2012 Olympics in London promise to potentially have the most personal fireworks of Olympic history.

Here are parts from two news items pertaining to security at the Olympics which would tend to make me want to watch them on TV:

1. From the Daily Mail:

Olympic Heli-snipers: Patrolling the Games from above… the sharpshooters who can kill from a mile away

  • RAF snipers will be armed with high calibre rifles that can penetrate concrete and destroy engine blocks

Snipers on board military helicopters will patrol the skies over  London during next summer’s Olympic Games.

Sources say the military crackshots – dubbed ‘heli-snipers’ by defence chiefs – will fly above the capital  in case terrorists attempt an atrocity at the prestigious event.

The RAF snipers are understood to have been training recently at the restricted Lydd military live-firing range near the Kent coast to sharpen their skills.

And now, Sikhs can wear a knife to the Olympics so long as they call it a Kirpan. I wonder if I could go in with a Colt 45 if I call it a Mezuzah.

  1. In fact are they not giving everyone the opportunity( for the price ofa a little pretense) to be armed against the muzzies menace. The first rule of tyranny is to disarm the populace. I am a firm gun nut. But if a gun is not available I will get a knife and call it whatever the PC crew want me to call it as long as I can protect myself with it.
