Let’s all recall one of Yuri Bezmenov’s key points:

Confronted with the breadlines and gulags of genuine Communism, disillusioned Pseudo-Marxists (i.e., “Limousine Liberals” and BoHos) will be amongst the most aggressive in objecting to the precise conditions which they struggled so valiantly to impose upon everyone else around them.

And, as Bezmenov so articulately notes, these dissatisfied (i.e., cossetted) types will be, “squashed … like cockroaches” before they can set even a single dissident fox amongst the plump, complacent hens.

Last weekend in Schwarzenberg / Erzg. a dramatic attack. A 14-year-old was beaten by a “southerners” during the evening walk near her home and – luckily only lightly – injured with a knife.

The brave girl successfully defended herself and was able to escape the perpetrator and save herself in her home. Now the mother wants to go public with a description of what she and her daughter experienced (especially following the attack – Authorities reluctant to believe her story)

According to the Greek animal welfare webpage Zoosos, on 28th of March 2018 an outrageous denouncement was filed to the Perama police department in Athens, by the staff taking care of stray dogs living in the nearby refugee camp of Skaramagka.

The staff found a little female dog dead at the centre of the camp, covered with a blanket. The little dog had obvious signs of a brutal rape on her genitals, but no other external trauma.

    • France’s Macron urges Europeans to fight ‘leprosy’ of populism

PARIS (Reuters) – French President Emmanuel Macron said on Thursday populism was spreading across Europe like a disease that Europeans should fight more vigorously instead of criticizing the actions of pro-European governments like his.

The 40-year old leader has come under pressure at home for not accepting the Aquarius migrant ship that far-right Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini turned away from Italian ports, prompting a war of words between Paris and Rome.

On a visit to Britanny, a particularly pro-Europe region, Macron urged commentators to fight those who “hate Europe” rather than attacking him.

“You can see them rise a bit like a leprosis all across Europe, in countries where we thought that would be impossible to see them again, in neighboring countries,” Macron said.

“They’re saying the worst things, and we’re getting used to it. They’re making provocations, and nobody is horrified by that,” he added.

The row between Paris and Rome over the fate of the Aquarius, a ship with more than 600 migrants aboard, including women and children, drew in Pope Francis and sewed division across Europe, straining German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s fragile coalition.

“We accuse Europeans to not be exactly how we’d like them to be, and we forget to denounce those who no longer are like us, those who hate (Europe) and are advancing their plans,” Macron said.

“We’re getting used to the extremes in countries who for years had been pro-European like us, and on this issue our business, journalistic and political elites have an immense responsibility,” he added.

BBC – Macron’s swimming pool plan for palace lands him in hot water

French President Emmanuel Macron has landed in some hot water over plans to build a new swimming pool at his private presidential retreat.

The planned pool at Fort Brégançon, on France’s south-east coast, is designed to provide privacy for the president’s family, and particularly children.

Past presidents have been photographed at the retreat’s “private” beach in their swimwear.

But Mr Macron’s political opponents have painted it as an extravagance.

The swimming pool’s cost is expected to be relatively low, with French media estimating it could be built for about €10,000. The presidential palace told French broadcaster BFMTV that the cost would be drawn from the usual budget for maintenance of the Brégançon retreat.

But the proposal has emerged just weeks after a controversy over the cost of new formal dining plates for the Élysée palace, Mr Macron’s primary residence in Paris. A new porcelain dinner set will cost some €50,000 – though one publication claimed the real cost was closer to €500,000.

In the same week, he used the private presidential jet for a 110km (68-mile) journey lasting 30 minutes and was heard to remark on the “shedload of cash” spent on the country’s benefits system.

Ridiculing the run of poor publicity, Lydia Guirous, spokeswoman for the rival Republican party said: “Now Jupiter requires a swimming pool” – referring to the king of gods in Roman mythology, who ruled above all others.

