MONTREAL – Red Cross sets up COVID-19 treatment hospital at Jacques Lemaire Arena
MONTREAL — The Red Cross confirmed Friday that it is setting up a hospital in LaSalle in the Jacques Lemaire Arena to treat residents from long-term care homes that are infected with COVID-19.
The original plan was to put patients in a heated tent outside of the LaSalle Hospital and be able to treat 25 patients, but the arena can hold more patients and was chosen as an alternative site.
“The temporary facility will make it possible to increase the capacity of the West Island of Montreal IUHSSC and optimize the delivery of care and services to seniors with COVID-19 on its territory,” read a statement from the IUSSS.
In the area, the CHSLD LaSalle, Foralies LaSalle and Vigi home have all been hit hard by the COVID-19 crisis with multiple residents testing positive for the virus.

Politico put a piece out yesterday in which they made quite the stunning charge against Donald Trump. According to their sources, the President is hopelessly stuck under the thumb of China because he owes their state bank tens of millions of dollars. Sounds bad, right?

I won’t bore you with the rest of his preening, as it’s what you’d expect, i.e. lots of false conclusions being drawn from incomplete evidence.
The point of Politico’s story was to take heat off Joe Biden, as the above thread and the article itself draw comparisons to Hunter Biden. You see, Trump supposedly has these loans with China so it must mean that Hunter Biden getting lucrative contracts from the Chinese is all good. If the media can somehow tie Trump to China, then they can scream hypocrisy when Republicans go after Joe Biden and his family for his conflicts of interests.
But then the real story came out. You’ll be shocked to learn that the entire premise of the story is false.

Not only does Trump not have loans with the Bank of China, it’s been since 2012 that they held any stake at all. Further, the Bank of China only had that stake for 22 days. This entire Politico hit-piece, which was spread far and wide by many blue checkmark “journalists” is actually total nonsense.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) claimed Friday evening that 50,000 Americans died because the Senate failed to remove President Donald Trump from office during the impeachment trial in February.

New York, California and other Dem controlled states over spend give the State Workers pensions that pay them more then they made working and when they can’t get enough money from their state to fund their over spending they expect the rest of the natoin to willingly pay more taxes.
Filing for bankruptcy would force fiscal responsiblity on those states, they would have to cut the pay of their people and cut the pensions. Which would cause the voters to decide to vote for smarter politicians.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi did not come to the Sunday shows to play games. In an appearance on AM Joy Sunday morning, she let the U.S. Supreme Court have a piece of her mind about their decision to force Wisconsin voters to the polls to vote in a special election.
While discussing the CARES Act and the funds Democrats had included for universal vote-by-mail in the age of the coronavirus, she turned to the Wisconsin decision.
What happened in Wisconsin was unconscionable on the part of the United States Supreme Court. They turned themselves into party hacks. Party hacks.
The court said, the election had to take place on that day, the court — the lower court also said, though, should be consideration for more time for getting and counting absentee ballots. The Supreme court even reversed that.
They said you can’t do the election, you have to do the election that day, but no accommodation and why? Because they had a political purpose. Disgraceful.
However, under the leadership of Wisconsin, the Democratic party and the Democratic establishment there, and the messaging that went out to the public, they won the election, thank God. But they taught us a lot of things about voter protection and actually what the Supreme Court of the United States said to the state of Wisconsin is why don’t we all just go to the Mardi Gras together. “The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of anyone connected to a fire that badly damaged an Islamic center in southeastern Missouri and that coincided with the start of a holy month for Muslims.
Richard Quinn, the special agent in charge of the St. Louis Division, announced the award Friday, hours after the fire broke out early that morning at the Islamic Center of Cape Girardeau. Twelve to 15 people were evacuated and escaped injury. Fire Chief Travis Hollis said the damage to the building was extensive.
The Missouri chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim advocacy group, said the fire began at the front door of the building. CAIR noted the timing of the blaze – Thursday night was the beginning of Ramadan, a holy month during which Muslims fast and pray.
“Because the fire was deemed `suspicious,´ and because it occurred at a house of worship on a significant religious date, we urge law enforcement authorities to investigate a possible bias motive for the blaze,” CAIR’s national communications director, Ibrahim Hooper, said in a statement.

