  1. Doctors Raise Concerns over Clinton’s Pneumonia Diagnosis and Treatment

Doctors are raising concerns about Hillary Clinton’s recent pneumonia diagnosis and treatment, suggesting a case of the disease that causes a patient to collapse should be treated more seriously.

Executive Director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons Dr. Jane Orient, who previously said Clinton’s coughing fit last week appeared more serious than allergies, spoke to Breitbart News during a phone interview on Monday, the day after Clinton had to leave the 9-11 memorial service in New York City due a health episode, which was caught on a video. The video appears to show the former secretary of state stumbling and possibly fainting — or collapsing — as she was placed into a van.

Initial reports suggested the former first lady fainted, but Clinton denied losing consciousness during an interview with CNN following her health scare.

  2. Duterte killed justice official, hitman tells Philippine senate

Manila (AFP) – Rodrigo Duterte shot dead a justice department employee and ordered the murder of opponents, a former death squad member told parliament Thursday, in explosive allegations against the Philippine president.

The self-described assassin testified under oath that he and a group of policemen and ex-communist rebels killed about 1,000 people between 1988 and 2013 on Duterte’s orders — one of them an alleged kidnapper fed alive to a crocodile.

Others were garroted, burned, quartered and then buried at a quarry owned by a police officer who was a member of the death squad. Others were dumped at sea to be eaten by fish.

Edgar Matobato, 57, made the allegations before the Senate, which is investigating alleged extrajudicial killings in Duterte’s anti-crime crackdown that police said has left 3,140 people dead in his first 72 days in office.

  3. Witness says Philippine president ordered killings of 1,000

By JIM GOMEZ and TERESA CEROJANO

MANILA, Philippines (AP) — A former Filipino militiaman testified before the country’s Senate on Thursday that President Rodrigo Duterte, when he was still a city mayor, ordered him and other members of a liquidation squad to kill criminals and opponents in gangland-style assaults that left about 1,000 dead.

Edgar Matobato, 57, told the nationally televised Senate committee hearing that he heard Duterte order some of the killings, and acknowledged that he himself carried out about 50 deadly assaults as an assassin, including a suspected kidnapper fed to a crocodile in 2007 in southern Davao del Sur province.

  4. Mexico builds its own wall against migrants

Pressure builds for measures to stem flow of refugees from the south heading for US

Donald Trump wants a wall on America’s southern border to keep illegal immigrants out. But for people such as Rosa, whose husband, mother, sister, brother-in-law and two nephews were murdered in her native Honduras by gangs who then tried to recruit her 14-year-old son, Mexico already acts as a formidable barrier.

Rosa, who asked for her full name not to be used, fled with her two teenage sons only to find herself trapped in a political controversy that the US Republican candidate has put at the heart of his campaign.

Zero net immigration of Mexicans into the US and an 82 per cent fall in people caught trying to cross the US-Mexico border in the past 10 years means that most would-be immigrants detained there are Central Americans. Even without Mr Trump’s fortress frontier, Mexico finds itself under increasing pressure to stem the migrant tide near its source — its own southern border.

“Mexico has become a wall for migrants,” said Sister Magdalena Silva, co-ordinator of Cafemin, a privately run shelter in Mexico City that takes in refugee families, including Rosa’s. “The current policy is to arrest migrants to stop them from getting to the US border.”

  5. Tough Phoenix sheriff may have new foe: George Soros

PHOENIX (AP) – Joe Arpaio, the self-proclaimed toughest sheriff in America who could face criminal charges for ignoring a judge’s order to stop targeting Latinos in anti-immigration roundups, may now have a new foe as he seeks re-election – George Soros, the billionaire liberal hedge fund tycoon.

The Republican sheriff already was battered politically and support for him had been slipping when a group linked to Soros mounted an anti-Arpaio attack in an attempt to weaken his bid for a seventh straight term.

The group started sending fliers to Phoenix-area voters two weeks ago, and a mailing last week accuses Arpaio of separating a mother from her child because of an unpaid traffic ticket, botching hundreds of sex crimes investigations and scaring immigrants so much that that they don’t report crime.

Arpaio denies the claims and is easily capable of striking back with a formidable $2.9 million still available for campaign spending ahead of the Nov. 8 vote, dwarfing the total $326,000 raised by his challenger, Democrat Paul Penzone, a former Phoenix police sergeant who lost to Arpaio by 6 percentage points in 2012.

But the entry of a Soros-linked group is a gift for Penzone, who acknowledges he’ll never come close to matching Arpaio’s campaign spending.

  6. Why millions of Indian workers just staged one of the biggest labor strikes in history

Earlier this month, tens of millions of Indian workers staged a one-day general strike that unions billed as the biggest work stoppage in human history.

By the unions’ count, 180 million workers stayed home to demand a slew of changes to labor laws, including establishing a $270 monthly minimum wage for unskilled laborers and ensuring social security for every worker.

The 24-hour strike cost the Indian economy up to $2.7 billion, by one estimate, and affected electricity, mining, telecommunications, banking and insurance operations in several states.

It was the latest salvo in an escalating battle between India’s leading public-sector trade unions and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, which they accuse of pursuing a pro-business agenda while ignoring workers’ rights.

  7. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot: Kerry pushes hard to sell out U.S. operations, intelligence in Syria

Donald Trump is coming under a lot of fire for speaking with apparent admiration of Vladimir Putin. Trump’s seeming affinity for a KGB thug with a trail of bodies in his wake is understandably troubling for many.

But there’s certainly one fellow who would have no room to criticize, if it occurred to him to do so. That fellow is John Kerry.

Since at least early summer, Kerry has been working on a deal with the Russians in Syria that would so effectively hobble U.S. activities there that we would be of little use even to the Russians and Assad, much less to ourselves.

The specifics of the deal just announced on Friday have not been released in detail. But based on a set of specifics published in July, when Kerry was working on the same deal (which was not fully implemented at the time, but only partially observed), we can confidently guess that the bottom line on the deal is this: there is no way to fully implement it and remain effective.

The Pentagon was opposed to the terms of the deal in July, and continues to have the same level of opposition, according to the New York Times. That, and the general outlines of the deal, which remain the same, tell us that the specifics of it haven’t changed much, if at all.

The current plan for the deal is that if the ceasefire that officially started on Monday “holds” (scare quotes meant to scare), for seven days, then on the eighth day, the U.S. and Russia will begin to implement an agreement for joint military operations.

    • Must reat

Once again Obama and Company are selling out our allies, anyone we are helping like the Kurds will end up with Russia and then Syria and probably Turkey knowing their positions. Also all of our intel assets are at extreme risk. The Russians are excellent at the intel game and it won’t take them long before they get enough info from the data we pass on to be able to identify our agents in place.

Once again the Dems sell out our allies.

      • Over the weekend Israelis were speculating that Erdoff and Putin made a deal. Kerry ratified it – ex post facto. The Kurds have been royally sold out.

Putin’s letting Erdoff keep that northern “safe zone” – some 4,000 sq. kms of northern Syria. Exchanging “Assad can stay” for “Assad must go.” So our NATO ally is withdrawing support for our “coalition” of ‘moderate’ jihadis in Syria.

