Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

Saudi Arabia, US to back formation of SDF-affiliated Arab forces
https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20200204-saudi-arabia-us-to-back-formation-of-sdf-affiliated-arab-forces/
“Saudi and American officials have held talks in Syria’s north-eastern province of Al-Hasakah on Riyadh potentially financing Arab forces backed by the United States (US) and affiliated to the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), local sources reported yesterday.
The sources told Arabi21 that the US support had come under the pretext of “resisting the Iranian expansion attempts in north-eastern Syria.”
The meetings were held in Al-Hasakah’s Al-Khabour Park, where the officials discussed “ways to resist the Iranian expansion attempt in the east of the SDF-controlled region of Euphrates region,” according to the sources.
The move would put Saudi Arabia and the US further at odds with Turkey which classes the SDF as a terrorist organisation because it is an offshoot of the PKK which has carried out attacks against Turkey. The US and EU also recognises the PKK as a terrorist entity, however America continues to arm its affiliates.”
Egypt court refers 37 to grand mufti to approve executions

“An Egyptian court has referred the papers of 37 defendants to the grand mufti to approve their execution.
Under Egyptian law the grand mufti must offer his opinion on whether someone should be executed, though his judgement remains advisory.
The defendants were tried in a mass trial of over 200 people and accused of committing 54 acts of terror, including assassinating police officers and bombing security buildings.
They have also been accused of collaborating with Hamas…”
Saudi envoys summoned over Iran-Arab spy ring in Europe
https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20200204-saudi-envoys-summoned-over-iran-arab-spy-ring-in-europe/
“The Danish and Dutch governments have summoned their Saudi ambassadors in order to protest the presence of four Iranian-Arabs who were arrested and charged for allegedly spying for Saudi Arabia.
The three members of the Al-Ahvaziya group – backed by Saudi Arabia against the Iranian government – were arrested by the Danish Security and Intelligence Service yesterday over suspicions of spying on behalf of the kingdom, along with one other member arrested in the Netherlands.
Danish Security Service (PET) Director Finn Borch Andersen announced that the three members of the group, formally known as the Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz (ASMLA), were officially charged with participating in the Saudi intelligence service’s espionage activities between 2012 and 2018.
The detainees, who were under surveillance for several months prior to their arrests, were reportedly collecting information on individuals within Denmark and other surrounding countries in order to send it to Saudi intelligence.
They were also alleged to have supported a terrorist attack in Iran in September 2018, which was responsible for the deaths of 25 people. The Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod released a tweet on the case, calling it “deeply serious and completely unacceptable”, adding that he had summoned the Saudi ambassador as well as ordering the Danish ambassador in the Saudi capital Riyadh to express the country’s grievances to Saudi authorities.
The Al-Ahwaziya group was established in 1980, being one of the many groups born out of the brief political instability following the Iranian Islamic Revolution of 1979. They consist of a variety of members belonging to differing ideological differences while having the common nationalist aim of separating the south-western region of Khuzestan – where the city of Ahwaz is located – from the rest of Iran through armed struggle.
Saudi Arabia’s reported backing of and involvement in the group and its activities through the gathering of intelligence in European countries comes at a time when the kingdom is being scrutinised for its global spying techniques…”
Saudi has ‘very good programmes on de-radicalisation’, says ex-UK minister
https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20200204-saudi-has-very-good-programmes-on-de-radicalisation-says-ex-uk-minister/
“Saudi Arabia’s record of combating radicalisation got a surprise nod of approval yesterday following Sunday’s terror attack in Streatham, south London.
With UK security officials trying to figure out how convicted terrorist, 20-year-old Sudesh Amman – who had been under police surveillance was able to stab two people – former Prisons Minister, Rory Stewart, has suggested that the Saudis may have an answer to Britain’s problem.
The attack was the second in three months where a convicted terrorist who had been under surveillance, stabbed people on the streets after his release. The Conservatives – and to a lesser extent Labour – came under fire for November’s London Bridge attack to score cheap political points.
Sunday’s attack triggered a vigorous debate on what many believe is a systematic problem with the UK’s method for rehabilitating convicted terrorists.
“There are things we can improve straightaway,” said Stewart on LBC Radio. “Making sure we have much better intelligence and information on individuals,” was one of the things he said Britain could improve.
