Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  1. A quick look at false government statistics. The recent Consumer Price Index print showed inflation dropping. This is similar to telling you the covid injection is harmless. In reaction to this bold lie the markets exploded upward, while precious metals declined. Comfort yourself that inflation is dropping the next time you fill your pickup up for $175, or buy a small steak for $25.

  3. Smoking Gun: Rep. Andy Biggs Releases Timeline Proving Biden’s Direct Collusion with Prosecutors to Take Down Trump (VIDEO)
    by Jim H?ft Jun. 14, 2024 7:30 am275 Comments

In an explosive revelation, Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) disclosed a meticulously detailed timeline during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday, casting a glaring spotlight on a concerted effort between the Biden regime and key prosecutors to undermine former President Donald Trump.

The committee convened on Thursday to dissect the political motivations behind Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s legal actions against Trump.
Per the House Judiciary Committee’s webpage:

“On April 4, 2023, after campaigning on his experience in investigating President Trump and in response to intense pressure from left-wing activists, Bragg charged President Trump with 34 felony counts for falsifying business records. Falsifying business records is ordinarily a misdemeanor subject to a two-year statute of limitations, which would have expired long ago. While Bragg is systematically downgrading most felonies in Manhattan to misdemeanors, he used a novel and untested legal theory—previously declined by federal prosecutors—to upgrade the charges against President Trump to felonies. Bragg’s case against President Trump has beset by due process and procedural irregularities.”

During the hearing, Rep. Andy Biggs presented this timeline as evidence of an orchestrated collusion between the Biden regime and prosecutors to take down Trump.

  4. (Richard: Another ruling that supports the Constitution, regulatory agencies can’t change the rules, the only group that can do that is Congress. The libs know that most of their agenda will never be passed by Congress so they try to use activist Judges and regulatory agencies to achieve their goals, the Constitutionalist/Originalist Judges appointed by President Trump are not letting this happen and when the opportunity arises are reversing the damage.)

Supreme Court rules gun ‘bump stocks’ ban is unlawful
The ban was imposed by the Trump administration after the accessory was used during the 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas.

WASHINGTON — In a loss for the Biden administration, the Supreme Court on Friday ruled that federal ban on “bump stocks,” gun accessories that allow semi-automatic rifles to fire more quickly, is unlawful.

In a 6-3 ruling on ideological lines with the court’s conservatives in the majority, the court held that an almost 100-year-old law aimed at banning machine guns cannot legitimately be interpreted to include bump stocks.

Writing for the majority, Justice Clarence Thomas said that a firearm equipped with the accessory does not meet the definition of “machinegun” under federal law.

The ruling prompted a vigorous dissent from liberal Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

“When I see a bird that walks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, I call that bird a duck,” she wrote. Sotomayor also took the rare step of reading a summary of her dissent in court.

Even with the federal ban out of the picture, bump stocks will still not be readily available nationwide. Eighteen states have already banned them, according to Everytown for Gun Safety, a nonprofit gun-control group. Congress could also act.

The Trump administration the imposed prohibition after the Las Vegas mass shooting in 2017, in which Stephen Paddock used bump stock-equipped firearms to open fire on a country music festival, initially killing 58 people.

The Supreme Court in 2019 declined to block the regulation. The already conservative court has tilted further to the right since then, with conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett, a Trump appointee, replacing liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died in 2020.

Federal Judge Vacates the ATF’s Pistol Brace Rule

A Texas Federal District Judge vacated the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF) Final Rule for pistol stabilizing devices.

At the request of President Joe Biden, ATF introduced a new rule that reclassified pistols equipped with pistol stabilizing devices. The new classification considered pistol braces stocks. Therefore, any pistol with a brace would be viewed as a short-barreled rifle (SBR). Since any rifle with a barrel under 16 inches is regulated under the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA), anyone with a brace installed on a pistol would have to register their firearm with the ATF. Failure to do so would mean that the owner could be committing a felony in the eyes of the ATF. The penalty for violating the NFA could land a person in prison for ten years and force them to pay a $250,000 fine. This fine and sentence is the same punishment for having an unregistered machine gun.

