“State prosecutors in Saudi Arabia are calling for the death penalty for Israa al-Ghomgham, a human rights activist from Qatif who was arrested in 2015. If executed, it will be the first time the country has carried out capital punishment on a woman.
Ghomgham was arrested in December 2015 for “anti-establishment activities,” the Al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper reported. She has been in detention for 32 months but was recently put before the specialized criminal court (SCC) in Riyadh. The European Saudi Organization for Human Rights (ESOHR) described the court, responsible for implementing the notorious 2017 counterrorism law, as being “under total control by the king, and therefore many of these trials are merely show trial and have pre-determined outcomes which serve the narrative of the state.”
Many news outlets have reported that Ghomgham has already been executed, but these reports appear to be premature.
“[T]he call of the public prosecution for a death sentence for the detainee is a dangerous indicator that the trial outcome will lead to a death penalty sentence being issued,” ESOHR said August 15, “because the Saudi mechanisms involved in the prosecution process are not independent and serve the needs of King Salman directly… Israa is being subjected to an unfair trial, which uses flawed laws and can be regarded as a ‘show trial.'”

SPAIN – Car mows down pedestrians in Spain, two people arrested
Two people are in police custody after a car ploughed into three pedestrians in Casetas, northwestern Spain. According to eyewitness accounts, the vehicle left the scene of the incident sparking panic.
The incident on Logrono Avenue in Spain’s Zaragoza province occured around 9.20am local time Monday when a vehicle mounted a pavement and hit people at a zebra crossing.
Three pedestrians, a 45-year-old man and a couple in their 60s, were injured in the incident, according to the local emergency services, which sent out a Twitter alert about the morning collision.
The victims have since been transported to the Miguel Servet Hospital where their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. The driver initially fled the scene, but he and a person who was a passenger in the car at the time of the crash were later arrested, reported Heraldo. While the duo have not yet been identified, the paper says that both the suspects are in their 20s.

The Israel Police issued an official response to the incident, claiming the account of the family is partial and does not reflect true nature of the events.
“This is an incomplete documentation of events showing only parts of a wider operational activity against the use of weapons. The party was held in a public area celebrating the release of a prisoner,” the statement stressted.
“When the police arrived in the area, gunfire was heard, forcing the police to immediately search the area and the vehicle. At a certain stage a riot erupted and included curses, threats and brandishing chairs at the police force,” it continued.
“The police arrested and detained two suspects involved in a violent confrontation that attempted to interfere with police procedures. The actions of the family are an attempt to deter the police from conducting similar operations in the communities of the sector,” concluded the statement.

An Iranian stabbed a German woman on the street on Monday morning. The victim died in a hospital shortly after the knife attack. The police are searching for the perpetrator, whom they now know is an immigrant from Iran. They have already searched the apartment, but have not found the man. A police spokeswoman said that the woman’s injuries were so severe that she died in a hospital just under two hours after the crime. The police did not want to reveal the age of the woman, but she was a young woman.

Two knife-wielding assailants tried to enter a police station in Chechnya’s Shalinsky district and assaulted and wounded two police officers, Russian investigators said. Both attackers were shot dead, TASS news agency reported.

Two minor girls have alleged that they were raped by 11 men at an isolated place in Jharkhand’s Lohardaga. All the accused have been arrested on the basis of a police complaint of the girls.
The accused, all aged between 18 and 28 years, allegedly raped the girls on August 16 while they were travelling with their neighbour, police said.
One of the girls called a friend of hers for help when the motorcycle they were travelling on broke down. Instead of sending help, the man allegedly sent his 11 friends to the location who beat up the accompanying neighbour and drove him away.
They then took the girls to an isolated place and allegedly took turns to rape them. Police said the men also took away the mobile phones of the girls which have been recovered from the house of one of the accused.

Police on Saturday arrested a man accused of assaulting a Toronto journalist as he covered an Antifa demonstration last weekend.