        • Like I said he is stabbing our allies in the back, a stunt the left is real good at, they started doing this in Nam and have been practicing to achieve excellence in the betrayal ever since.

Granted the Kurds are the only ones that were semi trustworthy but they do deserve their own country.

Life imitates art: Black Lives Matter leader is robbed, demands more police protection
By Howard Portnoy September 14, 2016

Yesterday, I noted that the creators of the Comedy Central hit “South Park” had tweeted out a Kaepernick-friendly version of the national anthem. The lyrics included the following:

    Colin Kaepernick is great.
Cops are pigs, cops are pigs.
Wait, someone just took my stuff, I need to call the cops.

This morning, I came across a story that might well have been the inspiration for these lyrics.

Houston ABC affiliate KTRK reported last week that a graduate student at the University of Houston was robbed at gunpoint outside his off-campus apartment. The victim, Jerry Ford, Jr., is identified as “one of the leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement.” That’s the organization that popularized chants like “Pigs in a blanket/fry ’em like bacon” and elevated cop killer Assata Shakur (aka Joanne Chesimard) to hero status:

  9. Deutsche Welle – Merkel, God and the burqa

An international parliamentarian conference has found that more and more people worldwide are suffering from religious oppression. Has Germany made strides in that regard? Chancellor Angela Merkel has urged restraint.

[…]”Freedom rights also protect the freedom to be different from what the majority expects or imagines,” said Merkel. She personally considers a full-face veil to be “a great obstacle in integration,” but she believes that restrictions can only be made if other fundamental rights are violated, like the rights of others or the principle of state neutrality towards all religion. That is why she advocates “precise plans of action for places where a full-face veil is not warranted,” for example, the public sector or in court.[…]

  10. Cost to be the US National Director of Homeland Security? $561,310

Jeh Johnson donated a combine $561,310 before he was appointed to the Director of Homeland Security back in 2013. Government appointments especially for security positions should strictly be based on merit, not on who can donate the most money to the Democratic National Committee.

There is a product being sold here. Nobody likes candidates enough to give hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars without buying something and expecting it to greatly reward them. This is the buying and selling of one of the highest positions in the land. A position that is directly responsible for the security of the United States.

This is the guy appointed by Obama to oversee the elections to prevent “Russian” voter fraud. This also is coming out a month after Obama tried to shoot down Trumps accusation to watch out for voter fraud. This is coming out after new DNC emails reveal the Democrats were discussing how they are ‘handling donations from donors who have given us pay to play letters?” We can expect to see the same pay for play scheme in a Hillary Clinton White House.

    • WikiLeaks’ Guccifer 2.0: Obama Sold Off Public Offices to Donors

Corruption doesn’t start or end with Hillary

On September 13, WikiLeaks lived up to its promise of releasing more Democratic National Committee (DNC) documents. This time they were from hacker Guccifer 2.0, serving as a teaser for larger and likely more embarrassing leaks from the DNC and Hillary Clinton campaign.

Both the Democratic Party and Clinton campaign have attempted to insulate themselves from the content of the releases by alleging the hacks were organized by the Russian government. The claims are a mix of paranoia and PR/damage control, and will have enduring consequences. It may lead to what former Secretary of Defense William Perry referred to as a drift back into Cold War mentalities.

The leaks include more evidence of overt corruption within the DNC. One email dated May 18, 2016, from Jacquelyn Lopez, an attorney with the law firm Perkins Coie, asked DNC staff if they could set up a brief call “to go over our process for handling donations from donors who have given us pay to play letters.”

Included in the leak was a list of high-profile donors from 2008 and the ambassadorship they received in exchange for their large donation to the DNC and Barack Obama’s Organizing For Action (OFA). Essentially, Obama was auctioning off foreign ambassador positions and other office positions while Hillary Clinton served as secretary of state. The largest donor listed at contributions totaling over $3.5 million, Matthew Barzun, served as U.S. Ambassador to Sweden from 2009 to 2011, served as President Obama’s National Finance Chair during his 2012 reelection campaign, and now serves as U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

The second largest donor, Julius Genachowski, donated just under $3.5 million to the DNC and OFA, and in exchange was appointed chairman of the FCC by Obama in 2009.

The third largest donor on the list, Frank Sanchez, donated just over $3.4 million and exchange was appointed to Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade by Obama in 2010.

A 2013 article published by the Guardian corroborates the pay-to-play scheme this list suggests. “Barack Obama has rewarded some of his most active campaign donors with plum jobs in foreign embassies, with the average amount raised by recent or imminent appointees soaring to $1.8m per post, according to a Guardian analysis,” wrote Dan Roberts. “The practice is hardly a new feature of U.S. politics, but career diplomats in Washington are increasingly alarmed at how it has grown. One former ambassador described it as the selling of public office.”

A separate release from DC Leaks, an anonymous organization, revealed emails between former Secretary of State Colin Powell and Democratic Party mega-donor and Powell’s business partner, Jeffrey Leeds. In the exchange, Powell vents to Leeds over the Clinton campaign trying to use him as a scapegoat regarding Clinton’s controversial use of a private email server that instigated a FBI criminal investigation. “I warned her staff three times over the past two years not to try to connect it to me. I am not sure HRC even knew or understood what was going on in the basement,” Powell wrote in one email, according to The Intercept.

Another major issue brought up by the latest leaks is the media blackout on the content of what was released. Politico, The New York Times, and several other news outlets opted to report solely on the fact that there was a new leak—citing a statement from DNC Chair Donna Brazile, who claims the DNC is the victim of a Russian cyber-attack—without delving into the specifics of the content.

The recent leak teaser from WikiLeaks and Guccifer 2.0 serves to show how extensive and far back the documents obtained in the hacks go. While no emails were released in this latest release, the documents to come will—at the very least—shed further light as to the extent of corruption in the Democratic Party.

    • DNC Leak Shows Evidence of Insider Trading and Securities Fraud

I’ve obtained evidence via Wikileaks’ recent DNC leak that the Democratic Party may have been engaging in insider trading, which is illegal.

Insider trading is a form of securities fraud, trading on the stock market using confidential information that the general public does not have access to.

Insider trading is against the law because it’s a form of cheating.

DNC Leak Reveals System for Automated Voter Fraud

I’ve obtained evidence via Wikileaks’ recent DNC leak that the Democratic Party’s state data swapping program enables the party to commit automated voter fraud on a massive scale.

The DNC’s system enables them to delete voters from the rolls, change their registration or anything they want.

The DNC likely used the system against Bernie Sanders’ supporters in the primary this year.
The DNC’s “database” is designed to facilitate voter fraud.

The file in question was brought to my attention by a contact of mine, who had this to say:

One document specifies how the state swap program is run. Basically, this allows a DNC API to exchange and update data between states’ voter rolls twice a year!

This is how purges happen, this is how voters are targeted and registrations switched, or voters made invalid due to any number of changes by this automated system. This is how Bernie Sanders voters got removed from voter rolls and party affiliations switched.