Before the rule was enacted, several gun organizations filed for injunctions preventing the ATF from enforcing the rule. All these gun rights organizations received injunctions. Eventually, a nationwide injunction would be issued. One of these cases was Mock v. Garland, filed by the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC). After an original loss, FPC would appeal to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, where a panel of three judges would rule that the organization was entitled to a preliminary injunction and remanded the case back to the District Court level.
Both the Plaintiffs and the Defendants asked District Court Judge Reed O’Connor for summary judgment. The ATF wanted the Court to allow the rule to be enforced. FPC wanted the rule to be completely struck down. The ATF claimed that the Fifth Circuit’s decision did not bind the District Court’s decision. Judge O’Connor said that even if that was the case, he agreed with the Fifth Circuit’s reasoning.

Hunter Biden’s Conviction, A Future Appeal & What It Means for Your 2nd Amendment ~ VIDEO
Ammoland Inc. Posted on June 14, 2024 by F Riehl, Editor in Chief

    Opinion

    YouTube video player

In a recent episode of Four Boxes Diner, Mark Smith, a constitutional attorney and staunch Second Amendment advocate, delved into the implications of Hunter Biden’s conviction on gun-related charges and what it could mean for gun rights in America. The discussion centered around Biden’s upcoming appeal and its potential impact on Second Amendment jurisprudence.
    The Case and Its Repercussions

Hunter Biden was convicted for possessing a firearm while being a user of illegal drugs, which is a violation of federal law under 18 USC 922(g). Additionally, he was found guilty of lying on a federal form to purchase the gun. While these charges might seem straightforward, they raise significant questions about how the Second Amendment is applied and interpreted.
    Appeal and Potential Implications

Biden’s legal team is expected to argue that the charges against him are unconstitutional under the Second Amendment. This appeal could set a precedent for how the law treats individuals with similar convictions in the future. Specifically, the argument may focus on whether non-violent drug users should lose their right to own firearms, which could potentially reshape gun rights for many Americans.
    Two Systems of Justice?

    SCROLL DOWN TO CONTINUE READING

Smith points out a stark contrast in how justice is meted out in cases involving politically influential figures. He highlights the differing approaches taken by prosecutors towards Hunter Biden and former President Donald Trump, suggesting a disparity that reflects a two-tiered justice system. While Biden faces charges for personal misconduct, the scrutiny appears to stop short of implicating his associates or family, unlike the exhaustive investigations often directed at Trump’s allies.
    The Bigger Picture

The upcoming appeal could have broader implications for gun rights in America. The central issue is whether the government can restrict gun ownership for non-violent offenders. The outcome of Biden’s appeal might influence future legislation and legal interpretations, potentially affecting a wide range of people who find themselves on the wrong side of similar charges.
    What to Watch For

As the case progresses, it’s crucial to keep an eye on the legal arguments presented and the court’s decisions. These developments could either reinforce current gun control measures or lead to a significant rollback, expanding gun rights for non-violent individuals who have run afoul of the law. This case is not just about Hunter Biden; it’s about the future of the Second Amendment and the balance between public safety and individual rights.
    Stay Informed

For those interested in defending their Second Amendment rights, staying informed about cases like this is essential. Mark Smith and Four Boxes Diner provide valuable insights and analysis, ensuring that you have the information you need to understand and advocate for your rights effectively.

Remember, the fight for gun rights is ongoing, and understanding the legal landscape is a critical part of that battle. Whether you’re a seasoned advocate or just beginning to explore these issues, keeping up with cases like Hunter Biden’s will help you stay prepared and informed.

Hunter Biden is Gun Control’s Voldermort

It’s actually even worse than that. After all, in Harry Potter they got around mentioning Voldemort by referring to him as He Who Shall Not Be Named. In the case of Hunter Biden, gun control groups don’t want to refer to him in even the obliquest of terms. He’s a non-entity as far as they’re concerned.

Yesterday I wrote about the silence from anti-gun orgs during Biden’s trial and after his conviction, and took a swipe at the media for aiding and abetting the self-censorship from Everytown, Brady, and other gun groups. Coincidentally (or not), a few hours after that post was published POLITICO became the first “mainstream” media outlet to note the refusal of groups like Brady, Giffords, and Everytown to discuss Biden’s case.

In the day since President Joe Biden’s son was found guilty of owning a gun while being a drug user and lying about his drug use on a purchase form, POLITICO asked seven top gun control groups how they are navigating the verdict and likely appeal. Several advocates were asked directly if they believe — as the president’s son argues — that it is unconstitutional to ban drug users from possessing guns.

