“Tensions between Iran and the United States nearly escalated into a dangerous direct confrontation on Thursday as President Donald Trump approved airstrikes against Tehran following the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ downing of a US spy drone, but abruptly backtracked on his decision.
US President Donald Trump took advice from one of his favourite Fox News anchors, Tucker Carlson, before cancelling a strike on Iran earlier this week, The New York Times reported.
According to the newspaper, while advisers to Trump were calling for a military strike against Iran in response to the downing of an American drone that Tehran claimed violated its airspace, Carlson told the POTUS that the use of force would be “crazy”.
The anchor of Trump’s beloved TV channel reportedly convinced him that the “hawks” in the US administration did not have the president’s best interests at heart, and that if Trump unleashed a war on Tehran, he could kiss his chances of 2020 re-election goodbye.
The NYT pointed out that Carlson was not the only person who appealed to Trump’s reason, but didn’t specify as to whose opinion has as well convinced the head of state to call off the strike at the very last moment.
As the US president scrubbed the mission, he allegedly turned on his TV at the White House to watch the opening of Carlson’s show, where the presenter stated that “foreign wars have ended in dismal failure for the United States”.
Even though the decision hadn’t been made public yet, Carlson heaped praise on Trump for resisting military intervention in Iran.
“The same people who lured us into the Iraq quagmire 16 years ago are demanding a new war, this one with Iran. The president, to his great credit, appears to be sceptical of this — very sceptical”, Carlson said onscreen.
In a Friday interview with NBC, President Trump discussed the decision-making process that led him to eventually cancel strikes on Tehran, saying that he hadn’t given final approval to any military operation and added that no planes were in the air.
The POTUS explained that he had asked his generals to estimate the casualties in the event of a strike and realised that the loss of life would be disproportionate to the downing of an unmanned US drone.
“I thought about it for a second and I said, you know what, they shot down an unmanned drone, plane, whatever you want to call it, and here we are sitting with a 150 dead people that would have taken place probably within a half an hour after I said go ahead. And I didn’t like it, I didn’t think, I didn’t think it was proportionate”, he told NBC’s Chuck Todd.
Before the interview, Trump took to Twitter to announce that he halted a military strike against three sites in Iran 10 minutes before it was set to be carried out upon learning that some 150 Iranians would die in the attack.
His decision was made shortly after the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that they had brought down a US Northrop Grumman RQ-4 Global Hawk surveillance drone flying over the coastal Hormozgan Province because it had violated the country’s airspace. The US Central Command has, for its part, said that the UAV was hit while operating over international waters in the Strait of Hormuz.
IRGC Commander-in-Chief, Major General Hossein Salami, said on Thursday that the downing of the drone was a “clear message” to Washington that Tehran would “react strongly” to any aggression.
“Iran is not seeking war with any country, but we are fully prepared to defend Iran”, he continued, describing Iran’s borders as its red line.
Both sides have released maps of the drone’s reported flight path. While the Iranian map indicated that the UAV was in Iranian airspace, the US map showed that it was in international airspace over the Strait of Hormuz.
The drone’s destruction was the latest episode of the escalation of tensions in the region, and follows a series of sabotage attacks against oil tankers in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman blamed on Tehran by Washington and its allies – allegations which the Iranian side has strongly denied.
The developments likewise come against the backdrop of the US deployment of an aircraft carrier strike group and a bomber task force to the Middle East to send a “clear and unmistakable message” to Iran that any attack on American interests or those of its allies would be met with “unrelenting force”.
Relations between Washington and Tehran have gone into a downward spiral since May 2018, when Donald Trump withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal and reinstated all sanctions against the Islamic Republic. SUNDAY
At 1.15am on Sunday, a teenager was left fighting for his life in Glasgow after a man jumped out of a taxi and stabbed him.
At 3am, a man, 29, was stabbed multiple times during a random attack by three teenage boys in Crewe, Cheshire.
Three boys, two of 14 and one of 16, were arrested. Back in Scotland, at 6pm, police cordoned off the Burnbank Centre, Hamilton, after a man was stabbed.
Detectives in London, already investigating a series of stabbings and shootings, responded at 9.40pm to reports of gunshots fired on the Tulse Hill Estate in south London. A 17-year-old male was found in a critical condition with gunshot wounds near the Jubilee Hall Community Centre.
MONDAY
Just half an hour into the first working day, there was a fatal stabbing.
Paramedics alerted police at 12.40am to an unresponsive man with multiple stab wounds found in Stratford, east London.
Giedrius Juskauskas, 42, a Lithuanian, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Later than morning, at 5.11am, police found the body of Safie Xheta, 35, with knife wounds to the neck.
At 11.38am armed police swamped Leyton, east London, following a shooting, where a man was found with non-life threatening gunshot wounds . That afternoon, police found the body of disabled mother-of-two Valerie Richardson, whose throat was slashed, at her flat in Fife, Scotland.
The body of Ross Thom, 39, was nearby. His death is unexplained, but detectives believe he murdered then killed himself.
Police in Edinburgh found Alistair Edmond, 37, with serious stab wounds at around 4pm. He later died in hospital.
Gary Walker, 52, from Edinburgh, was later charged with murder.
On the same day,Waltham Forest Council released a study that backed a nationwide “public health” approach to violence.
TUESDAY
A man in his 30s was found in Crieff Square, Sunderland, at 12.30am in a serious but stable condition.
Detectives believe he was hit by a car on purpose after an incident involving a gang.
At 2.20am, a 15-year-old boy was left fighting for his life after being stabbed 20 times in Luton.
The same day, Home Secretary Sajid Javid announced a £35million boost to 18 police forces for violence reduction units.
At 2pm, an 18-year-old man was stabbed in the back inAshton-under-Lyne.Two men were stabbed in a fight at Kensal Green, north London, at 3.30pm.
Cabbie John MacMillan, 70, was discovered with chest and throat injuries at a house in Barrow, Cumbria, at about 6.40pm, before he was declared dead.
At 10.50pm, police found three men with stab wounds in Barnet, north London. One of them, David Bello-Monerville, 38, was later pronounced dead. His brother Joseph, 19, was shot in the head as he sat in a car in 2013, while brother Trevor, 26, was stabbed to death by a gang in 1994.
At 11.45pm, a tent was set ablaze in Wanstead, east London.Two men, believed to be in their 40s, were inside. One died, the other was badly hurt.Two men have been charged with murder, attempted murder and arson.
WEDNESDAY
The day had barely started when, at 12.20am, a man in his 30s was found lying stabbed in Loughborough, Leicestershire.
At 8.15am, a man in his late teens suffered head injuries and was stabbed during a robbery in King Street, Telford. A man in his 30s was later arrested.
At 12.35pm, a man was stabbed in the neck at Warner Brothers Studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire, where a new adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The Witches, starring Anne Hathaway, is being produced. A man was arrested.
Just over three hours later, a boy, 14, was knifed in broad daylight after school in Lewisham, south London.
At 8.50pm, police were called to Leeds city centre to reports of a knife fight where a 21-year-old man was found with stab injuries.
He was arrested as were two other men.
At 10pm in Bootle, Merseyside, a man got off a motorbike and fired a gun towards a group of youths.
No one was hit during the shooting.
Fifteen minutes later, police in Barnsley, received a call to say that a 69-year-old man had suffered a gunshot wound to his arm.
Back at King Street, Telford, at 11.50pm, but in an apparently unrelated incident, a man in his 40s and a woman in her 20s were taken to hospital with suspected stab wounds following an attack at a property.
THURSDAY
A 14-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after being stabbed in Chester at 3pm.A 15-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder.
In Oxford, an hour and a half later, a 23-year-old was stabbed in the stomach, while a man in his 20s was stabbed inWalsall.
The panel of BBC show Question Time, held in Tottenham, north London, that evening were left dumbstruck when a grandmother of 14 in the audience, right, shouted at them that they had done nothing to stop youths on the streets stabbing each other while they argued over Brexit.
As the episode was screened, police were investigating a stabbing outside a Leicester pub where, at around 10pm, a 21-year-old was stabbed in the back.
Then, at 10.50pm, police cordoned off five houses and arrested a man, 32, after gun shots were fired in Rochdale.
A man was pronounced dead at a property in Middlesbrough after being found injured at 11.15pm. Jessica Breeze, 19, was later charged with his murder.
FRIDAY
A man, 24, was stabbed in the face and chest during an attack in the centre of Edinburgh at 3am.
At the same time, in Bootle, a house and car were set on fire in an arson police believe may be linked to Wednesday’s gun shots.
Then, three men were injured in suspected acid attacks within hours of each other in east London.
Two other men, aged in their 20s, were also injured in a second incident in Hackney Downs shortly before 7.30pm.
A murder inquiry was launched after a man was stabbed to death in Bristol at 5.50pm.
At 11.08pm, police responded to reports of a fatal shooting in Feltham, west London.
Just two minutes after the shooting, a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in Islington, north London.
Later a 44-year-old man died in hospital after being stabbed in the Northamptonshire village of Little Harrowden.
Four men have been arrested.
A Home Office spokesman said: “This week we allocated £35million to police forces for violence reduction units.
“We have made it easier for police in affected areas to use stop and search powers.
“But there is still more to do and that is why we are investing more than £220million in projects to turn young people away from a life of crime.””

