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/pakistan-halts-domestic-passenger-flights-virus-69784518
“An international aid group said Wednesday that closures aimed at containing the coronavirus pandemic are preventing it from reaching 300,000 people in conflict zones across the Middle East, as the coronavirus arrived in war-torn Libya and three more cases were detected in Syria.
The Norwegian Refugee Council said it was unable to reach people in Syria, Yemen and the Gaza Strip, where authorities have imposed strict measures to halt the spread of the virus. All have fragile health care systems that could be overwhelmed by an outbreak, and only Yemen has yet to report any cases.
“While governments are taking tough and much-needed measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, millions of refugees and displaced people still depend on humanitarian assistance,” said Jan Egeland, head of the aid group.
In northwestern Syria, hundreds of thousands of people are crammed into unsanitary tent camps, sheltering from the government offensive on the war-torn country’s last rebel stronghold. On Wednesday, the U.S. urged the Syrian government to halt its campaign so those displaced can access humanitarian aid. Otherwise, it warned, the coronavirus would spread “to epic proportions.” On Wednesday, Syria’s tally of cases rose to four and testing began after weeks of obstacles in the rebel-held province.
For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms that clear up in two weeks. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness. The virus is highly contagious and can be spread by those showing no symptoms.
Countries across the Middle East have imposed sweeping measures to prevent its spread, including closing their borders, cancelling flights and in some cases imposing round-the-clock curfews…”
Afghan officials say 25 killed in Kabul attack on Sikhs (abcnews, Mar 25, 2020)
https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/gunmen-attack-sikh-religious-gathering-kabul-dead-69783876
“A lone Islamic State gunman rampaged through a Sikh house of worship in the heart of the Afghan capital, Kabul, on Wednesday, killing 25 worshippers and wounding eight, Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry said.
The gunman held many of the worshippers hostage for several hours as Afghan special forces, helped by international troops, tried to clear the building. At least one of the dead was a child.
Within hours, the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack.
As the siege ended, the Afghan special forces rescued at least 80 worshippers who had been trapped inside the Sikh house of worship, known as a Gurdwara, as the gunman lobbed grenades and fired his automatic rifle into the crowd, the ministry said.
Earlier, Afghan lawmaker Narindra Singh Khalsa said he rushed over to help after receiving a call from a person inside the Gurdwara telling him of the attack. There were about 150 people inside at the time, he said.
The SITE Intelligence Group, which tracks militant postings and groups, said IS claimed responsibility for the attack on the group’s Aamaq media arm. The communique identified the gunman as Indian national Abu Khalid al-Hindi, who carried out the attack to avenge the plight of Muslims living under severe restrictions in Indian-ruled Kashmir, Hindu India’s only Muslim dominated state.
At a Kabul hospital, Mohan Singh, who was in the Gurdwara when the attack began, said he first heard the sound of gunshots and ducked for cover under a table. Later he heard explosions, adding that he believes they were hand grenades. He was wounded when parts of the ceiling fell on him.
In photographs shared by the Interior Ministry, about a dozen children were seen being rushed out of the Gurdwara by Afghan special forces, many of them barefoot and crying.
As news of the attack first broke on Wednesday, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahed tweeted that the Taliban were not involved. Earlier this month, Afghanistan’s IS affiliate struck a gathering of minority Shiite Muslims in Kabul, killing 32 people.
Afghanistan’s National Security Adviser Hamdullah Mohib condemned the attack in a tweet while neighboring Pakistan and India both issued statements of condemnation. Pakistan described the attack as “heinous.”
“Such despicable acts have no political, religious or moral justification and must be rejected outright,” the Pakistani Foreign Ministry statement said.
India said the attack was particularly egregious coming as Afghanistan sought to deal with the growing coronavirus pandemic.
“Such cowardly attacks on the places of religious worship of the minority community,” India said, reflect the “diabolical mindset of the perpetrators and their backers.”
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) on Wednesday called for a ‘reduction of violence leading to a cease fire” by all combatants in Afghanistan
Sikhs have suffered widespread discrimination in the conservative Muslim country and have also been targeted by Islamic extremists. Under Taliban rule in the late 1990s, they were asked to identify themselves by wearing yellow armbands, but the rule was not enforced. In recent years, large numbers of Sikhs and Hindus have sought asylum in India, which has a Hindu majority and a large Sikh population.
In July 2018, a convoy of Sikhs and Hindus was attacked by an Islamic State suicide bomber as they were on their way to meet Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in the eastern city of Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province. Nineteen people were killed in that attack.
Elsewhere in Afghanistan, at least eight civilians were killed in southern Helmand province when their vehicle hit a roadside mine, said Omer Zwak, spokesman for the provincial governor. The area is under Taliban control but no one took immediate responsibility.
In a separate incident in northern Kapisa province, insurgents opened fire on a vehicle killing three civilians and a security officer, said Shahiq Shoresh Kohistani, spokesman for the provincial police chief.
Washington signed a deal with the Taliban on Feb. 29 and has begun to withdraw its troops in keeping with the agreement but it has run into trouble as Afghanistan’s political leadership battles relentlessly for power. Two presidents sit in Kabul. Even a surprise visit by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday, who threatened to withhold $1 billion in aid if they didn’t “get their act together,” could break the impasse.
With more than 137,000 Afghans returning from Iran so far this year — traveling throughout the country before being tested and without follow up — has generated concerns that the country’s already war-devastated health system could be overwhelmed.
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) on Wednesday called for a “reduction of violence leading to a cease fire” by all combatants in Afghanistan to better prepare for “the looming health crisis posed by COVID-19,” and to give a chance to intra-Afghan negotiations between warring groups.”
Egypt: Locals march through Alexandria to protest coronavirus outbreak
allahu ackbar!
While most of Egypt slept, an impromptu protest broke out in the streets of Alexandria on Monday night as the country continues its battle against the coronavirus outbreak.
Footage highlights how the night started with good intentions, locals began by joining in with prayers being blasted out via speakers across the city on their balconies.
However, shortly after this, locals began to take their prayers and chants away from their balconies and down to the streets to shout and sing against the coronavirus, despite warnings from the Ministry of Health to remain at home and maintain social distance to prevent further spread of the virus. According to reports, police broke up the demonstration and arrested several of those taking part, and the march provoked widespread derision on social media.
Egypt is currently reporting 402 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which have led to 20 deaths in the country thus far.

