  1. Various versions of this video have been popping up ‘all over’.

I have no idea as to its authenticity – but, true or not, the fact that this is being so widely circulated right now is significant in and of itself…

      • You got that right, I don’t think much of his intelligence but he is smart enough to know not to make a speech like the fake.

His actions and other speeches say he probably thinks what was in the fake but he isn’t going to say it in public.

        • The person who made the fake was taking the sentiment show in his bitter clingers speech (given in private) and Hillary’s basket of deplorables speech (given in public). Both show the attitude in the fake but neither come out and flat state they are for the ordinary people having no rights or say in their future. The actions of both Obama and Hillary of weaponizing the Federal law enforcement agencies and the Intelligence agencies against Donald Trump also shows the same attitude.

The faker is using those speeches and actions to create a meme that can be used to attack the alternative media that use it.

          • bitter clingers

That sounds just like a problem my drinking buddy had after three days of bingeing on Manhattans.

  2. Italy and France have jointly expressed support for EU “asylum centres” to be set up in countries where many migrants begin their journeys to Europe.

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and French President Emmanuel Macron met in Paris after a days-long row over the fate of the rescue ship Aquarius.

Italy had refused to accept the vessel, carrying more than 600 African migrants, diverting it to Spain.

Mr Conte and Mr Macron have now agreed the current system must be reformed.

Mr Macron proposed building migration centres in countries of departure, including Libya, from which many people attempt a dangerous sea crossing to Europe – an idea he has raised in the past.

He said many of those attempting the journey had “no possibility of obtaining asylum in Europe”, but die in the attempt – or spend months living in poor conditions only to be sent home.

Processing asylum claims in applicants’ home countries could avoid those problems, he said.

Mr Conte, the head of Italy’s new populist coalition government, agreed with the plan, calling for widespread reform of the current system.

  3. Woodrow Wilson is THE mos fascistic President the US ever had, even surpassing Barrack Hussein Obama:

Perhaps the most evil human being to have ever existed (OK – second to my mother…but she is not smart, so she is my problem, not the world’s, the way Woodrow Wilson is):

  4. Thank you for publicising the history and importance of Santiago de Compostela. I walked the Camino earlier this year. It was cold, wet, snowy, steep, rocky, muddy, treacherous in sections and windy. It was the best walk ever!
I now bake a great Tarte de Santiago!

  5. Quran Found in Vehicle Purposely Rammed into French Police (breitbart, Jun 18, 2018)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/06/18/quran-found-vehicle-purposely-rammed-french-police-twice/

“Police in Paris discovered a Quran along with texts in Arabic in a car which was used to ram a police vehicle twice before the suspects fled on foot.

The attacks on the Paris police van occurred on Wednesday at around midnight on the Avenue de la Porte d’Aubervilliers in the northern part of the city bordering the 18th and 19th arrondissements, BFMTV reports.

Initially, the men in the car were asked to slow down as they were speeding. Following the warning, the car rammed the police van and sped away with the police in pursuit. When the vehicle was stopped by traffic, the driver attempted to ram the police van a second time and then the four occupants got out and ran, abandoning the car.

Police searched the car finding a copy of the Quran inside along with Arabic texts and noted that the vehicle had not been reported stolen at the time. Shortly after, a bomb squad team was dispatched to the scene to search the car for any potential explosives but none were found, according to investigators…”

  6. Foreign Students Not Asked to Prove English Skills, as Sajid Javid Continues Immigration Visa Relaxation (breitbart, Jun 18, 2018)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/06/18/foreign-students-not-asked-prove-english-skills-visa-relaxation/

“Tens of thousands more foreign students will be allowed into the UK without having to prove they have the right qualifications or can even speak English, as the new Home Secretary continues to relax visa rules.

According to the plan from Sajid Javid, some students will also not have to prove they can support themselves in the UK if they come from nations the Home Office considers to be “low risk” for people abusing the system, the Daily Mail reports.

The announcement of the changes to so-called “Tier 4” visas comes days after Mr. Javid announced changes to “Tier 2” visas, allowing in thousands of more skilled and professional migrants.

Earlier in the week, he also introduced a new form of visa – the “start-up” visa route – to allow in more foreign graduates and people looking to start up businesses.

The reforms, when brought into action, will be the first major relaxation of immigration rules in eight years…:

  7. Pope Francis: All Are Called to Appreciate the ‘Contribution’ of Migrants (breitbart, Jun 18, 2018)
    http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2018/06/18/pope-francis-all-are-called-to-appreciate-the-contribution-of-migrants/

“Pope Francis plugged World Refugee Day on Sunday, reiterating his appeal for a streamlining of international migration and a greater appreciation for the positive contribution provided by immigrants.

