Exclusive: DOJ let Russian lawyer into US before she met with Trump team
The Russian lawyer who penetrated Donald Trump’s inner circle was initially cleared into the United States by the Justice Department under “extraordinary circumstances” before she embarked on a lobbying campaign last year that ensnared the president’s eldest son, members of Congress, journalists and State Department officials, according to court and Justice Department documents and interviews.
This revelation means it was the Obama Justice Department that enabled the newest and most intriguing figure in the Russia-Trump investigation to enter the country without a visa.
Later, a series of events between an intermediary for the attorney and the Trump campaign ultimately led to the controversy surrounding the president’s eldest son.

US hits 50,000 refugee cap, but some others still allowed in
WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. has reached the Trump administration’s limit of 50,000 refugees for this budget year. That won’t stop some additional refugees from entering the United States in the next few months, but they will now face tighter standards.
A Supreme Court order last month said the administration must admit refugees beyond the 50,000 cap if they can prove a “bona fide relationship” with a person or entity in the United States. That was part of a broader ruling that allowed President Donald Trump to partially administer his contested travel ban affecting six Muslim majority countries.

Chinese trade with North Korea jumped 10.5% in the first half of this year, according to China Customs data
China’s imports from North Korea dropped 13.2 percent in January-to-June to $880 million, data from Chinese customs showed on Thursday.
Exports to North Korea rose 29.1 percent to $1.67 billion during the period, the data showed.
China’s trade with North Korea expanded by 10.5 percent to $2.55 billion in the six months.
The exports were largely driven by textile products and other traditional labor-intensive goods that are not included on the United Nations embargo list, Huang Songping, a customs spokesman, said at a briefing in Beijing.

Chinese Warships Begin Live Fire Drills in Mediterranean Sea
Chinese warships are conducting live fire drills in the Mediterranean Sea.
This as they make their way to Russia in preparation for cooperative exercises with the Russian navy.
The two countries will take part in the Joint sea 2017 exercises in waters off the Russian coast.
China says it is working hard to become a major naval power.
China has become increasingly active in the Mediterranean as the latest drills correspond with the departure of warships headed for the nation’s new military base in Djibouti.

Richard: Pay close attention to this and the future actions of China and Russia, they are telling President Trump that they are allies and will stand together if one is attacked. What they will do when we are forced to move on North Korea is still up in the air but will probably be something unexpected. Both may, proably will limit their actions in Korea to shipping Kim more equipment to replace what they are losing. Hopefully it will be more of the same old worn out crap that is most of what North Korea currently has.
Remember China has at least one Naval base in East Africa and wants more in North Africa and in West Africa. The Chinese Empire is turning to look outside its borders for the first time in Centuries and the rest of us need to pay close attention to what is happening because this is a threat to what use to be the free world.
One of the private space companies are planning on moving a nickle iron asteroid into earth orbit and mine it. With Russia and China busy moving in on the mineral rich areas on earth we need to move into space to acquire the minerals a modern technological society requires. This will have many advantages for us, including making the mineral deposits on earth less valuable and freeing the US and our allies from the blackmail of the people holding those earthly deposits.
North Korea’s bomb program under 3 generations of Kim family (abcnews, Jul 13, 2017)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/north-koreas-bomb-program-generations-kim-family-48608284
“After his country’s first test-firing of an intercontinental ballistic missile last week, North Korea’s young leader, Kim Jong Un, has moved one step closer to perfecting a nuclear missile capable of reaching the United States, a weapons program launched by his grandfather and nurtured by his father.
For nearly 70 years, the three generations of the Kim family have run North Korea with an absolute rule that tolerates no dissent. They have devoted much of the country’s scarce resources to its military but have constantly feared Washington is intent on destroying their dynastic rule. They concluded that a powerful nuclear deterrent against potential U.S. aggression would guarantee their survival.
A look at how North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs have evolved under each of the three Kims.
———
THE PATRIARCH: KIM IL SUNG (1948-1994)
1948: Kim Il Sung, a former guerrilla leader fighting against Japan’s colonial rule, establishes the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in the northern half of the Korean Peninsula.