“The president’s profligate behaviour is shocking when he is calling on the French to make ever more efforts!” she tweeted.

Fort Brégançon, used by French presidents since Charles de Gaulle in the 1960s, is on an outcrop reachable by just one main road, and comes complete with its own beach.

But several French presidents have found that the private retreat is not safe from the eyes of paparazzi.

Mr Macron’s predecessor François Hollande was photographed in his swimwear with first lady Valérie Trierweiler in 2012 – appearing on the cover of France’s VSD magazine, Voici, and Closer.

Before that, Nicolas Sarkozy was also snapped at the fort with his wife Carla Bruni while she was heavily pregnant.

But it was Jacques Chirac, in 2001, who discovered the open nature of Fort Brégançon most spectacularly.

Then-President Chirac was photographed upon the balcony, gazing out upon the ocean – wearing nothing at all.

      The pictures were never published.

“Riyadh plans to dig a waterway along the border with Qatar to cut off its neighbor from the mainland amid a continuing standoff between the two countries, Gulf News reported.

June 25 is Saudi Arabia’s deadline for accepting tenders to dig the 60-kilometer (37.2-mile) Salwa canal.

Five international companies with expertise in digging canals have so far submitted tenders for the construction of the 200 meter-wide (656 feet) and 20 meter-deep (65.6 feet)canal to run inside the territories of Saudi Arabia and about one kilometer from the country’s official border with Qatar.

In a tweeted message on Tuesday, Saudi royal advisor Saud al-Qahtani congratulated his fellow countrymen on the start of what he described as a “glorious” project that will “turn Qatar into an island.”

He earlier said that Qatar would become part of Salwa Island, which is set to become home to a Saudi military base.

On June 5, 2017, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE and Egypt broke off diplomatic, trade and travel ties with Qatar accusing it of sponsoring terrorism and cooperation with Iran.

The quartet then issued a list of 13 demands Qatar had to comply with in order to restore relations.

Doha has rejected the demands and all mediation efforts have so far failed to achieve a breakthrough.”

  10. Italian interior minister tells rescue ship to ‘bring migrants to the Netherlands’ (CNN, Jun 21, 2018)
    https://edition.cnn.com/2018/06/21/europe/italy-interior-minister-salvini-lifeline-rescue-ship-intl/index.html

“Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini has warned yet another migrant rescue ship it will not be able to dock in Italian ports and accused it of violating international laws.

During a Facebook live from his office, Salvini claimed a Dutch-flagged ship operated by the German nongovernmental organization Lifeline “forcefully boarded 224 illegal migrants in Libyan waters” despite warnings by the Italian Coast Guard that Libyan authorities were in charge of the rescue.

“You did a show of strength by contravening the indications of the Italian and Libyan coastguard. Now, you’ll carry this human load to the Netherlands,” Salvini said.

“I want to save lives but I’m paid by Italians to defend the safety of Italian citizens. I don’t accept there are organizations of pseudo-volunteers that endanger the lives of those who flee Africa and then think to disembark them all in Italy.”

Salvini added that the Italian population want to “stop the mafia of illegal immigration.”
“These foreign NGOs, with foreign staff, foreign funding and flying foreign flags will no longer touch Italian soil,” he added.

Lifeline tweeted this morning that it was rescuing 300-400 people. “Reinforcement by the Italian Coast Guard or merchant ships is required. Further information follows,” the NGO tweeted…”

    • Associated Press – Italy Interior Minister Refuses Port to Migrant Rescue Ship

MILAN — Italy’s hard-line interior minister on Thursday refused port to a Dutch-flagged rescue boat with 224 migrants on board, a week after turning away another foreign ship, the Aquarius, carrying 630 migrants.

Matteo Salvini said the ship operated by the German aid group Mission Lifeline had loaded the migrants in Libyan waters after the Italian coast guard told it to leave the rescues to the Libyan coast guard. Salvini said he had contacted the Dutch ambassador about the ship’s activities, adding that the migrants “will only see Italy on a postcard.”