Muslim terrorists attacking the British Parliament in cars has become an annual tradition.
Khalid Masood did it last year, running over pedestrians before slamming into the railing of Westminster Palace, and then going on a brief stabbing spree that ended when he was shot dead by an armed police officer, who unlike the unarmed police officer he stabbed to death, had a gun because he was protecting a government official. 2017’s parliamentary attack ended with 5 dead and dozens injured.
This year, Salih Khater decided to have a go at parliament even though it was out for the summer recess. He smashed his car into a barrier near Westminster Palace after running over a number of pedestrians. The Sudanese refugee was much less successful at it, wounding only 3 people and killing no one.
Both Muslim terrorists not only carried out attacks against the same location, they had been living at addresses 10 minutes apart. Sater, 2018’s parliamentary terrorist, had been living above the Bunna internet café in South Birmingham. Masood, 2017’s parliamentary terrorist, had made his home over the Shiraz Persian restaurant, owned by a devout Muslim, also in Birmingham.
Muslims make up over 1 in 5 persons of the population of this former British working-class stronghold. Sparkhill, named after the gently flowing Spark Brook, once a hub of British life, has had its history erased by the migrant flood, until it was dubbed by BBC’s Citizen Khan sitcom as “the capital of British Pakistan.” The Mermaid Inn, a local landmark pub which dated back centuries, was turned into an ethnic restaurant. Various other historic pubs have declined into grimy Pakistani eateries.

During a trial, jurors heard a tape in which a suspect stated that he chopped up her body and cooked it into kebabs. The case was tossed out because of problems with the gathering of evidence. Charlene’s sister, Emma, was later tried for “racially aggravated assault.” Emma slapped the face of the murder suspect’s brother. Emma was convicted for her crime.
Lucy Lowe’s smile is not as explosive as Charlene’s. Her blonde brows are shallow crescents; her nose is a pretty little button. Lucy has that loving look that suggests that she will hit her stride as a kind, middle-aged matron. In fact, Lucy gave birth at 14. The child’s baby daddy, Azhar Ali Mehmood, pimped Lucy and other underage girls. By 16, Lucy was pregnant with their second child. Mehmood then murdered Lucy, her mother, and her sister by setting fire to the family home. Mehmood is now in jail. Even so, Lucy’s father received an anonymous threat warning him not to discuss grooming gangs.

Jeremy Scahill, writing months before the election of 2016 in The Intercept, is representative of this line of (un-)thinking. Scahill focuses specifically on Mike Pence, who would become the Vice President:
“Pence’s ascent to the second most powerful position in the U.S. government is a tremendous coup for the radical religious right. Pence—and his fellow Christian supremacist militants—would not have been able to win the White House on their own.”
Scahill continues, referring to Pence as one of the “most prized warriors” of “a cabal of vicious zealots” that has “long craved an extremist Christian theocracy [.]”
This patent nonsense is as laughable as it is dishonest. Leftists’ anti-Christian bigotry is worth raising here only because it gives the rest of us a sense of the gulf separating their fantasy world from the real one. More exactly, while leftists obsess over “Christian supremacy” in America whenever a confessing Christian is elected to office, a Chick-Filet opens in a new location, or a Christian baker refuses to bake a cake for a gay wedding, they remain utterly silent as Christians throughout the Third World suffer real oppression at the hands of non-Christians.
Western leftists don’t know a damn thing about oppression, religious or otherwise. Or, if they do, to judge from their sheer silence, they don’t act like it.

That was the social justice meme that swept through the culture as the #MeToo movement brought down a horde of famous men. The bigoted idea that certain groups (e.g. heterosexual white men) are inherently evil or privileged is a central creed of the racist, sexist and heterophobic church of the left).
Like so many of the left’s other beliefs, this was a reversion to pagan tribalism. Religious civilization taught us that all people are potentially “garbage” when they lack values and give in to their impulses.
No gender, race or identity politics group is inherently a victim. None is inherently a perpetrator. We are measured by our values.
And so the #MeToo scandal reached Asia Argento, one of Harvey Weinstein’s accusers.

White South African Farmers Flee After Government Leaders Suggest They’re About To Confiscate Land
A record number of farms are hitting the market in South Africa as white farmers try desperately to offload land and leave the country before the government confiscates their acreage.
According to a report in the Sunday Express, the African National Congress (ANC) — South Africa’s ruling party — suggested last week that it is considering confiscating farmland from white farmers without compensation. In a meeting on “reforming land ownership,” several civil servants claimed that its time to “expropriate” land from the country’s white farmers in reparations for Apartheid.

