    • This is what irritates the liberals the most, Trump is busy removing the Fascist regulations that were strangling the private sector. The government imposing so many regulations on private industry is why the US economy slowed down to the point where people think a 3% grow rate is doing good. For most of my live a 3% growth rate was considered a sign of a bad economy.

    The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) wants to track the vast networks of journalists, bloggers and other “media influencers” through a massive, searchable database that will allow them to monitor “any and all” trends in real time, according to a publicly posted job listing.

    Apparently the NSA doesn’t share their toys with DHS…

    The DHS “Media Monitoring” initiative is currently seeking a contractor who can provide DHS with the ability to track over 290,000 global news sources in more than 100 languages – including online, print, bradcast, cable, radio, trade and industry publications, traditional news sources and social media platforms.

    “Services shall provide media comparison tools, design and rebranding tools, communication tools, and the ability to identify top media influencers,” according to the job call, in order to help DHS agencies fulfill “a critical need to incorporate these functions into their programs in order to better reach federal, state, local, tribal, and private partners.”

    The department’s “Statement of Work for Media Monitoring Services” requires the following:

    Online & Social Media Monitoring

    Ability to track global online sources for coverage relevant to Washington and the six media hubs:
    • Ability to track > 290,000 global news sources
    • Ability to track online, print, broadcast, cable, radio, trade and industry publications, local sources, national/international outlets, traditional news sources, and social media
    • Ability to track media coverage in > 100 languages, including Arabic, Chinese and Russian. Translation function to instantly translate these articles to English.
    • Ability to create up to 20 searches with each unlimited keywords
    • Unlimited coverage per search (no cap on coverage)
    • Ability to change the searches at keywords at any given time
    • Ability to create unlimited data tracking, statistical breakdown, and graphical analyses on any coverage on an ad-hoc basis

    Database of journalists, editors, correspondents, social media influencers, bloggers, etc.

    The chosen contractor must be able to develop a “password protected, media influencer database” which can perform searches in various languages, and present contact details and any other information that could be relevat, including publications that this influencer writes for, and an overview of the previous cvoverage published by the media influencer.”

    Media Intelligence and Benchmarking Dashboard Platform

    The vendor must provide a specialized “Dashboard” for DHS to use which will provide them with a specialized search engine, real time monitoring, analysis and benchmark of media coverage (how viral something is going, for example), geographical spread, and top influencers.

    24/7 Access to a password protected, online platform for users to access:
    • Overview of search results in terms of online articles and social media conversations
    • Customized and Interactive Dashboard that provide real-time monitoring, analysis, and benchmark of media coverage.
    • Ability to analyze the media coverage in terms of content, volume, sentiment, geographical spread, top publications, media channels, reach, AVE, top posters, influencers, languages, momentum, circulation.
    • Ability to select time-period of analysis: per day, week, month, and selected dates
    • Ability to build media lists based on beat, location, outlet type/size, and journalist role
    • Automated weekly overview of these dashboards sent via email

    Mobile App

    DHS also requires access to a “password protected, mobile app” allowing access to all of the collected metrics and monitoring information.

    No word on whether DHS has commissioned a database of MSM connections to establishment politicians, but we’re sure that’s on its way.

    DHS calls critics “conspiracy theorists”

    In response to what many suggest are Orwellian monitoring of media influencers, DHS Press Secretary Tyler Houlton issued a response on Friday which justifies the program’s legitimacy and alleges that the project’s goals are “standard practice.”

    “Any suggestion otherwise is fit for tinfoil hat-wearing, black-helicopter conspiracy theorists,” added Houlton.

    Absent blindly trusting Houlton, we’ve been given no indication as to how the Trump administration – or future administrations, might use the massive tracking database.

    The Bloomberg article points to the Senate’s recent interest in designating Al Jazeera as a foreign agent ” because it “often directly undermines” U.S. interests with favorable coverage of Hamas, Hezbollah and al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria,” however we’re sure the U.S. government could monitor specific platforms-of-interest without a massive database of every outlet’s past and present body of work.

  12. Paul Manafort, the former chairman of President Trump’s 2016 campaign, has asked a federal judge to throw out all evidence in his criminal trial that was obtained when the FBI searched a storage unit that contained materials related to work by him and Rick Gates in Ukraine.

    Manafort’s lawyers on Friday issued a motion to suppress evidence, which would disallow special counsel Robert Mueller from using the evidence from the Alexandria, Va.-based storage unit.

