  1. BREITBART :

Update, 16:03 PM EST: Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia reports that a man identifying himself as Driss Oukabir, the man whose identification Spanish authorities say they found in one of the two vans rented and used in the attack, has walked into a police station claiming his legal documents were stolen.

According to the mayor of Ripoll, the town where the man claiming to be Oukabir entered a police station, the man told police “that, upon seeing his photo in the media, he came to the police station to explain that his documents had been stolen.” The mayor, Jordi Munell, claims that Oukabir is “well known in the community.”

The report claims the mayor believes it is possible that Oukabir’s younger brother, 18-year-old Moussa, stole the documents in question. Moussa Oukabir lives in Barcelona. Driss Oukabir is a French national, according to Vanguardia.

    • Time to stop identifying nationality. Muslim is all that is needed. Also , on Pershing, it doesn’t matter whether the story was true, it matters if the Muslims believed it was true. Sometimes psychology works better than reality.

  2. yahoo news – People are sharing pictures of cats after the Barcelona attack

In attempt to prevent information about officers’ operational movements finding its way to the attackers, police told Twitter users to “remain in safe areas and help the police. Do not spread images!”

As a result, social media users have started flooding the #Barcelona trending tag with images and videos of cats.

Many Twitter users have also used images of cats to ensure any propaganda impact desired by the terrorists is lessened.

Others are doing it out of respect to the families of those killed.

    • Barcelona terror attack: 4 dead in shootout with Spanish police in Cambrils

CAMBRILS, Spain — Police in Spain say they have shot and killed four people south of Barcelona while carrying out an operation in response to a terrorist attack on Thursday.

The regional police for the Catalonia region said on Twitter early Friday that officers are in Cambrils, a seaside resort town 62 miles from Barcelona.

According to BBC News, police said they stopped a second alleged terror plot.

Authorities called on people in the town not to go out on the streets, although they said the situation was under control.

Spain’s public broadcaster, RTVE, is reporting that regional police troopers killed four people and injured another. The suspects may have been carrying suicide explosive belts.

The broadcaster says police suspected they were planning an attack in Cambrils just hours after a van swerved onto a pedestrian promenade in Barcelona, killing 13.

In another incident, according to BBC News, police shot dead a man who drove into officers at a checkpoint on the outskirts of Barcelona, but the authorities said there was no evidence that he was connected to the attack in Las Ramblas.
