Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.
This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.
So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.
This is the new Samizdat. We muse use it while we can.

Police stoned as Frankfurt flashmob descends into chaos (thelocal, Mar 24, 2019)
https://www.thelocal.de/20190324/police-stoned-as-frankfurt-flashmob-descends-into-chaos
“A flashmob gathering in central Frankfurt descended into chaos with teenagers hurling stones at police officers, German authorities said Sunday.
A group of 600 youths had gathered on Saturday evening at the popular shopping street Zeil which they began running through “without any consideration for pedestrians”, police said in a statement.
Police therefore issued the flashmob organiser with a dispersal notice, but an officer was then suddenly punched in the face by a 17-year-old youth.
As officers detained the teen, some among the crowd began throwing stones at police.
Three officers were hit, with one suffering light injuries. The other two were unscathed.
The gathering was finally cleared two hours after it began.
Investigations were now ongoing on the background of the flashmob, police said.
Authorities were also examining if organisers could be liable to take on the costs of the ensuing police operation.
The flashmob chaos in Frankfurt came just days after a mass brawl in central Berlin between followers of two social media stars.
Nine arrests were made as a fight broke out on the Alexanderplatz late Thursday among 400 backers of two rival YouTubers.
Police said it took around 100 officers, two of whom were injured, to break up the melee.”

Fifteen Tory councillors suspended for posting Islamophobic or racist content online are quietly let back into the party (dailymail, Mar 25, 2019)
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6845959/Fifteen-Tory-councillors-suspended-posting-Islamophobic-racist-content-online-let-in.html
“Fifteen Tory councillors suspended for posting Islamophobic or racist content online have been quietly reinstated into the party.
They have been let back in despite some of them describing Saudis as ‘sand peasants’ and sharing material comparing Asian people to dogs.
James Cleverly, the deputy Tory chairman, has said he disagrees ‘deeply’ with claims from within the party that it is institutionally Islamophobic.
New cases uncovered in the past week include Tory members referring to Muslims as ‘cavemen’ and claiming ‘most’ of the religion’s followers are sex offenders.
It emerged yesterday that 15 councillors from across the country were reinstated despite their apparently Islamophobic or racist remarks.
A Conservative spokesman said: ‘Discrimination or abuse of any kind is wrong. When CCHQ has been made aware of the small number of such cases we have acted swiftly, suspending members and launching immediate investigations, in sharp contrast to other parties.
‘Our complaints process is rightly a confidential one but there are a wide range of sanctions to challenge and change behaviour, including conditions to undertake training, a period of suspension and expulsion, and these are applied on a case-by- case basis.’”

“A CHILD was shot and three others were injured in a devastating London shooting.
Police have confirmed that an 11-year-old was among a group of youngsters attacked in Mitcham, southwest London on Sunday evening. The attack happened at around 5.40pm, according to the Daily Star. All victims are said to have been rushed immediately to hospital.
Officers say a group of men were in the street when the shots were fired.
The incident happened in the Figges Marsh area.
Reports suggest the Metropolitan Police used a Section 60 Stop and Search power to ensure there are no further serious crimes committed.
The crackdown will be in place until around 6.55am in the Merton area.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman told the Daily Star: “A woman and an 11-year-old child were treated by the London Ambulance Service for injuries believed to have been caused by a firearm.
“They have been taken to hospital.
“A large group of males had been seen in the road prior to the firearm being discharged and inquiries are ongoing to locate these individuals.
“It is believed that two further people – who subsequently self-presented at a nearby hospital – were injured during the incident.
“None of those injured is in a life-threatening condition. There have been no arrests at this stage.”
Police remain on the scene at present.
A cordon is said to be in place while detectives assess the scene.
People on Twitter expressed their shock at the incident.
One tweeted: “Couple of youths were firing gunshot bb pellets, couple of people got shot. My brother and mum were there. My brother is shaken up.””
Asylum Seeker’s Sexual Assault on ‘Vulnerable’ Male Blamed on Newcastle’s ‘Immorality’ (breibart, Mar 24, 2019)
https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/03/24/migrants-sexual-assault-vulnerable-male-blamed-uk-immorality/
“An asylum seeker who illegally entered Britain on the back of a lorry had his decision to sexually assault a “vulnerable” male in his adopted city of Newcastle blamed on the city’s “immorality”.
Zain Osman, originally a shepherd from Sudan, east Africa, subjected his victim to a 20-minute ordeal in which he was bitten and sent tumbling into a roadside ditch, ChronicleLive reports.
“[The victim] fell into a ditch outside a cash and carry,” related prosecutor Robin Turton.
“He tried to walk away but felt a bite from behind. He screamed and told [Osman] he was going home.”
Thankfully, the victim — described as having “difficulties” which would classify him as vulnerable — was rescued by the intervention of a passing taxi driver, although not before he had suffered a number of injuries.
CCTV footage of the attack demonstrated “the sustained and persistent nature of the defendant’s conduct towards him, despite the victim’s concerted efforts to fend him off and escape,” according to the prosecutor, who confirmed that Osman was “an asylum seeker from Sudan who entered the UK in a lorry with no passport so we can’t say if he had any convictions outside this country.”.
The defence Osman offered, through lawyer Jamie Adams, was that he “had never experienced the kind of immorality he experienced in coming and was evident in this particular area of Newcastle.”
The lawyer added that Osman “came from Sudan, where homosexuality is still a capital offence, although it’s not always enforced. Alcohol is also a pretty serious offence for a Muslim in Sudan,” as if this diminished his responsibility for his crime.
“[Osman] lacked the kind of life experiences we know about in our more civilised community,” Adams added.
Sentencing judge Jeremy Freedman appeared to accept this, at least in part, telling Osman: “I accept you are now very sorry for what you did and you are a naive uneducated gentleman. Nevertheless, you knew what you were doing was wrong and you must be punished.”
The migrant received a light 15-month sentence, and is likely to be entitled to automatic release on licence halfway through it, like the vast majority of criminals.”

