Berlin, once located in the heart of Germany like Paris in France, is now 30 km from the eastern border. Not only cars are stolen there, but also whole construction machines like excavators. Sometimes entire sections of rail lines are missing, even cables and pipelines are stolen because of the copper.
They missed the quaint morality lessons we were taught: don’t kick a man when he’s down, or don’t pile on, or two against one’s unfair.
