Two Palestinians stormed a Jerusalem synagogue on Tuesday, attacking worshippers praying inside with knives, axes and guns, and killing four. Police killed the attackers in a shootout.
Pictures posted online showed a bloodied meat cleaver at the scene of the attack, along with heavily blood-stained floors and bodies covered in shawls.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel will ‘respond harshly’ to the attack, which he described as the ‘cruel murder of Jews who came to pray and were killed by despicable murderers’.
A Muslim convert, stripped of his British citizenship because of alleged extremism, is appealing to the Supreme Court that he has been left stateless.
The man, only identified as “B2”, lost his British citizenship in 2011.
The Home Secretary used nationality powers to withdraw his citizenship because of his alleged activity.

“Indonesia must stop subjecting female police recruits to a physical test to try and determine whether they are virgins, a leading human rights group said Tuesday, describing the practice as degrading and discriminatory. Human Rights Watch said in a report that such tests were a longstanding practice in Indonesia, where patriarchal attitudes and practices in the security forces are common.
The report was based on interviews with female police officers and police applicants in six Indonesian cities who had undergone the so called “two-finger” test to determine whether their hymens are intact. The group said medical experts said such tests were useless in determining virginity. Indonesian police spokesman Maj. Gen. Ronny Sompie urged people not “respond negatively” to the tests, saying they were aimed at ensuring applicants were free from sexually transmitted diseases. “All of this is done in a professional manner and did not harm the applicants,” Sompie said.
Human Rights Watch has documented the use of abusive virginity tests by police in several other countries, including Egypt, India and Afghanistan. In a video interview recorded by the group, a 24-year-old Indonesian woman said she was among 20 applicants who underwent the test.
“I feared that after they performed the test I would not be a virgin anymore,” she told the group in silhouette video interview. “They inserted two fingers with gels … it really hurt.””

KENYA – NOV 18 2014 Pastor, three others killed in Mombasa
In one incident, a pastor who was waiting at a bus stop with four women was accosted by the youth and chopped with machetes.
He was cut in the back of his head and in his hands and left sprawled on the ground bleeding. He died on the spot.
The women were, however, left unharmed. One of them, who was said to be the wife of the deceased, identified him as Pastor Joshua Muteti.
The incident took place in the Bakarani area, Kisauni, in Mombasa County.
Police could not be reached for comment and the OCPD’s phone went unanswered.
A relative of another victim said the youths, who were wearing army fatigues, also carried a black flag.
He said that they were singing loudly as they moved, asking the names of the victims before attacking them with the machetes.
He added that the youths numbered more than ten.

Four people were killed in Mombasa on Monday night after armed youth attacked residents in Kisauni area.
The youths were protesting against the raid on two mosques Sunday night that led to the killing of one person.
According to police, the group was armed with crude weapons when they attacked residents of Kisauni and confronted police officers.
Police believe the attackers are sympathizers of the Al Shabaab terror group.
Kisauni Police Boss Richard Ngatia said that more than twenty youths have been arrested following the attacks and will be arraigned in court today
The incident comes a day after scores were arrested and one person killed during a raid that was carried out targeting Masjid Musa and Sakina in Majengo and Kisauni area.
Mombasa OCPD Geoffrey Mayek confirmed the raid saying it was a security operations.
Police said that they recovered knives, pistols and grenades during the operation
The operation commenced at around 2.am on Sunday.

At least three people have been stabbed to death by rampaging youths in the Kenyan city of Mombasa, officials say.
The attacks came hours after police raided two mosques they accuse of having links with militant Islamists in neighbouring Somalia.
One person was killed in the police raids and more than 200 were arrested.
Witnesses said masked youths armed with machetes then went on the rampage in the Kisauni area of the city, attacking people waiting at bus stops.
Several others were injured in the attacks, which were carried out in apparent revenge for the police action.
‘Raids condemned’
“We are investigating the incident and have arrested some of the suspects,” local police chief Richard Ngatia said.
Some of the youths were reported to be carrying black flags similar to one recovered in the raids on the Musa and Sakinah mosques.
Police said they had also seized a pistol and a cache of ammunition, including grenades, in the raids.
They say the mosques have links with the Somali militant Islamist group, al-Shabab, and have been used to recruit and train militants and store weapons.
Muslim clerics and human rights groups have condemned the raids, which they say will only reinforce feelings that police are targeting the entire Muslim community in Mombasa, a coastal city which is a popular tourist destination.
Mombasa County commissioner Nelson Marwa said three people had been killed by the rampaging youth. Relatives and hospital staff reported four deaths.
In February, a similar raid at the Musa mosque led to violent protests. The mosque was once controlled by the radical cleric Sheikh Abud Rogo, who was killed in 2012.
There have been a number of bombings and shootings in Mombasa since 2011 when Kenyan troops entered Somalia to attack al-Shabab.

UK – Birmingham – Muslim surgeon Nafees Hamid guilty of sexually abusing women patients while examining them
A neurosurgeon has been jailed for 16 years after being found guilty of nine indecent assaults against patients at two Birmingham hospitals.
Nafees Hamid, 51, had denied a total of 15 charges relating to 10 women between 2009 and 2013 at the city’s Queen Elizabeth and Priory hospitals.
A jury at Birmingham Crown Court convicted him of assaults on six patients.
In passing sentence, the judge said it was “the most extreme breach of trust”.
Judge Patrick Thomas QC, who heard that Hamid will now be struck off, also ordered him to sign the sex offender register for life.