World Refugee Day is “promoted by the United Nations to draw attention to the plight of our brothers and sisters forced to flee their land because of conflicts and persecution, often with great anxieties and sufferings,” Francis told the thousands of pilgrims gathered in Saint Peter’s Square for his weekly Angelus prayer.

As he has done on other occasions, the pontiff threw his weight behind the adoption of a “world pact on refugees,” as well as an international agreement to guarantee “safe, orderly, and regular migration.”

“I hope that the nations involved in these processes reach a consensus to ensure, with responsibility and humanity, the assistance and protection of those who are forced to leave their country,” he said.

Along with political measures, the pope also called for a change of heart at the personal level, urging individuals to be more welcoming toward migrants.

Each one of us “is called to be close to the refugees, to find moments of encounter with them, to appreciate their contribution, so that they can better fit into the communities that receive them,” he said. “The solution to many problems can be found in this encounter and in this mutual respect and support.”

The pope has recently been hammering home his pro-immigration message in an effort to bring about a sea change in debates surrounding migration.

Last Thursday, Francis explicitly appealed for a “change in mindset” regarding immigration, insisting in a message that migrants are not a threat to society but, rather, a source of enrichment.

In his message to the second Holy See-Mexico Conference on International Migration in the Vatican, Francis once again praised the United Nations’ efforts to achieve its two global compacts, one on refugees and the other on “safe, orderly and regular migration.”

The pontiff also sought to counter a negative narrative on mass migration, especially in countries that have been on the receiving end of mass migration, calling for a shift in priorities and mentality.

“This demands a change in mindset,” he said. “We must move from considering others as threats to our comfort to valuing them as persons whose life experience and values can contribute greatly to the enrichment of our society.”

“For this to happen, our basic approach must be to encounter the other, to welcome, to know and to acknowledge him or her,” he said.

The Vatican is in the midst of a two-year campaign aimed at changing people’s minds about migrants, which it inaugurated last September.

“Brothers, we mustn’t be afraid to share the journey! We mustn’t be afraid to share the hope!” Francis said in his announcement of the project called “Share the Journey.”

The campaign is being carried forward by the global Catholic charities network Caritas Internationalis and seeks to promote awareness and action on behalf of migrants and refugees, especially in building good relationships with local communities.

The stated goal of the project is to shed light on both the challenges and effects of migration at every stage of the journey to provoke a “shift in thinking” on the issue.

According to Caritas, the project was created in response to Pope Francis’s frequent summons for a “culture of encounter.”

Our world “faces not a migration crisis, but a crisis of global solidarity,” Caritas says on its website. “Be part of a worldwide campaign to reach out to migrants, change perceptions, open hearts and minds, and strengthen the bonds that unite us all.”

    • Just like Rita, no where to be found when you need the vomit bucket!

A “culture of encounter” indeed. Perhaps the Pope should come to Suffolk County Long Island to see what that “culture of encounter” has wrought. We now have a joint task force of the FBI, NYS Police, ICE and Suffolk County police trying to rid the communities in the Southwestern portion of the county of these “migrants (that) are not a threat to society but, rather, a source of enrichment.”
Last I heard, the body count was up to 18 teenagers that have lost their lives via this enrichment.
And BTW, Catholic Charities is one of the main contractors to the Federal gov’t that facilitates dumping these monsters into our communities.

  8. Italian Pro-Migrant Mayor: Abolish ‘Death Penalty’ Residency Permits, Open Borders For All (breitbart, Jun 18, 2018)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/06/18/italian-pro-migrant-mayor-abolish-residency-permits-death-penalty/

“Mayor of the Sicilian city of Palermo Leoluca Orlando has declared that Italy should ban residency permits altogether and allow migrants to flood into the country, comparing the permits as morally equivalent to the death penalty.

The 70-year-old mayor, who recently offered to take in the 629 illegals from the Aquarius migrant transport ship after Interior Minister Matteo Salvini banned it from Italian ports, wants to make his city the “capital of tolerance”, French magazine L’Obs reports.

“We are convinced that migrants are a resource and not a problem,” Orlando told the magazine and added: “This situation is an opportunity to defend the rights of all human beings to move and live in the place that suits them.”

Arguing for mass migration, Orlando said he did not see a difference between the migrants and the residents of his city.

“When I am asked ‘how many immigrants to Palermo?’, I want to answer: ‘None because we are all Palermitans, them and us,’” he said.

“In our Charter signed by the main mayors of the south, we demand the outright abolition of the residency permit. It must be suppressed, as the death penalty has been abolished,” Orlando added in support of a move which would allow any migrant to stay in Italy regardless of whether they had a legal asylum claim or not.

