The question now becomes, will this, like the hundred other speeches we have seen by the reality minded, make any difference whatsoever?
Certainly knowing the truth and having it in the open is prerequisite. But having agency and ability and tools to act is another matter.
Forgive me, but like the gun control debate, if any of this was about right, decency, logic, reasonableness, honour, or the truth, we would not still be having these discussions.
I certainly applaud this lady for her clarity, and for taking the opportunity to say these things. It is unfortunate, but all the truth we can muster, however plain it might be, will not stop or divert the forces in this world that have determined that things shall be a certain way, come hell or high water, and you & I are simply obstacles to be removed. Not overtly, not with two in the back of the head by the roadside (at least, not yet), but over time, through a gradual degradation of our lifestyles, our health, our nutrition, our hopes.
Decisions were taken, decades past, and those choices are now being unveiled without further regard for secrecy, because the only solutions to them are, for most people, unthinkable. This will not last much longer.
Again, this is the truth of things. Again, each of us needs to understand our task.
It is to decide. What. To. Do.
It only gets more difficult from here on.
