This is why tax accounting is almost a separate profession from ordinary accounting. If you know the ins and outs of the tax code it is possible to legally hide a lot of money. What isn’t on the books can’t be taxed or confiscated. Given the games he plays the latter possibility has to be on his mind a lot of the time.
