Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    “NIGERIA is in danger of a “Rwandan-style genocide” as Islamist extremists pursue campaigns of mass-murder, a human rights group has warned.

    The International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law states that more than 60,000 killings have taken place since 2010, with Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa (ISWAP) terrorising communities. It cites research by the International Committee on Nigeria (Icon), claiming that Boko Haram has killed 43,242 Nigerians since 2010. In addition, extremists among the nomadic Fulani population are reported to have killed 17,284 further Nigerians in the same time period.

    The group warns: “From the way things are speedily unfolding, the country is likely to be thrown into the Rwandan style genocide and other forms of mass bloodletting.”

    Last year the influential French writer and philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy visited Nigeria and warned that a “slow-motion war” is underway. He claimed that the world had “hardly noticed” a “massacre of Christians, massive in scale and horrific in brutality”.

    His reporting is among evidence that has been submitted to a House of Lords inquiry.

    PSJ UK, a humanitarian organisation with headquarters in Nigeria, has presented evidence that between 2009 and 2017, Boko Haram bombed and attacked 900 churches. Terrorism now extends into Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso.

    Ayo Adedoyin, chief executive of PSJ UK, said: “[Our] campaign builds on the Prime Minister’s Christmas message, which vowed to defend persecuted Christians around the world… For too long, Nigeria’s Christians have been silently slaughtered.

    “Their cries have been ignored by the mainstream media and political establishment, both in Nigeria and across the western world. There will be no peace in Africa until Nigeria, the continent’s largest economy and breadbasket of the future, can defend each of its citizens, particularly the most vulnerable.

    “While we cannot underestimate the threat of Covid-19, it is undeniable that Islamic terrorism has posed a bigger threat to Nigerian society at the start of 2020. As ISWAP expands and targets farmers, the risk of food shortages for Nigeria’s poorest is high, and must be remedied to avoid civil disorder.

    A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We condemn the violence perpetrated by Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa and the intercommunal fighting which has caused immense suffering for Christian and Muslim communities in Nigeria. We are committed to supporting Nigeria to fight extremism and protect the constitutional right to freedom of religion.”

    The UK Government considers Boko Haram and its breakaway faction, Islamic State West Africa, “jihadist terrorist groups”. According to its assessment, although there has been a recent rise in the targeting of Christians, the majority of victims have been Muslim.

    Boris Johnson discussed UK support for fighting terrorism in Nigeria with President Buhari in January. Britain has provided a “substantial package” of security, humanitarian and stabilisation assistance.”

    “CHRISTIANS in a small town in eastern Pakistan have been left “terrified” after an armed gang attacked their church, tearing down a cross and knocking over a wall.

    Neighbours of Trinity Pentecostal Church in Kala Shah Kaku in Punjab province were alerted by the sound of commotion at around midnight and quickly rushed to the scene. They found a group of radical Muslim men, some of whom were locally-known gang members, armed with guns, according to reports. It is believed the mob shouted hate speech at the Christians and threatened to shoot them and set the church on fire.

    By the time police arrived on the scene the culprits had fled.

    Witnesses, none of whom were injured, believe the incident was an attempted land-grab.

    The British Pakistani Christian Association (BPCA) has donated cash for repairs and said the church resumed services shortly after the May 9 attack.

    Volunteer Hannah Chowdhry told Express.co.uk: “There were two mafia gang members who brought five or six other men with them with guns and pistols.

    “They broke down the outer wall of the church. There was a cemented cross as well that they broke down and threw on the floor and they tried to break into the church.

    “This happens on a regular basis and we just have to make people aware of what is happening around the world.

    “It’s devastating that this is still happening even during the pandemic.

    “Although the people are terrified about what has happened, they have started up services in the church again.”

    Pastor Samuel Hidayat recalled the phone call he received from witnesses.

    He said: “From the descriptions provided to me by local people the situation was very dangerous and I feared there would be bloodshed so I called the police immediately.

    “It was clear these would-be property usurpers were not willing to negotiate or leave our church any other way.”

    The community suspect the gang took advantage of the coronavirus lockdown to attempt to break into the church in a bid to illegally wrestle the property from its rightful owners.

    Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs, Ijaz Alam Augustine visited the church in the wake of the attack, bringing with him a donated cross.

    He assured congregants that the police would hunt down the culprits and justice would be served.

    Mehwish Bhatti, the BPCA’s national executive for Pakistan, called on the Pakistani Government to do more to protect the rights of minorities.

    She said: “The Government should take strict action against the perpetrators of this attempted land-grab.

    “Failure to do so, creates fear in local congregations and takes away their freedom to practice their faith.

    “Such freedoms are enshrined within the UN Human Rights Convention which Pakistan has subscribed to and must adhere to.

    “We pray for a quick resolution.”