The trial begins for a Russian woman who has been charged for extremism after she reposted memes on social media deemed offensive to authorities.
Maira Motuznaya, 23, tweeted last week that police in the Siberian city of Barnaul searched her flat on May 8 and accused her of posting offensive images on Russian social network VKontakte (VK). She now faces six-year prison sentence.
After the hearing today, Motuznaya’s lawyer, Alexey Bushmakov, said a positive outcome would be slim.
“Honestly, I don’t hope for a ‘not guilty’ verdict. One has to be reasonable and not hope for a miracle,” Bushmakov said.
Motuznaya told Euronews today she’s fearful that her fate is sealed.
“I am scared more and more every day. I hope for a ‘not guilty’ verdict, but it’s rather a dream, not a hope,” she said.
“I will never know why they chose me. Maybe they really need to improve their statistics of uncovered cases and it’s just an accident. But maybe it’s linked to my political opinions. I was ardently in opposition on my social networks. When Alexey Navalny started his presidential campaign [in 2017], I was a volunteer. I participated in all the rallies, called for rallies on my social network pages,” she added.
“I reject current authorities even more, because I sincerely think that all of it is unfair. They are trying to break the disadvantaged groups, it provokes outrage.”

China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) – a term coined in 2013 by Chinese President Xi Jinping to evoke the ancient Silk Road trade routes connecting China with lands to its west – should be cause for great concern in the West. “A major new study suggests that England’s violent crime wave is even worse than headline figures suggest and that the country would have seen up to 1,656 more deaths to homicide and serious injury without advances in trauma care.
The independent report, compiled by the Trauma Audit and Research Network (TARN) at the University of Manchester and published in ClinicalMedicine by The Lancet, examined severe injury outcomes for 110,000 patients admitted to 35 hospitals between 2008 and 2017, and found that survival chances have increased by almost 20 percent.
“This study shows that changes to trauma care, designed by clinicians, are saving hundreds of lives every year,” commented Professor Chris Moran, NSE England’s National Clinical Director for Trauma Care.
“Major Trauma Centres deal with the victims of stabbings and acid attacks as well as car and motorbike accidents,” he added.
“We have all seen the terrible increase in knife crime in our cities, especially in London, and there is no doubt that the new trauma system has saved many lives as these patients receive blood transfusion and specialist surgery much quicker than before.”
While the increased survival odds for victims of violent attacks and accidents as a result of medical advances is welcome, the figures also suggest that the severity of Britain’s violent crime wave is, if anything, understated.
Figures released by the London Assembly Police and Crime Committee showing an astonishing 44 percent surge in the murder rate in Britain’s capital in the year to March 2018, for example, may have been even more dramatic were doctors and paramedics not so much better at bringing the severely injured people back from the brink of death than they were previously.
Ambulance crews and are clear that the situation is much worse than in previous years. For example, Dr Gareth Grier, lead clinician for the London Air Ambulance — which is now attending more stabbings and shootings than road traffic accidents for the first time in its 30-year history — has said it is now “not unusual now for our teams to perform open-chest surgery for stab wounds twice in a single day… This would have been unheard of a few years back.”
Hospital staff, similarly, describe a rapidly deteriorating situation — with Dr Martin Griffiths, a consultant surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust, saying London in 2018 is “looking more like South Africa” than Great Britain, and that “military colleagues have described their practice [in his hospital] as similar to being at [Camp] Bastion” in Afghanistan.”

West Springfield District – A 22-year-old man is facing five felony and four misdemeanor charges after being arrested at the Masjid Noor Mosque last night. Officers were called to the mosque, located at 8608 Pohick Road in Springfield, after Zulqarnain Khan was threatening to kill everyone he encountered and refusing to let people inside the mosque. He also rammed three parked cars with his own car, including one that was occupied, prompting calls to 911. No one was injured during the incident.

Warren, thanks to her war on Wall Street and her friendship with Bernie Sanders, is already seen as the likely Bernie 2.0 when 2020 rolls around, but she’s got fellow Democrats like Kamala Harris and Cory Booker (no slouches in the pandering department themselves) breathing down her neck. The Democratic presidential field will be a crowded one, and the game right now seems to be who can “out-lefty” the others.

Salam Obeid Abdullah said the police arrested his son, Daoud Salam Obeid, a labourer, on 22 March saying they were taking him in for questioning. Abdullah said two days later he was informed that his son had died of a heart attack during investigation, but when his family was released a month later it had bruises and wounds.
