  1. ‘I am delivering’ Trump recognises Jerusalem as Israel capital amid worldwide fury (express, Dec 6, 2017)

“DONALD Trump officially announced the US will recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital in a controversial announcement at the White House today.

Speaking at the White House today, the US President said his announcement was nothing more than a “recognition of reality and the right thing to do, something that has to be done”.

He announced that the United States will recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel after days of speculation.

And he directed the State Department to begin looking for a site for an embassy in Jerusalem, in a move from their existing site in Tel Aviv – a process which is expected to take years, although Trump has signed a six-month delay to the move.

He also said he would remain deeply committed to helping facilitate a peace agreement acceptable to both Israelis and Palestinians depsite his announcement, adding “the United States would support a two state solution if agreed to by both sides”.

But he said the world is no closer to a lasting peace agreement in the region – adding recognising Jerusalem as the Israeli capital is “in the best interests of the US and the pursuit of peace between Israel and Palestinians.”

Trump said: “Jerusalem is the heart of three great religions but also the heart of one of the most successful democracies in the world.

“Israeli people have built a country where people of all faiths are free to live and worship according to their beliefs.

“Jerusalem is today and must remain a place where Jews pray, where Christians walk and where Muslims worship.”

Trump called his decision a “a long overdue” step to advance the peace process.

He siad: “I have determined that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. While previous presidents have made this a major campaign promise, they failed to deliver. Today, I am delivering.”

The Israeli minister Bennett was the first to react to Mr Trump’s speech, saying of the announcement: “Thanks US President, today is a shiny day for the Jewish people”.

And Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also given his reaction to Donald Trump’s speech, hailing the announcement as a “historic landmark”.

He also called on other countries to follow Washington’s lead and move their embassies to Jerusalem.

Israeli and American flags have been projected on a part of the walls surrounding Jerusalem’s Old City ahead of the announcement.

But the move is a shocking break from established US policy and has been described as the “kiss of death” for a two-state solution by the Palestinian authorities…”

  2. The Arabic culture responds to strength, by officially recognizing Jerusalem as the Israeli Capital but never moving our embassy there we have been displaying weakness. Trump is demonstrating strength which gives us more influence in the Middle East then we had prior to this move. While I don’t doubt that Trump would have done this anyway he was forced into this move by Obama’s actions which showed so much weakness on the part of the US. I don’t know what the end results of this move will be but if we can keep the left from doing more damage to what use to be Western Civilization it should have a very positive result.

      • The only problem that I see is will the next President allow our Embassy remain in Jerusalem or will it be some leftist who will pull it back to Tel Aviv? Donald Trump has a total of 8 years to undo the damage that Obama did, the question is will Pence get 8 years to ensure that the damage will not be re-inflicted?

  3. It is about time: the US overwhelmingly passed a law in 1995 that says they must move their embassy to Jerusalem and recognize it as Israel’s capital.

It only took 22 years and God Emperor Trump to make it happen!!!

  4. “Trump said: “Jerusalem is the heart of three great religions but also the heart of one of the most successful democracies in the world.

“Israeli people have built a country where people of all faiths are free to live and worship according to their beliefs.

Jews pray, Christians walk, Muslims counterfeit.

  5. I cringe every time I hear that line about Jerusalem being the birthplace of the “three great religions”. Judaism and Christianity happened all over the Galilee but Islam is from Mecca and Medina, not Jerusalem. Initially, Muhammad had the Muslims praying in the direction of Jerusalem but when the Jews failed to join his religion he changed the praying direction from Jerusalem to Mecca. The only reason it had been Jerusalem is because Muhammad wanted the Jews to join him, but his love turned to hate when they “betrayed” him by not converting to his religion, which the Jews found laughable…

Muslims lie freely and it catches us off guard. We’re not used to proper upper class educated people simply lying about things that can be easily disproven, but Believers do it all the time and us Infidels just can’t seem to figure it out. The Muslims conquered Jerusalem and built a mosque on the Jews’ most holy site, not out of devotion, but out of hatred and spite. There is not one shred of truth to the “birthplace of the three great religions” meme. Is Paris the birthplace of Naziism just because Hitler invaded France?

    • There are several memes that are embedded in our thought patterns, memes we need to change so they represent the facts of history. 3 are 1 Islam is an Abrahamic faith, 2 Jerusalem is the birth place of Islam, 3 Fascism is a philosophy of the right.

Changing these three memes will make our problem much easier.

  6. A step in the right direction. But pandering to Mohammedan pretensions to the Temple Mount come short of plain speaking. The Mohammedans have religious sites on the Temple Mount only as a matter of declaring their superiority over the beliefs of the native inhabitants. That is the sum total of Islam.

There was no reason for Trump to make any mention of Al Aqsa. Does he think such words will mollify the Mohammedans? On the other hand, they would be no angrier had he made no mention of Mohammedan squatters on the Temple Mount (Mohammedan anger is always turned up to 11) but a lot more unsure of what he was up to. And that, I contend, is a good thing.

    • You are right, never let you enemy see what you are up to, make them think that no matter how simple you actions are they have an ulterior motive that they can’t see. The Arabs love conspiracy theories so let them spent their time trying to figure what you conspiracy is and what its goals are.

  7. Prof. Eugene Kontorovich spoke in the hearing in Congress discussing the benefits and challenges of relocating the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem.

    • I hope a lot of people were paying attention, the left will ignore what he said but the rest of us need to listen and follow his advice.