The mayor slammed populist Interior Minister and leader of La Lega (The League) Matteo Salvini claiming that his move to block the migrant transport NGOs was just an election stunt and added: “Faced with such moves, the number of my fellow citizens who want to put a brake on populism in Sicily and abroad, can only increase.”‘

Despite the 70-year-old’s rhetoric, La Lega and Salvini have soared in polls since the national election earlier this year with a recent survey from polling firm Tecnè showing the populist anti-mass migration party approaching the same level of popularity as their Five Star Movement coalition partner.”

  9. Norway Targets Migrants Who Don’t Learn Norwegian (sputniknews, Jun 18, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201806181065506365-norway-migrants-norwegian/

“In order to improve integration and reduce the number of immigrants who take advantage of social support, the Norwegian government wants to tighten the language requirements to prove one’s eligibility for benefits.

The Norwegian government wants to tighten rules on social welfare payments to immigrants, the Scandinavian country’s finance minister said.

Newcomers to Norway must show a “willingness” to learn the country’s language — or forfeit some state benefits, Finance Minister Siv Jensen, the leader of the right-wing Progress Party, told the daily newspaper Verdens Gang.

Jensen claimed that too many people were living in Norway without being able to speak Norwegian and thus be part of Norwegian society, which she called a “bad management of human resources.”

Jensen voiced particular concern regarding female immigrants that failed to have learned Norwegian.

“Far too many minority women cannot speak Norwegian, which means they are unable to follow how their children are doing at school and elsewhere,” Jensen stressed.

According to a proposal presented by Siv Jensen and Integration Minister Tore Sanner, the support will not depend on how much you have studied the Norwegian language, but how well you actually speak it.

“This is a demand to immigrants that they must learn Norwegian and they should show a genuine willingness to do it. Just giving up and living on state welfare support won’t do,” Jensen said…”

  10. Erdogan Calls on Turks to ‘Give West Lesson’ at Upcoming Presidential Election (sputniknews, Jun 18, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201806181065506684-erdogan-asks-to-teach-west-lesson/

“Turks will go to the polls on June 24 to elect a new president amid worsening relations between Turkey and its traditional allies in Washington and Europe.

Addressing hundreds of thousands of supporters on Yenikapi Square in Istanbul on Sunday, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan asked the crowd to send a message to Turkey’s European and US partners.

“The West is looking for the June 24 elections. What are they waiting for? They are waiting to see how Erdogan will fall down. Are you ready to give a lesson to the West?” Erdogan asked, according to Hurriyet Daily News.

“You have always given that lesson up to this day. I believe in you. God willing, you will give them another lesson,” he added…”

  11. Iran hangs Sufi over killing of 3 policemen (abcnews, Jun 18, 2018)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/iran-hangs-sufi-killing-policemen-55968827

“Iran has executed a member of a Sufi order who rammed a bus into police as they tried to disperse a rally, killing three of them.

The official website of the judiciary says Mohammad Salas was hanged early Monday. Salas had testified in March that he was trying to get away from the clashes and had not intended to harm anyone.

The clashes broke out in February when supporters of Sufi leader Nourali Tabandeh rallied outside his home, fearing his possible arrest.

Iran’s clerically overseen government frowns on Sufism, the mystical strain of Islam. Many conservatives view it as a deviation from the faith.

Rights groups say Iran is one of the world’s leading executioners, and have repeatedly called on it to abolish the death penalty.”

“Philippine military airstrikes and ground assaults targeted a group of Islamic State group-linked militants in an offensive that reportedly killed five extremists and forced more than 5,000 villagers to flee to safety in the south, officials said Monday.

Army Col. Romeo Brawner said the offensive Sunday sparked gunbattles between troops and the extremists in Tubaran town in a mountainous region of Lanao del Sur province and the military was verifying reports that at least of five militants had been killed. Troops were pursuing the militants.

The offensive targeted about 40 militants led by Owayda Benito Marohombsar, who uses the nom de guerre Abu Dar. He was among those who led a five-month siege of Marawi city, not far from Tubaran, but managed to escape before troops quelled the uprising last October…”

  13. Just quickly dropping in: Life press conference of Merkel.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNFvjoApbsY

In brief: she is obviously back pedalling, giving some “show” concessions to her Interior Minister, Horst Seehover (the limp Bavarian who fears the imminent regional in Bavaria).
She wants to stay in power, she has yet more damages to do to Germany.

She absolutely wants to participate at the upcoming EU Gipfel, happening in 14 days.

My “gut feelings” could be expressed in that Australian Slang saying:

“Merkel is a cunning as a shit house rat”.

    • Bavarians give Merkel two weeks to reach EU deal on migrants

BERLIN/MUNICH (Reuters) – Bavaria’s Christian Social Union (CSU) on Monday gave German Chancellor Angela Merkel two weeks to reach a European deal on migrants before they would demand immigration curbs that could fracture her governing coalition.

The CSU leadership agreed on Monday to delay until after a June 28-29 European Union summit the introduction of an entry ban for refugees who have already registered in other EU countries, allowing Merkel time to reach a multilateral deal.