The state swap program ostensibly allows individual states to trade voter data with the DNC.[…]

  11. N Y T – When a Crackpot Runs for President

One of the mental traps that we all fall into, journalists included, is to perceive politics through narratives.

[…]Likewise, we in the media wrongly portrayed President Jimmy Carter as a bumbling lightweight, even as he tackled the toughest challenges,

[…]Then in 2000, we painted Al Gore as inauthentic and having a penchant for self-aggrandizing exaggerations,

I bring up this checkered track record because I wonder if once again our collective reporting isn’t fueling misperceptions.

A CNN/ORC poll this month found that by a margin of 15 percentage points, voters thought Donald Trump was “more honest and trustworthy” than Hillary Clinton. Let’s be frank: This public perception is completely at odds with all evidence.

[…]and the same goes for a crackpot who has argued that climate change is a Chinese-made hoax, who has called for barring Muslims and who has said that he will build a border wall and that Mexico will pay for it.

[…]Yes, Clinton has been disingenuous and legalistic in her explanations of emails.

[…]The Clinton Foundation saves lives around the world from AIDS and malnutrition,

[…]The latest dust-up has been health care. Neither candidate has been very open about health, but Clinton has produced much more detailed medical records than Trump,

We should be guard dogs, not lap dogs, and when the public sees Trump as more honest than Clinton, something has gone wrong.[…]

  12. FBI director: Cover up your webcam

The head of the FBI on Wednesday defended putting a piece of tape over his personal laptop’s webcam, claiming the security step was a common sense one that most should take.

“There’s some sensible things you should be doing, and that’s one of them,” Director James Comey said during a conference at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

“You go into any government office and we all have the little camera things that sit on top of the screen,” he added. “They all have a little lid that closes down on them.

“You do that so that people who don’t have authority don’t look at you. I think that’s a good thing.”

Comey was pilloried online earlier this year, after he revealed that he puts a piece of tape over his laptop camera to keep away prying eyes. The precaution is a common one among security advocates, given the relative ease of hacking laptop cameras.

But many found it ironic for Comey, who this year launched a high profile battle against Apple to gain access to data locked inside of the iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino, Calif., terrorists. Many viewed that fight as a referendum on digital privacy.

Comey was “much mocked for that,” he acknowledged on Wednesday.

But he still uses the tape on his laptop.

“I hope people lock their cars,” he said. “Lock your doors at night… if you have an alarm system, you should use it.”

“It’s not crazy that the FBI director cares about personal security as well,” the FBI director added. “So I think people ought to take responsibility for their own safety and security.”

  13. Germany: Clashes erupt in Bautzen between far-right protesters and refugees

Physical and verbal clashes erupted between around 20 refugees and 80 locals, mostly from far right political groups, in the east German city of Bautzen on Wednesday evening.

      • Germany migrants: Residents battle asylum seekers in Bautzen (BBC, Sep 15, 2016)
        http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-37372029

“Residents have clashed with asylum seekers in a town in eastern Germany that has become a flashpoint for anti-refugee sentiment.

Some 80 men and women, many described as far-right, fought with 20 migrants and refugees in Bautzen.

The asylum seekers were chased to their hostel and put under police guard.

Anti-migrant tensions have been mounting in Bautzen this year. Locals cheered when a building due to house migrants was set on fire in February.

The following month, President Joachim Gauck was verbally abused when he visited Bautzen to discuss the influx of refugees in Germany.

Bautzen and the nearby town of Niedergurig are home to four asylum shelters.

Bautzen is 60km (38 miles) east of Dresden, where the “anti-Islamisation” Pegida movement began.

Since the arrival last year of 1.1 million irregular migrants and refugees in Germany, some areas, particularly eastern states, have seen a rise in anti-migrant violence as well as support for the anti-Islam AfD party.

Germany’s federal police force says there have been 700 attacks on asylum accommodation this year, including 57 arson attacks.

Each fresh outbreak of refugee-related violence is potentially a political problem for Chancellor Angela Merkel. Some voters say large-scale migration could destabilise German society.

As a result the chancellor’s conservative coalition has been haemorrhaging voters to the insurgent anti-migrant Alternative for Germany (AfD) party. That’s a particular worry given that this weekend voters in Berlin region go to the polls, and next year Mrs Merkel’s national government faces re-election.

But many Germans from other parts of Germany are more likely to blame the clashes on racist sentiment rather than see it as a product of the chancellor’s welcoming stance on refugees.

That is because this beautiful area of ex-communist eastern Germany already has a rather ugly reputation for neo-Nazi support and right-wing extremist violence.

Wednesday’s outbreak of violence in Bautzen was a dramatic escalation of days of tensions in the town.

The clashes appeared to be triggered by an incident the previous evening when a 32-year-old resident was hurt by a bottle being thrown.

Residents on Wednesday accused asylum seekers of taking over a square outside the central Kornmarkt shopping centre before fighting broke out.

Witnesses said when police asked the asylum seekers to leave, they responded by hurling bottles and wooden slats. When the asylum seekers began to disperse, they were pursued by a group of extremists.

An ambulance crew was caught up in the clashes when far-right residents hurled stones at their vehicle as they tried to take an 18-year-old Moroccan asylum seeker to hospital for treatment.

Local mayor Alexander Ahrens appealed for calm and said he would increase police patrols in the area so that residents could use the Kornmarkt again.

“From the many reactions of Bautzen citizens, as well as from tourists and local businesspeople – I understood that the conditions in our public square have triggered serious anxiety and worries,” he wrote on his Facebook page.””

        • Sounds good to me. The leftard author hopefully falls into Muslim hands at some point in the unpleasantness about to break.

        • Each fresh outbreak of refugee-related violence is potentially a political problem for Chancellor Angela Merkel. Some voters say large-scale migration could destabilise German society.

So interesting that this report should place the fate of a heavily protected politician above the citizens of the country. And then he went on to smear those citizens as neo-Nazis… (Don’t pay any attention to them, we in Western Germany will keep her in office.)

I understood that the conditions in our public square have triggered serious anxiety and worries,

This is political speech for “the welfare migrants have taken over our town square and the natives (little people) are not happy about it.”

          • All of the leftist politicians in Europe are being put at risk of losing their jobs everytime there is an outbreak of violence between the invaders and the Europeans.

      • The next evolution in this type of film will have the crowds equipped with blunt and bladed objects. Thanks leftards.

        • Once the blades and clubs become common it won’t take long before one side or the other (probably the Moslems) will buy firearms on the black market to bring to the parties. We can expect the advances in weaponry will take a few months but the more the Germans fight back the faster the Moslems will resort to lethal weapons. Given the situtation over there I predict that the blades and clubs will come out later this year and the guns next summer. Bear in mind that I tend to think events will change and the violence grow faster then recent history says they did.

  14. Show Me State loosens gun laws, tightens voting laws

Missouri’s Republican-led Legislature used its supermajority Wednesday to significantly loosen the state’s gun laws and potentially tighten its voting requirements as lawmakers overrode numerous vetoes of Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon.

The sweeping guns legislation would allow most adults to carry concealed weapons without needing a permit while also expanding people’s right to defend themselves both in public and private places. The elections law change would require people to show a government-issued photo ID at the polls starting in 2017, if voters also approve a proposed constitutional amendment on the November ballot.