Two days ago, this last Saturday the 15th June 2019, I was insulted, attacked, violated and beaten violently by the staff member of Maroush Restaurant (Berlin, Adalbertstrasse 93). Summary: I asked the restaurant chef (in Arabic) not to put pickles in my sandwich, he makes me a sandwich with nothing but pickles, to upset me obviously. He told me to once it’s off the grill to check and if it had pickles he would make a new one. I check, and tell him indeed it has pickles and asked if he would make another. He threw aggressively the sandwich in the air, and told me to get out of the restaurant. I asked him to speak nicely, and said had I made my order in German or English he wouldn’t have attacked me like this. He then said to me that he finds me effeminate and slutty, and that he’s been watching me for days, and that he saw me with another man here a few days ago and didn’t want to serve me because he finds me effeminate. Indeed I was there several days ago and was badly treated (he slammed the food as he was giving it to me), and I would have not returned ever there, if it weren’t for my friend who was with me late on Saturday night and we both thought it should be ok. After I told him I would call the police, his insults escalated to include my parents (Fuck your mother, I will fuck your mother and your sister, I will fuck everyone in your family…). I leave the restaurant and he runs after me, grabs my neck and arm, slams me against a wall, punches my chest, twists my neck, steps on my foot so I can’t resist, scratches my body and grabs my chest and squeezes it, one hand slides through my clothes and claws at my skin, slaps me once, all while insulting and threatening me and my family. He tells me he would cut my leg if I ever stepped into that street. This goes for several minutes, while my friend tries to pull me from him, and two random men on the street (a young waiter at the restaurant next door, and a random older man who later introduced himself to be Moroccan). The staff at the restaurant next door (Hasir Burger) watched the attack and did nothing except for the young waiter. The young waiter told me to give him the phone and he would call the police in German and give a report for them to come, on my behalf, which he did. After I called the police, waiting 15 minutes for them to come, on the street, the attacker steps out and comes towards me to attack me for a second time and tells me I am not allowed to sit at any restaurant on Adalbertsrasse ever, and that he will make sure I never walk on this street unharmed. The police arrives, takes my statement, his statement, and the statement of my friend who was with me. The police didn’t offer to take me to a clinic or a hospital, and said they couldn’t drive me home because it would be an insurance liability. They said they will email me a case report. Maroush has sexually harassed female friends of mine before, and verbally attacked queer friends. It is a restaurant on one of Berlin’s most queer and bar-filled restaurants, but obviously they have a problem with that. I feel unsafe, I feel humiliated and in agonizing physical pain since the weekend. Nobody is safe to go there.