1950: Kim’s army invades South Korea, triggering the three-year Korean War. The United States fights alongside South Korea while China backs North Korea.
1985: North Korea joins the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty. But the country doesn’t allow inspections required by the pact, arousing suspicions that it’s engaging in clandestine work to develop atomic weapons.
1993: North Korea announces its withdrawal from the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, touching off an international nuclear crisis.
July 1994: Kim Il Sung dies of a heart attack at age 82. His son and longtime heir apparent, Kim Jong Il, takes power.
———
THE SON: KIM JONG IL (1994-2011)
October 1994: North Korea and the United States sign a landmark nuclear disarmament deal in Geneva. North Korea pledges to freeze and eventually dismantle its nuclear weapons program in exchange for international aid to build two power-producing nuclear reactors.
1998: North Korea stuns the region by firing a suspected missile over Japan and into the Pacific Ocean.
2002: Assistant U.S. Secretary of State James Kelly says North Korean officials admitted to having a secret nuclear weapons program during his visit to Pyongyang. The 1994 pact subsequently falls apart and a nuclear crisis flares again.
2003: North Korea attends Beijing-hosted disarmament talks that also involve Washington, Seoul, Tokyo and Moscow. The on-and-off talks continue until late 2008, producing two major now-stalled disarmament-for-aid deals.
July 2006: North Korea launches a three-stage rocket with a potential range of 6,700 kilometers (4,100 miles) but it fizzles after liftoff, according to U.S. and South Korean officials. North Korea has never acknowledged the launch.
October 2006: North Korea conducts its first underground nuclear test blast, citing “extreme threat of a nuclear war” from the United States.
2009: North Korea conducts its second nuclear test explosion.
2011: Kim Jong Il dies of a heart attack at 69. Kim’s youngest son, Kim Jong Un, succeeds him as leader.
———
THE GRANDSON: KIM JONG UN (2011-present)
2012: North Korea puts a satellite in orbit with a long-range rocket. The United States, South Korea and others condemn the launch as a cover for testing long-range missile technology. It is the North’s first successful satellite launch.
2013: North Korea carries out its third nuclear test.
January 2016: North Korea says it has conducted a hydrogen bomb test. It’s the North’s fourth nuclear test, but many outsiders are skeptical that it was a hydrogen bomb explosion.
February 2016: North Korea succeeds in its second satellite launch.
August 2016: North Korea fires a ballistic missile from a submarine that flies 500 kilometers (310 miles) before crashing into waters near Japan. Missiles launched from submarines are generally harder to detect than land-based ones.
September 2016: North Korea stages its fifth nuclear test, its most powerful atomic bomb explosion to date.
February 2017: North Korea tests a new midrange ballistic missile, the Pukguksong-2. It says the missile used solid fuel, an advance that increases a weapon’s mobility and makes it harder for outsiders to detect a coming launch. The North tests this missile again in May.
July 4, 2017: North Korea test-fires its first ICBM at an extremely lofted angle. The missile, called Hwasong-14, is capable of reaching Alaska and beyond if launched at a normal trajectory, according to outside experts. After the launch, Kim says he won’t put his weapons programs on the negotiating table unless the United States ends its hostility and nuclear threat.”

Reminder: Debunked ‘warming’ data was used by EPA to impose billions in costs on U.S. economy
By J.E. Dyer July 13, 2017
Many readers will have already seen one of the numerous reports about a recent study by two climate scientists and a statistician, which demonstrates that the three sets of “adjusted” temperature data used by climate alarmists are “totally inconsistent with published and credible U.S. and other temperature data.”
James Delingpole’s is one of these reports. In it, he highlights the major finding of the study that the adjustments done to the NASA, NOAA, and UK’s University of East Anglia Hadley Climate Research Unit (Hadley CRU) data sets are obviously tendentious.
The adjustments have been done to make earlier temperature periods look cooler than they actually were, and to make recent warmer periods look warmer than they actually were. The result produces an exaggerated appearance of seminal “warming” in recent decades.
