Many Canadians still need proof that Canada is now a Marxist-Islamic nation as opposed to a liberal democracy based on rule of law. Or more accurately is rapidly transitioning from the latter to the former.
This story about banned songs on a university campus should give you a good idea of the direction and purpose. They are going to form committees to decide what songs are allowed according to the moment’s inclusivity laws. The fact that the song was actually promoting the thing its accused of being offensive against, is irrelevant just like the ban of the Sultan’s of Swing’s song, Money for Nothing, was actually mocking homophobic bigoted conservatives, but they forced an apology from Mark Knopfler anyway. Who stupidly gave it.
So, like the United Soviet Socialist Republic, everything has a committee and every committee has to prove its value to the core ideology by being more and more restrictive of the rights of others. Even when it comes to interpretation of pop songs. But that will represent a tiny fraction of what you can say, wear, believe or act on.
What’s that you say? Why care about what a voluntary committee on a campus or media group which has no real binding authority has to say?

“Asked about whether the decision could be appealed through courts, Mr. Cohen mentioned the case of the Quebec radio station CHOI-FM, which he said left the voluntary Council in disputes over the use of abusive language.
What happened then, he said, was that the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, a government body analogous to America’s Federal Communications Commission, rejected the station’s bid to renew its license. As a legal case was winding its way through Canada’s courts, in the CRTC’s favor to that point, the license to use the frequency was sold and the case became moot.”
Dah comrade. Groups of cultural Marxists with years of cult-like indoctrination in post modernism, partially to mostly replacing reason and logic as foundations of decision making, and fully supplanting liberalism, decide what restrictions will bring about social utopia, and more importantly the death of free market economics and liberal thought, and if people offer them the middle finger, they will lose everything that hundreds of people over decades have worked for, from personal wealth to a means to employ people.
Yes. An actual government agency like the CRTC which probably shouldn’t exist in the first place and for the same reasons, will kill the entire business with the abuse of one regulation.
Notice how the student group apologized for the Lou Reed song:
“According to the student group, the song, by Lou Reed, was selected for the 1970s and 1980s playlist out of “ignorance” and was “an error in judgment.””
But wait! There’s more!
““While we acknowledge that the song was written with certain purpose and intention, we would also emphasize that media is not always consumed in the ways that it was intended,” the group added.””
No attempt was made to defend freedom of speech. But more interestingly, no attempt was made to explain that this song in fact was meant to force the general population to accept men who pass themselves off as women. They just meekly complied like anyone facing a Soviet People’s Court. And worse, they are banning it based on possible interpretations of the lyrics. Thinking for us, and protecting us from improper ideological exposure of our own devisings.
So now, we must obey the new ideological framework of things without even acknowledging what it is.
Now that, is real power.
I fear for Canada, our bothers to the north are rapidly losing the rights that our forefathers fought and died for, they are giving up essential liberties not in the search for security but in the search for social approval. The Canadian Parliament are marching in lockstep into the slavery of a Marxist Dictatorship.