Two officials told The Associated Press that the strikes were conducted with approval from Trump. A third official confirmed the broad outlines of the strike. All spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the operation.
The cyberattacks — a contingency plan developed over weeks amid escalating tensions — disabled Iranian computer systems that controlled its rocket and missile launchers, the officials said. Two of the officials said the attacks, which specifically targeted Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps computer system, were provided as options after Iranian forces blew up two oil tankers earlier this month.

Violence Erupts as West Turns Its Sexual Subversion Weapon on Georgia
With apologies to Alfred, Lord Tennyson, it’s June, when a young man’s (or woman’s, or sexually indeterminate person’s) fancy lightly turns to thoughts of nontraditional “love” of any variety expressed by the ever-growing LGBTTQQIAAP alphabet soup. In downtown Washington it’s impossible to swing a cat without hitting a rainbow flag or a “Pride” enthusiast.
If anyone was under the impression that established religion was a thing of the past in secular, postmodern societies, he, she, it, they, ze, sie, hir, co, or ey are mistaken. There is in fact an official religion of the “democratic” West, and LGBT++ etcetera is it.
A symptom of that is corporations’ display of rainbow versions of their logos, a demonstration that their plutocratic money-grubbing is duly balanced by piety. This includes the Cartoon Network, a sign that the effort to initiate kids into the satanic LGBT++ “church” is becoming increasingly overt. Really, with abominations like “Drag Queen Story Hour” they hardly even bother to hide it anymore.
Ending the traditional family founded on marriage and the birth of children is the intended but hidden goal, as confirmed in 2012 by Soviet-born LGBT activist Masha Gessen, prior to the US Supreme’s Court’s establishing same-sex marriage nationwide:

(Mystifyingly, there is no effort to force such demonstrations on Riyadh, Islamabad, etc.) Recent targets of such sexual subversion have been Ukraine (where it has been a key element of the US State Department’s and the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s attack on the canonical Orthodox Church) and Moldova (where the US embassy took the lead in a joint statement hailing the “the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia [and] … support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI)”). Our tax dollars at work!
The message to traditional societies still grounded in Christian morality but with elites committed to “a European course,” meaning membership in NATO and (perhaps someday…) the European Union is that it’s a package deal. You don’t get to pick which part of western “democracy, human rights and free markets” you want and which you don’t. You can’t have transatlanticism without transgenderism. So shut up, grit your teeth, and take it . . .
At this very moment Ground Zero for the West’s campaign to undermine the traditional Christian concept of the family is Georgia, where the usual suspects – foreign embassies and their controlled NGOs, working in concert with George Soros’s Open Society groups – were determined to hold Tbilisi’s first Pride parade this week. As reported by Orthodox Christianity on June 17:
‘Georgia is a deeply traditional country, with more than 80% of the population belonging to the Orthodox Church, and the battle between traditional, Orthodox values and more liberal, secularized values is being prompted and aggravated not only by the nation’s LGBT community, but by the great Western powers, Archpriest David Isakadze, and others, believes.
‘“It is clearly evident who is controlling the processes in Georgia,” Fr. David said. “We truly want to be an independent country, not in word, but in deed. The U.S. authorities, in the person of the ambassador [Elizabeth Rood—O.C. (JGJ: Rood is actually Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., not ambassador)] directly interfere in our internal affairs. She wants to control the processes here and exacerbate the situation, knocking people against one another,” Fr. ‘David explained, noting that he and those of like mind are prepared to demand that the U.S. withdraw its acting ambassador if she does not immediately appeal to the participants in the LGBT event to disband.
‘The Georgian Patriarchate issued a statement on Friday, calling on the authorities to prevent the event, citing the divisions it causes in the traditional society that largely stands against the sinful nature of the LGBT lifestyle. At the same time, the Church declared that there must be no violence surrounding the events.’
Faced with massive public opposition – over 97 percent of respondents in a TV poll opposed the march! – Georgian authorities cancelled the parade. Opposition to the Pride event is being spearheaded by businessman and father of eight children Levan Vasadze, who predictably (along with conservative Christian American supporters, like Brian Brown of the International Organization for the Family) has been smeared by Soros-funded hate outfits like the Southern Poverty Law Center and RightWingWatch, together with solidly pro-LGBT Western media reporting (with the commendable exception of CBN’s George Thomas’s must watch interview with Vasadze) for stating what any unbiased observer knows is the truth in Georgia, as well as other post-communist countries:
‘Vasadze portrayed the LGBTQ movement as part of the “ugly heritage” of the “liberal domination” that “befell upon the world” after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Georgians had hoped to embrace western freedoms, he said, but instead the country is being destroyed by poverty and liberal abortion laws and he portrayed the push for LGBTQ equality as “the last nail in our coffin.” He said “our fragile puppet state is under tremendous pressure from the likes of George Soros” and the U.S. embassy.’
(If anything, Vasadze is being optimistic about his country’s demographic health: ‘In 2015, the National Statistics Office of Georgia released the results of the first census in more than a decade reflecting that the country’s population as of 2014 reduced to 3.7 million from 5.4 million in 1989. … “The United Nations has put Georgia on the list of ‘Dying Nations’ and ‘Dying Languages’,” [National Statistics Office of Georgia head] Zviad Tomaradze warned adding that according to the UN experts, in 2050 the Georgian population would decrease by 28 percent, while among the ethnic Georgians the depopulation will amount to 50 percent.”)
On June 19 the organizers of “Tbilisi Pride” and their foreign mentors and funders had declared that despite lack of a permit they would go through with their demonstration at an undisclosed time by Sunday, June 23. Then, late on Friday, June 21, local time, organizers declared the event postponed but “the rally would be held at a later date that was yet to be confirmed.” Translation: “We’ll be back when our opponents have been battered sufficiently into line. You can’t stop ‘democracy’!”
But don’t think the forces of Western progress and enlightenment are just sitting on their hands. The most effective defense is an offense. And, as the anti-Trump conspirators in the US-UK Deep State know, the best offense always is “Russia! Russia! Russia!”
A pretext came on Thursday, June 20, when an international group of legislators visited the Georgian parliament under the auspices of the Athens-based Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO). Uniting lawmakers from over a dozen countries, the IAO includes “parliamentarians throughout the world, Christian Orthodox in faith, with the aim of joining our common cultural aspect, that of religion, as the meeting point in the participation of structuring a contemporary complex reality.” During the visit, the president of IAO’s General Assembly, Russian State Duma Deputy Sergei Gavrilov, sat in the Speaker’s chair in the Georgian parliamentary chamber. While no doubt impolitic given strained relations between Georgia and Russia (which had recently been incrementally improving ties following their short war in 2008) the move was “standard practice,” according to a statement from the IAO.
Nevertheless, opposition forces, stung by growing opposition to their Pride provocation, used the Gavrilov incident as an excuse to launch a violent attack on the parliament on a scale that could only have been preplanned and awaiting activation. (It should be noted that, in keeping with the anti-Russian theme, Tbilisi Pride organizers tweeted their support for the parliament attack, doubtlessly expecting reciprocation for their cause.) Spearheaded by the United National Movement, the party of disgraced former president and Western favorite Mikheil Saakashvili (who is in self-imposed exile, fleeing from his conviction on corruption charges), the attack mimicked violent actions of “peaceful protesters” in Kiev five years ago with the end of provoking forceful police resistance and numerous injuries, which duly occurred. As of this writing the Georgian parliamentary Speaker was forced to resign and questions are being raised as to whether the ruling Georgian Dream reformist party can retain power – which surely was the point in the first place.
In short, in the context of two seemingly unrelated but in spirit closely linked events – the postponed Pride parade and the assault on the parliament – we may be seeing the beginning of a regime change operation like that in Ukraine in 2014 and in Georgia in 2003. Indeed, it was the latter that brought Saakashvili to power in the first place.
As things stand as of this writing, Georgia is simmering in a national crisis with deep political, social, moral, and spiritual consequences for the country’s future. Any small progress in improved relations with Russia has been scuttled. As Gavrilov notes on the Duma website:
‘“Our common opinion is that now in Georgia there is an obvious attempt of a coup d’état and the seizure of power by radical extremist forces, which are guided in many respects from abroad and, as we think, are associated with Mr. [Mikhail] Saakashvili,” said Sergei Gavrilov at a press conference.
‘“The meeting of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy was the ground for inciting anti-Russian hysteria and discrediting Georgia, as an Orthodox country, to strike at Georgian Orthodoxy and the Georgian Orthodox Church,” he added.
‘He also admitted that Western secret services could be involved in these events.’
As if to confirm Gavrilov’s suspicions of Western involvement, in a June 21 statement the US Embassy in Georgia placed full blame on the police (regarding the parliament) and “anti-American rhetoric from anti-LGBT groups” (regarding the Pride march):
‘Following the violent escalation of last night’s demonstrations in downtown Tbilisi, including use of tear gas and rubber bullets by police, additional protest activity is expected to occur tonight and possibly throughout the weekend. Public Pride Week events may also occur over the weekend at undisclosed locations in Tbilisi. Based on violent, anti-American rhetoric from anti-LGBT groups, the embassy has determined that there is increased risk that Americans could be targeted. U.S. government personnel have been directed not to participate in any demonstrations and to avoid any areas where a large crowd is gathering.’

What are the odds that he will heed it – or even be informed of it by his advisers? President Trump says his administration is moving forward with additional sanctions on Iran.
The news came Saturday outside the White House after the President said issues with Iran are not over oil supply but about making sure the country does not have nuclear weapons.
He added, the Iran Nuclear Deal was never authorized by congress and that he could have a deal with the Persian nation very quickly.
This comes as President Trump explains why he abruptly called off a military strike on Iran this week after their attack on a U.S. drone.
He said, he called off the air strike because he doesn’t want to kill anyone or anything, unless absolutely necessary.
Plus, he said ‘If Iran wants to be a wealthy nation again, become a prosperous nation, we’ll call it, ‘Let’s make Iran great again.’ Does that make sense? Make Iran great again. It’s okay with me. But they’re never going to do it if they think in five or six years, they’re going to have a nuclear weapon’ the President added, giving insight to his logic and strategy behind his actions to avoid war with Iran.