Mission Lifeline said it conducted the rescue in international waters and asked for a safe port, which had not been assigned, adding “‘we are sailing northward.” The ship’s position Thursday night was not clear.

The aid group has rescued 675 migrants since 2016, until now handing them over to other ships to continue rescues at sea. This is the first time it is requesting a port.

“Mission Lifeline fears that a similar situation to the Aquarius … could be on the horizon,” the group said in a statement, adding that the additional days at sea had health consequences for some of the Aquarius passengers. “Therefore the NGO calls on the competent authorities to swiftly react to their obligation to designate a place of safety.”

Spokesman Axel Steier said in an email that the condition of the migrants was “OK,” but said migrants coming from Libya typically faced “torture, rapes, slavery.” He said the passengers need protection and that the group is looking for a safe port “such as Lampedusa or Pozzallo,” both in Sicily.

“We never were in Libyan waters!” he said.

Italy’s transport minister, Danilo Toninelli, told the news agency ANSA after a Cabinet meeting late Thursday that the Lifeline remained in Libyan waters, according to Italian coast guard officials. He also said that the ship would be seized by Italian authorities if it arrived in Italy.

The Aquarius, operated by SOS Mediterranee and Doctors Without Borders, took the migrants to Spain, traveling an additional 1,500 kilometers (932 miles), after Italy and Malta refused to let them land.

Salvini has likened such rescue ships to taxi services that finish the job for migrant smugglers. He also has pointed out the failure of other European Union nations to take their share of migrants headed for Europe, a point that Italy will press in upcoming EU meetings. Salvini has threatened that Italy will withhold its payments to the EU if it doesn’t get more help on the migrant issue.

Some 640,000 migrants have landed in Italy since 2014. The numbers are down dramatically this year, to some 14,500, more than 80 percent lower than in 2017.

ANSA – Govt blasts ‘illegal’ NGO migrant rescue

(ANSA) – Rome, June 21 – Interior Minister Matteo Salvini and Transport Minister Danilo Toninelli both launched high-voltage attacks on German NGO Mission Lifeline on Thursday after its ship rescued hundreds of migrants off the coast of Libya. “The Lifeline NGO ship is operating in Libyan waters outside all rules, outside international law,” Toninelli, whose brief includes control of Italy’s ports, said on Facebook.

“They have taken on 250 boat-wreck victims even though they don’t have the technical means to guarantee their safety or the safety of the crew,” he added, saying he had asked the Italian Coast Guard to launch a probe.

Interior Minister Salvini said the Lifeline should not expect to have access to Italy’s ports. “Have you forced things by not listening to the Libyan and Italian coast guard? Fine, then you can take this load of human beings to Holland,” Salvini said on Facebook about the Lifeline, which was reportedly Dutch-flagged. “Take the long route”. Salvini has spearheaded the tough stance on migrants of the new League/5-Star Movement (M5S) government that saw migrant-rescue ship Aquarius, which is run by another NGO, have to travel to Valencia last week after it was denied permission to dock in an Italian port.
The Netherlands said Thursday that it is not true that the Lifeline and another NGO-run migrant-rescue ship, the Seefuchs, are sailing under Dutch flags.

“The Seefuchs and Lifeline are not sailing under Dutch flag as per UNCLOS (United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea) flag state responsibility,” the Netherlands representation at the EU said via Twitter.

“These ships are owned by German NGOs and not entered into the NL ships register.
“So NL is not able to give instructions to these ships. Italy is aware of the Dutch position.
“We explicitly share Italy’s concerns about the sustained irregular flow of migrants who cross the Mediterranean Sea, the unintended side effects of rescue operations and the precarious position of Italy as first country of arrival,” it added in a subsequent tweet. “Solidarity is required”.

reuters – Italy to pick up migrants, impound German charity ship

Anti-immigrant interior minister Matteo Salvini initially said the Dutch-flagged ship Lifeline should take the people it plucked from the Mediterranean to the Netherlands and not Italy.

