Every day and often every hour I find a news bit about Islamic activities in the world that still manage to shock frighten and perhaps worst of all, disappoint the hell out of me.
This article is about a 13 year old daughter of a Christian minister in Bangladesh who was gang raped to intimidate her family, and the police doing all they can not to act on the complaint.
I am disappointed because each day some little piece of me which hopes that a common value set exists between western liberal thinking and Islam gets destroyed a little bit more. A common thread that might allow a resolution to these problems in some peaceful way.
