I would hope that someone in the Iranian administration is familiar enough with US politics to tell the powers that be that a non-binding resolution from one house of Congress has no effect on the CIC. It really is just for show and domestic consumption.
Because if Iran doesn’t understand that and continues to act in a provocative fashion Trump is really going to slap them hard… But, somehow I do think Iran understands that.
Most of the Dictators in the world know that, they also know that by playing ignorant the US media will cover for them as long as the Dem Party supports the Dictators. This is why every Dictator in the world spends part of their stolen money to bribe Dems to support them. I hope that when Iran and China fall we can lay our hands on the documents that will prove this.
I’m not so sure they get it.
Israelis and Arabs see inconsistency in this administration. There’s been excessive shuffling in line of command – DoS, DoD, Pentagon, on down. They’re unable to brief their foreign counterparts; messages are mixed and sometimes contradictory.
While our allies are thrilled at this latest turn of events, they don’t have confidence in follow through. PT might turn to the isolationist faction at home and pull out of Iraq tomorrow. Then reverse himself two days later, after 50,000 civilians have been displaced.
Things might improve after the election, but not necessarily. It’s the Prez’s style.