Stewart explained that having criminals work with someone through the prisons system and through probation could reduce the risk of reoffending.
Now a leading London mayoral candidate, Stuart went on to mention the Saudis when asked to provide examples of countries that have dealt with the problem of reoffending terrorist.
“The US tends to do it in a much more heavy-handed way,” said Stewart. “The Scandinavians have done good stuff on rehabilitation,” he continued.
“Even countries like Saudi Arabia have had, with all their problems and it’s in many ways an uncomfortable regime, but have done very good programmes on de-radicalisation,” added Stewart.”
Germany urges UK, France to help Turkey support Syria refugees

“Germany yesterday stressed the importance of the negotiations with Turkey on the humanitarian catastrophe in Idlib amid recent attacks by the regime and its allies.
Addressing reporters in Berlin, Defence Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer shared deep concern over recent regime attacks targeting civilians in the northwestern Syrian province of Idlib, Anadolu reported.
“How we can prevent a humanitarian catastrophe there, how can we avoid the expulsion of people trapped in this region…these questions have not been satisfactorily answered yet,” she said.
“I believe that this requires an international approach. Therefore, it’s good that we, as the E3 countries [Germany, France and the UK], will continue our discussions with [Turkish] President [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan,” she added….”

EU rejects Trump Middle East peace plan, annexation
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-israel-palestinians-eu/eu-rejects-trump-middle-east-peace-plan-annexation-idUSKBN1ZY1I9
“The European Union rejected parts of U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace plan for the Middle East on Tuesday, prompting an angry response from Israel which has strongly backed the U.S. proposal.
The plan, announced by Trump last week with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his side, was rejected outright by the Palestinians. It would give Israel most of what it has sought during decades of conflict, including nearly all Palestinian land on which it has built settlements.
The EU, which often takes time to respond to international developments because of a need for unanimity among its 27 members, had said last week that it needed to study the Trump plan before it would give its verdict.
It made its conclusions public on Tuesday in a statement from EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, who said Trump’s plan departs from “internationally agreed parameters”.
“To build a just and lasting peace, the unresolved final status issues must be decided through direct negotiations between both parties,” Borrell said, noting the issues of the borders of a Palestinian state and the final status of Jerusalem were among those still in dispute.
Steps by Israel to annex Palestinian territory, “if implemented, could not pass unchallenged,” Borrell said.
Israel responded sharply to the remarks by Borrell, a Spaniard in office since the start of December.
“The fact that the High Rep of the EU, Josep Borrell, chose to use threatening language towards Israel, so shortly after he assumed office & only hours after his meetings in Iran, is regrettable &, to say the least, odd,” tweeted Israeli Foreign ministry Spokesman Lior Haiat.
“Pursuing such policies & conduct is the best way to ensure that the EU’s role in any process will be minimized.”
EU policy in the Middle East tends to be cautious, as the bloc includes members with varying degrees of sympathy towards the Palestinians and Israel. Some EU members have already recognized a Palestinian state, although the bloc as a whole says this is a matter to be resolved in peace talks.
The EU condemned Trump’s decision in 2017 to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, saying Washington had compromised its position as a mediator for peace.”
Dutch Police Investigate Anti-Immigrant Leader for Slandering Moroccans
https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2020/02/292784/dutch-police-investigate-anti-immigrant-leader-for-slandering-moroccans/
“Dutch politician Thierry Baudet is facing a police investigation after he falsely claimed that four Moroccan men “seriously harassed” his two female friends on a train.
The “incident” happened on the train from Weesp to Amsterdam at around 8:45 p.m. on Friday, January 31.
The rightwing populist leader and founder of the Netherlands’ anti-immigration Forum for Democracy (FvD) did not witness the “harassment” himself but posted about it on his social media nonetheless.
“This evening two dear friends were seriously harassed by four Moroccans on a train,” Baudet posted on Instagram and Twitter.
“Filing a complaint is of course completely useless. Oh dear, childishly naive Dutch! Finally vote for change. Break free from politically correct bullshit! Save this country.”
Baudet then shared a photo of his female friends and their alleged harassers on the train.
The Guardian reports that the Dutch national rail operator NS debunked Baudet’s photo yesterday after several witnesses came forward to refute Baudet’s version of events.