Once more, to be clear: the study’s researchers had access to the raw data, and compared it with the adjusted data in the NASA, NOAA, and Hadley CRU data sets. What they found was that the adjustments accounted for virtually all of the “warming.”
Delingpole quotes meteorologist Joe D’Aleo, one of the researchers:

Houthi Insurgents Accused of Selling Free Cholera Medicines (aawsat, Jul 13, 2017)
https://english.aawsat.com/a-alghabiri/news-middle-east/houthi-insurgents-accused-selling-free-cholera-medicines
“Jeddah- The local administration of the legitimate government in Yemen has monitored the involvement of the Houthi rebels in selling free medicines provided by Saudi Arabia and the UAE for cholera patients in the areas under their control, mainly in Sana’a.
It called on all international organizations concerned with monitoring the humanitarian situation in Yemen to work on monitoring the performance of the Houthi rebels and to ensure that they do not trade with the conditions of people living in areas under their control.
Yemen’s Minister of Local Administration Abdel-Raqib Fath strongly condemned the trading in the medicines of the cholera epidemic, selling them in the black market in Hodeidah, Hajja, Ibb and Dhamar provinces and depriving patients from obtaining them.
The Yemeni Minister called on the Executive Committee on Humanitarian Affairs (ECHA) in the World Health Organization, the UNICEF and other international agencies to monitor the performance of armed Houthi militias in areas under their control and their acts of selling free-of-charge treatments to cholera patients…”
Militants find sanctuary in Libya’s wild south (abcnews, Jul 13, 2017)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/militants-find-sanctuary-libyas-wild-south-48606581
“A series of military victories over extremist Islamic groups along Libya’s Mediterranean coastline has forced hundreds of militants, including Islamic State fighters, to seek refuge in the vast deserts of the North African nation, already home to militias from neighboring countries, cross-border criminal gangs and mercenaries.
Libya’s lawless, desolate center and south provides a sanctuary for militants to reorganize, recruit, train and potentially plot for a comeback. That is especially important at a time when the Islamic State group lost not only its urban holdings in Libya but is crumbling in Iraq and Syria.
In Libya’s remote stretches near the borders with Egypt, Sudan, Chad, Algeria, Niger and Tunisia, multiple armed groups already operate freely. Arms are easily available. Human trafficking and cross-border smuggling, especially fuel, are rampant and lucrative.
Lack of effective border controls has allowed militiamen fighting the Sudanese and Chadian governments to set up camp inside Libya. Alongside them came soldiers-for-hire from places as far afield as Cameroon. Tribal and ethnic rivalries frequently boil over into deadly strife.
Militants “travel back and forth near the southern borders and all the way to the central parts of the country, robbing travelling cars and attacking civilians,” said Brig. Gen. Abdullah Nouredeen of the Libyan National Army. “They sometimes work close to the borders since there is money to be made from smuggling and arms trading.”
The migration of the militants comes after rivals drove them out of coastal cities like Sirte, Benghazi, Sebratha and Derna. Their dispersion into the desert undermines prospects for a return of stability in oil-rich Libya.
Claudia Gazzini, the International Crisis Group’s senior Libya analyst, said IS militants were generally lying low in the desert south of the coastline, moving in small convoys so as not to attract attention or just going home. Others, she explained, were active around Sirte, staging occasional attacks against their adversaries.
Going forward, she said, IS remnants will likely try to influence and win over groups opposed to Gen. Khalifa Hifter, the Egyptian-backed commander of Libya’s national army who has been fighting militants.
“We are already seeing signs that this may have already happened,” she said.
Sensing danger, Egypt has begun to closely monitor its borders with Sudan and Libya, fearing the area could turn into a major staging ground for attacks inside its territory. Egypt has said IS militants fighting its security forces in the Sinai Peninsula receive arms and fighters from Libya. It said militants behind recent deadly attacks against Christians were trained in Libya and sneaked into Egypt across the porous desert border.