Both measures passed with more than the required two-thirds majority in each chamber as Republicans shut off Democratic discussion and enacted the laws on largely party-line votes.

Lawmakers overrode 13 vetoes Wednesday while adding to Nixon’s record as the most overridden governor in Missouri history, a distinction made possible by an era of extreme political division in the Capitol. Heading into Wednesday, lawmakers had successfully overridden Nixon on 83 bills and budget expenditures over his two terms in office — nearly four times more overrides than the combined total for all other governors dating back to 1820 when Missouri was still a territory.

Nixon vetoed about two dozen measures this year, including ones already overridden this spring blocking pay raises for home-care workers and changing the state’s school funding requirements.

Among the additional bills overridden Wednesday is one charging fees ranging from $5 to $20 to Medicaid patients who repeatedly miss doctors’ appointments. But it’s uncertain whether that law actually can take effect, because a spokeswoman for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services says federal regulations don’t allow such fees.

The votes occurred as many lawmakers are campaigning for re-election in November.

“I think a lot of the things that we’ve done today will resonate in the election in a very positive way,” House Speaker Todd Richardson said.

The guns legislation prompted some of the most intense debate Wednesday.

Democrats asserted it could put racial minorities at a greater risk of being fatally shot.

    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/710981/Marion-Le-Pen-migrant-National-Front-Turkey-EU-deal

“THE niece of French far-right leader Marine Le Pen has said she fears migrants will be heading to rural France because the Turkey-EU refugee deal is FAILING.

Front National MP, Marion Le Pen, blamed Brussels bureaucrats for “losing” out as the fate of the controversial migrant deal hangs in the balance.

In angry Twitter rant, the far-right politician said: “The agreement with #Turkey for managing migrants is failing and the EU is losing.

“They will distribute #migrants in the countryside, the situation is already problematic… #Calais #FranceInfo #MMLP”

The party’s leader, Marine Le Pen, dealt a crippling blow to the failing EU this week when she promised she will hold a referendum to decide whether France remains in the crumbling bloc if she becomes president.

Euroscepticism has swept across the nation following the escalating migrant crisis and a number of Islamist terror attacks on French soil linked to EU free movement rules.

Bowing to pressure, Brussels bureaucrats launched a landmark deal with Turkey to stop illegal immigration to Europe via its shores, in return for a staggering £2.5billion, the promise of visa-free travel to much of the bloc plus accelerated talks on EU membership.

But relations between the Brussels club and Ankara have soured since the failed military coup and the country’s stubborn refusal to back down on anti-terror laws.

Turkey has repeatedly attempted to blackmail Brussels over the escalating migrant crisis by threatening to rip up an agreement to bring the refugee flow under control if it does not get its own way…”

  16. Refugees Seek Damages From Macedonia Over Police Expulsions (abcnews, Sep 15, 2016)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/refugees-seek-damages-macedonia-police-expulsions-42111440

“Eight asylum seekers are taking legal action against Macedonia for expelling them back to Greece after a chaotic mass border crossing earlier this year.

The migrant advocacy group ProAsyl said it helped the group file a complaint Monday with the Council of Europe’s Court of Human Rights.

Karl Kopp of the Frankfurt, Germany-based group said Thursday that the asylum seekers were from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. He did not disclose their names.

“They know they will probably not see justice but if there is a (favorable) verdict, then it might help refugees in the future,” Kopp told The Associated Press.

The March 14 incident occurred along a rugged stretch of the Greek-Macedonian border when hundreds of migrants and refugees who had forced their way across were detained and then expelled.

The migrants had been stranded at the sprawling tent city of Idomeni on the Greek side of the border. The expulsions signaled a shift across much of Europe toward a tougher line against refugees after more than a million had crossed into the European Union the previous year.

In hectic scenes seen on television internationally, Greek and overseas volunteers helped the migrants across a river — with many holding young children and their belongings over their heads.

“It was known as the ‘march of hope’ but it was really a march of despair,” Kopp said. “We have not forgotten what happened. Our point is that violence was used and people were pushed back illegally. There were handicapped people there and others who were clearly in need of assistance.”

Macedonia, which used its army to build a razor-wire fence along the border with Greece, has argued that it has the right to protect its borders and denies using excessive force.

The legal complaint was also supported by the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, also based in Germany.

The plaintiffs, Kopp said, would be entitled to financial compensation if the court rules in their favor.

The camp at Idomeni was dismantled by Greek authorities in May, and its inhabitants were bused to army-built shelters.”

  17. Hungary Seeks to Aid Persecuted Christians Around the World (abcnews, Sep 15, 2016)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/hungary-seeks-aid-persecuted-christians-world-42111435

“Hungary says it is setting up a special department to coordinate the assistance and rescue of persecuted Christians around the world.

Janos Lazar, Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s chief of staff, said Thursday that the 10-person office will seek to organize international aid for persecuted Christians when the work of private and nonprofit groups proves insufficient.

Lazar says the new department within the Ministry of Human Resources was inspired by a recent trip the prime minister took to Rome, where he met with representatives of Eastern Christian churches.

Lazar says the meetings made clear “there would be a great need for European government organizations to take this issue more seriously.”

Orban has said that taking in large numbers of Muslim refugees will destroy Europe’s Christian identity.”

“Russia has accused the United States of failing to fulfil its obligations under the truce agreement in Syria.

A defence ministry statement said Washington was using a “verbal curtain” to hide its reluctance to rein in the rebel groups it supports.

The truce has broadly held since taking effect on Monday although the Russian-backed Syrian army and rebels have accused each other of many violations.

  19. German restaurant in Islamic veil row after woman expelled (BBC, Sep 15, 2016)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-37373324

“A restaurant manager in Bielefeld, northern Germany, triggered a social media storm after expelling a woman wearing the Islamic full-face veil (niqab) from his premises.

On Facebook, Christian Schulz said he had to defend his Seekrug restaurant against “negative judgments”. So, he said, he had “deleted two of my posts with nearly 800 comments”.

Currently the comments on his page are overwhelmingly supportive.

He strongly denies claims of “racism”.

His Facebook page displays photos of him with a Seekrug chef who is apparently African. German media report that he employs staff from Nigeria, Ghana, Pakistan and Portugal.

Mr Schulz told local newspapers that in the past he had also expelled visitors wearing Thor Steinar clothing, which is popular among neo-Nazis.

In recent months Germans have been alarmed about terror attacks, some of them linked to Islamist extremism. The niqab and full-body veil (burka) are widely seen as symbols of ultra-conservative Islam.

The Seekrug serves alcoholic drinks and pork, which Muslims are forbidden by their religion to consume.

Integration of Muslims into German society has become a top priority since the nation took in more than a million migrants last year, many of them Muslim refugees from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The niqab-wearer turned up on Saturday as hundreds of people were gathering at the Seekrug to celebrate a Festival of Light.

Mr Schulz said he had asked her to show her face, but she refused and “got abusive”. She then left the restaurant.

After the incident, Mr Schulz was targeted with abuse and negative comments about the Seekrug on social media.