    Christians are estimated to make up about two percent (four million) of Pakistan’s population.”

    In the latest attack ten days ago, two men were shot in broad daylight as they drove through Barking in East London, a stronghold of the Hellbanianz, a notorious Albanian crime group.

    A 20-year-old has been identified in the Albanian community in London as target of the assassination attempt on Wilmington Gardens, Barking, at 2.15pm on Thursday June 4.

    Armed officers who attended the scene found the two men lying injured with gunshot wounds, one still in his car being tended by residents.

    Gashi, who has lived in Britain for several years, was said to remain in a critical condition in hospital, while the second man’s injuries were not life-threatening….”

    “Italian authorities have arrested thirteen Chinese nationals who they say were using illegal migrants in slave-like conditions for a business making medical masks.

    The Chinese “entrepreneurs” were taken into custody by the Guardia di Finanza in the city of Prato in Tuscany. Police also seized hundreds of thousands of medical masks which were being sold to Tuscan government authorities and handed out free to the public.

    At least 90 workers making the masks were found to not have work permits or residency permits and many of the workers in one factory were forced by a Chinese man to work shifts of up to 16 hours a day with no days off and given just ten to fifteen minutes for breaks in which to eat, L’Arno reports.

    According to investigations, the workspaces had also been set up as accommodation for the migrants working in them, with one man forced to sleep in one of the toilets of the worksite.

    As part of the investigation, 28 business in the textile district of Prato, all manged by Chinese nationals, were searched along with the residences of some employees.

    ESTAR, the Tuscany region’s health service body, had ordered 6.7 million medical masks and the main supplier was forced to use contractors who in turn employed the Chinese-run businesses.

    Enrico Rossi, president of the Tuscany region, praised the work of investigators and said: “Now, based on the results of the investigation, the Region will evaluate whether to take legal action.”

    Maurizio Marchetti, regional head of Silvio Berlusconi’s Forza Italia, reacted differently, slamming the leftist coalition government: “It makes sense that there has been no scruple about assigning a millionaire contract to that parallel Chinese district and to the clandestine production network that the Region would have the task of contrasting as a pocket of illegality that undermines our textile district.”

    Illegal migrant labourers have become a major issue in Italy in recent weeks as the leftist government has pushed for a temporary amnesty for the estimated hundreds of thousands of illegals living in the country.”

    “There is cruelty,” the pope said, departing from prepared remarks. “We all have responsibility. No one can feel exempt.”

    The Pope’s comments came as forces allied with a U.N.-supported government in the capital Tripoli are prearing to launch an attack on rival forces led by military commander Khalifa Hifter in the strategic coastal city of Sirte.       “It has been present in my prayer in recent days. Please, I urge international bodies and those who have political and military responsibilities to recommence with conviction and resolve the search for a path towards an end to the violence, leading to peace, stability and unity in the country,” he said.

      “I also pray for the thousands of migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and internally displaced persons in Libya,” the pontiff continued. “The health situation has aggravated the already precarious conditions in which they find themselves, making them more vulnerable to forms of exploitation and violence. There is cruelty.”

      The United Nations released a report in late May declaring that hundreds of thousands of migrants and refugees are currently residing in Libya while awaiting an opportunity to travel across the Mediterranean Sea to Europe.

      “The global crisis caused by the pandemic is unprecedented and it is difficult to predict its impact on human trafficking and migrant smuggling,” the report stated, adding that the severe economic consequences of prolonged lockdowns could provoke a surge of migration from various countries.

      “Information from Libya, where around 650,000 migrants and refugees are currently registered, suggests that the Covid-19 public health crisis has not discouraged people from trying to reach Europe,” the report noted.”

    “Two men on a motorcycle opened fire on a police station in the southern Philippines, killing two officers and wounding two others in a far-flung province long plagued by terrorism, police said Sunday.

    Police investigator Nizar Bakun said one of the suspects armed with an M16 rifle fired at least seven times at the police station in Parang town in Sulu province Saturday night then fled. Two of four police who were hit in the attack died on the way to a hospital.

    Bakun told The Associated Press by telephone that the attackers have not been identified but Abu Sayyaf militants and local drug traffickers were among the main suspects.

    A stronger anti-terror legislation, which Congress passed and sent to President Rodrigo Duterte for signing into law, targets such groups as the Abu Sayyaf, a small but violent group blacklisted by the United States and the Philippines as a terrorist organization for ransom kidnappings, beheadings and bombings.

    Opponents, however, have raised alarm over the legislation, which would allow the detention of suspects for up to 24 days without a warrant or criminal charges. They say it threatens the freedom of the press and ordinary dissent with its broad definition of terrorism.

    A few hundred Abu Sayyaf militants still remain in impoverished Sulu and outlying island provinces, mostly on the run from constant military offensives. Many have surrendered or have been killed or captured in recent years.”

