As the national elections in Germany are just 10 days away, Angela Merkel’s CDU are wooing Turkish voters: 25 € more child benefits per child per month.
In the Federal election of 2013, of the Turks who are eligible to vote in German elections, 64% had voted for the Social Democrats, which converts to a 425,000 votes. 12% had voted for The Greens, another 12% for The Left, – both, according to representative surveys, for those parties’ views on migration and citizenship – and only 7% voted CDU/CSU.
A new party especially aiming at Turks will be competing for the first time: the ADD; see our report here: ADD: A Vote for Germany’s Future.
The left always buys votes but normally not as openly as she is doing.