Like the rest of Libya, the desert towns and villages in the country’s central and southern regions have seen law and order vanish since the 2011 ouster and death of dictator Moammar Gadhafi. Across the country, militias — many of them with Islamist ideologies — have carved out fiefdoms, imposing their will on local administrations.
Some estimates put the number of full-time militiamen in Libya at around 120,000 and IS fighters around 1,000, but there is no way to independently verify these figures.
Gen. Hifter has sought to drive out Islamic militants and bring the center and south under his control — but with limited success. He said he intends to seal off Libya’s borders with Egypt, Sudan and Chad by early July to stop the flow of arms, fighters and migrants.
It is widely believed, however, that his forces don’t have the resources to enforce order in the vast region or take on the hardened militants and militiamen there…”

Rights group: Iraq moves IS-linked suspects to closed camp (abcnews, Jul 13, 2017)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/hrw-iraq-relocates-alleged-linked-people-closed-camp-48608931
“Iraqi security forces have forcibly moved dozens of women and children with alleged links to the Islamic State group to a tent camp near Mosul that authorities describe as a “rehabilitation camp” for IS suspects’ families, Human Rights Watch said on Thursday.
The camp is located in Bartella, around 20 kilometers (12 miles) east of Mosul, and houses at least 170 families, mostly women and children from areas of western Mosul, where the last battles against IS took place before the city was declared liberated earlier this week, the New York-based group said.
The camp was opened on Sunday, following a directive from Mosul’s district council that says “so-called ISIS families should be sent to receive psychological and ideological rehabilitation,” HRW said, using an alternative acronym for IS.
Citing interviews with some families, HRW says they were brought against their will because of accusations that they had relatives linked to IS.
“Iraqi authorities shouldn’t punish entire families because of their relatives’ actions,” said Lama Fakih, the Mideast deputy chief at HRW. “These abusive acts are war crimes and are sabotaging efforts to promote reconciliation in areas retaken from ISIS,” Fakih added.
HRW said the camp had a mobile medical clinic, but only very limited humanitarian services, with no schools, training, or other programs. At least 10 women and children died traveling to or at the camp, most of them because of dehydration, HRW added, citing medical workers at the site.
Iraqi officials told HRW that a committee will screen the families to allow those with no links to IS to leave.
The statement also warned that local authorities and tribal leaders issued calls for eviction to IS-linked families “in tandem with grenade and other attacks on the families, as well as threatening letters and demands to deny these families humanitarian assistance.”
Mosul was captured by the militant group in June 2014.
Iraq’s Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared “total victory” in Mosul on Monday, after nearly a nine-month-long military operation backed by the U.S.-led coalition.”
2 female suicide bombers in Cameroon kill at least 15 (abcnews, Jul 13, 2017)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/suicide-attack-northern-cameroon-kills-15-48609206
“At least 15 people are dead after two female suicide bombers carried out the latest attack in Cameroon’s far north, the government said Thursday, and another 42 people are wounded.
The attackers entered the town of Waza late Wednesday and one detonated explosives near a group of youths, Governor Midjiyawa Bakary said.
Nigeria-based Boko Haram extremists have been crossing borders to stage attacks in countries, including Cameroon, that contribute to a military force that seeks to eliminate the insurgency. The Islamic extremists have killed more than 20,000 people in their eight-year existence and abducted thousands of others.
Boko Haram increasingly has used girls and young women to carry out attacks on marketplaces, checkpoints and other targets. Some young women who escaped the extremist group have said girls are drugged and forced to carry out suicide missions.
The attacks in Cameroon’s far north, the poorest part of the country, have been a factor in sending more than 13,000 Nigerian refugees who had fled Boko Haram back to their own nation since mid-April.
The suicide attacks, roadside bombings and raids on villages also have been “complicating humanitarian operations and subjecting civilians to persistent danger,” the U.N. humanitarian agency said earlier this week…”
Russia slowly seizing more and more territory in Georgia
By LU Staff July 12, 2017
As the world continues to focus on the ongoing conflict in Syria and the investigations into the Trump campaign, Russia seized a portion of internationally-recognized territory in Georgia.