NS stated that the men in the photo were three ticket inspectors and a police officer dressed in, a tactic used to prevent passengers from dodging ticket checks.
Baudet’s female friends did not believe that the ticket collectors were NS employees and refused to show their tickets, the rail operator continued. The employees identified themselves and summoned a police officer.
A spokesman for NS maintained that its employees had behaved appropriately.
Police are looking into the incident’s racist undertones, given Baudet’s unabashed anti-immigrant rhetoric.
Amid the police investigation, Baudet has maintained that his friends faced “intimidating verbal and non-verbal behavior” by the men on the train, who “aggressively demonstrated their ‘legitimacy.’”
“Even after showing valid tickets, the group of men stayed around them for the rest of the journey in a way intimidating for the women,” he stated in a post on Facebook.
“The women in question have felt very unsafe both during the remainder of the train trip,” Baudet added.
Although the politician admitted his accusations were in poor taste, he doubled down on his anti-immigration stance.
“I have drawn the issue too hasty in a broader political context; the context of the consequences of mass immigration, integration problems and the lack of security that many Dutch people see and experience daily.”
Several Dutch parliamentarians have denounced Baudet’s response to his friends’ claims.
The leader of the GreenLeft party, Jesse Klaver, argued that Baudet’s behavior was “what the far-right does—sling racist mud into the world.”
Meanwhile, the anti-racist Denk party has called for a debate on the consequences of politicians spreading “lies and hateful tweets.”
“If you have Moroccan blood flowing through your veins, Thierry Baudet sees you as a potential criminal, despite your Dutch heart,” said MP Zohair el Yassini.”

Muslim leaders have done a disservice to Islam: PM Imran
https://tribune.com.pk/story/2149987/1-pm-imran-attributes-islamophobia-ignorance/
“Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said Muslim leaders did a disservice to Islam and were not able to explain to the West the difference between the religion of peace and terrorism. He also attributed Islamophobia to ignorance.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said Muslim leaders did a disservice to Islam and were not able to explain to the West the difference between the religion of peace and terrorism. He also attributed Islamophobia to ignorance.
Speaking at the Institute of Strategic and International Studies Malaysia in Kuala Lampur, the premier regretted the failure of Muslim nations to educate the West on why blasphemy was a sensitive subject for Muslims.
The premier flew to the Southeast Asian country in a bid to underline importance Pakistan attaches to Kuala Lumpur. The visit is seen as significant since it comes merely a few weeks after the Kuala Lumpur summit. the premier pulled out of the event attended by leaders from Iran, Turkey, Qatar besides host Malaysia.
Pakistan initially confirmed its participation at the summit but changed its mind after Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries voiced concerns over it.
Riyadh viewed the summit as an attempt to create a new Islamic bloc. Islamabad made frantic efforts to convince the Saudi leadership to join the moot but could not bridge the differences between Kuala Lumpur and the oil-rich kingdom.
Imran recalled speaking to Dr Mahathir and Turkish President Recap Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly 2019 and formulating a plan to combat Islamophobia.
The premier said the idea behind KL Summit was to meet and highlight Islamophobia and to use a medium that would correct misconceptions about Islam. “Some is deliberately done by those who want to demonise Islam but most of the time due to ignorance.”
Imran said the platform would also educate the Muslim youth. He reflected that the children today has access to vast information on just their fingertips. “There is a need to give the children alternate information such as the history of Islam.
“With new technologies such as artificial intelligence, it is important to create a narrative,” he said and emphasised on educating children on the origins of Islam and misconceptions.
Praising religious tolerance in Malaysia, the prime minister elaborated on certain watershed moments in recent history, which in his opinion further fueled Islamophobia across the world.
“The Iranian revolution spread this in the West that the Muslim world will be taken over by a revolution. An anti-West revolution. It sprouted the idea of an anti-Western interest and then in 1989, Salman Rushdi wrote a blasphemous book. It became the second watershed moment because the reaction of the Muslim world could not be understood by the West.”
“They [West] needed to understand why we considered it blasphemy. I consider that the Muslim world’s biggest failure. It was up to the Muslim leadership to explain why it mattered so much to us. We need to tell them why we love the Holy Prophet (PBUH).”
He further said that religion in the West, particularly in Europe, is not practised in the same manner as Muslims practice their religion. “They have a completely different attitude.”
