2. Last year, 17 people in the Netherlands died in honour killings (update)
The figures were collated by police experts on honour-related crimes. In addition to the 17 deaths, there were also 12 attempted murders, the experts’ report said. Five people were reported as ‘missing’.
‘Ten of the murder victims were men and seven were women. Sixteen men and three women were considered as suspects in the killings,’ the report said, without giving further details.
3. Update: Police accuse man over Islamic book after Prague mosque raid
Prague, April 26 (?TK) — The Czech police have accused the editor of a book on Islam of promoting a movement suppressing human rights and freedoms after a raid in two Prague centers of the Islamic Foundation on Friday, Pavel Hanták, spokesman for the police unit fighting organized crime (ÚOOZ), told CTK today.
The suspect is a 55-year-old man who has Czech citizenship. He had the controversial book translated to Czech and he provided for its publishing and distribution.
he man may end up in prison for up to 10 years.
Within the raid, about 20 people were questioned and several of them may be expelled from the country.
Hanták said the police decided not to release the name of the book because they do not want to advertise it in this way.

“A law has come into force in Turkey giving the secret services greater powers of surveillance and extending immunity for its agents. The law also provides for prison terms of up to 10 years for journalists who publish leaked information.
It is the latest in a series of measures which critics say are designed to bolster the power of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He is accused of introducing the measures to stifle corruption scandals.
The new law extends the ability of secret service agents to conduct foreign operations, tap phone conversations and to access data held by private and public institutions. Kemal Kilicdaroglu, leader of the main opposition Republican People’s Party, has said the law has effectively turned Turkey into an “intelligence state”.
Mr Erdogan has accused police, prosecutors and judges of being behind leaked information implicating him in a corruption scandal. Earlier this year, recordings surfaced online purportedly of Mr Erdogan and his son Bilal discussing how to hide large sums of money.
Another scandal broke when a video on the YouTube website emerged appearing to reveal top officials discussing how to stage an undercover attack inside Syria….”

YouTube to respect Islamic laws and customs
Content providers to the video-sharing website will have to follow “rules and conditions” that respect “the nature of society and laws”, this according to president of the country’s General Authority for Audiovisual Media, a move deemed “alarming, a threat for us,” his according to a content producer.
Dubai (AsiaNews/Agencies) – Saudi authorities plan to regulate local companies producing content for YouTube, this in the world’s top per capita user of the video-sharing website.
Dissatisfaction over state broadcasters’ staid programming and societal restrictions have created a uniquely captive audience for web-based entertainment.
The General Authority for Audiovisual Media, a recently formed watchdog, will soon issue a manifesto to organise – or regulate – the work of YouTube channels, said its president, Ryiadh Najm.
The plan will include rules and conditions that will be “in accordance with the nature of society and laws in this context”, Najm said, whilst allowing it to embrace “these talents and developing their artistic and technical abilities”.
The proposed new rules follow a new Saudi law that defines as terrorist any act that “disturbs public order, shakes the security of society, or subjects its national unity to danger, or obstructs the primary system of rule or harms the reputation of the state”.
Until now, Saudi YouTube programme makers have been able to operate without a licence because they are not actual broadcasters.
Channels like UTURN Entertainment and C3 have attracted more than 500 million views for their various YouTube shows as of mid-September 2013.
“Until we see the details, it’s a bit alarming, a threat for us,” said Kaswara Al Khatib, chairman and chief executive of UTURN Entertainment.
“The whole idea is to regulate it in a way to make sure where the areas are to be played with and the areas that should not be touched,” said Al Khatib.