But transport minister Danilo Toninelli, who oversees the coastguard, later said it was unsafe for the 32-metre vessel to travel such a great distance with so many people on board.

“We will assume the humanitarian generosity and responsibility to save these people and take them onto Italian coastguard ships,” Toninelli said in a video posted on Facebook.

Earlier this month Salvini pledged to no longer let charity ships bring rescued migrants in Italy, leaving the Gibraltar-flagged Aquarius stranded at sea for days with more than 600 migrants until Spain offered them safe haven.

The Dutch government denied responsibility for the vessel, something Toninelli said Italy would investigate. The Italian coastguard would escort Lifeline “to an Italian port to conduct the probe” and impound the ship, he said.

Also on Thursday, the German charity Sea Eye which operates another Dutch-flagged ship, the Seefuchs, said in a statement it was ending its sea rescue mission after the Dutch government told them that it was no longer responsible for the vessel.

      RUBBER BOATS

The crew of the ship operated by Mission Lifeline, a charity based in Dresden, Germany, had spotted migrants in two overcrowded rubber boats in international waters early on Thursday.

They were told by Italy that Libya’s coastguard was coming to get them, but decided to rescue the migrants because they would not have been safe if taken back to Libya, a spokesman for the charity said.

“You have intentionally not listened to Italian or Libyan authorities. Good. Then take this load of human beings to the Netherlands,” Salvini, leader of the anti-immigrant League party, said in a Facebook video.

International maritime guidelines say that people rescued at sea should be taken to the nearest “place of safety”.

The United Nations and other humanitarian agencies do not deem Libya “a place of safety” because they say migrants there are subject to indefinite detention, physical abuse, forced labor and extortion.

Lifeline spokesman Axel Steier said the migrants on its boat included 14 women and four small children. “We didn’t want to wait for the Libyan coastguard because people were in danger,” Steier told Reuters.

Waiting for the Libyans would have constituted allowing “an illegal pushback” of refugees to a country where they are not safe, he added.

Italy’s new populist government has thrust migration to the top of the European Union agenda. Italy has seen more than 640,000 migrants land on its shores since 2014 and is currently sheltering 170,000.

An emergency “mini-summit” has been called for Brussels on Sunday to discuss immigration ahead of a full, 28-state EU summit on June 28-29.

Last weekend, Toninelli had called on the Netherlands to recall the Lifeline and Seefuchs.

“They provide an incentive and encouragement for the departure of the death boats,” Toninelli said on Thursday.

  14. Following the ‘secret stuff’ bread crumbs on Russiagate – Part 1: The Comey alibi
    By J.E. Dyer June 20, 2018

Although it’s time to begin shifting the focus of Russiagate analysis to an earlier period – before March of 2016 – the Wall Street Journal’s Holman W. Jenkins, Jr. raised a still-unadjudicated point this past week that merits at least one more look at that busy month.

In his column on Friday, 15 June, Jenkins continues a series of essential pieces he has done on some supposed “Russian-hacking intelligence,” about an assurance from Loretta Lynch to the Hillary Clinton campaign that Lynch wouldn’t let the email probe “go too far.” His concern is that the truth about that remains hidden in the classified appendix to the Justice Department IG report, and that the appendix needs to be released. (Ben Bowles wrote about this at LU on Tuesday.)

Readers can be pardoned for not remembering what that story’s about. James Comey has brought it up repeatedly, and the media have dutifully given it oxygen each time. But they don’t flog it endlessly with the purpose of making it a core element of the Russiagate narrative. As Russiagate side-dramas go, it has been flying under the radar.

    https://libertyunyielding.com/2018/06/20/following-the-secret-stuff-bread-crumbs-on-russiagate-part-1-the-comey-alibi/

    • The short version: leakers disclosed, back in April and May 2017, that the FBI had received information before the election about the Russians having a hacked email in which Debbie Wasserman Schultz discussed Lynch’s alleged guarantee to the Clinton campaign.