What I have seen says Jordan is good and that Haley is very good. Rick Perry was my first pick in 2016 but it looks like he has dropped out of politics.
Jordan is making a name for himself, but Haley needs to do things to keep her name recognition among the voters.
Right now Pence is the heir apparent but 2024 is a long way off and we will have to see who makes a name for himself between now and then.

Report: Pentagon Launches Retaliatory Digital Strike on Iran

The Pentagon’s Cyber Command reportedly launches a secret digital attack on an Iranian spy group.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the cyber attack occurred Thursday and targeted spies allegedly responsible for last week’s bombing of two oil tankers.
Reports say the group is linked to The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and allegedly responsible for attacking many more military and civilian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz on behalf of Iranian offciials.
The Iranian National Guard are believed to conduct the covert cyber attacks in order to maintain control over the Gulf.
U.S. Cyber Command has yet to comment on reports of the operation.

Any advice? Tips?
Lots. If you like learning new things I would get a really good PC laptop or desktop and put UNIX on it. Secure, fast as hell and will last. The new Macs since about 2016 suck pretty bad. Keyboards are awful so you have to use an external keyboard. not much monitor space so you need an external monitor. not very powerful so you need an eGPU to make it run as advertised, and it does, with a good eGPU, and of course they charge a fortune for SSD so you get the small one and lots of external HD and then you look at it and ask what exactly the Mac actually does.
For the same money you can get a KILLER machine, even with a server chip in it, I forget what its called at the moment but the new Mac Pro’s (not lap tops) FINALLY have them, Xenon I think, and put Linux and for the next 10 years you will be ahead of the curve.
There may be some learning curves ahead but the GUIs are good now and I hear there is free ware for anything ou are likely to need.
I have jad the keyboard in my MBP replaced 3 times and the machine itself replaced once. All they care about at apple now is making them thinner. Its a bad joke.
All the tech sites warn away from them for the past year or three.

I use microsoft machines so I don’t know anything about the new MACs.
Every pro I talk to and my own experience from the Macintosh days forward all tell me that Apple has totally gone astray.
Due to tight-knit hardware–software verticality and heavily integrated code architecture their machines will always run like greased lightning. That said, everyone I talk to says that Apple has completely lost the intuitive edge that made their GUI (Graphic User Interface) so revolutionary to begin with.
This I can attest to personally in that one could sit down at a mid-1980s Macintosh and INSTANTLY begin word processing. Recent output from Apple has been the most obstreperous bunch of bullshit I’ve see come out of Silicon Valley in a long time. Factor in the price being paid for name recognition alone and PC-style computers are a bargain, especially when they require replacing every few years anyways.
It isn’t just the inverted functions that differentiate them from MS Office, it’s the insanely arbitrary “being different for being different’s sake” bullshit that’s unbearable. It’s the same plug IN-compatibility that IBM used to monopolize mainframe computing and it was that same exclusiveness which eventually killed them when Apple built a computer with off-the-shelf components.
As always, the code was everything and Wozniak’s seamless system integration beat ass on everything in town for donkey’s ears. Read, “Jobs” or “The Innovators” by Walter Isaacson to gain a better understanding of how some nerdy computer geeks changed the world. AND NOT IBM.

As reported previously, he travels 40 minutes by gas-guzzling motorcade to work out at a YMCA in Brooklyn despite the presence of numerous health clubs near Gracie Mansion, not to mention that one of his key initiatives as a politician is to curb carbon emissions.
His distance problem is evident as well in his pick to head the city’s scandal-plagued public housing authority. The New York Post notes that “Gregory Russ, the head of Minneapolis’ tiny public housing agency … plans to travel back to Minnesota every weekend, according to city officials.” Was de Blasio unable to hire someone who lived closer than 1,200 miles away or was at least willing to relocate to the Big Apple to carry out his new job?
It’s not just distance that’s a problem. It’s also Russ’s salary: At $402,628, he will become the highest paid city official — earning more than hizzoner or even Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Archivists who bought a stash of CDs at a house clearance sale found 2,400 photos of Ground Zero in New York taken following the Muslim attacks in 2001.
They appear to have been taken by an as yet unidentified construction worker who helped to clear up the wreckage of the World Trade Center towers and surrounding area.
The CDs were in poor condition but the data was ultimately retrievable.
The archivists have uploaded the photos to Flickr.
The digital albums include images of Ground Zero itself taken both at ground level and from above, construction staff at work and the damaged interiors of the blocks surrounding the towers.
Nearly 3,000 people died when four hijacked airliners were crashed into the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania.
“Generally these items are neglected at sales. It’s very likely these would be in a dumpster by now had we not gone,” said Dr Johnathan Burgess, whose partner discovered the photos at the sale. Dr Burgess then archived the images and released them through fellow archivist Jason Scott.
“It’s a miracle the discs transferred so well, CD Roms of that age are pretty spotty.”
He used a CD recovery service to retrieve some of the images.
Dr Burgess said he and Mr Scott had so far been unsuccessful in tracking down the photographer or any relatives.
Many of those who worked in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks went on to suffer illness, with about 400,000 people believed to have been exposed to toxic contaminants, or suffered injury or trauma on the day itself according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

1 The FBI released disconcerting photos of the bombs planted in South Carolina by ISIS-supporter Wesley Dallas Ayers, 27, one of which was disguised as a teddy bear designed to attract children.
The bomb was left on the side of a road in a wicker basket and in a place frequented by children. The eyes of the bear glowed for maximum attraction. One man was burned by the bomb while driving past it with his daughter.
Ayers was sentenced in February 2019 to 30 years in prison after placing three real bombs and three fake ones in Anderson County.
Ayers had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State. On one of the bombs, he attached a note in Arabic saying the worst was yet to come and referring to Osama bin Laden.

