  1. Canada to Pay for Ditched Launch Contract with Russia – Moscow

Canada will have to pay – both in terms of money and reputation – for a decision to ditch the launch of its satellite by a Russian rocket, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said Friday.

Commenting on the Canadian media reports that the government’s hard line on sanctions against Russia has scuttled the launch of what was described to be a “key Canadian military satellite,” Rogozin wrote in his Twitter that Canada will “certainly” have to pay the forfeit.

In addition, the Canadian government exposed the true military purpose of its satellite, claimed to be a civilian one, he said.

“The Canadians screwed things up. They refused to launch the satellite and admitted that it was a military one, despite earlier assurances of its civilian purpose,” Rogozin said.

The M3MSat was to be launched from the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan on June 19. The spacecraft is intended for sea surveillance and was to operate jointly with the RADARSAT-2 orbiter.

Canadian media said the government was currently looking for another state or private space contractor to carry out the launch.

Canada was among the first to join targeted sanctions, including asset freezes and visa bans, imposed on a number of senior Russian officials and businessmen whom the West accuses of involvement in Crimea’s reunification with Russia.

A number of Western officials have since been calling for even tougher sanctions on Russia, including against key sectors of its economy – such as space, defense and energy.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper earlier said that Ottawa could impose sanctions targeting Russian banks.

On Tuesday, Moscow expelled the first secretary of the Canadian embassy in Moscow in response to the recent expulsion of a staff member of the Russian embassy in Ottawa, a source in the Russian Foreign Ministry told RIA Novosti.

  2. UKRAINE – April 26 2014 – RIA Novosti Obtaines Satellite Photos Showing Ukrainian Military Buildup Near Slaviansk

MOSCOW, April 26 (RIA Novosti) — RIA Novosti obtained the satellite photos which clearly show heavy buildup of Ukraine’s military weapons and equipment on the border with Russia, as well as in Ukraine’s Slaviansk suburbs, in the North of the Donetsk region, where clashes between pro-federalization protesters and Ukrainian interim government continue.

[…] According to his data, the grouping is comprised of more than 15,000 Ukrainian military servicemen and the home reserve, there are around 160 tanks, 230 infantry combat vehicles and armored personnel carriers, as well as no less than 150 rifles, mine throwers and RMs (multiple-launch rocket systems of Grad and Smerch types).

  3. Just like to make the observation that the obama regime would probably enjoy the prospect of a bunch of white folks killing each other.

  4. Ukraine: Pro-Russian rebels parade latest captives for the press

Pro-Russian rebels in Ukraine have been showing their latest captives to reporters.

Separatists holding the trio in Slovyansk say the men are officers from the state security service in Kyiv, sent on a spying mission to the east.

Russian TV images showed the men blindfolded, gagged, handcuffed and tied to chairs.

Like European military observers seized earlier, a prisoner exchange with detained pro-Russian activists is being demanded for their release.

  5. Der Spiegel – April 27 2014 – Ukraine supplies syrian jihadists since 2011 (SPIEGEL report)

According to the german magazine DER SPIEGEL, the Ukraine supplies syrian islamistic rebels with rifle typs of SKS Simonow. The ukrainian state concern Ukroboronprom sends the weapons over Germany to Syria. It is not clear, to which place in Germany the weapons are transported, the german foreign department denied a statement. The rifles were send to Germany for “modifications”, an official said to SPIEGEL.

The magazine citated the american Think Tank Jamestown Foundation (connected with US-Spy Agencies). The Think Tank believes, that the weapons are sent from Germany to syrian rebels. Jamestown speaks about a number over 54 000 rifles for jihadists supplies only in 2011 and 2012. “They could be used for covert operations in syria”, Jamestown said to SPIEGEL.
The german government doesn’t want to investigate the shipments. The lawmaker of the german parlament, Sevim Dagdelen said: “It is scandalous, that the german government can’t say anything about the actual place of the weapons.” It would be very possible, that the weapons reached jihadists in Syria.

  7. Obama talks tough and tries to throw around the US weight while destroying the US military, all of the worlds governments know it will take a year of crash rebuilding and training before the US can do much of a military intervention.

The troops he is sending to the former Soviet Republics are for show only, there aren’t enough to be a serious threat and all they can do if war breaks out is die uselessly.

  8. The first man’s beard is nice. Symmetrical, wavy, soft-looking. The younger one looks like the last Tsar. Shapely golden beard, bright blue eyes.