“Libyan National Army (LNA) is regularly downing drones in Tripoli and arresting foreign mercenary fighters, as recently confirmed by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
Videos of foreign fighters arrested by LNA soldiers circulated on social media, showing the mercenaries’ confessing that they’ve arrived to the country through Mitiga and Misrata airports after receiving sums of money for joining the war.
The Syrian Observatory reported that Turkey has recruited nearly 10,000 militants to fight in Tripoli, noting that the number of recruits who arrived in Libya rose to nearly 7,400, including a group of non-Syrian mercenaries, while nearly 2,500 others arrived in Turkey to undergo training courses.
The Observatory noted that hundreds of fighters are getting prepared to be transported from Syria to Turkey, since LNA factions are continuing to list new names, by Turkish intelligence’s orders.
LNA spokesman Major General Ahmed al-Mismari said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has transported nearly 7,500 mercenaries to the Libyan territory, adding that Syrian mercenary leaders receive millions of dollars in exchange.
SOHR indicated that commanders instructed their fighters not to talk about the monthly salaries and to say that they came for the sake of Libyan people and not for money.
The Observatory believes they aim to enhance the image of the Syrian factions in Libya, especially after many fighters expressed their regret for leaving for Libya.
Reliable SOHR sources said the participation of the mercenaries helped in tipping the scales of battles in western Libya in their favor.
SOHR activists confirmed that more Syrian mercenaries were killed in the ongoing military operations in Libya, bringing the total death toll of Turkish-backed Syrian proxies killed in Libya to 223.
Meanwhile, UN acting envoy Stephanie Williams stated that Libya is turning into an experimental field for all kinds of new weapons systems, with foreign supporters of its warring parties shipping in arms and fighters in violation of an embargo.

Turkey Continues Efforts to Carry Out ‘Demographic Change’ in Northeastern Syria

“The Turkish army and its loyal factions continue displacing the remaining residents in areas that fall under their control in northeastern Syria as part of the “demographic change” policy, a human right observatory announced.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said Turkish forces and their proxies are moving forward with their systematic approach implemented in Afrin and other areas under their Operation Peace Spring.
It said this comes in light of the demographic change they seek to bring about in areas that were controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
Families from eastern Ghouta and other Syrian areas are being housed in several areas in Raqqa and Hasakah, which have been captured recently by Turkish forces and proxies, replacing the civilians who were forced to displace.
Abductions and arbitrary arrests still continue targeting residents, both Kurds and Arabs, in areas under control of Operations “Peace Spring” and “Olive Branch” factions, it stressed.
In Tal Abyad, just one of the many examples, Turkish-backed factions continue their arbitrary practices, although the city is inhabited mostly by Arabs, it added.
The SOHR stated that military groups affiliated to the pro-Turkish factions raided Saturday homes of displaced civilians in Meydanki area in Afrin countryside.
It noted that the area experiencing abuses by the new residents against the property of Kurdish indigenous people, including allowing cattle to graze agricultural land, causing significant damage to crops.
Meanwhile, the Turkish Defense Ministry announced killing at least 20 members of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in northern Syria, near Turkey’s southern border.
“The terror group’s attempt to infiltrate the Operation Peace Spring de-escalation zone to disrupt peace and security was prevented by our heroic commandos. Twenty YPG/PKK terrorists were neutralized in a successful operation before they could achieve their aims,” the ministry said on Twitter.
On October 9, Ankara launched the Operation Peace Spring against YPG members from the area east of the Euphrates River in northern Syria to ensure the safe return of Syrian refugees.
Turkey and its loyal forces seized a 30 km region deep in the Syrian territories during an operation that was halted eight days later.
This happened as Ankara agreed with the US and Russia on Oct. 17 and 22 on the withdrawal of its forces from the Syrian border and the withdrawal of Kurdish units as well from the Operation Peace spring zone.”

Four Nigerian workers were injured in the attack against civilians in the capital, Tripoli, the GNA-led Burkan Al-Ghadab (Volcano of Rage) Operation said on social media.
As part of measures against the novel coronavirus, a cease-fire took effect March 21 but Haftar’s militias have continued attacks on the capital.
Libya has reported two deaths from the virus, 60 cases and 15 recoveries. The country recorded its first case March 24.
The GNA has been under attack by Haftar’s forces since last April, with more than 1,000 killed in the violence.
It launched Operation Peace Storm on March 26 to counter attacks against the capital.
The GNA announced April 13 its forces removed Haftar militias from at least eight provinces, clearing a 3,000-square-kilometer (1,158-square-mile) area from the warlord’s forces.
Since the ouster of longtime ruler Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, two seats of power have emerged in Libya: Haftar in eastern Libya — supported by Egypt and the UAE — and the GNA in Tripoli, which enjoys the UN and international recognition.”
Two soldiers martyred in North Waziristan operation