The information reportedly reached the FBI in early March 2016.

Wasserman Schultz’s correspondent in that email was supposedly a man named Leonard Benardo, an official with George Soros’ Open Society Foundations. The content of the email was alleged to be a claim that Lynch had told Hillary staffer Amanda Renteria that she (Lynch) wouldn’t let the email probe go too far, and implicitly damage the Clinton campaign.

    • Secret stuff’ on Russiagate – Part 2: The Nones of March, 2016
      By J.E. Dyer June 20, 2018

In Part 1, we reviewed a comparatively obscure story reported in 2017, about intelligence the FBI supposedly gained in early March 2016 from the Russian hacking of Democrats’ computer systems.

The gist of the story is that a hacked email suggested then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch assured the Hillary Clinton campaign that she would not let the FBI probe of Hillary’s emails “go too far.” Part 1 looked at things the FBI could have done to follow up on that, and at James Comey’s persistent use of the story to justify his preemptive move to exonerate Hillary in July 2016.

Part 1 also noted Obama’s involvement with Hillary’s private email address, and the knowledge his staff clearly would have had that he was corresponding with it. The aggregate view of these factors indicates that U.S. agencies, far from being startled by intelligence about Russian activities, probably had to know more about them than the media’s Russiagate narrative implies.

We pick up the thread with reflections on that in Part 2.

    • ‘Secret stuff’ on Russiagate – Part 3: Enter the woman
      By J.E. Dyer June 21, 2018

In Part 2, we looked at the story of intelligence the FBI supposedly gained in March 2016 from Russian hacking of Democrats’ computer systems, in the context of both the other known events of that eventful month, and the overall intelligence and cybersecurity posture the U.S. government had to have at the time.

An important event especially likely to be related to the “Russian hacking intelligence” is the discovery on 9 March 2016 that the FBI had been processing raw NSA intelligence in such a way that contractor personnel had been exposed to it.

This discovery had a profound effect on U.S. intelligence data-handling in the months that followed, and very probably on what the Obama administration was doing to track the Trump campaign.

But the nature of the intelligence involved is also significant, because it could very well have been related to the Russian-hacking intelligence story. The coincidental timing – the FBI receiving the Russian-hacking intelligence at the same time the improper exposure of raw intelligence to contractors was discovered – sets up a question, at least, that demands an answer. Were the two related?

  15. Trump order on family separations is NOT a reversal of policy, but it does punt a key issue
    By J.E. Dyer June 20, 2018

[Be sure to see the essential addendum at the bottom. – J.E.]

As Howard Portnoy noted earlier today, the Trump administration announced the president would sign an executive order aimed at ending family separations. The media crowed quickly that Trump was backing down on the “zero tolerance” policy — which Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) had made clear on Tuesday was the real goal.

Democrats are not as interested in the fate of children as they are in making sure the adults accompanying them in illegal border crossings are released into the U.S. population without their cases decided. The purpose of structuring law to create untenable situations is to make unprotected borders seem like the only option. This is why Schumer was adamant that fixing the law — which Republicans have two viable bills in progress to do — is not the right solution.

It turns out, however, that Trump has not ended the zero-tolerance policy, nor will the administration end all separations. According to his executive order, the zero-tolerance policy will continue. CNBC has a summary of the order’s provisions, which I have annotated with comments:

    https://libertyunyielding.com/2018/06/20/trump-order-on-family-separations-is-not-a-reversal-of-policy-but-it-does-punt-a-key-issue/

    • Basically the order diesn’t change anything that the Administration has been doing but it does direct AG Sessions to review the lower court order from back in the 90s (I think that is the date) that limited the ability of the government to hold kids with their families until the parents cases were adjudicated.

