3. Ottawa police officer charged for examining COVID-19 vaccine deaths
Ottawa police officer Helen Grus was charged with one count of discreditable conduct for investigating if people died from COVID-19 vaccines, according to a July 26 court application.
It is alleged Grus engaged in an unauthorized project by accessing nine child death cases which she had no responsibility over between 2020 and 2022 to find out the vaccine status of their parents.
The application said Grus interfered in an investigation into an infant death in January by contacting the father to ask about the mother’s vaccine status.
It said this conduct constitutes an offence under Section 2(1) of Schedule 1 of the code of conduct and is contrary to Section 80 (1) of the Police Services Act.
She was ordered to appear before retired Ottawa police superintendent Chris Renwick on Monday and is expected to show up to every appearance after.
Grus was put under investigation for looking into the infant’s death in March.
