2. Fire in catholic church St. Johannes Bosco in Essen, Germany
(It’s like Catholic institutions were built out of matches. Except these now daily events seem to have pretty much never happened before 2010 or so.)
In the church St. Johannes Bosco in Essen district Bochold there was a fire today Thursday morning. Parts of the nativity scene, which is built up in the chancel, have been damaged by the fire. A volunteer worker who was preparing the church for the service planned for 8.45 a.m. noticed the fire and, with the assistance of another worker, extinguished the fire that had broken out in the rear area of the crib. A fire extinguisher and a watering can were used.
The alarmed fire brigade removed the burnt remains to the outside and used a ventilator to expel the fire smoke from the church. The service had to be cancelled because the smell of burning was still noticeable after the ventilation.
(The fire started in or near the nativity scene. Now that’s odd. One might almost think someone had a hate on for Christian and especially Catholic iconography and mythos.)

Ilhan Omar has been slammed for offending veterans with her claims that she has been ‘stricken by PTSD’ at talk of war after US military action against Iran last week.
‘I feel ill a little bit because of everything that is taking place and I think every time I hear conversations around war, I find myself being stricken with PTSD.’ Omar told a press conference Wednesday.
The Minnesota Democrat was also filmed snickering with Rashida Tlaib and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in the background while Sheila Jackson Lee made somber comments about the loss of US lives during the Iraq War.
During Omar’s speech she had turned back to look at those far-left ‘Squad’ members, saying: ‘I find peace knowing that I serve with great advocates for peace and people who have shown courage against war.’
5. 3 Daesh Module Terrorists Held After Shootout in Indian Capital, Terror Bid Foiled – Police
New Delhi (Sputnik): Several intelligence units have been carrying out searches across the country against people associated with terrorist organisations like Daesh* or al-Qaeda* who may be planning to carry out terror attacks in India.
With the arrest of three suspected terrorists following an exchange of fire, police on Thursday claimed to have busted a Daesh-inspired module planning a terror strike in India’s national capital city.
According to law enforcement, the terrorists are part of a Tamil Nadu-based Daesh module involving preparation to carry out militant attacks in the country as part of a bid to establish Islamic rule.
The three were identified as Khaja Moideen (52), Syed Ali Navas (32), and Abdul Samad (28) and hail from the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
On 9 January, specific inputs were received that the absconding terrorists had shifted to Delhi from Nepal and taken a room on rent, as well as had also procured arms and ammunition, said Pramod Singh Kushwaha, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Special Cell.
6. Somali Migrant Attacker Calls Police After His Victim Defends Himself Too Violently
A Somali migrant in Germany called the police after he attacked a man on New Year’s Eve and his victim defended himself with unexpected enthusiasm.
The initial aggression took place at the Geradstetten railway station in the municipality of Remshalden, 11 miles outside of Stuttgart, and saw the 25-year-old Somali randomly attack another man at around 2 pm in the afternoon, newspaper Stuttgarter Nachrichtenreports.
According to investigators, the victim not only defended himself but viciously fought back against the Somali man, possibly using a glass bottle, which led to the migrant receiving several lacerations to the face, one tooth knocked out, and injuries to his tongue.
Following the altercation, the migrant called the police and was taken to a local hospital to treat his injuries. While police say they have opened a case against the Somali for the initial attack, they also claimed to have started investigations into the victim for his actions, as well, to determine if the man overstepped acceptable self-defence laws.

8. A Danish blogger had police raid his home and take all of his electronics a few months ago. They have not contacted him since.