4 Years Later, DOJ Finally Admits There Were No Russian Colluders
AMERICAN LIBERTY REPORT
Here’s the announcement that former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein made in 2018, during the early stages of Robert Mueller’s witch hunt: “The indictment charges 13 Russian nationals and three Russian companies for committing federal crimes while seeking to interfere in the United States’ political system, including the 2016 presidential election.”
Barack Obama’s old Harvard buddy Rod Rosenstein was as giddy as a schoolgirl when he made the announcement. He could barely contain himself. Here, at long last, was the fabricated “proof” that Hillary Clinton was really his president. But just this week, the Justice Department sheepishly admitted that it was all a lie.

Islamists “God developed COVID-19 to wipe out Infidels”
“The US an Israel created the virus to target Muslims”.
last week the Islamic State newsletter stated COVID-19 pandemic as “Devine intervention intended to inflict “painful torment” against the “Crusader Nations” ( the West and Israel).
Gaza based Imam, Jamil Al-Mutawa, last Friday, preached that God started COVID-19 to kill infidels and Israelis, claiming Muslims were less impacted by the virus. “Look how anyone who schemes against the Al-Aqua Mosque is being shattered to smithereens by Sodliers of Allah”……..
Islamists State groups warn operatives to avoid Europe, to avoid contacting COVID-19. the group offers “Shari’ah guidance” on dealing with epidemics.

