1. French police shoot barracks intruder following attack warning

PARIS (Reuters) – Police shot and wounded a man armed with a knife after he attacked officers inside a police barracks in eastern France on Monday.

 

Shortly before the knifeman struck the police facility in Dieuze, near Metz, the local police operations center received warning that an atrocity was to be committed in the name of Islamic State, French news agency AFP quoted the local prosecutor as saying.

 

“We must relate the facts to a call received by the operational center of the gendarmerie shortly before, in which an individual declared that he was a soldier, that there was going to be carnage in Dieuze and that he was a member of Islamic State,” prosecutor Christian Mercuri was quoted as telling a news conference in the area.

Jewish Students Told Their ‘Vibes’ Are Not Welcome at York U Multicultural Parade

Toronto (January 28, 2020) – Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) is outraged by another display of blatant antisemitism at York University yesterday, after the student union’s multicultural parade was officially opened by a student wearing a shirt that said “anti-Zionist vibes only.”

 

The parade’s rebuke of Jewish students and the Jewish movement for self-determination was particularly disturbing given that it fell on International Holocaust Remembrance Day. 

 

“It is almost beyond belief that York’s student union would think it is appropriate for its representative to wear clothing bearing an antisemitic slogan at an event to celebrate multiculturalism,” said Avi Benlolo, President and CEO of FSWC. “It is well past time that the York Administration steps up and takes a firm and determined stand against the antisemitism flourishing on its campus.”

(Muslims once again manage to make themselves into the victims of a situation where they are the aggressors. This by the way is classical islamic thought. The Islamic imperative of “Defending the faith”, which sounds quite reasonable to Western ears, actually means that when they are pursuing total Islamic manifest destiny and supremacy, anyone who opposes or impedes them is attacking Islam, and offers even more legal justification for them to use force on non-Muslims. 6. Oxford Prof. offers to accommodate students demanding divestment from all fossil fuel companies by turning off the heat at the school.

How do you respond when placard-waving students occupy your 15th-century quadrangle and refuse to leave until you sell the college’s shares in oil companies? As this is Oxford, naturally you present them with a philosophical dilemma.

Two students at St John’s College wrote to Andrew Parker, the principal bursar, this week requesting a meeting to discuss the protesters’ demands, which are that the college “declares a climate emergency and immediately divests from fossil fuels”. They say that the college, the richest in Oxford, has £8 million of its £551 million endowment fund invested in BP and Shell.

Professor Parker responded with a provocative offer. “I am not able to arrange any divestment at short notice,” he wrote. “But I can arrange for the gas…

10. Bus terror man psych test ordered

(ANSA) – Milan, February 3 – A Milan court on Monday ordered a psychiatric assessment of a 47-year-old man accused of hijacking and torching a bus with over 50 schoolchildren, two teachers and a janitor aboard near Milan last March.
    The assessment will help decide whether Senegalese-Italian Ousseynou Sy was in full possession of his mental faculties when he hijacked the bus.
    Sy told the court last month he is neither a killer nor a terrorist despite his apparent attempt to kill the occupants of his vehicle.
    “I am neither a killer nor a terrorist and I hope justice will be done also for us Africans”, the defendant said in a spontaneous statement to the court.
    “I am also a son of Africa, the Africa that you know very well, that has seen its sons deprived of human dignity, of any right to serenity, of happiness, even today”.
    The man is accused of hijacking the bus with 50 pupils, two teachers and a janitor on board in San Donato Milanese on March 20.

11. Boris Admits ‘Really Very Few’ Islamists Can Be Rehabilitated, ‘We Need to Be Frank About That’

(Boris Johnson just keeps getting better and better!)

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has admitted that “really very few” Islamists can be successfully rehabilitated, and says it’s time to emphasise “the custodial option” to protect the public.

 

The Tory leader was speaking after Sudesh Amman stabbed multiple people in Streatham, London, just days after he received automatic early release from a short prison sentence for terror offences.

 

Amman was the second radical Islamic terrorist who struck while out on automatic early release in a row, with London Bridge killer Usman Khan having also been a freed terror convict.

 

“I’m going to level with you,” Johnson began, in response to a journalist who asked him if the public could be sure that terror convicts were coming out of prison less dangerous than when they went in.

 

“I think, looking at the problems we have with re-educating and reclaiming and rehabilitating people who succumb to Islamism, it’s very, very hard, and very tough, and it can happen, but the instances of success are really very few,” he confessed.