Merkel opposes any unilateral move by German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer, who is also CSU chairman, that would reverse her 2015 open-door policy on migrants and undermine her authority. Monday’s compromise means he can introduce immediate expulsion for one subset of migrants.

“We wish the chancellor much luck,” Seehofer told a news conference in Munich, announcing that he would nonetheless issue orders for people who have already been expelled to be turned back at the borders.

“This is not about winning time or anything like that but rather that in July, if there is no result at European level, we must implement this – that is a question for the functioning of our constitutional state,” he added.

      http://www.oann.com/in-coalition-showdown-merkel-allies-to-decide-on-migrant-plan/

    • The predictions I heard this morning (6/18/18) are that the big political crisis will start some time near Friday or Saturday.

  14. Regional Elections in Bavaria are in October.

The “important” meeting in Bruxelles – which she absolutely wants to attend – is in in a fortnight.

  15. In Tommy Robinson’s own words in his book The Enemy of The State:
    Page 1:
“The licence period of an 18-month prison sentence for lending my brother-in-law the deposit on his first house – yes, really – was due to end on Wednesday July 22nd. [2015]

    Page 4:
“I lent my brother-in-law £20,000 for a deposit on a house and he overstated his earnings on a self-certification mortgage, which made it ‘criminal’. No one lost a single penny…”

    • I too had his book on my shelves for a while and must return to it. I dont know in which place I read that one of his nieces was the victim of these, euphemistically referred to as “grooming” gangs, but as we now know all were muslim (mostly of pakistany provenance) rape-torture-prostitute-drugpeddling-killing gangs). So, Tommy had, initially, a personal catalyst to fightin this specific evil.

      • Thank you, that explains a lot about why he has been on this crusade and why he won’t give up.

  16. Just to remind you: the CDU is Merkels party – it used to be conservative, Merkel has turned it into a “fake conservative Party”.

The CSU is the Bavarian sister party of the CDU – Horst Seehover’s party and coalition party to Merkel’s CDU.

The meeting from which they just come out was to:

    – See Merkel lose and resign

    – See Merkel win and sack her Interior Minister (Seehover)
this would mean the coalition would be dead and potentially new Elections would have to take place. (A thing none of the so-called “Old Parties” want, since they are losing the public support)

    – Merkel gives in to Seehover’s “Materplan” (to survive) and keep the status quo alive.

It seems that the 3rd way – so far – has happened.

There is no business, like showbusiness………..and the fat lady has not sung yet.

(Oh and I have to quickly get in my Merkel Songs before they become invalid currency).

  17. Richard: The conflict is already occurring but we aren’t fighting back. Once again the left shows that it considers any effort of self defense as an aggressive act that is the cause of the violence. The initial attack is always forgotten by the left.

Pentagon Puts Cyberwarriors on the Offensive, Increasing the Risk of Conflict

    Posted 8:28 p.m. yesterday

By David E. Sanger, New York Times

WASHINGTON — The Pentagon has quietly empowered the United States Cyber Command to take a far more aggressive approach to defending the nation against cyberattacks, a shift in strategy that could increase the risk of conflict with the foreign states that sponsor malicious hacking groups.

Until now, the Cyber Command has assumed a largely defensive posture, trying to counter attackers as they enter American networks. In the relatively few instances when it has gone on the offensive, particularly in trying to disrupt the online activities of the Islamic State and its recruiters in the past several years, the results have been mixed at best.

But in the spring, as the Pentagon elevated the command’s status, it opened the door to nearly daily raids on foreign networks, seeking to disable cyberweapons before they can be unleashed, according to strategy documents and military and intelligence officials.

  18. Prince Harry told Meghan’s dad to ‘give Trump a chance’

London (AFP) – Meghan Markle’s father Thomas on Monday said that new son-in-law Prince Harry had urged him to give President US Donald Trump “a chance” in comments likely to cause discomfort for the royal family.

Thomas Markle told ITV’s Good Morning Britain (GMB) that Harry had said “give Donald Trump a chance,” adding: “I sort of disagreed with that, but I still like Harry, that’s his politics, I had my politics.”

When asked by host Piers Morgan if he believed the prince was a Trump fan, he responded “I would hope not, now.”

The comments will raise awkward questions for Harry, who is expected to remain largely apolitical.

Markle also said that during a “loose conversation” with Harry, the prince had said Brexit was “something we have to try” although “there was no real commitment to it”.

“I think he was open to the experiment,” added Markle.

An Australian couple visiting the city were shocked by what they saw after deciding to walk back to their hotel:

“Is this normal or am I in a ‘bad part of town?’ Just walked past numerous homeless off their faces, screaming and running all over the sidewalk near Twitter HQ and then a murder scene. Wife is scared to leave hotel now,” reads a Wednesday posting by Reddit user /u/nashtendo.