“In the media, the municipality goes out and says that everything is good, even though it is not. Then they send this kind of mail to their employees,” the unidentified municipal worker said.
Among the tips for the workers are, “Plan your itinerary — know your area. Alternative routes, entrances, exits,” along with telling workers to be more observant when leaving areas like stairwells.
“Keep away from people who are considered potentially threatening or dangerous and increase the distance if there are no other people nearby,” it suggests.
Åsa Ollerstam Lundh, one of those who sent out the memo, said that the directives had existed since last year when the city saw a spate of shootings, including a mass shooting that saw three killed in June of 2018.
“Now there were again, after a quiet start of the year, shootings and explosions within just a few days. So then we decided to send out the list again,” Lundh said.
Earlier this month Malmö saw three explosions within a 24-hour period, with two targeting residential homes in the no-go suburb of Rosengard and another near a nightclub in the centre of the city.
Only days earlier, police shot a man outside of the central railway station after he began to act erratically, claiming that he threatened to bomb the area.
Police stations in the city have also seen an increase in security following the recent violent incidents with police announcing that they would be increasing the number of patrolling officers.”

“Islamist nations … long have sought a determination from the United Nations that any criticism of Islam or Muslims is ‘Islamophobia’ and banned globally,’” WND reported, noting that with 57 members, the OIC represents the largest voting bloc in the U.N. “But each time it has come up for a vote, more realistic arguments prevailed and the campaign never was legitimized.”
Pakistan putting on the pressure
After U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres unveiled the new “U.N. Strategy and Plan of Action” to fight so-called “hate speech” at a special meeting in the packed Economic and Social (ECOSOC) chamber, Pakistan Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi incited more support to silence any opposition to Islam and its adherents – including speech condemning Islam for its scriptural inciting of terrorists to conduct jihad (holy war) on “infidels.”
“An inevitable consequence is to fan the flames of bigotry, intolerance, anti-Muslim hatred and xenophobia,” Lodhi proclaimed before ambassadors, senior diplomats and high-ranking U.N. officials, as quoted in a press release, according to MSN. “My Prime Minister Imran Khan has recently again called for urgent action to counter Islamophobia, which is today the most prevalent expression of racism and hatred against ‘the other.'”
Guterres said the overarching goal of the U.N. plan is to identify, prevent and confront what the U.N. and Islamic nations consider “hate speech.”
“It targets the root causes of hate speech, pointing out that these include tackling violence, marginalization, discrimination, and poverty, as well as bolstering weak state institutions,” the top U.N. official said, according to MSN.
The secretary-general stressed that in addition, the new strategy will push for a coordinated response that targets and identifies users of “hate speech.” Guterres said a second objective of the plan is to react to “the impact of hate speech on societies,” so that individuals and groups with opposing views come together – utilizing traditional and social media platforms – to develop communications guidance.
Lodhi ramped up her rhetoric to eradicate all opposition to Islam – not to mention criticism it incurs for the violence and carnage resulting from its call for jihad on “infidels” not submitting to the god of Islam, Allah.
“We are fully committed to support the U.N.’s strategy on hate speech,” the Pakistani ambassador added. “This is a moment for all of us to come together to reverse the tide of hate and bigotry that threatens to undermine social solidarity and peaceful co-existence.”
The vocal Muslim official wanted to make it clear that absolutely no negative opinions of Islam are to be tolerated.
“The Pakistani envoy expressed the hope that the strategy and action plan would address the complex question of how to respond to intolerant, inflammatory and prejudiced narratives that were stoking racial and religious fears, and consequent hostility, saying that follow up will be critical,” MSN noted in its report. “In this regard, Ambassador Lodhi called for government interventions to fight hate speech, including national legislation, emphasized that social media platforms should not become conduits for incitement to violence and evolving ways to ensure that information technology companies were held accountable for the content that incited violence and weaponized individuals.”
She demanded framing consisting of a more aggressive strategy geared to extinguish multiple expressions of “Islamophobia.”
“[Lodhi impressed that] a ‘whole of government’ and a ‘whole of society’ approach was needed,” MSN recounted. “In this regard, the Pakistani envoy urged the secretary-general to engage with a wide range of actors – including governments, civil society and social media companies to take action and stop social media users being funneled into online sources of radicalization.”
Death to the infidel …
The mere fact that Lodhi is ambassador for a country whose leader wants to kill anyone suspected of even hinting any disrespect toward the founder of Islam is cause for concern to most around the globe.
“Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has been a staunch defender of his country’s blasphemy laws,” the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) reported. “Last year, he defended laws mandating death for those who offend the Prophet Muhammad by ‘imputation, insinuation or innuendo.’”
Earlier this month, Khan implored OIC nations to play active roles in safeguarding Muslims’ religious sentiments worldwide.
“It was up to us to explain to the western people the amount of pain they cause us when they ridicule or mock our Holy Prophet,” Khan declared at OIC’s 14th Islamic Summit in Mecca, Saudi Arabia – Islam’s holy city – according to Gulf News Asia. “I would like to say from this platform that in the forums like the United Nations and the forums like the European Union, we must explain to them that they cannot hurt the sentiments of 1.3 billion people under the garb of freedom of expression.”
With President Donald Trump severing many ties with the U.N. due to its anti-Semitic policies, America has taken the position that it is not game for the so-called “global peacekeeper’s” call to action to smother all opposition to a religion that has spread terrorism and oppression around the globe.
“The U.S. has rejected speech censorship plans as a resolution to worries about ‘hate speech,’ citing the U.S. Constitution’s protections for free speech,” WND informed. “The U.N., however, has in its plan the idea of engaging ‘private sector actors, including social media companies,’ to do its bidding on censorship.”
One of America’s – and the world’s – largest social media platforms is determined to let Islam have its way in the world via its popular mobile form of communication.
“Thus far, Twitter has shown a willingness to voluntarily enforce Pakistan’s Islamic blasphemy rules – even if the U.S. government doesn’t abide by any potential hate speech treaty that could stem from the planned conference,” IPT’s John Rossomando reported. “This raises the possibility that it and other social media companies might voluntarily follow suggestions from U.N. bureaucrats to the detriment of free speech.”

