WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump says a U.S. warship destroyed an Iranian drone in the Strait of Hormuz amid heightened tensions between the two countries.
Trump says it’s the latest “hostile” action by Iran. He’s calling on other countries to condemn what he says are Iran’s attempts to disrupt the freedom of navigation and global commerce in the strategic waterway in the Persian Gulf region.
Trump says the USS Boxer took defensive action after the drone closed to within 1,000 yards of the warship and ignored multiple calls to stand down.
The president says the drone threatened the safety of the American ship and its crew.

For those of you that do not accept that the government of Canada can force you to not be able to turn off your tele screen (Cell phone) to its various alerts, you can install free software called ADB Bridge and run this command using the terminal software on your Mac or PC:

And in theory, this should disable all emergency alerts.
Personally I think everyone in Canada should do this until the government lets us take back our natural right to decide what alerts we want. I am not against the existence of Amber alerts for instance. But most certainly you should be able to opt out. As we saw last week, hundreds of thousands, if not a million people were awakened twice in a row in the middle of the night for an event over which we know nothing and have no control.
The government media complex attempts to shame those that complain by saying the child returned, but they skillfully avoid saying whether or not it was because of said alert. Which means it likely was not.
And it doesn’t matter if it was. We all have emergencies. We do not disturb the entire province with them. People should be able to turn off the alerts if they do not want them. Above is, at least in theory, how to do so. Perhaps if enough people disable them, the same idiot who lectures the US president on what he can and cannot say, will let us decide what we can allow the CRTC to do or not do with our own personal equipment.
I could at this point make up examples of why some people should not have to get them. The elderly, the sick, those suffering from PTSD etc. But in truth it makes no difference. ANYONE should have the right to not have to get these alerts. This is government overreach and the only reason required to not get them is not wanting them. A healthy 22 year old that just doesn’t care should have the same rights as a fragile Afghanistan vet with 3 tours outside the wire with profound PTSD triggered by alarms. Because its about freedom from government.