German media report that some of the abusive accounts were opened immediately after the incident, suggesting a coordinated campaign.

He later defended himself on Facebook, saying “this is all getting too much for me – on Saturday I merely enforced my right as a restaurant manager”.

The many messages of support on his Facebook page include:

Gok Han: “I’m Turkish and my religion is Islam. But… to walk into a beer garden as a Muslim and fully veiled (Burka) – I’d also find that pretty weird! You shouldn’t enter a social place where alcohol is being consumed! That’s just not on”

Norbert Bochnick: “Good luck – don’t let this put you out of business! And absolutely no-one can describe you as a racist. You’ve already shown your commitment to integration through your staff policy!”

Thomas Mueller: “In a time of Islamist terror it is really necessary to show spreading Islam the limits set by our secular society. Citizens admire you for your courage”

The veil dispute follows a similar controversy in France, centred on the Islamic burkini – a full-body swimsuit that was temporarily banned at some French resorts.

A small minority of Muslim women in France and Germany wear the full veil.

There is no Germany-wide ban on the niqab or burka but German states are allowed to impose regional restrictions if they want to.

At least half of the 16 states have banned teachers from wearing Islamic headscarves and in the state of Hesse the ban applies to all civil servants.

The conservative Bavarian Christian Social Union (CSU) – an ally of Chancellor Angela Merkel – wants the niqab and burka banned wherever possible. They are “the uniform of Islamism”, according to CSU leader Horst Seehofer.

On Wednesday Mrs Merkel opposed a total ban on the full veil. She told an international conference that “one’s choice of clothing is also an element of religious freedom”.

But she said “the full veil is a big obstacle to integration”. Restrictions are justified where other people’s rights, or the secular foundations of society, are infringed, she argued. She called for clear guidelines in areas where the full veil might cause difficulties, such as in public sector jobs or in the courts.

In Germany a restaurant or bar manager can legally refuse entry to a guest, but not if it is an arbitrary act of discrimination.

A lawyer quoted by the popular daily Bild (in German) said displaying “radical symbols” would be legitimate grounds for refusal. But the person involved should first be asked to remove that symbol – not summarily shown the door.”

  20. Turkey: German embassy closed over fears of attack by Erdogan supporters – reports

German authorities have temporarily closed the German embassy in Ankara, reportedly due to fears that the building might be targeted in attacks by supporters of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The shuttered building was seen in the Turkish capital on Wednesday.

  21. British ambassador performs Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca (BBC, Sep 15, 2016)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-37371868

“The British ambassador to Saudi Arabia has performed the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca after converting to Islam.

Simon Collis made the holy trip – which it is a duty for all able-bodied Muslims to make at least once in their life – with his wife Huda Mujarkech.

The 60-year-old is the first UK ambassador to perform Hajj.

Mr Collins has been pictured wearing the white robes traditionally worn for the pilgrimage which re-enacts the actions of the Prophet Muhammad.

The photograph was posted on the twitter account of Saudi Arabian writer and female activist Fawziah Albakr, who wrote in Arabic: “First British ambassador to the Kingdom undertakes the Hajj following his conversion to Islam. Simon Collis with his wife Huda in Mecca. Praise be to God.”

Among the Twitter users to offer congratulations Saudi Arabia’s Princess Basmah bint Saud, who wrote: “Special congratulations to the ambassador and his wife.”

Mr Collis took to Twitter to thank well-wishers and revealed he had converted to Islam shortly before marrying his wife.

He wrote: “In short, I converted to Islam after spending 30 years in Muslim societies and before getting married to Huda.”

The British diplomat has served as the ambassador to Saudi Arabia since 2015.

He has held several posts with the Foreign Office, including as ambassador to Iraq, Syria and Qatar.

In 2012, he was withdrawn from Syria by the Foreign Office following security concerns and has openly criticised the Assad regime for its role in the civil war.

Mr Collis was also British consul-general in Dubai and Basra and has also served in Tunis, New Delhi and Amman.”

  22. Analysis: Russian Military Activities from South China Sea to Sevastopol

    Donald Thieme | USNI

Russia is simultaneously conducting operations along the eastern Ukraine border, participating in large bilateral naval exercises with China in the South China Sea and conducting large-scale amphibious exercises in the Black Sea around the Crimean peninsula. The Russian Navy has subs operating in the Baltic Sea off Latvia, continues to professionalize its force, and is attempting to sustain a large upgrade in force capabilities matched with no-notice military inspections in most military districts. At the same time, it continues operations in Syria and the eastern Mediterranean, demonstrating resolve and constancy there.

It may not be 1984 again, but it certainly is not 1994 or 2004 either. Incorporated into what appears to be an overarching strategy to assert Russian primacy in their self-identified “near abroad” the Russians are doing several things simultaneously, the most important of which may well be the large-scale exercises in Crimea as part of an apparent larger strategic war game. While many may argue the relative merits of various aspects of Russian power, sanctions, diplomatic isolation and other lines of effort, there is no denying that Russia is synchronizing a strategy to keep Europe off-balance, potential allies encouraged and possible enemies deterred from the Baltic to the Black Sea and further afield.

Russia, as Winston Churchill and others have noted, is particularly enigmatic. This is only heightened by the fact that Western Europe and the United States have not produced a cohort of Russia-focused strategists since the mid-1990s. Academic and government institutions that produced droves of Soviet Union specialists during the Cold War are as empty as the runways of former U.S. air bases in England and Western Europe. What was the academic-industrial scale production of “Russia hands” has, at best, become a boutique or niche product.

The Crimean exercises show that while Russia may have endured a rather tumultuous decade from 1993 until the middle of the 2000s that period is finished. Granted, shore to shore amphibious exercises are not the same as say, Operation Torch (Allied World War II invasion of North Africa) or Operation Iceberg (the invasion of Okinawa), but they nonetheless require a great deal of planning and sophisticated execution. The Russians used to land perhaps a battalion of naval infantry during the U.S. led BALTOPS from 2004-2007 as participants in the exercise.

    • The author teaches at the Naval War Collage and has written a very interesting article, There are a lot of interesting things in the article that require much thought.

      • He’s really good. Some of his points-

        We have no Russia experts.
Part of our strategic depth used to be the area studies programs at universities. The government funded those fields via mechanisms such as the National Defense Education Act, which extended loans, commissioned studies, paid for training in targeted languages.

That’s all gone belly-up to Social Justice departments. Now the Saudis and Qataris fund hijab-design and Sharia Jurisprudence. To affirmative-action enrollees who can’t read and don’t believe they should have to learn.

Now, this is where our special relationship with Israel should be exceptionally useful, right? Expertise is first-hand there, all those educated Russians who made aliyah. Besides the high-power institutes and think-tanks and private individuals digging in Soviet archives for personal reasons. Easy, when no-visa travel obtains with the Motherland.

But American universities have become anti-Semitic hellholes. Guest professors are dis-invited, de-platformed. BDS may not be official policy, but it’s fact on the departmental level.

We are throwing away our biggest intelligence resource in the Middle East.
        ……
My Russki, an officer in the Soviet army for a few years, likes the expanded utilization of contract military professionals. The economy has to be improving to pay for all these adventures. At least somebody’s getting paid.