Should pay a visit to his “friends” who worked for Abdul Farrah al-Sisi’s

Link please?
Almost forgot my favourite Imam, the Islamist who lives in the sanctuary city of London, Ontario, the freak who calls Canadian Soldiers “war criminals”. So here is what the Canadian head of Hibtzut-Tharir, the terrorist group/ off shoot of the Muslim Brotherhood hoods has to say about the Coronavirus:
“I wasn’t going to comment on the Coronavirus pandemic, since everyone and their uncle already has already commented, but after going to the grocery store yesterday and finding them completely sold out of things like diapers and other basic things ( even Amazon is completely sold out of countless basics). There are two points that I have noticed are glaring realities in the West. The first thing is the incredible selfishness of people when they are scared, which is caused by their individualistic secular Aqeedah. People are buying everything off the shelves to protect themselves, without concern for anyone else who might need those things. but I don’t believe people are buying these things while thinking “to hell with everyone else”, rather I believe that they just simply aren’t thinking about other people; their Aqeedah and way of life does not root in them the practice thinking of others first or sacrificing for the well being of others. (( So why did we allow all the invaders into our country if we are such self-centred bastards)). Islam teaches us to think about others, often before even thinking about ourselves, In situations like the one we are in right now, we will buy the basics of what we need and leave the rest for the others who also need it, and we put our trust in Allah that there will be more when when we need the items again. The capitalist way of life creates individuals who are extremely individualist and selfish especially when fear for their safety and health (( Qur’an 8:12 Allah will terrorize unbelievers; Muslims should behead them) takes hold of their hearts and minds as they do not have any trust that Allah is involved in management of their affairs.
and this brings me to my second point, which is the absence of Tawakkul
( trust in Allah (( Qur’an 8:39 Fight unbelievers until Islam reigns supreme.)). people have little to no trust in the fact Allah is in control of the virus, and that he chooses who is infected, who is cured, and who dies, (( So why is he advising his followers to stay in their houses)) And their irrational, panicked and selfish behaviour reflects this.
it’s in times like these that the superiority of Imam ( belief in Allah) and in the guidance of Islam is demonstrated. it settles and calms our hearts during times of trouble ((1400 years of nothing but trouble)) instructs us to take sensible and balanced precautionary measures while entrusting the outcome to Allah and teaches us to think of the well-being of others as well as ourselves.
Islam also teaches us to WASH ourselves with water after USING THE WASHROOM, instead of becoming the LAUGHING STOCK OF THE WORLD for hoarding toilet paper out of fear of not knowing what to do when toilet paper runs out.”
he ends his lesson with a happy face.
Things he forgot to tell us:
Islam considers all Jahiliyyah societies unIslamic and illegal.
Shari’ah is a universal law.
The superior Muslims believe in stoning:
Killing apostates
Wife beating
Qur’an 5:33. crucify or amputate the hands and feet of those who make war against Allah and Mohammed.
Child marriage
Honour killing
Four wives
Sex slaves
Killing Jews, Christians and other minorities

The Coronavirus Pandemic: Israel Is America’s Friend In Deed
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: When President Donald Trump and other medical professionals touted the decades-old antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine as a possible means of fighting the coronavirus pandemic, the Israeli generic drug giant Teva (the most popular big pharma stock on Wall Street) immediately announced that it will provide 10 million doses of its hydroxychloroquine drug to US hospitals free of charge. Rep. Rashida Tlaib and her fellow American detractors of Israel who claim that Israel does nothing but take from the US owe Israel an apology.
The Israeli drug giant Teva has announced that 6 million doses of hydroxychloroquine will be delivered to US hospitals by March 31 and more than 4 million more will be delivered within a month. “We are committed to helping to supply as many tablets as possible as demand for this treatment accelerates, at no cost,” Teva executive vice president Brendan O’Grady said.
Teva is the world’s leading generic drug manufacturer, employing 43,000 employees around the globe. In 2018, Teva produced 120 billion tablets, with one in nine generic prescriptions in the US containing the company’s products. Despite its global position, Teva says it has a unique understanding of local markets.

UPDATE: Wicked Democrat Governor Sisolak WILL ALSO NOT ALLOW Nevadans to Prescribe Chloroquine as a Preventative Against the Coronavirus
As reported earlier by Cristina Laila — Nevada’s Governor Steve Sisolak (D) on Tuesday issued an emergency order barring the use of anti-malaria drugs such as chloroquine for Coronavirus patients.
Last week Sisolak shut down casinos and only kept open essential businesses like grocery stores and health care facilities.
In addition to barring the use of chloroquine for Coronavirus patients on Tuesday, Nevada’s governor also banned social gatherings of more than 10 people.
The Associated Press reported — The order restricting chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine came after President Donald Trump touted the medication as a treatment and falsely stated that the Food and Drug Administration had just approved the use of chloroquine to treat patients infected with coronavirus. Sisolak said in a statement that there’s no consensus among experts or Nevada doctors that the drugs can treat people with COVID-19.
Anyone who violates the order will be charged with at least a misdemeanor crime and it remains in place until April 16 (after Easter).
President Trump on Saturday expressed optimism about two drugs that he said could be “one of the biggest game changers” in medicine – hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin.