This win needs to be sipped slowly for maximum enjoyment.
First, we would draw your attention to May 23rd, when President Trump announced an instruction to Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross to begin a Section 301 review of the auto industry a week prior to the implementation of the Steel and Aluminum tariffs.

At the time when all media were discussing other ‘matters’ CTH pointed out the strategy that was visible in the Auto-Sector. China, the EU (specifically Germany), and Canada were the strategic trade targets in the approach. About a week later, Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland snarkily announced her “sisterhood in trade” with EU Trade Minister Cecilia Malström, and how together they formed a strategy and were going to block President Trump. They were very pleased with themselves (please watch).

Organisers FKP Scorpio announced that there are no plans to put on another Bråvalla festival again this after speculation that the festival may occur in 2019 despite being cancelled this year, Norrköpings Tidningar reports.

Kajsa Apelqvist, who heads public relations for the organisation, said: “It’s a very disappointing decision to take, but the overall picture we have is that we can not develop the festival in the way we want to be relevant to our visitors in the future.”

When asked about the wave of sex attacks at the festival, which resulted in the festival being cancelled this year, Apelqvist said: “We have always claimed that it is not a festival problem but a social problem. How we ensure our visitors’ safety is something we are constantly developing, and that’s something we’ll never finish.”

The report from Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz is disturbing. Americans expect the chief law enforcement agencies of the federal government — the DOJ and the FBI — to administer justice in an ethical, professional, objective, nonpartisan and above-board manner.

Horowitz investigated the government’s investigation of Hillary Clinton’s email scandal. He found that FBI agents who “demonstrated extremely poor judgment and a gross lack of professionalism.” Their internal communications mixed their political opinions with their investigative duties, including “statements of hostility toward then-candidate Donald Trump and statements of support for then-candidate Clinton,” the focus of the investigation.

Text messages between two of the agents implied “a willingness to take official action to impact the presidential candidate’s election prospects. This is antithetical to the core values of the FBI and the Department of Justice.” According to the IG, “the conduct by these employees cast a cloud over the FBI” and “sowed doubt (over) the FBI’s work on, and its handling of, the (Clinton) investigation.”

Authorities told residents of the Florida de Alicante university accommodation, which reportedly costs students 750 euros rent per month, that the property had been chosen by Valencia’s regional government to house around 100 so-called unaccompanied minors who the NGO boat delivered in Spain at the weekend.

The country’s new Socialist regime went out of its way to invite the Aquarius to dock in Valencia after Italy’s recently elected populist coalition turned away the boat carrying more than 600 migrants, who largely hail from West African nations and Bangladesh.

The short eviction notice was issued at a time when a large proportion of residents living in the property’s en suite dormitories face an “intensive” period of study, according to local media.

Reports of the move were treated as false information at first, said news portal Intereconomia, until the regional government in Valencia confirmed it was evicting the students “as a measure of emergency”.

The mother of one of the students, whose son needs to complete his German course in order to be able to take up a job offer, said that the eviction has thrown his studies into chaos.

  25. The National Security Agency is all-in on cloud.

The National Security Agency has moved most of the mission data it collects, analyzes and stores into a classified cloud computing environment known as the Intelligence Community GovCloud.

The IC GovCloud is a single integrated “big data fusion environment” that allows analysts to rapidly “connect the dots” across all NSA’s data sources, according to Chief Information Officer Greg Smithberger.

The impetus for the multi-year move is getting the NSA’s data, including signals intelligence and other foreign surveillance and intelligence information it ingests from multiple repositories around the globe into a single data lake analysts from the NSA and other IC agencies can run queries against.

“The NSA has been systematically moving almost all its mission into this big data fusion environment,” Smithberger told Nextgov in an interview. “Right now, almost all NSA’s mission is being done in [IC GovCloud], and the productivity gains and the speed at which our analysts are able to put together insights and work higher-level problems has been really amazing.”