“Saudi Arabian city of Abha has become a target for a drone attack for the second time this month, Al Masirah TV reported citing a military source.
Yemen’s Houthis have claimed that they had carried out a drone attack on Abha and Jizan airports in Saudi Arabia, according to the Al Masirah TV broadcaster.
There is no confirmation about the attack from the Kingdom yet, local media reported.
In the past two weeks, the Houthi group have attacked Abha and Jizan several times.
The Houthis reportedly shot down on 22 June a Saudi-led coalition’s reconnaissance aircraft in the skies over Yemen not far from the border with Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Al Arabiya reported that the Saudi-led coalition supporting the Yemeni government said it had struck targets, including booby-trapped boats, belonging to the Yemeni rebel Houthi movement in the vicinity of Al Hudaydah port in the wake of the attack by the rebels at a utility plant in Saudi Arabia.
The coalition, supporting the Yemeni government, and the Houthis have been exchanging attacks amid conflict in Yemen.
The Saudi-led coalition has been conducting a military operation in Yemen since March 2015, when it started to carry out airstrikes against the Houthi armed rebels at the request of Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.”

“Regarding France in 2019, it can no longer be denied that a momentous and hazardous transformation, a ‘Great Switch’, is in the making”, observed the founder and president of the Jean-Jacques Rousseau Institute, Michel Gurfinkiel. He was mourning “the passing of France as a distinct country, or at least as the Western, Judeo-Christian nation it had hitherto been presumed to be”. A recent cover story in the weekly Le Point called it “the great upheaval”.
Switch or upheaval, the days of France as we knew it are numbered: the society has lost its cultural center of gravity: the old way of life is fading and close to “extinction”. “Frenchness” is disappearing and being replaced by a kind balkanization of enclaves not communicating with one another. For the country most affected by Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism, this is not a good recipe.
The French switch is also becoming geographical. France now appears split between “ghettos for the rich” and “ghettos for the poor”, according to an analysis of the electoral map by France’s largest newspaper, Le Monde. “In the poorest sector, 6 out of 10 newly settled households have a person born abroad”, notes Le Monde. A kind of abyss now separates peripheral France — small towns, suburbs and rural areas – from the globalized metropolis of the “bourgeois Bohemians”, or “bobos”. The more the French élites with their disposable incomes and cultural leisure cloister themselves in their enclaves, the less likely it is that they will understand the everyday impact of failed mass immigration and multiculturalism.

The Death of Iran’s Japanese Dream

In a recent column, I talked about Japan’s “Iranian dream,” the latest sequence of which consisted of Shinzo Abe’s visit to Tehran to persuade the mullahs to stop acting as a lone wolf and rejoin the international community. Abe had hoped that defusing the “Iran time bomb” would heighten Japan’s international profile commensurate with its status as the world’s second-biggest economic power. That sequence of the dream, as we now know, ended with the Japanese Prime Minister being harangued by the Ayatollah and sent packing.
Abe represented the third generation in his political family to visit Iran in search of an international role. His father Shintaro Abe had called on Iran’s ruling mullahs in the 1980s in a forlorn bid to end the Iran-Iraq war, thus promoting Japan’s image as a global peacemaker. Before him, Shinzo’s maternal grandfather Nobushuke Kishi, Japan’s postwar statesman and prime minister, had visited Tehran in 1968 at the head of a 100-man delegation of business leaders, at a time that no other country in Asia would welcome the Japanese because of bad memories from Second World War. Then, Japan’s aim had been to reinsert itself into the broader family of Asian nations and reassert independence from the United States.
All three sequences in Japan’s Iranian dream ended in failure, albeit for different reasons.
But, what about Iran’s Japanese dream?
Yes, that dream also existed.
“That sequence of the dream, as we now know, ended with the Japanese Prime Minister being harangued by the Ayatollah and sent packing.”
What a humongous favor the Supreme Leader did for Abe. Who better than Assaholla Khamenei to persuade Japan that all Islamic immigration is cultural sepuku?
That action also provides a little more incentive for the Japanese to rebuild their military to become a full partner with the US in protecting the Far East.
The Hong Kong Demonstrations
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Though it has been a part of China since 1997 following the transfer of power from Great Britain, Hong Kong enjoys autonomy, a separate judiciary, an independent political system (except for foreign affairs, which are managed by the central government in Beijing), and a free media. The extradition bill recently proposed by Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam would have severely compromised the separation between the two entities. The bill was vigorously protested by the people of Hong Kong in demonstrations of extraordinary magnitude. The vote was postponed to June 20 and then suspended indefinitely.
Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam’s recently proposed extradition bill was intended to enable local authorities to arrest and extradite criminal suspects to China. According to the law, there are 37 types of offenses for which defendants could be extradited to China to face trial. The bill prompted a furious public response over recent days that resulted in its being indefinitely tabled.
The estimated number of demonstrators ranged from a police estimate of 240,000 to one million, the figure provided by the organizers.
The law raises concerns among citizens and in the business community both at home and abroad. Residents fear that it would greatly expand China’s control over Hong Kong, which could result in a curtailment of human rights and freedom of speech while diminishing the differences between the two entities. The business community, which uses Hong Kong as a base from which to work with Chinese entities while remaining in friendlier and more secure territory, fears the economy-related offenses listed in the law as well as the door it would open to the Chinese law enforcement system to operate within Hong Kong – a legal system with motives that have long been suspect.