  20. In Erdogan Heartland, Lira Crisis Is Taking Toll on Businesses

Even in Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s electoral stronghold, businessmen like Halit Ozkaya can’t help but complain about the currency crisis the president instigated just weeks before elections.

The chairman of steel and copper cable maker Has Celik was forced to halt metal imports in May when Erdogan sent the lira into freefall by vowing to interfere in monetary policy if he wins on June 24. Now Ozkaya is worried Turkey is on the cusp of a debt crisis.

“The magnitude of the lira’s swings is putting us in trouble by killing predictability and creating uncertainty on debts repayment,” Ozkaya said from his office overlooking Kayseri, an industrial city where almost seven out of 10 voters backed Erdogan in 2015 elections.

Like most of the dozen businessmen Bloomberg interviewed across the Anatolian peninsula in June, Ozkaya declined to say whether Turkey’s economic troubles would influence his vote. Yet with polls suggesting Erdogan is in a tight race, losing any support in his heartland—home to a majority of Turkey’s population—would be detrimental.

In a country where political opponents are thrown in jail or threatened with business seizures, the reticence to discuss politics isn’t surprising. Many industrialists in conservative Anatolian cities like Kayseri, Konya and Gaziantep have used government incentives over the years to expand production.

    • This could get interesting, to an extent both China and Turkey are following the old philosophy of “Gold can’t always get you good soldiers but good soldiers can always get you gold.” Right now we are seeing this more from China and their push to seize the mineral rich waters in the South China Sea but we are also seeing it from Turkey in their warnings that Greece isn’t to drill for oil around the Greek Islands because Turkey has decided to claim those Islands and the oil near them. Economics is the cause of more wars then religion.

    • Another problem he has: the Islamist party and the Secular party both want less Islam.

  21. Did migrants in Germany get to work immediately?

Jean-Luc Mélenchon says that in Germany, migrants got to work immediately.

True or False: Germany faces the challenge of integrating migrants.

The leader of “France Insoumise” is worried about the hardening of people’ position against migrants across Europe . The Germans, in turn, demand more expulsions, placing Chancellor Angela Merkel in a difficult situation. Jean-Luc Mélenchon denounces a form of hypocrisy.

“Syrian immigration, it was a good deal. The people who arrived were trained people, they are doctors, engineers and the rest!” For Germans who have an aging population, it’s a golden opportunity. This immigration: It may be necessary to stop telling tall stories about the people who are coming in. They started to work immediately. ”

Migrants in Germany started to work immediately. True or false ?

This is false, it is even the opposite of what we observe. Jean-Luc Mélenchon maintains a myth: it can be verified because Germany, unlike France, asks about the level of qualification of the people it hosts. The statistics are imperfect (only three quarters of asylum seekers describe their skills, and we do not check the reality of what they say), but illuminating: Of the 1.3 million asylum seekers registered in Germany since In 2015, only 17% reported having attended a higher education institution (ie less than one in five), and the majority, in fact, did not go beyond college. Doctors, engineers, are very much in the minority, less than 2% of the total. Syrian migrants, who are often more highly educated, do not find more work: according to the latest figures from the German authorities, 69,300 Syrians have a real job in Germany (subject to pension contributions/taxes), that is one Syrian out of 7. Some 85% of them depend on social assistance. And this is the reality that the Germans are discovering: integration is particularly difficult for refugees, despite the training programs and the help Germans have put in place. Only 150,000 refugees from the eight main asylum-producing countries have found stable employment since 2015. This does not mean that refugees do not work: about 20% work in the interim, in catering, cleaning. But these are small jobs, underpaid, without a future. Jean-Luc Mélenchon is right to point out that a growing number of German companies benefit, but they are far from responding to the shortage of manpower.

    Yet Germany lacks workers.

There are no workers for 1.6 million jobs in Germany today, but refugees do not match them. There is the language barrier, qualifications , but it goes further. For example, 1.5% of refugees in Germany have medical training. But to work across the Rhine, it is necessary to retake diplomas, it takes very long. A mechanic who worked in the car industry in Iraq, for example, knows nothing about mechatronics, which is what the German industry needs. Even in the construction, the levels of requirement, the practices, are without comparison. As a result, even before they get to the training, the refugees have to start all over again (language courses, then mathematics, then physics, etc.). Germany lacks apprentices, but only 13,000 refugees have completed a full course in the last two years, and this year there are only 28,000 enrolled. That’s a little, and it shows how big the challenge is for Germany, which plans to spend 13 billion euros on language courses and training for migrants by 2022.

