Estonia: Man shouts ‘Heil Hitler’ at Estonian chief rabbi and children on the way to synagogue

(JTA) — Estonia’s chief rabbi and two of his children were accosted on the street on their way to synagogue by a man who shouted anti-Semitic insults at them.

Police arrested the man, who is 27 years old and was not named in Estonian media, on Sunday at a shopping mall in the capital Tallinn, the Estonian Public Broadcasting Service reported on Monday.

Rabbi Shmuel Kot said the man shouted “Sieg Heil” and “Heil Hitler” at him on Saturday while Kot was walking to synagogue with two of his children ages 7 and 12. Kot filed a complaint with police, who used security camera and other footage to identity a suspect and arrest him ahead of an indictment, Kot said. He added that such incidents are “very rare” in Estonia, the northernmost Baltic state, located just south of Finland, on the other end of the Gulf of Finland.

The Chief Rabbi in The Netherlands decided to speak at a rally/vigil for the victims of the lone wolf, militant attack on two mosques in New Zealand which took place on the 15th of March.

And here is how he was treated by all the Palestinian flag waving muslims:

Protesters with Palestinian flags turn backs on Dutch rabbi’s Christchurch eulogy

AMSTERDAM (JTA) — Demonstrators carrying Palestinian flags turned their backs on a Dutch chief rabbi during his eulogy at a vigil for Muslims killed in New Zealand.

The incident Sunday happened as Rabbi Binyomin Jacobs was discussing the meaning of a minute of silence at the gathering at the Dam Square World War II memorial monument. Thousands of people, many of them Muslims, gathered at the square to commemorate the 49 people slain Friday by a far-right killer at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Some protesters had posters calling for a boycott of Israel.

When Jacobs, the chief rabbi of the Inter-Provincial Chief Rabbinate of the Netherlands, got up to speak, several participants carrying Palestinian flags demonstratively turned their backs on the rabbi in what many Dutch Jews on Twitter called a display of anti-Semitism.

So how’s that old multiculturalism working out for us all now ay?

  1. Where were the thousands of people when thousands of Christians and Pagans were killed?

Excellent. Strut around like proud Antisemites in front of people whose ancestors died shielding Jews from Nazis. Put all the media spin on it that you want. There always be those who see through such tissues of hør$ê$hït.

If repeating the horrors of last century is all that Muslims have to offer, then they deserve to be treated like the Nazis that they are.

  3. Similar handling/reporting of antisemitism in Kingston, NY health food store. Note the report identifies the victim but not the anti-semite which the store management was protecting by not firing immediately and by removing the victim (not the perp) as well as instructing the victim not speak of the incident.

    FTA:

TOWN OF ULSTER, N.Y. — Health food retailer Mother Earth’s Storehouse says it has fired an employee from its store at Kings Mall for alleged anti-Semitic comments and actions toward a co-worker.

The incident drew public attention after Jackie Winder Shabanowitz of Kerhonkson posted on Facebook on Friday, March 15, that her daughter, Sarah, was working in the produce department of the store on Monday, March 11, when “a coworker turned the light off in the produce cooler and told her ‘you’re in the gas chamber’ then called her ‘a f—ing Jew.'”

“Sarah went to management, they told her not speak about [it], removed her from produce, which she has been [in] for a year, and put her on the register,” Shabanowitz wrote. “The coworker was forced to apologize but still has his job in produce. On Wednesday, the coworker harassed her again … which she reported to management.

Mother Earth’s Storehouse owner Kevin Schneider said Monday that the accused employee, a male, was fired over the phone on Saturday. He did not provide the person’s name.

Schneider said Sarah has quit her job since the alleged incidents.

Shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday, Mother Earth’s posted on its Facebook page: “The Management of our Kingston store would like to apologize to our community for the upset that has occurred. The situation has been handled and the employee is no longer employed by us. We have never, nor will we ever tolerate hate.”
