1. A person cannot be committed beyond three days without just cause, at least in Ontario, without clear evidence that they represent a mortal threat to themselves, or to others. Psychiatrists are so aware of this requirement that they often err on the side of patient release, often to the detriment of themselves or society.

   That this man was committed, then recommitted, then prescribed dangerous medication by psychiatrist(s) without broad and convincing proof (the kind where everyone involved including family members agree the person must be locked up for safety) displays a Soviet level of State complicity that provides the medical personnel cover for malpractice.