Palestinian Cleric at Al-Aqsa Mosque: France Will Become an Islamic Country Through Jihad
Palestinian cleric Abu Taqi Al-Din Al-Dari said in an Al-Aqsa Mosque address that was uploaded to the Internet on March 12, 2019 that young people in Germany and France do not value marriage as much as Muslims do, but that this is not the reason that France will become an Islamic country.
Rather, he explained, France will become an Islamic country through Jihad, since Muslims must have a country that will bring Islam’s guidance and message to the West.
He gave examples of times in history when countries in the West and Asia were ruled by the Ottoman Empire, which he described as an Islamic state, and he said that the Islamic nation is capable of “returning to its former self” and spreading Islam.
Sheik Taqi Al-Din added that the entire world will be subject to the rule of Islam in one of three ways: People will either convert to Islam, be forced to pay the jizya poll tax, or be fought against for the sake of Allah.
Tech tyrants at Google do their best to obscure no indictments of Mueller Report
If the internet search monopolists at Google are trying to build a case that they are a dangerous threat to democracy in need of antitrust remediation, they are doing a good job of it. We already know that Google is run by leftists for leftists, and fired software engineer James Damore for political reasons – because he dared question PC orthodoxy. But there is an accumulating body of evidence that Google attempts to manage the public’s access to information so as to bias it in favor of Google’s friends and against those Google decides are its enemies.
Paul Crookston of The Free Beacon spotted the rascals quietly doing their mischief by doing a simple auto-fill test, seeing what Google would suggest as a customer typed in a subject.
Using Google search on multiple browsers and on private-browsing mode, the Free Beacon found Google search had an aversion to the search term “indictment.”
Using either “Trump” or “Mueller” as the subject, the following word “indictment” was not suggested even after spelling out most of it. For example, putting “Trump indi” into Google’s search bar does not lead to “Trump indictment” but rather to “Trump India,” “Trump India Pakistan,” Trump India tariffs,” and “Trump Indiana.”
Read the whole thing to see other amusing takes on Google’s squeamishness about leading users to the real story. But this one, to me, takes the cake:

I think the word “suppression” is appropriate.

Google Downplays Searches for News of No New Indictments in Mueller Probe
Google search is hiding auto-completed text related to the Robert Mueller special counsel investigation, according to a Washington Free Beacon analysis.
Mueller’s investigation has finished with no further indictments, the culmination of a story that has dominated the news for the better part of two years. But the most popular search engine is avoiding the topic.
This problem did not occur with Google’s search engine competitors, Yahoo and Bing. Those search engines suggested news about the indictments when you typed in the related words.
“As a professional data scientist with at least some expertise relating to searches and profiling, I can say with near certainty that Google should have pushed me news stories relating to this and yet I had to search on my own to find the actual results of the report,” a tech industry source told the Free Beacon.
As users spell out “indictments,” Google offered highly unusual search options besides “indictments.” One top suggestion was “Trump indicator,” which leads to pocket-sized playing dice for pinocle or bridge.
Good news for Trump doesn’t make Google’s news suggestions
Searching specifically for “Trump indictment,” the Free Beacon found Google preferred the result “Trump indictment advent calendar,” which leads to a humorous story in which indictments of Trump family members are seen as gifts around Christmastime. (The Free Beacon had not previously searched for such a calendar and it was not on our search history.)
Google was previously accused of pushing positive stories about Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai has denied this kind of bias occurs in its search results, saying so repeatedly in a congressional hearing last year. Democrats, however, seemed to undermine Pichai’s message by arguing in that hearing that Google is free to suppress conservatives in its search results if it so desires. Pichai said such suppression of different views would violate the company’s “core principles,” although an executive was caught emailing about making sure Google services helped Hillary Clinton in 2016.
The company’s fidelity to principles of free expression has also come under scrutiny as it has continued to work with Xi Jinping’s autocratic regime in China. Because of severe free speech restrictions in that country, Google had been developing a special search engine “Dragonfly” that would block topics disapproved by the regime, including history about China and the Communist Party. Dragonfly was put on hold after it spawned an outcry against Google, but employees have expressed concern that it’s being developed in secret.
Domestically, the Silicon Valley giant is also dealing with pressure to have its products more strictly regulated. Democratic presidential candidate and Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren (D.) has called for breaking up major tech companies on anti-trust grounds.