Not a single one commented on the case or the broader legal question, underscoring how uncomfortable the politics around the case are for the gun control groups pushing hard for Biden’s reelection.

“That’s all about politics,” said a gun violence prevention activist, granted anonymity due to the political sensitivities. “This is just: ‘No, we’re not going to get in the middle of this shitstorm. Nothing good can come of it.’”

That was the only anti-gun activist POLITICO quoted, so apparently even the offer of anonymity isn’t enough to get gun control advocates to open up about Hunter Biden’s case or the statute he was convicted of violating.

I’ll give POLITICO some credit for at least reporting on the silence from the gun control lobby, though the outlet should have called out by name the seven groups that turned down their request for comment. We can assume the big players in the movement like Everytown, Brady, and Giffords all refused to answer POLITICO’s questions, but I’d like to know what other outfits turned them away without responding.

I expected that POLITICO would find a talking head or two who would offer comment on the radio silence from gun control groups, but maybe that was just as impossible as finding an anti-gun activist willing to speak on the record, because the rest of POLITICO’s story is basically a rehash of Joe Biden’s speech to Everytown hours after Biden’s conviction, as well as an explainer on the Second Amendment argument that Hunter Biden is likely to raise on appeal.

They did note that Second Amendment groups have been much more open about Hunter’s trial and conviction, even if they’re not exactly on the same page.

Second Amendment advocates have been much more vocal on the conviction than their restrictionist opponents. The National Rifle Association issued a statement obliquely praising the conviction.

“The National Rifle Association has always stood for the lawful use and possession of firearms. Mr. Biden’s documented lifestyle choices at the time of purchasing a firearm made him a prohibited person under current law,” said Randy Kozuch, executive director of the NRA Institute for Legislative Action, in a statement to POLITICO. The NRA did not respond to a follow-up question on whether the organization believes the Second Amendment allows for bans on drug users from having guns.

Other gun rights organizations used the verdict to bolster their push for looser gun laws. The Firearms Policy Coalition reiterated an offer to aid Hunter Biden in his challenge.

“Countless lives are destroyed every year under the federal government’s unconstitutional and immoral regulations. We proudly work to eliminate these laws and create a free world. Just as we have in many other cases, we stand ready to assist Mr. Biden in his challenge of federal gun laws,” said FPC President Brandon Combs.

To be honest, I’m not impressed with NRA’s statement, but at least they’re taking a position, unlike their counterparts in the gun control debate.

As Combs pointed out, gun control laws do damage; not only to our rights in the abstract, but to real lives. There are those Americans who can’t exercise their rights lawfully because of the restrictions where they live, but there are also those who end up charged with crimes for merely possessing a firearm without a government-issued permission slip. Then there are the folks like Hunter Biden, Donald Trump, and Bryan Range who are prohibited from exercising their right to keep and bear arms for the rest of their lives because of a non-violent conviction.

Hunter Biden’s case highlights the harm done by these “commonsense gun safety laws”, which is one reason why the anti-gun groups are staying quiet. They could issue statements praising the president for saying he’ll respect the jury’s decision and won’t pardon his son (though a commutation is a different story). They could borrow a page from the NRA and say that while they’re not opposed to lawful gun ownership, Biden broke the law and should pay the price.

But even an anodyne statement like that is too much for the Everytowns of the world. For as much as they talk about the necessity of putting more laws on the books, they really don’t like to talk about what enforcement of those laws looks like in practice… especially when the son of their endorsed presidential candidate is involved

Fox 7 out of Austin, Texas, is reporting that a Taylor, Texas, break-in was cut short the other week when a knife-wielding home invader got dumped to the ground by an armed homeowner.

Here’s how police say it played out:

Austin Sumpter, 23, was armed with a knife when he broke into a home in the 2300 block of Donna Drive on Monday, May 27 around 11:35 p.m.

The homeowner called 911, and before officers could get there, Sumpter made his way inside where the homeowner, who was armed, shot him.

When officers arrived, they found Sumpter lying on the front porch with a hole in his hip that he hadn’t had when he began his attack.