Smithberger said the IC GovCloud environment accelerates the analytic work humans can do by employing machine learning and algorithms. Data ingested by NSA has been meta-tagged with bits of information, including where it came from and who is authorized to see it, which ensures analysts only immerse themselves in intelligence they’re cleared to see.

“This environment allows us to run analytic tools and do machine-assisted data fusion and big data analytics, and apply a lot of automation to facilitate and accelerate what humans would like to do, and get the machines to do it for them,” Smithberger said. Analysts, he said, can “interactively ask questions” of the data in the cloud environment, and it spits out data in “humanly readable form.”

The backbone of the system is the same commercial hardware you might see in data centers owned by Facebook, Amazon or other industry titans. But that hardware is blended with NSA-developed custom software, exotic processing, high performance computing and other unique NSA intellectual property.

“It’s really a hybrid of the latest and greatest commercial technology, but a lot of custom NSA technology and a lot of unique development we’ve done to actually create these outcomes,” Smithberger said.

While the IC GovCloud is NSA’s creation–and centrally funded by the NSA–its basic services are available to the 16 other agencies that comprise the IC, including the Central Intelligence Agency and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.

IC GovCloud is one of two major cloud initiatives across the IC. Four years ago, the CIA awarded a $600 million contract to Amazon Web Services to develop a commercial cloud environment for the IC agencies. Today, the Amazon-developed C2S provides utility computing services the IC

  27. The Real Child Abusers of Border Insecurity
The zombie lawsuit causing family separation that never dies.
    June 21, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

What the media has been falsely calling President Trump’s family separation policy began with Hollywood actor Ed Asner’s housekeeper and a lawsuit by the ACLU during the Reagan administration.

    The issue was child trafficking.

Teenage girls were being smuggled into the United States. Some were being sent on to their illegal alien family members in the United States. Others were being sent to the United States as cheap labor or being trafficked for prostitution. People purporting to be family members might show up asking for them to be released into their custody. And immigration authorities were faced with a horrible situation.

The ACLU was less interested in the teens than in Attorney General Edwin Meese. Reagan’s AG was the Sessions of the day. A man whose name so enraged the left-wing group that at one point it circulated petitions demanding that Reagan fire Meese and called him the most dangerous official since Nixon.

Flores v. Meese, the case that led to the family separation policy, was born with Ed Asner’s housekeeper and the ACLU’s obsession with Meese. But the case, with various AGs replacing Meese, dragged on. And the ACLU went on insisting that refusing to release teenage illegal aliens violated the Constitution.

  28. Fake News to Doxx News: The Alt-Left Media’s Doxxing of Stephen Miller and ICE
    June 21, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

Twitter rarely enforces its rules against the left (Peter Fonda’s Twitter account is still active despite threats of sexual violence on the service), but the recent rash of doxxing by Luke O’Brien, a Huffington Post writer against a Twitter user, by Splinter against Stephen Miller, and by another alt-left figure against ICE employees, forced it to take action.

This belated intervention was necessary, particularly as Splinter had gone Full Gawker in publishing Miller’s cell phone number. But it also signals how the alt-left media, a group of extreme sites such as Splinter, The Intercept, the New Republic, and the Huffington Post, are turning to doxxing as a weapon against their political opponents.

Since the alt-left emerged from internet troll culture before going mainstream on sites like Gawker, the use of doxxing isn’t surprising. Neither is the mainstream media’s tactic acceptance of such tactics.

Or as the Columbia Journalism Review put it, “Ashley Feinberg trolls for all the right reasons”.

  29. Why Did Susan Rice Issue a Stand Down Order on Russian Hacking?
    June 21, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

Post-election, the Democrats have insisted that the 2016 election was delegitimized by Russian hacking. Yet they were curiously disinterested in doing anything about it.