    “The evidence obtained from the government’s search of the storage unit should be suppressed,” said the lawyers in the motion.

    The DOJ has a copy as well.

    The FISA courts released their copy to the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, which is where we got the Nunes Memo, and an additional investigation of these potential FISA Court abuses started by the Inspector General Mike Horrowitz.

    The DOJ has been refusing to release their copy of the application to the Committees…..until now. Until the right time.

    Why is it so important to get a copy of a document you already have?

    The FISA Court’s copy of the FISA application for the wiretapping of Carter Page (Trump) was ALTERED before it was released to the House and Senate Intelligence Committees.

  20. A student gravely wounded while saving his classmates’ lives by blocking a door during the Florida school massacre said Friday that the county sheriff and school superintendent failed the victims by not arresting the shooter before the attack and by allowing him to attend the school.

    An attorney for 15-year-old Anthony Borges read a statement from him during a news conference criticizing Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel and Superintendent Robert Runcie for the Feb. 14 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland that killed 14 students and three staff members.

    Borges was shot five times, suffering wounds to the lungs, abdomen and legs. He was released from a Fort Lauderdale hospital Wednesday morning, the last of the 17 wounded to go home.

Yeah, bipartisanship is dead, so mob rule is what’s needed.   31. (CNN)ISIS has claimed responsibility for an attack which killed four Christians in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Easter Monday.

    An Islamic State press statement released on Tuesday said that a “covert unit” of ISIS militants “managed to target a number of the combatant Christians.”
    The statement adds that the militants “shot them with a pistol, which resulted in the killing of four of them, and all praise is due to Allah”
    The shooting, which targeted a single family, occurred in the western city of Quetta, the provincial capital.

    ROCKFORD, Ill. — Authorities say three people are dead after a shooting on a charter bus in Rockford Sunday morning, CBS affiliate WIFR reports. The suspect remains at large.

    Police responded to the scene around 3:30 Saturday morning after reports that several were shot. When police arrived, they discovered three bodies inside a private charter bus that was rented out Friday.

    Police said the suspect was a passenger on the bus and said the shooting took place near Auburn Street and Johnston Avenue. The driver then drove to Springfield Avenue where the driver called police and met with officers.

    “Obviously there’s an individual out there who has killed three people and we need to apprehend (that) individual,” Rockford police Chief Dan O’Shea said, according to the Rockford Register Star.

    When officers arrived at the store after reports of a fire, they saw a destructive device inside and a possible suspect fleeing in a vehicle, said Cpl. Eric Quinones with the Ontario Police Department. Employees used fire extinguishers to put out the flames.

    A witness pointed out the suspect — later identified as Fontana resident Hugo Gonzalez, 49 — to authorities.

    Officers tried to stop the man, but he refused to pull over. After a short pursuit, officers detained the man and questioned him.

    Al-Shuraim had posted comments about political and social issues in the Kingdom and criticised what he believes are violations of Islamic teachings.

    The Imam was born in Riyadh in 1964. He has held several senior academic positions, including the Dean and Specialist Professor at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah. He is also a judge at the High Court in the Holy City.

    His fellow Imam at the Grand Mosque, which houses the Sacred Kaaba, is Sheikh Abdul Rahman As-Sudais, who is loyal to the policies of the Saudi royal family. While Al-Shuraim has been praised by Muslims within and beyond the Kingdom over his courageous stances, Al-Sudais has been criticised for his “blind” support for the ruling House of Saud, which is regarded by many as irreligious.”

    “March saw a slight uptick in terror attacks from the previous month where 25 attacks across the country left at least 37 people dead and 55 others injured.

    This was disclosed in a monthly terrorism report compiled by the Pakistan Institute of Policy Sciences (PIPS) released on Friday.

    PIPS said that the 25 attacks had claimed 37 lives, including 19 civilians, 14 policemen, two personnel of the Frontier Constabulary and two militants.

    Of the attacks, 13 attacks, or 52 per cent of the total, had targeted security personnel and law enforcement agencies.

    In February, the report said, as many as 24 attacks had taken place which had claimed 38 lives. Around 42 per cent of the attacks had targeted security and law enforcement personnel.

    Among those killed in these attacks, 13 were army officials, 12 were civilians, eight were FC troops, and three policemen, besides two militants.

    The report noted that as in recent months, March also saw the most terrorist attacks reported from Balochistan where as many as 13 terrorist attacks in the province claimed 15 lives and injured many others.