Officers found the knife he was carrying. It was in a sheath inscribed with the words “Hail Satan.” Sumpter was taken to a hospital, and following treatment, transferred to the local jail where he was placed under arrest and charged with burglary of a habitation with commission of a felony.

Guess that faith in Satan thing didn’t work out too well for Sumpter. The Great Dark One didn’t do much to protect his boy, who looks pretty sad in his mug shot still wearing his hospital gown. Guess he’s about to learn what hell is really like inside prison walls.

  9. Research Shows Trump and Biden Supporters View Gun Issue from Opposite Perspectives

Pew Research Service released a Cultural Issues and the 2024 Election report that shows there’s a stark difference in the way those who support more gun control and those who support gun rights see the issue of lawful gun ownership in America and what it means for the 2024 election.

Pew Research Service surveyed 8,709 adults, including 1,166 registered voters, in April on the political values of both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. The survey topics were grouped together as “culture war” or “woke” issues.

Unsurprisingly, supporters of Biden and Trump view guns from nearly polar opposite perspectives. But the data is telling on what voters would expect from another four years of a Biden administration.
    Voter Insights

“By overwhelming margins, Joe Biden’s supporters prioritize gun control over gun rights and say gun ownership does more to reduce than increase safety; roughly eight-in-ten Biden supporters (83%) say the increase in guns in the U.S. is at least somewhat bad for society,” the report’s authors wrote in the “Gun attitudes and the 2024 election” section. “By comparable or even somewhat larger margins, Donald Trump’s supporters express opposing views on all three measures.”

That’s not telling the whole story, though. The survey found that among all voters, there was a slight edge, 52 percent, to those voters who believed it is important to protect the rights of Americans who own guns over those who believe there should be increased control over who owns guns, which came in at 47 percent. The stark differences show when the two groups of supporters are broken out. Biden supporters only accounted for 19 percent who believe protecting Second Amendment rights is important compared to 80 percent who want more gun control. Among Trump supporters, 85 percent want Second Amendment rights protected and just 14 percent want more gun control.

That divide was also evident when surveyors asked if gun ownership increases or decreases public safety. Fifty-four percent of survey respondents believe gun ownership contributes to increased public safety, while 45 percent said more gun ownership reduces public safety. Seventy-six percent of Biden supporters believe more guns decreases public safety while 23 percent believe lawful gun ownership makes communities safer. Among Trump supporters, just 13 percent thought more gun ownership makes society more vulnerable, while 86 percent believe more lawfully-owned firearms means safer communities.

When the overarching question of whether more guns are good or bad for society, 52 percent of survey respondents thought it was bad, with just 22 percent agreeing it was good. Among Biden supporters, 83 percent think guns are bad for society with just 5 percent agreeing guns are good. For Trump supporters, 40 percent agree more guns were good for America with just 21 percent who thought more guns are bad.
    Digging Deeper

That last set of survey results comes with a caveat, though. There were significant numbers of voters surveyed who answered guns are neither good nor bad. That’s not an anomaly, as many gun owners see firearms as an inanimate tool with no intrinsic moral value one way or the other. In other words, it’s not the gun that’s bad or good, rather it’s the person who uses it for good or evil.

Among all survey respondents, that was 25 percent, and if added to those who answered more lawfully-owned guns are good for America, that brings the total to 47 percent of respondents. Thirteen percent of Biden supporters thought guns were neutral, and if added to those who thought more lawfully-owned guns are good, that total is 18 percent. Thirty-eight percent of Trump supporters are also neutral on the good-or-bad question. Adding those to the “guns are good” answers, that brings the total to 78 percent.

That question, though, didn’t differentiate between lawful and unlawful gun ownership. The survey, though, did ask about crime and policing. A full 61 percent of those polled said the justice system should be tougher on criminals, with only 25 percent saying the justice system is getting it right and 13 percent saying it is too tough on criminals. When it comes to Biden’s supporters, 40 percent agree that the justice system needs to get tougher with criminals. Among Trump supporters, that figure jumps to 81 percent.