  22. Richard: We saw a report on actions like these on China Uncensored, we may have seen two reports, one on the US and one on Australia. China is desperate to recover the money that has been smuggled out which has hurt the Chinese economy and they want to get their hands on the political dissidents, especially since Xi has started seizing power to create a political system like that of Mao. This is a nasty problem that is going to get worse, probably much worse. If China isn’t already doing this to Canada they will in the near future.

Beijing Is Holding U.S. Citizens ‘Hostage’ in China

In its ongoing campaign to extend its reach beyond its borders, the Chinese government has found a new form of leverage: American citizens in China.

Last year, Beijing prevented several U.S. citizens from leaving China, including a pregnant woman, according to email correspondence obtained by The Daily Beast. The total number of so-called exit bans placed on U.S. citizens in China is unknown, but at least two dozen cases have occurred within the past two years, according to one analyst’s estimate.

Chinese authorities typically target U.S. citizens of Chinese heritage for exit bans, usually in connection with an investigation. Sometimes, Beijing uses American citizens to try to coerce family members residing in the United States to return to China or to cooperate with Chinese authorities in investigations.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has championed a sweeping anti-corruption campaign with an international element, known as “Operation Fox Hunt,” aimed at pursuing Chinese citizens who have fled abroad after allegedly committing economic crimes. The United States does not have an extradition treaty with China and in the past has rarely cooperated with Chinese demands to repatriate Chinese citizens whom Beijing considers to be fugitives. Beijing has previously deployed undercover agents to the United States to coerce targets into returning to China, violating U.S. visa laws and prompting U.S. government indignation.

  23. We’re seeing the greatest asset inflation bubble in 20 years, fund manager warns

Nobody wants to use the ‘B’ word, but a bubble is upon us, a growing number of market watchers are warning.

And it could pop sooner than many expect, Centricus Asset Management Fund Manager Ralph Jainz said Monday, joining a long list of financial players casting doubt on the strength of the market’s current bull run.

“Nobody wants to talk about this being a bubble. It’s the greatest asset inflation bubble we have seen in 20 years,” Jainz said during an appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box Europe.”

There is wide disagreement over whether markets have further to climb or whether we’ll see a spectacular market correction. Investing titan Mark Mobius recently predicted an impending correction of up to 30 percent, while others see no cause for concern.

But assets like tech equities have hit their highest points ever this year, and because of this, Jainz explained, traditionally defensive stocks like healthcare, pharmaceuticals and telecommunications are losing out. And these are exactly where you’d want your money to be in the event of a downturn, which Jainz believes may be just a year away.

  24. As I rush into the arms of Morpheus (it’s late in OZ), just a last few personal remarks which are certainly not objective: For one: I loathe Merkel ! and believe that she belongs before a Nürnberg Tribunal.

    1. I’m not all that unhappy that Merkel is not gone yet – the woman she is grooming as her successor ( they call her “little Merkel”), Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, (she shouldn’t be the new leaderesse of Germany alone for her name, you try and pronounce this after 1 German strength beer) who seems to be very popular among the party faithfull could have used the “it was not me who has done it” excuse. The damage Merkel has done to Germany (and Europe) cannot be undone, but only – perhaps – repaired, she might as well go until the most stupidly blind of Krauts will see it, call for her scalp and get it.

    2. Horst Seehover sounds good (he often does) but he has accommodated Merkel so often, that I dont trust him – they say of him “He always starts out like a tiger and always lands as the bed rug before Merkel’s bed”. This time however the Elections in his native Bavaria are just over the horizon (October), which might have inspired him to drink a glass of concrete and grow a spine.

    3. The catalysts for things starting to move in the right direction are – without any doubt – the AfD – Alternative for Germany – in Bavaria polls have them hot at the heels of the Local Party, the CSU, and while the conformist Lügenpresse has them “eating little children after killing them” the less and less gullible Volk perceives the AfD, correctly, as patriots who believe in protecting the borders and native peoples.

    Thank You AfD !

    4. And: I have to give it to Seehofer: good for the old fox (meant kindly) to acknowledge the influence of a young, handsome and as it turns out GUTSY new political leader (and no, I’m not talking about dancing girl Justine Trudeau ;)) I mean the new Austrian Chancellor, Sebastian Kurz. The new Austrian Leader team, modern and courageous in that they keep their election promises unlike their predecessors, does inspire the more timid leaders.

    5. And lastly (I never promised objectivity ! ) I think we owe a big thank you to The Donald – he took the shine off the ageing, sell-out daughters of Clergy, such as Merkel and May and their global counterparts like Hillary, in a very short time.

Good night friends and thank you for indulging a native of Bavaria.

  25. Billionaire Slim, America Movil, could profit from election of Mexican leftist

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – Billionaire Carlos Slim has had harsh words for Mexico’s presidential frontrunner, saying recently he is “concerned and afraid” about what leftist Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador might do if elected.