    “A teenager has been raped, three people have been stabbed and a man has died of a suspected drug overdose during three lockdown-defying raves in the north of England.

    Officers are today investigating the sex attack on an 18-year-old female, who attended the illegal party of around 2,000 revellers in Greater Manchester last night.

    It took place as 4,000 party-goers gathered for a so-called ‘quarantine rave’, also in Greater Manchester, while others broke lockdown laws to party beside a motorway near Leeds.

    Today police have confirmed a 20-year-old man has died of a suspected drug overdose during one of the three events, which collectively attracted more than 6,000 people.

    It was at the biggest of the events, in Droylsden, Greater Manchester, where the 20-year-old died of a drug overdose, Greater Manchester Police say. His family are today being supported by specialist officers.

    Nearby in Carrington, there were reports of three separate stabbings at another 2,000-strong party, including one which left an 18-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.

    Two other men, aged 25 and 26, were also left with injuries after these separate assaults.

    A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and enquiries remain ongoing to locate the suspects involved in these incidents.

    A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: ‘We are also investigating the rape of an 18-year-old woman who attended this event and we have specialist officers supporting her and her family whilst enquiries are ongoing to trace the suspect.

    ‘Anyone with information is asked to contact police as soon as possible.’…”

    “A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man, 48, died from stab injuries.

    Police have launched a murder investigation after the 48-year-old man was stabbed at a house in Haringey, north London.

    The man is thought to be known to the victim.

    They were responding to a call shortly before midnight last night to a property in Waldegrave Road, Wood Green.

    Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene and the man was taken to hospital. He died just before 1am today.

    The Metropolitan Police said: ‘Formal identification awaits. The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

    ‘A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

    ‘A crime scene remains in place as enquiries continue.

    ‘Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are investigating.’

    The 42-year-old man who has been arrested is in police custody.”

  21. RT – USA: “Autonomous Zone” residents in Seattle build gardens and establish food distribution

    Organisers in Seattle’s ‘Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone’ worked to establish food distribution and create shelter for residents on Saturday, after occupying several city blocks around an abandoned police precinct for several days.

    The zone’s ‘No Cop Co-op’ has been accepting donations and giving food out for free, as organisers work to build an egalitarian system within their boundaries.

    “People come up and ask us what we need and then they go and buy it or bring it from their house and bring it here. And then we give it out to the people for free. It’s just kind of – the whole idea is like, we can take care of each other if everyone kind of puts in the work to be part of the community,” said Jeff, who manages the food co-op and has taken the last name ‘Everyone’.

    Many residents have brought tents to camp out inside the zone and provide assistance to the nascent society.

    “I came here and visited a few days ago, and I saw that they need occupation here. And they need some help with some of the stands, the tents, the donation centres. They’re pretty well stocked for medics, but some other people are working really long days in order to keep this thing afloat, so I figured if I can be here as long as I can,” said Remy Shriver, a resident living in a tent.

    The zone has experienced periodic clashes as the group aims to maintain its peaceful occupations and manage its borders.

    On Friday, tens of thousands of people took part in a silent march in Seattle, and dozens of businesses closed after Black Lives Matter called for a state-wide general strike in recognition of the march.

    “On Saturday, protesters gathered in the French capital for an unauthorized rally to show their solidarity with Black Lives Matter movement and protest the death of Adama Traore in police custody back in 2016. They soon verbally clashed with some counter demonstrators.

    Anti-racism protesters were filmed shouting anti-Semitic slogans during a rally in Paris on Saturday, Valeurs actuelles reported, providing a video of the incident where “sales Juifs” (dirty Jews) chants can be heard multiple times.

    The protesters gathered in Paris’s Place de la République on 13 June. Black Lives Matter demonstrations have swept the world following the death of George Floyd in police custody on 25 May. According to Valeurs, demonstrators were set to protest police brutality and the death of Malian French man Adama Traore in police custody in 2016.

    However, at around 2:30 pm they reportedly clashed with a counter-protest group “Génération Identitaire” that unrolled a banner denouncing “anti-white racism”. The first group of demonstrators then started shouting anti-Semitic slogans at the counter-protesters. In a separate report, the Jerusalem Post argued that the protesters were also waving placards calling Israel a “laboratory of police violence”.

    According to the Prefect of Police, the incident has now been reported to “justice”.

    Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris, has so far not commented on the incident, but she has retweeted several posts both supporting the destruction of the “anti-white racism” banner unrolled by “Génération Identitaire” and those calling upon the organizers of the Adama Traore rally to condemn the use of anti-Semitic chants.”

    “Thirty-six migrants travelling from Turkey were spotted off Lesbos and transferred to a temporary settlement in the north of the island, Greece’s coastguard said Sunday.