Crime is an issue. Given the results of whether guns contribute to or denigrate America, along with the crime answers, it is clear that Americans overall are fed up with criminals being treated softly while their rights to protect themselves with guns are winnowed away to satisfy special interest gun control proponents.
More of This? Voter Survey Says No

The hardened positions by Biden and Trump supporters are hardly surprising. After all, President Biden has been demonizing the firearm industry since he took to the debate stage in 2019 and called firearm manufacturers “the enemy.” He nominated David Chipman, a former gun control lobbyists to become Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), before the U.S. Senate confirmation hearing forced President Biden to withdraw his name from consideration. He’s installed a former Everytown for Gun Safety gun control lobbyist in The White House. President Biden has used a whole-of-government approach to attack the firearm industry and Second Amendment rights, through “zero-tolerance” policies by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to revoke or pressure firearm retailers to give up their licenses and livelihoods, using the ATF to abuse the rulemaking process to bypass Congress by reclassifying brace-equipped pistols as short-barreled rifles (SBRs) and subject them to regulation under the National Firearms Act (NFA), or the “Engaged in the Business” rule to implement near-universal background checks among private sellers. This is the same White House administration that illegally spied, and lied about it, on law-abiding gun owners by collecting their private banking data without a warrant and also weaponized the Commerce Department to push an industry-crippling rule to hobble firearm exports to overseas markets.

On top of that, the Biden administration peddles in lies when they tell the American public the disproven claim that firearms are the leading cause of death among children. Despite repeatedly being fact checked, that lie continues to be repeated by President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and ATF Director Steven Dettelbach.

Contrast that with President Trump, who told gun owners at NRA’s Annual Meeting, “I promise you this, with me at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, no one will lay a finger on your firearms — just as took place for four years when I was your president.”

The Pew Research Service survey’s slight edge in favor of gun rights suggest the Biden administration’s support for gun control and nonstop attack on the Second Amendment is shifting the political ground toward valuing gun rights, and potentially, for President Trump. NSSF just reported that 22.3 million people – equal to population of Florida – have become first-time gun owners since 2020. Those new gun owners don’t fit the convenient boxes that gun control supporters would like. These new owners are increasingly diverse, including African Americans and Hispanic Americans and Asian Americans, as well as more women. For these new gun owners, gun rights is now an election issue.

November’s elections are about five months away. While that may be an eternity in politics, voting in many states starts in September. Gun owners will soon make their decisions. President Biden’s supporters will be looking to double down on the attacks on the firearm industry. President Trump’s supporters will be looking to reverse these unprecedented attacks on both the firearm industry and Second Amendment rights. That’s why it is imperative to vote.

The Vires Law Group, in conjunction with the Edward L. Tarpley, Jr., APLC and bolstered by the support of the Former Feds Group Freedom Foundation, has announced the submission of criminal referral requests to the District Attorneys of nine Louisiana parishes.

The referrals call for the initiation of criminal investigations against Dr. Anthony Fauci, Deborah “Scarf Lady” Birx, Rochelle Walensky, Peter Daszak, and other public health officials for alleged crimes committed against Louisiana citizens preceding and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The parishes of Caddo, East Baton Rouge, Jefferson, St. Tammany, Orleans, Lafayette, Lafouche, Tangipahoa, and Rapides are the focus of these 30-page criminal referrals, detailing accusations that have stunned the local communities, according to the press release.

Funded by contributions from entities like the Diamond Mind Foundation and the Fight Like A Flynn PAC, this legal action raises significant questions about the conduct of public health officials during one of the most devastating health crises of our time.

Attorneys Rodriguez, Miller, and Tarpley have requested that the District Attorneys refer these cases to Attorney General Liz Murrill for further investigation and potential charges.

These referrals are made on behalf of next-of-kin relatives of nine victims in Louisiana who have sought legal assistance in investigating the deaths of their loved ones.

Allegations include mismanagement of COVID-19 infections under hospital protocols, intentional suppression, and denial of life-saving treatments within Louisiana hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities.

The criminal referrals accuse Dr. Fauci, current and former federal officers, and hospital systems providing care within Louisiana of committing crimes as per Louisiana criminal code. The alleged crimes include:

Terrorism – by Causing Intentional Killing or Infliction of Serious Bodily Injury (La. R.S.?14:128.1(A))
First Degree Murder (La. R.S. 14:30)

Excavation Represents an Unprecedented Discovery of Pre-Revolutionary War Artifacts and Biological Matter

Archaeologists at George Washington’s Mount Vernon have unearthed an astounding 35 glass bottles from the 18th century in five storage pits in the Mansion cellar of the nation’s first president. Of the 35 bottles, 29 are intact and contain perfectly preserved cherries and berries, likely gooseberries or currants. The contents of each bottle have been carefully extracted, are under refrigeration at Mount Vernon, and will undergo scientific analysis. The bottles are slowly drying in the Mount Vernon archaeology lab and will be sent off-site for conservation.