CBC – Some Toronto-area mosques remain open despite dire warnings about COVID-19
“… a Muslim is never impure and therefore it is impossible for a Muslim to impart an impurity to another Muslim…”
A group of Ontario imams and Islamic scholars are fighting an uphill battle to convince management at a handful of Toronto-area mosques to completely shutter their doors.
They say that while a majority of mosques are closed — some a whole week before Premier Doug Ford declared a province-wide state of emergency on March 17 — a few insist on remaining open.
The imams believe the refusal to close the mosques exposes an allegiance to certain foreign scholars not heeding the calls, and in the process endangering Canadian lives.
“We hate to see mosques shuttered, but our religion teaches us that we have an obligation to save lives and preserve people’s health,” said Zahir Bacchus, imam at Brampton’s Jamiat Al Ansar and a prominent member of the Canadian Council of Imams (CCI).
Bacchus said Al Ansar mosque decided to close its doors on March 13, two days after the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic.
‘Uncharted’ territory
“The COVID-19 pandemic has put Muslims in uncharted territory,” he said. “We’ve asked Muslims to pray at home, pray with their families and loved ones — just don’t come to the mosque,” he said.
“The majority of the people who worship at my mosque have accepted our decision; there has been almost no objection.”
But Brampton’s Makki Masjid is open for five daily prayers, including the Friday congregational prayers.
In a message to its members, the mosque administration said on its website that it will limit the number of worshippers to 50.
“If you arrive when more than 45 people have filled the parking lot, stay in your car and patiently wait until next jumu’a,” the statement reads. Jumu’a is the Arabic term for Friday congregational prayers.
‘A loophole in the law’
An imam at Makki Masjid, too fearful to be named, refused to support management’s decision. CBC News is not identifying him because he feared reprisals for speaking out.
“I don’t believe they comprehend the gravity of the spread of the pandemic,” the imam said. “Makki’s management held three or more prayers last Friday without the support of their Imams, believing that 50 is a loophole in the law.”
Last Friday, Toronto’s chief medical officer of health Eileen de Villa called on faith leaders across the city to urge their members to “stay home.”
In a letter posted to the city’s website, de Villa called social distancing “absolutely critical,” saying that most places of worship, a space of two metres from other members would “not be practical.”
‘Consider other options’: de Villa
“I am asking you to consider other options to provide support,” de Villa wrote in the letter.
Still, in Brampton, the AlSalam mosque is also open, pledging to restrict the number of worshippers to 50.
The Central Toronto Islamic Foundation, located on Parliament Street, issued an advisory last week announcing that five jumu’a prayers of no more than 50 worshippers at a time would be held on Friday March 20.
On a normal Friday there would be just one congregational prayer.
One imam told CBC News that when worshippers showed up last Friday at a Scarborough-area mosque and found it closed, they retreated to their apartment buildings where they turned party rooms into prayer halls.
Unregulated prayer halls
Meanwhile, Toronto-based imam Ibrahim Hindy posted the following message on his Facebook page on March 19 about an unregulated prayer hall, called a musallah.
“I was told by a trusted source that a Musallah in the GTA had two CONFIRMED cases of COVID-19. The MPP in the area called the Musallah and they agreed to shut down. But a few days later, they reopened.
“This is pure negligence that lacks both deen (religion) and intellect.”
CBC News has not independently verified the two alleged cases or at which prayer hall they may have been located.
In an email to CBC News, another imam said, “In East Scarborough, there are 6 to 7 Musallahs alone in apartment buildings and in Thorncliffe and Flemingdon where an equal number exists, they are all open.” CBC News has agreed to withhold the imam’s name because of his concerns about possible reprisals for speaking out.
Religious basis for quarantine
When the Islamic Institute of Toronto (IIT) in the city’s east-end decided to shut its doors on March 13, it based the decision on the opinion of its resident scholar, Ahmad Kutty.
Imam Kutty called on Ontario mosques to close down, arguing that the Prophet Muhammad established the principle of quarantine by separating those afflicted with a communicable disease from the healthy.
He wrote that “during the prayer itself, people stand in close proximity, shoulder to shoulder, breathing out onto the carpet during prostration, which then another person will touch and breathe in.”
On March 16, the Canadian Council of Imams called on mosques in Ontario to suspend all activities.
Professor Ingrid Mattson, the Chair of Islamic Studies at Huron University College at Western University in London and former president of the Islamic Society of North America, pleaded with Muslims to adhere to social distancing recommendations.
Allegiance to foreign scholars
But the imam at Makki mosque in Brampton told CBC News that management at his mosque don’t care “two cents” about the opinion of Canadian scholars.
“They’re taking their religious orders from scholars residing in New Delhi, India, not from reputable Canadian Imams,” he said.
“And the scholars in India have instructed them not to close down their mosques until there is an order to do so.”
“I’ve seen a video message with my own eyes from a cleric in New Delhi which who said that a Muslim is never impure and therefore it is impossible for a Muslim to impart an impurity to another Muslim,” he said.
“How can we preserve life when this sort of nonsense is being promoted in our community? There is nothing we can do about it.”