    Among the group, “one person had to be hospitalised”, an official for the coastguard press office told AFP, without giving further details.

    The rest of the group were safely transferred to a migrant facility on Lesbos and quarantined for seven days under measures to combat coronavirus, the source said.

    According to the Greek state news agency ANA, the group is made up of 10 women, 10 children and 16 men, all from Iran and Afghanistan.

    Their boat was spotted on Saturday morning but the rescue and transfer operation did not take place until midnight, according to the coastguard.

    Migrant advocacy NGOs Aegean Boat Report and Watch the Med denounced the Greek and Turkish coastguards on social media for leaving the boat in distress offshore “for 14 hours”, while they both attempted to palm off responsibility.

    With the boat in their waters on Saturday evening, the Greek coastguard finally rescued the migrants.

    Migrants trying to reach Europe to flee war and poverty frequently use this narrow route between Greece and Turkey in the Aegean Sea.

    There have been numerous reports from NGOs and the media published in recent months accusing Greece of driving migrants back towards Turkey.

    On Friday the UN’s refugee agency, the International Organization for Migration and the EU called on Athens to “urgently open an investigation” into the matter and “take the necessary measures”.

    It is the third boat to arrive in Lesbos since the beginning of June.

    A total of 108 migrants have been rescued off the island in the last two weeks, according to ANA, an increase in numbers after a significant drop in previous months due to restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic.”

    The Trump administration on Friday finalized a regulation that defines gender as a person’s biological sex, reversing an Obama-era rule aimed at protecting transgender people against sex discrimination in health care.

    The Health and Human Services Department regulation says essentially that “gender identity” is not protected under federal law prohibiting sex discrimination in health care.

    The policy shift was long sought by religious and social conservatives. The Obama administration’s regulation defined gender as a person’s internal sense of being male, female, neither or a combination.

  38. TOKYO (Reuters) – Thousands of protesters in Tokyo took part in a Black Lives Matter march on Sunday, calling for an end to racial discrimination and police abuse after the killing of African American George Floyd in Minneapolis last month.

    Demonstrators marched through the streets of the capital’s Shibuya and Harajuku districts chanting and holding up signs spelling out slogans such as “Racism Is A Pandemic” and “No Justice No Peace”.

    The briefing also points out that when officers decide to take the knee it has a “very positive and engaging effect” and a “positive reaction on the protest groups.”

    “I went to have a closer look as there has been a lot of A4 signs about the park recently regarding BLM, but nothing this extreme,” added the man, who asked the newspaper not to name him.

    “There was one more about kids but I could not peel off so I removed what I could.

    “Like I said there has been a lot of signs going but nothing this bad.”

    The Evening Telegraph spoke to a local Black Lives Matter activist, Joy Gansh, who suggested the posters may not have been the work of BLM supporters, but of “a white supremacist” seeking to “discredit” the movement.

    “My personal opinion is that this is people being framed,” said the art student.

    “This is a way to make us seem in the wrong… This seems like a way to stop us in our tracks and make us seem violent so they can come back with violence,” she added.

    The discovery of the posters follows the vandalisation of Scotland’s Falkirk Wheel with similar anti-white racist messaging, with the rotating canal boat lift being sprayed with graffiti saying “HANG THE WHITE MAN” and “BLACK LIVES MATTER” by an unknown person or persons.”

    The extremists from the Islamic State West Africa Province on Saturday attacked Monguno, where there are an estimated 150,000 displaced civilians, a United Nations office and a Nigerian military base.

    “The well-armed attackers came in large numbers from three directions and took over the town for some hours before the military fought them back with the help of fighter planes,” said Mohammed Ibrahim, a member of Monguno’s community safety force.

    Many of the attackers appeared to have come from neighboring Chad and Niger, said Ibrahim. At least three civilians and an unspecified numbers of soldiers were killed, he said.

    The attackers came in 13 vehicles, including heavily armed trucks, said another witness. The fighters dropped letters written in English, Hausa and Arabic warning people to stay away from the military and humanitarian organization because they could be attacked at anytime.

    Military spokesman Sagir Musa said on Sunday that the attackers sustained “high number of casualties” and some of their weapons and equipment was destroyed.

    A separate extremist attack on Saturday was in the Nganzai area, where residents say about 40 people were killed.

    Idris Yahaya, a member of the local community safety group told The Associated Press that they have recovered “about 40 corpses in and around Usmanti village.” He said the attackers also burned down several houses before they left the village.

    A third attack was on Zuwo village in the Gubio area but the number of casualties have not yet been confirmed because of poor telecommunication services in the area.

    In an earlier attack on June 9, 81 people were killed in Gubio. Gubio, Monguno and Nganzai are in the Lake Chad region of Nigeria where the Islamic State West Africa Province is most active.”
