These guys are very good on all things China. Videos are very worth watching for those interested in the disposition and inner workings and geopolitics of China. It is as shocking in the same way that it is sticking that Youtube shadow banned Dennis Prager because his video on the 10 commandments mentions the word “murder”, that they also shadow ban China uncensored. To borrow a stylistic device of CU, that would be, shocking if you assume that Google and Youtube acts in accordance with the values and sense of fairness and reasonableness that they say they do, and that we want to believe they do.
Once you understand their real ethic and values, they become very predictable and the fact that CU is shadow banned becomes sort of satisfying to your understanding while nauseating as proof that Alphabet/Google/Youtube is in fact so evil, that at least, is a miniature spark of last-gasp integrity, they recently dropped their slogan of,”Don’t be evil”.
Up to a point, China will intervene through scare tactics only such as arrests, but nothing more. It’s walking on eggshells and the world is watching.
They’re in serious economic trouble and their own people on the mainland are not faring all that well (heavily in debt, collapsing businesses, and growing discontent).
They won’t take the risk of losing face in a Hong Kong crackdown that they will lose which would lead to a revolt on the mainland.
No matter what they do they are facing an economic slow down and possibly an economic collapse, the latter would create a revolt and the first might. The Chinese Communist Party is discovering that Marxism doesn’t work and no amount of military force can make it work.
It will be interesting to see what Google and other big left wing companies do if/when China collapses.
Earlier today they were still notifying subscribers when new videos come out, but I don’t know for how long. Computing Forever is saying that the number of views on his videos is way down.