        >> Important: Appetite for empire is sharply constrained by demography. Russia doesn’t have young soldiers to throw away. Religion and ethnicity still matter. Young Russian breeders matter.

They’ll stir the pot, arm proxies, but despite Putin’s tame media and personal popularity, he’d be thrown out fast if body-bags started to pile up.

Muslims can kill each other all they like, though. “Collateral damage” – I’m not sure there’s a translation – wouldn’t be covered very much by RT. And everybody else lies. Trump says so.

        • Thank you for your insight, I know that Russia has a population problem but not that it was that bad. The Russian bear is growling and is still capable of damaging any attacker but they like so many other nations really aren’t interesting in expanding right now. Putin wants to extend the Russian influence and power partially for personal reasons and partially because it will stimulate the economy. What bothers me is the way the Dems thru away the chance for the US and Russia to once again become friends. Hopefully Trump will find some way to truly reset way that the US and Russia do business and that we can do business together to make both nations strong and great again. With luck we will but we are needing a lot of luck right now, probably more then we have.

Remember now is the time to make plans for the “just in case” times, while I doubt I will need it I have plans on how to E&E if the need arises. However given the number of hunters with their own rifles I doubt any trouble makers would make it in to town deep enough to be a danger.

  23. Another reason to vote for Trump

Obama Announces A Plan To Bring In Up To Four Times As Many Syrian Refugees In 2017

In 2016, approximately 10,000 Syrian refugees were brought into the United States, but in 2017 that number could skyrocket to 40,000 under Barack Obama’s new plan. Obama says that we must play our part in taking in those displaced by the ongoing Syrian civil war, but Republicans in Congress are outraged by this announcement and remain deeply concerned that there are terrorists among the refugees that are being brought in. The Obama administration insists that all refugees are being subjected to rigorous screening, but his critics are quite skeptical. Coming out of the midst of a five year civil war, documentation is scarce for many of these refugees, and there aren’t too many people that you can call over there that can serve as a solid reference at this point.

According to USA Today, the total number of refugees worldwide that will be brought in next year is scheduled to rise by 29 percent under Obama’s new plan…

  24. The Connection Between Al-Qaeda And Black Lives Matter, BLT

Al-Qaeda has been inciting blacks against whites for over a decade.

Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Zawahiri made a new video that appeared on September 9. It offers little that is new: 9/11 is again praised and portrayed as a product of Muslim grievances and payback for Western crimes; he vows a “thousand more” 9/11s; and warns against apostates being more dangerous than original infidels.

Only one angle stands out—again, not because it is new, but because it sheds light on a growing phenomenon: black violence against police in general, in the context of Black Lives Matter in particular. In last week’s video, Zawahiri called on American blacks to convert to Islam, asserting that they will never receive justice and will always live in “humiliation” until they convert to Islam and rebel against the “white majority.” He even showed footage of the Nation of Islam’s Malcolm X preaching.

While many conclude that al-Qaeda is opportunistically trying to exploit groups like BLT, the reality may be that BLT has from the start long been influenced by al-Qaeda’s rhetoric and propaganda (which, as usual, is quietly disseminated on the ground, not by al-Qaeda, but by its many Muslim sympathizers in America). For Zawahiri has in fact for years been calling on American blacks to turn against whites and quoting Malcolm X.

Nearly a decade ago, Zawahiri issued a similar message:

That’s why I want blacks in America, people of color, American Indians, Hispanics, and all the weak and oppressed in North and South America, in Africa and Asia, and all over the world, to know that when we wage jihad in Allah’s path, we aren’t waging jihad to lift oppression from Muslims only; we are waging jihad to lift oppression from all mankind, because Allah has ordered us never to accept oppression, whatever it may be…This is why I want every oppressed one on the face of the earth to know that our victory over America and the Crusading West — with Allah’s permission — is a victory for them, because they shall be freed from the most powerful tyrannical force in the history of mankind.

American blacks, however, were Zawahiri’s primary targets. He again praised and quoted from Malcolm X: “Anytime you beg another man to set you free, you will never be free. Freedom is something you have to do for yourself. The price of freedom is death.”

  25. GERMANY – Newspaper reveals terror attackers’ chats with Isis

In July two men carried out terror attacks in northern Bavaria within the space of a week. The Süddeutsche Zeitung has published the chilling contents of chats it reports the men had with the Isis terror group.

The first attack took place just south of Würzburg in northern Bavaria.

On July 18th Riaz A., a 17-year-old asylum seeker from Afghanistan boarded a train and started attacking passengers with an axe before fleeing into the night. He attacked another woman before police shot him dead.

Riaz A. had arrived in Germany without his parents and, according to investigators, had done nothing which would suggest he was a potential terrorist.

Six days later Mohammed D., a 27-year-old asylum seeker from Syria, detonated a bomb in Ansbach, also in northern Bavaria, and killed himself while injuring over a dozen other people.

Bavarian authorities found evidence that both men had links to the terror group Isis.

Now the Süddeutsche Zeitung has published the contents of chats the two men had with Isis agents, although it does not mention where it received the information.

In Riaz A.’s conversation with his Isis contact the teenager tells the man that he wants to carry out the attack with a knife and an axe.

“Would it not be better to use a car, brother?” the Isis agent asks.

The teenager responds that he doesn’t know how to drive. The Isis agent encourages him to learn.

“The damage would be considerably bigger,” he explains.

But Riaz A. says he “wants to enter paradise tonight.”

On the night of the attack the teenager is in contact with the Isis agent right up until the point of the attack. He encourages him to use an axe rather than a knife and assures him that Isis will take responsibility.

Just before he begins Riaz writes: “I’m starting now.”

The contact replies: “Now you will get into heaven.”

Six days later Mohammed D. had picked out Ansbach Open 2016, a music festival in the small Bavarian town, as his target. Again he was in contact with an Isis agent, the SZ reports.

“This place will be full of people,” Mohammed D. writes.

“Kill them all in a big area so that they all lie flat on the floor,” his contact responds.

But when the Syrian arrives at the festival he apparently hesitates due to security controls in place at the entrance.

“Search out a spot and run into the crowd. Break through the police and run for it,” the contact writes.

When Mohammed D. still hasn’t acted, the contact tells him: “Forget the festival and find a restaurant. What is wrong with you? I’d do it if there were two people there. Trust in God and go to the restaurant.”

At the restaurant Mohammed D. fatally wounded himself when he detonated the device. A further 15 people were injured.

After the two attacks a special police commission was set up in Bavaria to investigate how Isis aim to carry out terror attacks in Germany, the SZ reports.

The investigators in this commission believe that the jihaidsts search out potential recruits on the internet and then help them pick out targets and incite them to murder.

Contact with the Ansbach and Würzburg attackers is believed to have taken place over a period of months.

Arrests which took place on Tuesday in northern Germany also indicate that Isis has used the refugee routes to smuggle terrorists into Germany.

Three men with fake Syrian passports were arrested at refugee homes in Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein.

Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said that the men had used the same smuggling network to enter Europe as that used by the men who killed 130 people in terror attacks in Paris in November.