This discovery follows a recent find in the cellar of two intact European-manufactured 18th-century glass bottles containing liquid, cherries, and pits. These archaeological finds are part of the landmark privately funded $40 million Mansion Revitalization Project at George Washington’s Mount Vernon.

Photographs and video footage of the bottles’ discovery at Mount Vernon are available here and should be attributed to the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association (MVLA).

“Never in our wildest dreams did we imagine this spectacular archaeological discovery,” said Mount Vernon President & CEO Doug Bradburn. “We were ecstatic last month to uncover two fully intact 18th-century bottles containing biological matter. Now we know those bottles were just the beginning of this blockbuster discovery. To our knowlege, this is an unprecedented find and nothing of this scale and significance has ever been excavated in North America. We now possess a bounty of artifacts and matter to analyze that may provide a powerful glimpse into the origins of our nation, and we are crossing our fingers that the cherry pits discovered will be viable for future germination. It’s so appropriate that these bottles have been unearthed shortly before the 250th anniversary of the United States,” Bradburn said.

“These artifacts likely haven’t seen the light of day since before the American Revolution, perhaps forgotten when George Washington departed Mount Vernon to take command of the Continental Army. This means the bottles are extremely fragile and require the utmost care. The Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association was America’s first historic preservation organization, so it’s only fitting that such a remarkable discovery was made here at Mount Vernon. We are fortunate to have top archaeologists and historic preservation experts on staff who know how to effectively manage, analyze, and care for this extraordinary discovery.

“This historic discovery comes at the beginning of our transformational $40 million Mansion Revitalization Project to strengthen and restore the home of the nation’s first president so that it will be stronger than ever when we celebrate America’s 250th birthday in 2026. This historic preservation project is Mount Vernon’s birthday gift to America,” Bradburn added.

Mount Vernon Principal Archaeologist Jason Boroughs said, “These extraordinary discoveries continue to astonish us. These perfectly preserved fruits picked and prepared more than 250 years ago provide an incredibly rare opportunity to contribute to our knowledge of the 18th-century environment, plantation foodways, and the origins of American cuisine. The bottles and contents are a testament to the knowledge and skill of the enslaved people who managed the food preparations from tree to table, including Doll, the cook brought to Mount Vernon by Martha Washington in 1759 and charged with oversight of the estate’s kitchen.”

Mount Vernon has partnered with the United States Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service (ARS) to analyze the contents of these historic bottles, composed of materials and foodstuffs that are likely 250 years old. While only a small quantity of the samples have been analyzed to date, the findings are significant even at this early stage:

54 cherry pits and 23 stems have been identified thus far, suggesting that the bottles were likely full of cherries before bottling. Cherry pulp is also present.
Microscopy suggests that the cherries may have been harvested by snipping from trees with shears. The stems were neatly cut and purposefully left attached to the fruit before bottling.
The cherries likely are of a tart variety, which has a more acidic composition that may have aided in preservation.
The cherries are likely candidates for DNA extraction, which could be compared against a database of heirloom varieties to determine the precise species.
The pits are undergoing an examination to determine if any are viable for germination.

The Mansion Revitalization Project is underway because today’s highly popular Mansion performs functions it was not designed for. Built as a private residence, it is now a public monument visited by thousands daily, translating to a much heavier traffic flow than the Washingtons could have imagined. That increased visitation causes wear, tear, and strain on the building fabric. Although repairs throughout the Mansion’s 290-year history have been accomplished using the best techniques available at the time, some of those repairs are now more than a century old. Significant advances in preservation technology afford exciting opportunities to improve structural and environmental conditions in the building, preparing it for another century of service.