But a victory by Lopez Obrador, who holds a double-digit lead in most polls before the July 1 vote, could provide upside for Slim’s fortunes, particularly with regard to his America Movil (AMXL.MX) telecommunications empire, Reuters interviews with a dozen close friends, partners and other people familiar with their dealings show.

Lopez Obrador’s pick for telecoms minister, Javier Jimenez, told Reuters he favors re-examining some regulations stemming from Mexico’s landmark 2014 telecommunications reform, a law that has clipped America Movil’s profits and inhibited its expansion.

That is because Slim’s company, which possesses the largest network in Mexico, could play a key role in delivering cell coverage to rural areas but complains current regulations hold it back.

Lopez Obrador has championed better connectivity for the nation’s impoverished farmers and indigenous people, who are some of his strongest supporters.

  27. Trump blasts migration in Europe as causing ‘culture’ change

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday blamed migrants in Europe for what he inaccurately described as a rise in crime in Germany and for violently changing the culture, adding that what was happening with immigration there presented a similar threats to the United States.

“The people of Germany are turning against their leadership as migration is rocking the already tenuous Berlin coalition. Crime in Germany is way up. Big mistake made all over Europe in allowing millions of people in who have so strongly and violently changed their culture!” Trump, said in a tweet.

Trump’s administration is facing strong criticism from rights activists, Democrats and some in his own Republican Party for separating children from their parents at the U.S.-Mexican border, a policy aimed at deterring illegal immigration.

Crime has fallen off dramatically in Germany, with the country’s internal ministry reporting last month that criminal offenses in Germany totaled 5.76 million in 2017, the lowest number since 1992, leading to the lowest crime rate for the country in more than 30 years.

Merkel’s open-door migrant policy is widely blamed for the rise of the right-wing AfD, now the main opposition party in Germany’s federal parliament. More than 1.6 million migrants, mostly Muslims fleeing wars in the Middle East, have arrived in Germany since 2014.

  28. Japan confronts risks of U.S. alliance based on dollars and deals, not values

TOKYO (Reuters) – Eighteen months after Donald Trump became U.S. president and started shaking up global diplomacy, Japan is waking up to the risks of an alliance based on dollars and deals rather than shared values and security interests.

For decades, U.S. and Japanese leaders have stressed that the two countries’ alliance was based on values such as democracy, freedom and the rule of law. One of Asia’s oldest security relationships, it placed Japan under a U.S. defense umbrella.

Trump’s summit last week with North Korean leader Kim Jung Un failed to address Japanese security concerns such as a missile program that Tokyo sees as a direct threat. Japan’s defense establishment was also taken aback by the U.S. president saying he would halt “expensive” military exercises with South Korea that have long been seen in Tokyo as a deterrent to North Korea’s threats.

“The alliance has changed from one based on shared values to a transactional alliance,” Katsuyuki Kawai, a ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) lawmaker who advises Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on foreign affairs, told Reuters.

“That is the reality now,” he said, stressing that this was his personal view, not that of the government

  30. Van kills one at Dutch music festival, driver turns himself in

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – A van struck four people at the Netherlands’ largest music festival in the early hours of Monday, killing one of them and injuring the others before driving off, police said.

Officers said it was not clear whether the van driver, who later turned himself in to the police, had hit the group at the Pinkpop event intentionally or by accident.

Prosecutor Daniele Weymar said at a press conference the suspect, a 34-year-old Dutchman from the city of Heerlen, not far from the concert, had called police himself and was taken into custody in Amsterdam, 220 km (140 miles) to the north.

The victims, three men and a woman, were all from either Heerlen or neighboring Landgraaf, where the concert took place. The fatal victim was a 35-year-old man from Heerlen.

The white van struck the concert-goers around 4 a.m. (0200 GMT), police said, four hours after the headline act, R&B artist Bruno Mars, had performed in front of 70,000 people.

  31. Dem rep: Splitting up families, detaining children ‘kept very quiet during Obama’ years
By Howard Portnoy June 18, 2018

On Saturday, Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar (D) appeared on “CNN Newsroom,” where he and host Fredricka Whitfield shared a moment of rare candor for the Left. Amid the barrage of accusations leveled at the Trump administration for its “never-before-seen” practice of tearing apart incoming alien families and claims that the children are “being marched away to showers” a la Hitler’s “Final Solution,” the pair calmly and rationally analyzed the situation at the border today. They also compared the current immigration crisis with the nearly identical one that obtained during the Obama years.

The money portion of the interview comes at the 0:34 mark in the video below, where Cuellar reacts to the many photos of caged children that have been alleged to show Trump’s inhumanity by admitting:

  32. Nearly 3 weeks after Samantha Bee fiasco, pathetic Kathy Griffin repeats her insult almost verbatim
By Ben Bowles June 18, 2018

Kathy Griffin’s fall is now complete. The disgraced entertainer who sabotaged her own career by posing for a photo with a bloody effigy of Donald Trump’s severed head has now committed the even more unforgivable shown biz sin of stealing material from a fellow would-be comedian.