  26. Brexit and Norway: What to Avoid

    by Fjordman
    September 15, 2016 at 4:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/8892/brexit-norway

On June 23, 2016, 51.9% of the voters in the United Kingdom voted for leaving the European Union (EU). The turnout was high, and the British referendum gained great international attention. Marine Le Pen, leader of France’s National Front, praised the result, calling Brexit “the most important moment since the fall of the Berlin Wall.” Le Pen said that if she wins France’s 2017 presidential election she would call a referendum on leaving the EU.

Nigel Farage stepped down as leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) shortly after winning the historic vote. Many death threats against him and his family from supporters of the EU reportedly affected his decision.

The complicated divorce process between the UK and the EU could take years of negotiations. Some people have looked to Switzerland and Norway, two of the wealthiest countries in Europe, as possible models to follow, yet both maintain a close cooperation with the EU. There are also concerns in Switzerland and Norway about how Brexit will impact their own relationship with the EU.

Daniel Pedroletti, president of the Swiss community group New Helvetic Society London, says there is “a big misunderstanding” in Britain surrounding Switzerland’s position:

  27. CORSICA – Trial starts for men involved in Corsica beach brawl

The trial begins Thursday of five men involved in a violent brawl that injured five people and required 100 police officers to break up in a Corsican village in August. Lawyers have warned that “local tensions” could disrupt the proceedings.

Franck Rastoul, chief prosecutor for Bastia where the trial is set to take place, denied a request Thursday morning to hold the trial outside of Corsica. The request came from a lawyer for Mustafa, Abdelillah and Jamal Benhaddou, three brothers accused of provoking the brawl. A lawyer for the Benhaddou brothers said that “the serenity of the proceedings was threatened by local tensions”.

The brothers grew up on Corsica but were born in Morocco. Jamal and Mustafa Benhaddou live in the area of Bastia, Corsica’s second city, while Abdelillah Benhaddou lives in Spain. Mustafa is already known to the police, and has been convicted of weapons trafficking and drug offenses.

Also standing trial are Lucien Straboni, a baker, and Pierre Baldi, a civil servant, both from Sisco, the village where the brawl took place. Corsica’s independence party, Corsica Libera, has called for a demonstration in support of Straboni and Baldi during the proceedings.

    Beach brawl

According to the Bastia prosecutor and to eyewitness accounts published in the French daily Le Parisien on Tuesday, the August 13 brawl began after the Benhaddou brothers and their families blocked the entrance to a beach in Sisco with a panel in order to appropriate it for their private use. When an 18-year-old Sisco resident came to the beach, Mustafa tried to attack him with a knife, the paper reported.

Soon after, a crowd of Sisco villagers arrived at the beach to confront the Benhaddou family. Blows were exchanged, rocks were thrown, and cars were set on fire. Police and gendarmes had to intervene to stop the violence and evacuate members of the Benhaddou family who had been wounded. According to Le Parisien, Baldi kicked Jamal Benhaddou while he was on the ground, and Straboni punched Benhaddou while he was being evacuated.

    An ‘ethnicised’ incident?

Rumours and controversy have surrounded the investigation of the brawl, which came amid two years of intercommunity tension in Corsica. According to early reports from AFP, witnesses said the brawl broke out when tourists tried to take pictures of women bathing in burkinis, a type of swimwear worn by some Muslim women that covers everything but the face, hands and feet. However, later in August the prosecutor investigating the brawl said that no burkinis were involved.

The initial media reports linked the Corsica scuffle to a national debate that was taking place over burkinis and Islam during the summer after several French mayors banned burkinis from municipal beaches. Sisco’s mayor ordered a burkini ban the Monday after the brawl.

The federal prosecutor and the media have since been accused of “ethnicising” the Sisco incident. SOS Racisme, a French NGO, released a statement on August 18 saying that “the public authorities and the media complacently presented the brawl as a confrontation between ‘young Corsicans’ and ‘young people of North African origin’”.

    Mounting tensions

Corsica is known for its history of anti-outsider sentiment and violent nationalism. Although a French island, its culture was largely shaped by hundreds of years of invasions from North African Moors and Italian city-states.

“Corsican nationalism is very strong and sometimes it is tinged with what one [could] call, certainly, xenophobia,” Jacques Frémeaux, a professor of French colonial history at the Sorbonne, told FRANCE 24.

Although the “Isle of Beauty” was formally annexed to France in 1789, some Corsicans still see the French as outsiders or invaders, Frémeaux explained.

The National Liberation Front of Corsica, a separatist group, has claimed responsibility for hundreds of bombings and murders since its founding in 1976. In the early 2000s, some bombings targeted the island’s growing Muslim population.

The past two years have seen confrontations between Muslim and French residents that reached a climax on Christmas night in 2015, when two fireman were attacked while responding to a call in a poor immigrant-dominated neighbourhood of the capital, Ajaccio. The next day a Muslim prayer hall in the same neighbourhood was ransacked and copies of the Koran were partially burned. Two days of anti-Muslim protests in Ajaccio followed, with hundreds of marchers shouting, “This is our home!” and “Arabs get out”.

The Paris-based think tank National Consultative Commission of Human Rights found that in 2015 Corsica was the French region with the highest number of anti-Muslim incidents per capita.

  28. The Dirty Attorney General Going After Trump
“The Attorney General is doing everything possible to make sure Hillary Clinton is elected our next President.”

The Clinton Foundation is a national and international scandal. It’s under investigation by the FBI, but not by the Attorney General of New York, who is instead targeting the Trump Foundation.

The media has spent weeks suggesting the existence of an inappropriate political relationship between Trump and Florida AG Pam Bondi. And yet it’s cheering the wildly inappropriate relationship which has resulted in a member of Hillary’s leadership council investigating her political opponent.

Some months ago, the spokesman for Attorney General Eric Schneiderman had defended the trip he made to Miami Beach using donor money because he was fundraising for Hillary Clinton.

“This year, the Attorney General is doing everything possible to make sure Hillary Clinton is elected our next President.”

No one can argue with that as he abuses his office to launch his second legal attack on Trump.

Attorney General Schneiderman had previously made headlines for joining a group named “AGs United for Clean Power” to harass companies that questioned Global Warming. Some might have thought that blatantly identifying with one industry while harassing another would mean that Eric had hit peak conflict of interest. But then he opened an investigation into a rival political campaign.

  29. Attorney General Investigating Trump: “Doing Everything… to Make Sure Hillary Clinton is Elected”

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman got plenty of media headlines and cheers for his latest “investigation” of Trump. But as I reveal in today’s article, his agenda is so blatant that it defies belief that it isn’t being covered.

Now meanwhile look at CBS’s coverage.

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, a Hillary Clinton supporter, on Wednesday said that his investigation into the Trump Foundation isn’t “political,” and he’s looking into whether the organization followed state rules.

“This is not political,” Schneiderman said in an interview with “CBS This Morning.” “I regulate the nonprofits in New York state. I have a charities bureau [that looks] at every nonprofit that does business in New York state to see if they are following the rules.”

