If any of our readers are in or able to get to Toronto tomorrow, please consider checking out what we have been told is going to be a protest, estimated to be 100,000 strong, protesting the Islamic regime in Iran.
This will be an actual grass roots protest, unlike the paid planned anti-Israel ones that have been going for a few years now.
Hundreds of busses are scheduled from Montreal to go to Toronto, and many are coming from nearby USA as well. One might imagine that the protest will at least go past the Iranian consulate in Toronto.
From X’s Grok AI:
- Date & Time: Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM (with major impacts from ~11 AM to 6 PM).
- Location: Starts at Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue (North York, near Centerpoint Shopping Centre). The march heads south along Yonge Street for about 3.8–4 km, ending around North York Boulevard.
- Expected Size: Police and organizers are preparing for up to 200,000+ people (potentially even bigger than the ~150,000 who turned out on Feb 1). It’s part of coordinated global rallies in LA, Munich, and elsewhere, supporting Iran’s “Lion and Sun Revolution” against the regime.
This follows a huge Feb 1 protest in downtown Toronto (Sankofa Square to Queen’s Park) that drew massive crowds with zero arrests.Traffic & Logistics (from Toronto Police)
- Yonge Street fully closed from Steeles Ave to North York Blvd (11 AM–5 PM).
- Parking banned on Yonge from Steeles to Sheppard (8 AM–6 PM) and nearby side streets.
- TTC adjustments: 97 Yonge bus detours; limited access to North York Centre Station (use Sheppard instead).
- Expect heavy delays—avoid the area if you can.
