In exchange for instant coms and info we are spied on. Also we are lied to by politically-influenced data searches. Our Info will be often tainted. Rich captains of technological industry–wizards at math and science–expose themselves as post modern political Neanderthals.
It is time to reverse the roles. The predators must become prey. Some years ago I told my Russian friend that the only way to protect oneself was to go back to paper. She laughed at my naivete.
I understand a lot of the smaller nations are going back to paper, everyone with any sense of self preservation should do this as much as possible. This won’t stop the Government and Corporate spying but it will make them work harder.
The ‘paperless office’ used to be the Holy Grail.
Those most enthusiastic about it years ago are convinced it’s a bad idea today. I’m hearing more paranoia than anything else.

Little Snitch is pretty convincing. Some odd Apple notifications, a lonely, puzzled bot. But I’m keeping track of every byte, and nothing’s missing or misplaced.
It’s slow blocking this much content, but I feel in control. The scale of intrusion, so many disparate entities hopping on for a ride! Some websites are filled with so much obligatory junk, they’re no longer welcome on my machine.
I blocked the ‘laptop call home’ thing Apple built in. They must think its off. No more iCloud so far, and no sign in to Apple. The two Snitches are good. Almost ready to take the bandage off the camera.
No ‘call home’ for me either.
Keep the band-aid. If there’s redundancy in surveillance tactics, it might revert to the older technology.
These devices are the new educators of the new generation. Think a society where such device is in every home…Think the children and young. They have no chance to a real education and source of information.
The future is totally … “Alexa”
I wouldn’t touch Siri, an addictive gateway drug.
Wiki has gone left, further all the time. For example, the entry for “anthropology” has so many qualifiers, fughedditaboudit…
Now Alexa is a communist. Totally.
I’d say she should be outed, but that would only make her more attractive to the delusional progressive.