Former President Barack Obama’s cybersecurity czar confirmed Wednesday that former national security adviser Susan Rice told him to “stand down” in response to Russian cyber attacks during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Michael Daniel, whose official title was “cybersecurity coordinator,” confirmed the stand-down order during a Senate Select Committee on Intelligence hearing held to review the Obama and President Donald Trump’s administrations’ policy response to Russian election interference.

    Why would Rice do that?

It’s fairly consistent with Obama’s Russia policy. That’s where the media narrative goes off the rails trying to explain why, if there was a hacking crisis, Obama chose to do nothing.

  30. ‘Textbook Definition of Bias’
Trey Gowdy and Company grill Obama’s Inspector General.
    June 21, 2018
    Lloyd Billingsley

On Monday, DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz testified with FBI boss Christopher Wray before the Senate Judiciary Committee. In a predictable performance, the duo cited mistakes and raised concerns but solved none of the lingering mysteries the massive report released last week that found anti-Trump bias did not affect FBI and DOJ decisions.

On Tuesday Horowitz performed solo before a joint session of the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees. Oversight chairman Trey Gowdy delivered the opening statement.

The attorney general had been accused of “softening or watering down his report,” Gowdy said, “When the reality is it was Jim Comey who softened and watered down his press release, announcing no charges against Secretary Clinton. We see Jim Comey and Jim Comey alone deciding which DOJ policies to follow and which to ignore, to decide whether there is sufficient evidence to support each and every element of an offense and we see Jim Comey and Jim Comey alone deciding whether to send a letter to Congress in the throes of looming election.”

In a devastating exchange with Horowitz, Gowdy said that “prejudging the outcome of an investigation before it ends, and prejudging the outcome of an investigation before it begins” is the “textbook definition of bias.” Democrats echoed the IG report’s conclusion that there was no bias. Republicans sought to tie up some loose threads.

Marvel and DC Comics ignore Jihad – and push Islamic propaganda through their Muslim superheroes.
    June 21, 2018
    Bosch Fawstin

Do you recall, during World War Two, when comic book publishers published German and Japanese superheroes, with no mention of the war going on in their stories? No? Well, that’s what Marvel and DC Comics are doing today with their Muslim superhero comic books, which completely ignore the Only reason we began speaking about Islam-Jihad.

There’s no demand for Muslim superheroes, not in the marketplace, not from comic book fans, not even from Muslims. But there is a demand for superheroes to take on Jihad. But I’ll get back to that later.

Marvel Comics recently cancelled low-selling gay, black and female superhero comic books, and yet their low-selling Muslim superhero comic book continues to be published. The reason Marvel first published its Muslim superhero is because Marvel’s leftist editors were too afraid to turn down the idea from their Muslim editor, Sana Amanat, who knew she could roll them easily. And the reason they won’t cancel it is out of fear that real world Muslims won’t be like the ones they’re invested in portraying in their fantasy world. They published it out of fear and they won’t cancel it out of fear. And now she might appear in Marvel’s movies, out of fear.

Surveys conducted by Pew Research have revealed a great deal about Muslim beliefs and practices across the globe. But they fall short of providing an overall picture of the Muslim world because they are divided by country or region.

The Muslim Global Demographic Project was established to answer this need by compiling Pew survey information in order to compute global percentages and global population statistics on Islamic beliefs and practices as they relate to security, terrorism, and the potential threat to Western culture.[1]

Taken together, nearly 1.1 billion Muslims are represented in the 39 countries where Pew surveys were completed between 2008 and 2012.[2] This encompasses two-thirds of the world’s 1.6 billion Muslims (based on a 2010 estimate), though not every country was polled in all of the survey questions.[3] Since the surveys cover only countries with substantial Muslim populations, the United States and Western Europe were not included.

Some of the key findings of the project are presented here. For the complete report and analysis, see “Muslim Beliefs & Practices: A Global Demographic Assessment.”
