We’ve seen this, for example, over decades as public school performance has been increasingly under assault by revolutionary radical Left-run educational unions and (in the US) by the completely un-Constitutional Department of Education. Parents simply did not want to be bothered until things got SO desperate that their children are now literally being groomed to mutilate & sterilize themselves (none of which has anything to do with academics, as the parents are finally noticing.) Now even waking up to all the dangers (e.g. education, border invasion, weaponized Federal agencies, J6 political prisoners, etc) may not be reversible because of seemingly irreversible Election Fraud & Voter Fraud. All these inroads can be chalked up to decades of majority apathy, complacency and/or cowardice.
Why have the majority of Canadians approved the totalitarian measures meted out to the peaceful Canadian trucker protesters and their supporters? Why do Canadians not revolt in the streets over the horror of legalized and increasingly aggressively promoted & unprotected euthanasia? Same thing: Apathy, complacency and/or cowardice.

I watched that video. In what types of food would they add insects to? That was not made clear.

While the Torah does not specify the rationale for grasshoppers [ from massive locust swarms] being kosher, it may well be a practical matter; when your crops are wiped out by locusts, at least you’re not left with nothing to eat. In the terrible locust plague of 1915, many people in the Land of Israel starved to death as a result of the ensuing famine – but not those who ate locusts [with or without kosher supervision].
(The authors take a narrow exception, which the article pathetically keeps trying to expand. I dhave yet to see a cookbook from famine survivors with any cherished locust recipes that they formulated. If anything, this history casts light on how important pest control is for preserving food supplies.)