He added that the leaders of the Muslim world should have explained why such issues cause anguish to Muslims. “That’s where the idea that Islam is intolerant and against western values came into being.”
PM Imran added that the Muslim world should have objected when the West linked the terror attacks of 9/11 to Islamic terrorism. “There was no connection between Islam and that terrorist act.”
The premier regretted Muslim leaders not questioning the West linking Islam to terrorism. Instead of de-linking terrorism especially suicide bombing, he continued, the Muslim world adopted the same terminology of “moderate and radical Islam”.
A man in New Zealand walked into a mosque and killed dozens because he could not tell the difference between a normal Muslim and a terrorist, reflected the premier.
The prime minister emphasised that religion cannot be enforced, rather it flows from the heart and soul.
Poverty alleviation
Prime Minister Imran Khan also reiterated his government’s plan of making Pakistan into a welfare state and said the country has prioritised poverty alleviation despite a troubled economy.
He also said the biggest issue in Pakistan is the inequality between the social classes.
“We’ve given healthcare, built shelter homes. We allocated the greatest amount of money for the poverty alleviation department; Ehsaas Programme through which we give cash, livestock, loans, vocational training and scholarships to the poor section of the society.”
“We have elites who are above the law. We have cartels and mafia who wield their powers to create artificial inflation.”
The premier also said that “China is a model as it lifted 700 million out of poverty”.”
Turkey neutralizes almost 90 terrorists in January
https://www.aa.com.tr/en/turkey/turkey-neutralizes-almost-90-terrorists-in-january/1724008
“In January, nationwide operations neutralized 88 terrorists in Turkey, a government official said on Tuesday.
Deputy Interior Minister Ismail Catakli told a monthly press briefing that Turkish forces carried out some 8,000 counter-terrorism operations in cities and rural areas last month.
Turkish authorities often use the term “neutralized” to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.
Out of total, 40 terrorists were captured, while 48 surrendered and they were the members of the PKK and Daesh/ISIS terror groups, Catakli elaborated.
The security forces destroyed almost 100 caves, shelters and hideouts used by the PKK during anti-terror efforts, which seized tens of weapons, hand grenades and improvised explosive devices, as well…”
US: Alabama eyes revoking FETO-linked charter school
https://www.aa.com.tr/en/americas/us-alabama-eyes-revoking-feto-linked-charter-school/1724241
“Officials in the U.S. state of Alabama voted to consider withdrawing the right to operate of a public charter school a Texas-based member of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) wants to open.
The Alabama Public Charter School Commission denied a request for a deadline extension to obtain the necessary certificate of occupancy for the school by Woodland Prep officials in a vote Monday, local website AL.com reported.
“Today’s vote by the Alabama Public Charter School Commission denied a request by Woodland Prep officials to extend the deadline to obtain a certificate of occupancy for the school. That denial opened the door for the Commission to begin revocation procedures,” said the site.
Woodland Prep in Washington County, near the city of Mobile, has been the subject of fierce public opposition since the state approved its charter in May 2018, despite major shortcomings and a lack of educational standards and credentials.
Locals oppose charter school project
In August, the Alabama Education Association (AEA) filed a lawsuit against the controversial school, citing strong public opposition.
The lawsuit claimed that Soner Tarim “engaged in fraudulent conduct to conceal the extent of his involvement with the non-profit organization that is allegedly behind the creation of Woodland Prep, a charter school located in Washington County.”
Tarim, one of the key figures running FETO’s charter school network in the U.S., is the CEO of Unity School Services (USS) in Sugar Land, Texas, which manages Woodland Prep, and he was the founder of Harmony Schools, a charter school network in Texas.
According to an earlier report by the Alabama Reporter magazine: “A copy of the USS contract with the Woodland Prep board shows that Tarim will make 15 percent of all federal, state and local funds received by Woodland. If Woodland’s projected enrollment of 260 students is accurate, Tarim will make more than $300,000,” making him the highest paid official in the poverty-stricken county.
It also said “legal questions” had been raised about Harmony as well as Tarim’s use of the schools to exploit a visa program and skirt hiring laws to give contract jobs to Turkish workers and teachers.
“There have also been other, education-related problems, such as a massive grade-change scandal at Harmony in Texas and financial fraud allegations related to grants at other Gulen schools,” reported the magazine.