“The Pakistan Army said on Sunday that two soldiers were martyred and one was injured in a clash with terrorists in North Waziristan district.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) added that during the clash, nine terrorists were killed and another was apprehended. The clash happened following an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khaisura and Dossali areas of the district.
“Security Forces conducted IBO on credible information about presence of terrorists in Khaisura and Dossali areas of North Wazaristan District late last night. During sanitization of area; fire exchange took place between terrorists and security forces,” said the ISPR.
The military identified the martyrs as Lance Naik Abdul Waheed, 29, from district Muzafarabbad, He was married with three sons and a daughter. Sepoy Sakum Dad, 33, from Abbotabad. He was married and is survived by a son and a daughter.
This is the fifth reported clash between security forces and terrorists in North Waziristan since the start of April.
On April 20, a soldier was martyred and three others injured in a terrorist attack on a military checkpost.
Earlier on on April 14, another Army soldier was martyred during a shootout with terrorists in North Waziristan and a day earlier on April 13, another soldier embraced martyrdom in a shootout with terrorists. Two terrorists were also killed in the operation.
On March 18, an Army officer and three soldiers were martyred during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the erstwhile tribal district. A large cache of arms was recovered during the operation and the terrorist hideout was destroyed.”

“The terror group’s attempt to infiltrate the Operation Peace Spring zone with aims to disrupt the peace and secure environment was prevented by our heroic commandos. 20 YPG/PKK terrorists were neutralized in a successful operation before reaching their aims,” the ministry said on Twitter.
Turkish authorities often use the word “neutralize” to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.
Since 2016, Turkey has launched four successful anti-terrorist operations across its border in northern Syria to prevent the formation of a terror corridor and enable peaceful settlement by locals: Euphrates Shield (2016), Olive Branch (2018), Peace Spring (2019), and Spring Shield (2020).
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU — has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.

Transgender Moroccan Influencer Tells Women to Out Gay Men

“Naofal Moussa, also known as Sofia Talouni, a Moroccan transgender social media influencer living in Turkey has targeted gay men in an Instagram live video by calling on women to download gay dating apps in an effort discover which men near them are gay.
Moussa, who had over 627,000 followers on Instagram before the app deactivated her account, spoke to an audience of over 100,000 people.
“So girls, you will go to the app store. You will type in the word ‘gay,’ and then a lot of gay apps will show up.”
Moussa goes on to list popular gay dating apps used by men in Morocco and explains how the apps identify men based on proximity. With stay-at-home orders, part of Morocco’s state of emergency to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Moussa added it might be possible to “out” the person in your living room.
“This is your chance,” Moussa promised women searching for a way to confirm the sexuality of men they know.
“It could show you your husband who is in the bedroom or your son on the toilet. It could show your boyfriend in the next building. It could show you your cousin, your uncle. Everyone.” Translations from Darija to English have been provided by Moroccan activists working to raise awareness about the cyber attack.

Her video contained a stream of homophobic slurs and prejudiced comments. Moussa denounced homosexuality and said if she ever finds out Morocco recognizes homosexuality, she will be the first to stand up against it.
“We shouldn’t recognize homosexuality, we are an Islamic country,” she shared.
In Morocco, same-sex sexual activity and relationships are illegal and punishable by anywhere between six months and three years in prison and a fine of MAD 200 to 1,000 ($20 to $100).
Pictures of men, purportedly found on the dating apps, have been circulating on social media, and threats have flooded the victims’ inboxes, as a result of Moussa’s video.
The “influencer’s” followers are sharing the found images and personal information about men using the dating apps. In some cases, the information shared includes phone numbers and addresses.
After creating a new Instagram page, Moussa went live again to exhibit screenshots sent by her followers of identified gay men.
Gay men in danger
Gay men in Morocco, many of whom conceal their sexuality publicly, have been living in fear since the live event.
“The law is not on our side, society is not on our side, and there is no queer Moroccan recognized organization to fight [for our rights],” a member of the LGBTQ community told MWN.
The queer community has taken it upon themselves to respond to the situation.
In an interview with MWN, a gay activist and an administrator for an Instagram support group created in response to the incident says he has already received many messages from fearful victims.
“I have spoken with a 17 year old boy who was abused by his family and then kicked out of his home. I have received many messages from people who are afraid of the consequences of being outed.”
The activist says he has been working hard to find safe spaces for forcefully outed men, and he is not the only one.
“There have also been many people sending me messages offering support. Financial support, offering to pay rent for safe apartments to shelter those in danger, offering up their own accommodations. Is that true? I can see wearing a mask to cover your mouth indoors so you don’t spread your germs, but wearing a mask may force you to deep breathe (air hunger) and breath through your mouth instead of your nose.

If you’re sick, you should isolate yourself. If there’s nobody around, you shouldn’t use a mask. Why inhale your own exhaust? Open the window, inhale fresh air.
Exactly. From what i have read, all this gear from China is contaminated. Also 80% error on tests. Although I have no idea how they could confirm that without an extra set of tests that are accurate to check, and there is no way they could do that without a lot of accurate tests.
This whole thing makes less and less sense.