  30. Majority of Americans Say Country is Less Great

Another sad roadmarker that shows how many people have lost confidence. 45% of Americans feel that the country is less great than it was vs only 37% who believe that it is just as great. Only 16% believe that it has grown greater.

This is one of those numbers that just jumps out at you in communicating the lack of national confidence. There’s hardly anyone anymore who believes that we are becoming greater. The best they can do is argue unconvincingly that we’re running in place.

  31. Obama’s Majority Muslim Refugee Program Hiked to 110,000

Since we just don’t have enough Islamic terror plots in this country, Obama wants to drastically boost migrant refugee numbers.

The Obama administration is pressing ahead with plans to boost the number of refugees it will allow into the U.S. as a national debate rages over immigration and security.

The increase to 110,000 represents a nearly 30 percent increase over the current fiscal year. It is also a more than 57 percent jump since 2015

Of the 110,000 the U.S. intends to begin admitting at least 40,000 are from the Near East and South Asia, a White House senior administration official said. And most of those are likely to be people escaping the brutal Syrian civil war, even as many GOP lawmakers and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump sound the alarm about terrorists in the midst of the refugees.

In short, they’re going to be Muslim. Because Obama has done everything possible to keep Christians out short of hanging up a big sign saying, “No Christians Allowed’.

  32. Dem Senator Refuses to Deny Report Hillary Couldn’t Climb Steps

While Hillary Clinton is reportedly back on the campaign trail, her health remains a campaign issue. And the Powell email hack has only added fuel to the fire. One email exchange contained an interesting mention about her health issues.

Leeds, a business partner to former secretary of state Colin Powell, revealed in a March 14, 2015 exchange with Powell that Whitehouse, Rhode Island’s junior senator, had made a comment about Clinton’s ailing health. “Sheldon Whitehouse, who is a huge Clinton supporter said they were both giving speeches at the same event a few months back and she could barely climb the podium steps,” Leeds wrote.

Neither Democratic Rhode Island Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse nor Jeffrey Leeds, a prominent Democratic financier in New York City, responded to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.

  33. Also In Hillary’s ‘Basket’: Working Americans, Religious People, Stay-at-Home Moms
The long history of Clinton’s invective against ordinary citizens.

Hillary Clinton’s infamous “basket of deplorables” remark revealed her utter contempt for ordinary Americans, which stretches back decades. Before an adoring audience of wealthy elites, Hillary dismissed millions of American citizens, who happen to support her opponent Donald Trump, as being “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic.” She said they are “irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America.”

Hillary Clinton had no compunctions about branding millions of her fellow citizens “irredeemable” and “not America,” while saying on another occasion that we must show “respect” to our enemies and “empathize with their perspective and point of view.” Moreover, she wants to vastly enlarge the basket for “refugees” admitted from the Middle East, without sufficiently robust vetting in place first to make sure that jihadist terrorists don’t find their way into that basket.

After coming under withering attack for insulting so many hardworking, patriotic Americans, Hillary half-apologized: “I regret saying ‘half’ – that was wrong.” What is really wrong is Hillary’s 100 percent condescending attitude towards ordinary Americans who do not inhabit her insular bubble of self-righteous snobs. And her condescension is a deeply engrained character trait she has evidenced for years in her attitude towards stay-at-home moms, working people, parents who do not want government interference in how they raise their children and people with religious beliefs that are not in accord with her secular progressive ideology.

  34. GERMANY – Controversial artist risks Erdogan’s wrath with THIS hilariously offensive picture

AN ARTIST is causing controversy after creating an image of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan – with a banana up his bum.

Thomas Baumgärtel, known as the banana sprayer, had his artwork rejected by galleries on multiple occasions, before one German art house finally agreed to hang his offensive work.

In the image Mr Erdogan appears in a shirt and tie, stripped from the waist, bending over with the fruit hanging from his backside.

The provocative picture has raised eyebrows, and would undoubtedly anger the President.

But the curator of the Kunstverein Langenfeld defended its decision.

The artist, who was born in Rheinberg and lives in Cologne, drew comparisons with the poem by Jan Böhmermann which deeply offend Mr Erdogan who issued a defamation complaint.

Mr Baumgärtel said: “The poem’s been an artful action in its character and its expression, which unfortunately no one understood.”

No gallery wanted to show the artwork as a result – until now.

Mr Baumgärtel said: “All gallery owners have refrained.”

The banana sprayer now has a solo show at the Langenfeld Kunstverein.

Curator Beate Domdey-Fehlau said it was important to the gallery to show the image.

She said: “His paintings are not only fun and provocative, but they also draw fire current political issues and scandals.

    “Art has a political mandate

“Art is politics.” That artist would have fear in Germany today, to show their works, they feel extremely frightening.

“Who does not want to see, it does not need to look,” says the curator. But the freedom of art go over everything.”

  35. Hillary Clinton: Basket Case
Who really belongs in the basket of deplorables?

On September 10, 2016 Fox News reported, “Clinton: Half Of Trump Supporters ‘Basket Of Deplorables’ — ‘Racist, Sexist…You Name It.’”

This is the same Hillary Clinton whose campaign slogan, “Stronger Together” clearly does not include Americans who support Donald Trump and the effective enforcement of our immigration laws.

My recent article “Balkanized America: Politicians, pollsters, and pundits are all responsible for the nation’s division” addressed the way that Americans are being turned against each other by flawed polls and the disgusting notion that voters’ desires are determined by their race, religion or ethnicity.

This is the parallel universe of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and their immigration anarchist cohorts wherein “Latino voters” supposedly oppose border security and effective immigration law enforcement.

To suggest that the conduct, goals and aspirations of Americans can be predicted solely by their race is, by definition, a blatant example of racism. This constitutes a vile form of profiling that would never be and should never be tolerated if done by law enforcement officers.

  39. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/world/spanish-train-driver-stops-300km-from-destination-after-shift-finishes-a3345471.html

A defiant Spanish train driver left over 100 passengers stranded 300km from their destination after stopping apparently because his shift had ended.

The train from Spain’s north coast suddenly stopped in the village of Osorno at 9.15pm, two hours away from its destination of Madrid.

After waiting for 15 minutes, confused passengers eventually discovered the driver was refusing to work overtime so had simply stopped for the day. He had reportedly requested a replacement numerous times.

People took to the streets across France on Thursday to once again protest the government’s controversial labor reforms. Violent clashes with police were reported in Paris and Nantes where tear gas was used.
Around 170,000 people participated in protests across the country on Thursday, CGT trade union representatives told AFP.

However, according to estimates by the French authorities, 78,000 people took part in the walk-out.

  41. http://www.theamericanconservative.com/larison/the-horrifying-starvation-of-yemen-continues/

Much of the civilian population of Yemen is being starved to death. As I have said many times before, the Saudi-led blockade is primarily responsible for cutting Yemen off from its food supply. These are some of the consequences:

A boy lies on a hospital bed in Yemen’s port city of Al-Hudaydah. His eyes are full of life, but his skinny body tells another story: His arm is so thin that he can wrap his lips around it. His ribs stick out under his skin. He is one of 1.5 million children in Yemen who are suffering from malnutrition [bold mine-DL].