FETO has a considerable presence internationally, including private schools — more than 150 charter schools in the U.S. — and hospitals which serve as a revenue stream for the terror group.
FETO and its U.S.-based billionaire leader Gulen, is accused of orchestrating the defeated coup of July 15, 2016, which left 251 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.
Turkey also accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary.”
US city appoints first Turkish-American police chief
https://www.aa.com.tr/en/americas/us-city-appoints-first-turkish-american-police-chief/1724546
“The city of Paterson in the U.S. state of New Jersey appointed its first Turkish-American and Muslim police chief Tuesday.
Ibrahim “Mike” Baycora was sworn in with his left hand on a copy of the Quran as Paterson’s 17th police chief during a ceremony at city hall. He has been serving at the city’s police department for more than three decades.
The ceremony began with the national anthem and prayers and was attended by members of the Turkish community in New York and New Jersey, senior officials from Paterson’s local government and Baycora’s family and relatives.
Baycora replaced Troy Oswald, who retired as of February.
Speaking at the ceremony, Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh said “Merhaba,” “Hosgeldiniz” and “Nas?ls?n?” in the Turkish language, meaning ‘Hello,’ ‘Welcome’ and ‘How are you?’
Sayegh said Baycora “will be the first Turkish police chief in the history of the United States of America. He will be the first Muslim police chief in the city of Paterson.”
The U.S. has made history, he added.
Baycora, for his part, said he was proud of his nationality and origin.
“As a kid from the east side of Paterson who grew up here attending school, Paterson has been my home for the better part of half a century,” he said.
“Paterson has been in my blood my whole life, and now to be its police chief after a 32-year career — what an honor.”
Speaking to Anadolu Agency following the ceremony, Baycora said: “I am so happy, so blessed.”
“In this country, there is opportunity. It does not matter where you come from.”
Baycora, 60, came to the U.S. as an infant and grew up in Paterson.

Wuhan lockdown: What is going on inside?
BREITBART – Google Censors the Congressional Record
Google-owned video giant YouTube blacklisted a Breitbart News video of a recent speech on the Senate floor by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) in which Paul names the alleged “whistleblower” as Eric Ciaramella.
The video included the Senator’s arguments surrounding the impeachment trial, meaning that YouTube is now censoring the congressional and historical record of impeachment.
After Breitbart News uploaded the video to its official channel, YouTube promptly locked the video in “private” mode, meaning that only a maximum of 50 viewers invited to see the video may watch it. It is therefore inaccessible to the general public.
“I don’t care whether it’s Republican or Democrat. We cannot allow the intelligence community, secret courts like the FISA court, to go after political campaigns,” said Sen. Paul, in the speech.
“You’ve got Peter Strzok and Lisa Page talking about taking down the president, having an “insurance policy” against him succeeding and becoming the president. You’ve got McCabe, you’ve got Comey, you’ve got Clapper — you remember James Clapper, the one who came to the Senate and when asked by Sen. Wyden ‘are you storing, are you gathering information from Americans by the millions and storing it on government computers,’ James Clapper said ‘no.’”
“He lied to Congress. Nobody chose to impeach him. But he lied to Congress and committed a felony. Is he in jail? No — he’s making millions of dollars as a contributor on television now, using and peddling his national security influence for dollars, after having committed a felony in lying to us. These are the people who plotted to bring the president down. These are the people who continue to plot to bring the president down.”
Later in his speech, Sen. Paul repeated the question that he was forbidden from putting to Democrats during official impeachment proceedings.
“Manager Schiff and Counsel for the President, are you aware that house intelligence committee staffer Shawn Misko had a close relationship with Eric Ciaramella when at the National Security council together, and are you aware and how do you respond to reports that Ciaramella and Misko may have worked together to plot impeaching the President before there were formal House proceedings?”
Despite the fact that numerous national-level politicians, journalists, and media personalities have identified Eric Ciaramella as the alleged whistleblower, Silicon Valley companies have refused to relax their censorship of his name. Facebook previously said it would lift the ban if enough public figures named the alleged whistleblower, but it has not done so. Twitter does not have an official policy banning the naming of Ciaramella as the alleged whistleblower, but it has mistakenly taken down accounts for mentioning his name.
