Personally I am grateful for this. This is a wonderfully overt display of real thought, intentions and ambitions. This celebration is of the reconquest of Granada from brutal totalitarian and supremacist Islamic rule, and ANTIFA is there to protest the reconquest and thereby support Islamic rule of Spain.
Thank you ANTIFA its great to see something honest now and again from Leftists.
The Granada War (Spanish: Guerra de Granada) was a series of military campaigns between 1482 and 1491, during the reign of the Catholic Monarchs (los Reyes Católicos) Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon, against the Nasrid dynasty‘s Emirate of Granada. It ended with the defeat of Granada and its annexation by Castile, ending all Islamic rule on the Iberian peninsula (al-Andalus).
The ten-year war was not a continuous effort but a series of seasonal campaigns launched in spring and broken off in winter. The Granadans were crippled by internal conflict and civil war, while the Christians were generally unified.
The Granadans were also bled economically by Castile, with the tribute (Spanish: paria) they had to pay to avoid being attacked and conquered. The war also saw the effective use of artillery by the Christians to rapidly conquer towns that would otherwise have required a long siege. On January 2, 1492, Muhammad XII of Granada (King Boabdil) surrendered the Emirate of Granada, the city of Granada, and the Alhambra palace to the Castilian forces.
(The article seems to avoid the word, “jizya” but I assume that is what they mean in paragraph 2, where it explains the muslims were bled dry but what properly stated, was likely the refusal of the Spanish to pay the jizya, or tribute fee, to the muslim rulers, as the muslims do not typically generate any wealth on their own.)
A short and incomplete explanation of the celebration. But with the Wiki above it all comes together.
Leftists normally aren’t this honest until after they gain total control and start throwing people into the
deathre-education camps.Franco was a good man. Today, the he left denounces him as a fascist, but in light of this video one must begin to understand what was at stake at the time. If the conservatives had not prevailed, Spain would have gone full communist.
How many more years will Spaniards be allowed to protest?
How many more months will anyone in Europe be allowed to protest? Look at what is happening in France, I am probably very wrong in thinking the explosion will take months instead of weeks or days.
A couple of year ago, BBC TV referred to the Spanish Reconquista as a ‘Christian invasion of Spain’. Well, the BBC would, wouldn’t they?