Some of the earliest interventions completed in the Mansion were “localized” repairs intended to solve specific problems of immediate concern. Though successful, such repairs can have unintended consequences that affect the overall health of the Mansion. With this project, Mount Vernon’s preservation team is proceeding holistically, approaching the Mansion as a complex network of interlocking systems. The primary tasks of the Mansion Revitalization Project include:

Repairing sections of the Mansion’s framing and masonry
Installing a new heating/ventilation/air conditioning system
Improving drainage in and around the Mansion’s cellar
Conducting research in rarely accessible spaces

When the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association took possession of George Washington’s home in 1860, it faced a monumental restoration challenge. Since then, the MVLA has meticulously restored the Mansion and surrounding outbuildings, turning Mount Vernon into a shining example of historic preservation. After extensive investigation, assessment, research, planning, and design, Mount Vernon is taking proactive steps to ensure the health of the Mansion as it enters its fourth century. The Mansion Revitalization Project is being conducted in four phases and is scheduled for completion in 2026.

  12. BREAKING: House of Representatives Passes Bill for Mandatory Military Registration of Young Men Between 18 and 26
    by Jim H?ft Jun. 14, 2024 6:00 pm387 Comments

The U.S. House of Representatives has recently passed an amendment as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2025.

The amendment H.R. 8070 will automatically register all draft-age male U.S. residents with the Selective Service System for a possible military draft, based on information from other Federal databases.

This new system of automatic draft registration would replace the existing system, in place since 1980, in which young men have the freedom to decide whether or not to sign up for the draft.

According to People’s World, the automatic draft registration proposal was initiated by the Selective Service System (SSS) as part of its annual budget request to Congress.

    • (Richard: I can remember when all men were required to sign up for the Draft when they turned 18, now it is going to be automatic and many people are freaking. My problem with the idea is that the Dems are going to want to use the draft to cover the lack of enlistments and then try to brainwash the kids they draft.)

Senate Armed Services draft NDAA Summary that would require the registration of women for the draft. Also earlier today, the House approved automatic Selective Service registration for the first time since 1972 during the Vietnam War. Does anyone hear the drums of war and see the erosion of our individual liberty? #NDAA #IndividualLiberties

  13. HERE WE GO AGAIN: The Same FBI That Plotted Whitmer Kidnapping Psyop Charges Man for Allegedly Plotting a Mass Shooting With Undercover Informants to “Incite a Race War” Before Election (VIDEO)
    by Jordan Conradson Jun. 14, 2024 7:00 pm114 Comments

The FBI has arrested an Arizona man on multiple gun and hate crime charges after he allegedly plotted a mass shooting at a rap concert in Georgia “to incite a race war prior to the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election.”

Mark Alan Prieto, 58, a supposed right-winger reportedly revealed his plans to an FBI informant who “spoke with him more than a dozen times over three years at various gun shows.” He allegedly tried to recruit the informant and another undercover agent to stage the attack at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

“Why is Georgia such a f*cked up state now? When I was a kid, that was one of the most conservative states in the Country,” Prieto is alleged to have told the undercover individuals. The FBI further alleges that Prieto told the agents “that he wanted to target a rap concert because there would be a high concentration of African Americans” and that he wanted to use smoke grenades and a grenade launcher to “cause more panic.”

According to the FBI, “Prieto did not know the individuals were working with the government, but instead believed that they shared his racist beliefs and wanted to commit a mass shooting to incite a race war.”

Biden preparing to offer legal status to undocumented immigrants who have lived in U.S. for 10 years

The Biden administration is making plans to announce one of the largest immigration relief programs in recent history, developing a policy that would offer legal status to hundreds of thousands of immigrants living in the country without proper documents, four people familiar with the plans told CBS News.

A program being developed by White House officials would offer work permits and deportation protections to unauthorized immigrants married to U.S. citizens, as long as they have lived in the U.S. for at least 10 years, the sources said, requesting anonymity to talk about internal government plans.

The proposal, known as “Parole in Place,” would also open up a pathway to permanent legal status and U.S. citizenship for some beneficiaries by removing an obstacle in U.S. law that prevents those who entered the U.S. illegally from obtaining green cards without leaving the country.

Another plan being prepared by the Biden administration would streamline the process for so-called DREAMers and other undocumented immigrants to request waivers that would make it easier for them to obtain temporary visas, such as H-1B visas for high-skilled workers, the sources said.

The measures, the sources added, could be announced as early as Tuesday, but a plan has not been finalized by the administration. White House officials are preparing to host an event Tuesday to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which shields roughly 530,000 undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children from deportation.