Democrat Senators Urge UN Security Council Mandates on Coronavirus Crisis
Why did the UN health agency get off to such a poor start?
March 25, 2020
Joseph Klein
President Trump is mobilizing an unprecedented all hands-on-deck response to the novel coronavirus 2019. He is using all available instruments of the federal government in order to save American lives, while not destroying the American economy in the process. Meanwhile, several Democrat senators, including Senators Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, decided to waste their time writing a letter on March 20th to President Trump urging him to turn to the United Nations Security Council for help. They asked him to introduce a “resolution to declare pandemics a threat to international peace and security, and require action by member nations to address that threat as soon as the Security Council reconvenes.”
The coronavirus is a mortal threat to life all over the world. Given its failed record on a host of issues squarely within its jurisdiction, the UN Security Council is totally useless in dealing with this health threat or its ramifications – whenever it decides to reconvene. Yet the senators writing the letter to President Trump stupidly think that the president should look to the Security Council to “establish binding commitments for UN member nations to align their health preparedness frameworks with best international practices.” Do they have China’s practices in mind?

Vince Weiguang Li was born in Dandong, People’s Republic of China, on April 30, 1968, and graduated from University of Wuhan Institute of Technology with a degree in computer science. From 1994-1998 he reportedly worked as a software engineer in Beijing, but in Canada, where Li immigrated in 2001, he worked at menial jobs, fast-food restaurants, Wal-Mart and such. Li became a Canadian citizen in 2006, and on July 30, 2008, he boarded a Greyhound bus for Winnipeg.
Li sat next to Timothy McLean, 22, returning from work at a summer fair. Li suddenly brandished a large knife and began stabbing McLean in the chest. The larger, stronger man killed McLean then cut off his head, displaying it like a trophy to terrified passengers outside the halted bus.
Li frightened off would-be heroes then reentered the bus, where he dismembered McLean and began eating his victim’s innards. Li had no gun but a heavily armed Royal Canadian Mounted Police squad did not force entry and take down the murderer. Instead they waited several hours until Li broke through a window. The “Canadian cannibal,” as headlines described him, was then subdued and arrested. Officers declined to identify the killer or the victim.

Muslim Priorities in a Dangerous Pandemic
Faith in Allah versus precautions against infection.
March 25, 2020
Anjuli Pandavar
Yesterday I popped into hospital to have a recovering wound on my leg checked. The pedestrian entrance had been blocked off, with a temporary field hospital set up right on the road. The doctors at the entrance wanted to know whether I had any of the COVID-19 symptoms. I did not, but asked them to check anyway. I’m clear. It’s safe to continue reading.
Had I still been a Muslim, this very simple no-brainer encounter with doctors would have thrown up any number of complications:
1. I might’ve objected to being asked such a question because I’m a Muslim and Allah protects me. They should ask such questions of infidels.
2. I might’ve refused to be checked, objecting that Shari’a determines that a Muslim shall not submit to an infidel.
3. I might’ve refused to be checked on the grounds that my faith is strong. As a Muslim, dying of a virus benefits me as I become a martyr and will have a good Afterlife.

Joe Biden: Coronavirus Crisis Provides An “Opportunity” To Push Green New Deal