Thousands of Iranian-Americans took to the streets of Washington, DC, on Friday to march and voice their support for those seeking regime change in Iran, an issue that past presidential administrations have seemed to avoid.
The bi-partisan Free Iran Rally, which began at the U.S. State Department and concluded outside of the White House, was run by the Organization of Iranian American Communities – USA and featured many prominent political voices.
Prominent speakers at the event included retired four-star general and former Vice Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army General Jack Keane, former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, former Sen. Robert Torricelli, California Republican Congressman Tom McClintock, and Democrat California Congressman Brad Sherman.
The rally attendees were also addressed by a pre-recorded message from Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance to Iran.

Rep. Jordan: House Democrats holding ‘impeachment hearings’ even though they won’t call it that
Rep. Jim Jordan said Thursday he expects House Democrats to continue issuing subpoenas and holding “impeachment hearings” even though Special Counsel Robert Mueller found “nothing” in his 22-month probe.
Jordan, R-Ohio, spoke to “Fox & Friends” before the House Judiciary Committee began a hearing Thursday morning to review Mueller’s report with witnesses from think tanks and the legal community.

President Trump sat down for an interview with MSNBC host Chuck Todd and told him his biggest regrets of his first term as US president.
The President told Chuck Todd that if he could have one do-over it would be personnel.
“I would say if I had one do-over, it would be, I would not have appointed Jeff Sessions to be attorney general.”
“That’s your, in your mind, that’s your worst mistake?” Chuck Todd asked.
“Yeah, that was the biggest mistake.” Trump replied.

Trump is correct.
His appointment of Jeff Sessions proved to be a disaster for his first two years because the Justice Department got hijacked by Deep State criminals.
After recusing himself like a coward and allowing Rosenstein and Mueller to hijack the Justice Department for two years – which ended in a bloodbath of Trump associates, former Attorney General Jeff Sessions had the gall to say in April it’s time to move past the Mueller probe.
Thankfully Trump fired Jeff Sessions in November and brought on Bill Barr to be his new Attorney General. Barr took control of Mueller’s witch hunt and immediately shut it down.
Sessions cited the wrong law when he recused himself from the Russia investigation and all things Hillary Clinton the first day on the job.
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein became the de facto Attorney General and quickly appointed Special Counsel Robert Mueller and gave him permission (with THREE scope memos) to rove around unchecked in a massive, $35 million witch hunt.
Mueller, Rosenstein, Weissmann and over a dozen angry, crooked Democrat donors on the special counsel’s team ruined many lives and reputations over the past two years with perjury traps and damaging leaks to the media.
General Mike Flynn, George Papadopoulos, Paul Manafort, Roger Stone and Carter Page were targeted for ruin — Manafort ended up in solitary confinement and sentenced to over 10 years in prison.
Flynn, a three-star General, was forced to sell a home after being buried in legal fees thanks to Mueller’s corrupt witch hunt.

Erdogan’s party loses controversial mayoral re-run in Istanbul
In a blow to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, an opposition candidate declared victory in the Istanbul mayor’s race for a second time Sunday after the government-backed candidate conceded defeat in a high-stakes repeat election.
Thank you, Istanbul,” former businessman Ekrem Imamoglu, 49, said to jubilant supporters after unofficial results showed he won a clear majority of the vote.
His opponent, former Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, conceded moments after early returns showed him trailing well behind Imamoglu, 54% to 45%.
The outcome means Turkey’s largest city won’t be governed by Erdogan’s party or its predecessor for the first time in 25 years.
Hundreds of opposition supporters erupted in mass celebration outside the headquarters of the Republican People’s Party, which backed Imamoglu, chanting “Mayor Again! Mayor Again!”
Imamoglu had narrowly won a previous mayoral election on March 31, but Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party challenged the vote. Turkey’s electoral board annulled the results after he had served 18 days in office and weeks of partial recounts.
“You have protected the reputation of democracy in Turkey with the whole world watching,” Imamoglu, his voice hoarse after weeks of campaigning, told supporters.
Erdogan campaigned for Yildirim in Istanbul, where the president started his political career as mayor in the mid-1990s.
Erdogan’s party, AKP, also lost control of the capital city of Ankara in Turkey’s March local elections, which were held after the country slid into recession.
The voided vote in Istanbul had raised concerns domestically and abroad about the state of Turkish democracy and whether Erdogan’s party, which has been in control of the Turkish government since 2002, would accept any electoral loss.
Istanbul, a city of 15 million, draws millions of tourists each year and is Turkey’s commercial and cultural hub. Straddling Europe and Asia, Istanbul accounted for 31% of Turkey’s GDP in 2017.
