They used to say that Beirut was the “Paris of the Middle East”. That honour now clearly falls on Alexandria Egypt. The video below reminds me so much of Paris in the spring.

So the referendum will be held and it will go in favor of the Islamists then Morsi will have legitimacy for whatever the heck he wants to do. I don’t see how the Muslim Brotherhood can lose from this point on, as long as they proceed with a certain sense of timing. The people of Egypt have brought this on themselves and will now have to live with the consequence of being driven into a religious dictatorship similar to the one in Iran. It was obvious that this was going to happen, now they can gape in horror as it does happen. Perhaps their general stupidity can be blamed on the fact that they marry their cousins. Who can say…
Your comment about Paris is disturbingly spot-on. A couple of years ago, you could see africans parading in the streets of paris. Brandishing machetes. (That was when riots broke out because that firm that had promised the distribution of free money failed to follow up on its promise). 20-30-40-50 years ago, it was unthinkable that the day one could behold such a vision, would actually come. My point: these people don’t belong in western democracies. Remove them. Before it’s too late and they drag us down with them.