When First Lady Melania Trump’s office released a statement Sunday acknowledging that “Mrs. Trump hates to see children separated from their families & hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together to achieve successful immigration reform,” Griffin saw this as an opportunity to win back the favor of her former fans by tweeting out something suitably crude. Unfortunately for her, the language she chose was dangerously close to Samantha Bee’s ugly four-letter attack on the president’s daughter, Ivanka. Griffin (who to add insult to self-inflicted injury managed to get the first lady’s name wrong) tweeted:

  33. It’s not only the FBI that has been guilty of political bias: This gov’t agency is also no fan of Trump
By Daily Caller News Foundation June 17, 2018

The head of a subdivision within the Executive Office of the President used social media to criticize and deride President Donald Trump, according to posts recently unearthed by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Matt Cutts worked at Google for 17 years as a distinguished engineer and now leads the United States Digital Service (USDS), which among many other goals tries to help federal agencies improve their information technology infrastructure. He referred to Trump when he was a Republican candidate for president as a “troll” in one tweet.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5854385/Birmingham-senior-gynaecologist-struck-groping-midwifes-bottom-delivered-twins.html

“A senior gynaecologist who groped a midwife’s bottom as she delivered twins has been struck off.

Khaled Ismail, 50, put his hand on the nurse as she waited for the second baby to arrive.

She was one of four junior colleagues he targeted over a three-year period.

They were left embarrassed and fearful of reporting him because of his senior position, a tribunal heard.

The midwife told how she felt a ‘slow but gradual pressure’ on her left bottom cheek so she shifted her weight on to her right foot to move away from him only for the same thing to happen again.

Ismail then moved his right leg so his inner thigh was pushing up against the back of her thigh, she said.

The doctor, who was consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Birmingham Women’s Hospital, denied touching the four junior colleagues in a sexually motivated manner.

But the hearing upheld the allegations, which happened between 2013 and 2015, and he was banned from the medical profession…”

  36. U.S. Far-Left Group SPLC To Pay Counter-Extremist Maajid Nawaz $3.3M Settlement Over Anti-Muslim ‘Hate List’ (breitbart, Jun 18, 2018)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/06/18/u-s-far-left-anti-hate-group-to-pay-maajid-nawaz-3-3-million-dollar-settlement-for-including-him-on-hate-list/

“The U.S. far-left “anti-hate” Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has agreed to pay anti-extremist British Muslim Maajid Nawaz a 3.3m dollar settlement after the group included him in a list of anti-Muslim extremists.

The settlement amount was announced by Mr Nawaz on Twitter Monday following a lawsuit brought against the group last year for including him on their “Field Guide to Anti-Muslim Extremists.”

Nawaz included a press release from the anti-extremist Quilliam group which he co-founded that said not only was the SPLC paying Nawaz and Quilliam $3.375 million U.S. dollars but also formally apologized to Nawaz for including him on their “hate list.”

The statement adds that SPLC president Richard Cohen said, ” Mr Nawaz and Quilliam have made valuable and important contributions to public discourse, including by promoting pluralism and condemning both anti-Muslim bigotry and Islamic extremism.”

Last year Nawaz commented on the motivation behind the lawsuit saying, “The Southern Poverty Law Center, or SPLC, who made their money suing the KKK, was set up to defend people like me but now have become the monster they have claimed they wanted to defeat.”

“Placing my name on a list like this not only smears my name but also puts me in physical danger,” he added.

The fear of physical danger is not unwarranted as a case in 2012 proved when a man named Floyd Lee Corkins III used an SPLC hate-list as a guide when he broke into Family Research Council (FRC) offices with the intent of killing everyone in the office.

Corkins later admitted in a videotaped interview that he used the SPLC list to choose his target.

Following the announcement of victory in the lawsuit Nawaz first wrote on Twitter, “I don’t fuck around,” and later released a video calling on the SPLC to work with Quilliam in order to combat far-right extremism, far-left extremism and Islamic extremism…”

  37. After nearly two decades of gang involvement, Tahaij Wells, 32, was released from prison on “homicide-related charges” only four months before he and Amir “Mir” Armstrong, 23, became the suspected gunmen at the Art All Night festival in Trenton on Sunday. Wells was shot and killed in the gunfire, while Armstrong was arrested in the tragedy in which 17 people were shot.

In interviews held after Gov. Phil Murphy spoke from a Trenton church, Mayor-elect Reed Gusciora said the shooting appears to be a turf war between neighborhood gangs. He and Jerell Blakeley, who was recently elected councilman-at-large, said authorities are investigating a Facebook post that said: “Please. Please. Please. Do Not Go to the Art All Night. They will be shooting it up.”
