The Canadian Government and Vitamin D

This post will be half baked. We don’t know enough about what the Canadian government is planning yet to be concise about it just yet. But at first blush it appears to be about regulating all micronutrients such that they may become much harder to get. Put another way, the same governments which suddenly denied the use of ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine during what was thought to be a major pandemic, two of the safest drugs in the history of Western medicine, will now be regulating vitamin D and C and so on in a way that may cause you to need a prescription for them, along with a host of other micronutrients, and even disinfectants. The same government that appointed a fully incompetent minister of health who’s training was as a graphic designer and no background in health or medicine, will be looking at what conditions have to be met before you can get disinfectant products. The same government who’s health minister, Patty Hajdu, claimed Vitamin D is “fake news”, will decide what are and are not the necessary conditions for taking vitamin D.

Note the early use of the application of scientistm in the above video. The careful crafting of the word science to mean something new. The acceptance of authority as being ‘science’ rather than the process which is science for determining the falsity of a proposition. To see how that looks in terms of vitamin D, I ask all my readers who have not already done so, to please watch this video of a chiropractor and member of the Canadian Parliament for fifteen years, James Lunney. Not just for the sake of this article, but for the sake of all our health, especially if you live in the Northern Hemisphere, and doubly so if you are dark skinned. So one can watch this video both for the information in it as it pertains to our own well being, but also to hear the process of reasoning and science as it actually is under its original meaning.

So we have the then health minister above, who’s argument against vitamin D is in its essence: “trust us, this is what we say so it’s true” Vs. Dr. Lunney, who explains what the studies show and what the results are. What we used to call science. Imperfect, always changing, but classical thought and the foundations of our civilization. Also note that Hajdu’s approach is very much in sync with Anthony Fauci’s declaration that he is science, and if you do not agree with him, you do not agree with science. This is a near perfect example of scientism. The usurpation of the language of reason to serve an authoritarian purpose driven by diktats.

Here is a link to how scientism is applied to what is best thought of as, Critical sex theory, or by its dialectical name, queer theory or gender theory.

As a brief aside, when YouTube and similar platforms started banning all videos revealing that HCQ and other treatments for Covid worked, we frequently did a search on these platforms for snake oil salesmen trying to convince people that all kinds of wierdness would work for cancers and other serious diseases. Treatments which did not have close to the amount of evidence to support them as ivermectin and HCQ for Covid did, as real. They were not interfered with, showing that the reasons for banning the Covid related treatment videos were transparent lies. YouTube merrily allowed all kinds of heally-feely hopium to stay on the platform.

So item 5 of the new regulations at least define what we are looking at here. And at first blush, the overall theme of this new regulations feel reasonable. But that is how the Trudeau government slides fascist measures in to all aspects of our lives. Freedom of speech was killed by a number of bills, all which seems perfectly reasonable when you hear them explained by their own MPs but all of which grant the state powers no free nation should ever grant the government.

5. What types of natural health products are affected by the Natural Health Products Regulations

Natural health products (NHPs) are defined in the Regulations as vitamins and minerals, herbal remedies, homeopathic medicines, traditional medicines (like Traditional Chinese Medicines), probiotics, and other products like amino acids and essential fatty acids.

Under the Regulations, a natural health product must be safe to be used as an over-the-counter product. Natural health products are available for self care and self selection, and do not require a prescription to be sold. Products requiring a prescription will continue to be regulated under the Food and Drug Regulations.

7. Why are vitamins and minerals regulated as a sub-set of drugs?

Vitamins and minerals are regulated as a sub-set of drugs because they are considered to be natural health products, which are governed by the Natural Health Products Regulations.

Previously, vitamins and minerals, in dosage form, were regulated as drugs under the Food and Drug Regulations. However, because they are intended to be used for health benefits, they need to have instructions for use on their label.

As recommended by the Standing Committee on Health, regulating vitamins and minerals as a sub-set of drugs brings the treatment of these products into line with that of other products that fall within the definition of a natural health product (like homeopathic medicines and herbal remedies).

To be clear, this post, as we said, is half baked. We don’t know much about this yet. It could actually be a good thing in that testing for purity will be done to various health products so we can be assured we are getting what we think we are. In decades past, this might even be a really good bit of legislation. But given the dialectical nature of this government, and by that I mean instead of truth driven for the public good, narrative driven to force the culture and the continent ever leftwards, ever more under state control and ever away from individualism and classical liberalism, and considering how the government uses carbon and nitrogen as dialectical weapons against freedom, and nothing needs to be said about the various Covid injections for the point to be made, one should examine this legislation with the appropriate amount of dread and skepticism as everything else the Trudeau government has done.

For anyone who has not seen it, OBGYN James Thorp also discusses the value of nutrients as health measures in an interview we did with him not that long ago, as part of an interview on the effects of the vaxx especially on women. It is very worth seeing for anyone who has not.
