Both the Liberals AND the Conservative parties are penetrated by leftists and Islamic interests.

I beg you Eeyore or Vlad Please don’t start referring to moslems as islamists. That’s what Mark Levin is calling them now to differentiate from what he says are the reformed majority. There is no reformed moslem majority. These Republicans want to distance themselves from anyone who thinks Islam is not a peaceful religion. Please don’t tolerate this Bush doctrine.
I fully agree and I am torn up on the occasions where it seems like the only word to use.
I only use it when the story specifically requires it because thats the narrative in use for the story. FOr instance when discussing Salim Mansur or Daniel Pipes’ views
I actually agree with a quote that is attributed to Hillary Clinton.
“There are religious muslims and cultural muslims. The religious ones are the problem”.
Put my own way:
The degree to which a given muslim is a problem to society is 100% proportional to the degree to which they are adherent to the religion.
Maxime Bernier’s comments:

There are moderate Muslims…..but there is no moderate Islam……..
Jasser mentions “many Muslim reformers.” Where are they? Where are the Muslims who take to the streets when another girl is killed for honor, or another apostate is murdered under the Sharia? Where were all the Muslims taking to the streets after Mumbai, London, Madrid, Beslan, Bali, Times Square, Fort Hood? But they take to the streets by the hundreds of thousands, light embassies on fire, and slaughter innocents when a cartoon offends them.
Even the title of Jasser’s article, “American Islamists Find Common Cause with Pamela Geller,” plays into this false narrative. “Islamist”: what is that? What is a Christianist? A Judaist? A Hinduist?
Simply his use of the word “Islamist” here predetermines the futility of Jasser’s enterprise. It’s not Islamism, it’s Islam.
What I don’t understand is why does Dr. Salim Mansur still identify as Muslim? He doesn’t have to. It’s not his race. He can dump it. Why then doesn’t he let the rest of us in on the secret as to which part of it is ok to hang on to? You know, the part that keeps him Muslim. The slavery-condoning part? The Jew and Christian-killing part? The 72 virgins part? The parts that aren’t just like Nazism? Please tell us, Mr. Mansur, because until you educate us all on this part, I will always have that little taqiyya part whispering in my ear.

I think its the part that lets him get media attention for the same message that get the rest of us called “Nazis” if we say the same things. In fact, if you politely ask questions to him about Islamic history or scripture or current events which indicate that Islam proper is an issue, he gets downright nasty and never adresses the evidence but attacks the questioner in a variety of ways. Either their credentials to ask the question or other essentially ad hominem tactics.
Even so, he still would be one of the best MP’s on our issues if elected and we want him elected.
I understand. You see him as an asset of good intentions, not a liability. I hope you are right. But would he not do us all a great service, including the Muslim community, by showing us how he rationalizes his continued membership? In fact if he can, and with intellectual integrity intact, it would be some step towards an Islamic Reformation. Or maybe this is too ambitious a suggestion on my part, and he would simply be lost to the boiling waters of Leftist persecution, as you say.
I wonder how he would debate a scholar such as Robert Spencer on this point? That would be interesting. Maybe he’d find his legal justification for dual allegiances in a document such as this:

He says that Robert Spencer is a Nazi. Salim has a solid wall between his reasonable positions on things with which we would all pretty much agree, and his defence of Islam as a whole, which is irrational. He attacks people who question or point out Islam’s true nature with severe ad hominem and rhetorical tactics, but not reason.
This is how he is. The question is whether or not he has greater utility to Western Civilization despite this or not. I feel he does.
You guys are screwed. At least our Muslim politicians are clearly disgusting.