The land seizure was bloodless and silent, with Russian troops moving an “administrative boundary line” approximately 700 meters deeper into Georgian territory. They then placed green warning signs along the new supposed border. Russia’s move essentially seized 10 hectares (about 25 acres) worth of Georgian territory, according to a Yahoo News report.
Russian forces have occupied South Ossetia since 2008, when Russia and Georgia engaged in a war over the region. The international community generally agrees that South Ossetia is occupied territory that rightfully belongs to Georgia.
These “salami tactics” have been going on for years, according to Russia analyst and blogger Brian Whitmore. Russian forces are now less than a mile from a major highway linking the Azerbaijani capital of Baku and Poti and Batumi, two Georgian ports. The highway is considered “one of the main transportation arteries in the South Caucuses, said Whitmore in a video for The Daily Vertical published Tuesday. The move could allow Russian forces to threaten Georgia’s infrastructure should conflict flare up again.
Georgia’s government decried Russia’s move as illegal.

Sweden cracks down on illegal immigrants after failed asylum-seeker kills 5 people (express, Jul 13, 2017)
http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/828207/Sweden-crack-down-illegal-immigrants-asylum-seeker-kills-5
“SWEDEN has intensified its crackdown on illegal immigrants after a failed asylum-seeker killed five people in Stockholm, but the move has raised concerns that more migrants will be driven underground to join a shadowy underclass.
In the past months, police have staged wider sweeps on workplaces to check papers, netting undocumented workers, sending a warning to employers and sparking heated debate in a nation that has been traditionally tolerant to migrants.
In May, police carried out their biggest raid so far when dozens of officers swooped on a constructions site in Stockholm.
Nine were caught and sent to detention centres, while another 40 escaped by scrambling onto scaffolding and across roof tops.
Swedish authorities had already started to tighten up on illegal immigrants, but police stepped up their activities after Uzbek construction worker Rakhmat Akilov drove into Stockholm shoppers in April.
“We have an unlimited amount of work,” said Jerk Wiberg, who leads the Stockholm police unit in charge of domestic border controls.
A 22-year veteran who has caught thousands of illegal immigrants, Wiberg led the raid at the construction site in May.
After Akilov became another militant in Europe to use a truck as a weapon, Prime Minister Stefan Lofven made it clear that “no means no” for those whose asylum bids are rejected. Akilov, whose lawyer said he had admitted to committing the crime, had been in hiding after his asylum request was denied.
The Migration Agency estimated 10,000 asylum-seekers a year will choose to disappear rather than be deported. Up to 50,000 undocumented immigrants already work in hotels, transport, construction and restaurants, the agency said last year.
Migration Minister Morgan Johansson said that a “dual labour market … where a growing group lives on the outside of society and remains in Sweden” after having been denied residency was unacceptable.
“It also increases the risk of them being exploited. We cannot have it that way,” he said, adding: “One way is to go after the employers … (using) expanded workplace checks.”
While cheap migrant labour is welcomed by some small businesses, government officials and economists worry that the shadow economy undercuts Sweden’s economic model, whose generous welfare provisions and high wages are built on high rates of productivity and one of the world’s heaviest tax regimes.
Tough measures against immigrants go against the grain for many in Sweden, a country of 10 million which once called itself “a humanitarian superpower” that generously welcomed migrants fleeing conflict in the Middle East and Africa…”
Turkey detains 44 people suspected of planning attacks (abcnews, Jul 13, 2017)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/turkey-detains-44-people-suspected-planning-attacks-48606905
“A Turkish official says 44 people suspected of planning terror attacks linked to Kurdish militants have been detained in police operations, including suspects in two separate Istanbul attacks last year.
Istanbul governor Vasip Sahin said Thursday one of the detainees is suspected of organizing a December attack near a football stadium, killing 46 people. The governor said the man left the bomb-laden vehicle at the last minute.
Another is allegedly the organizer of a car bomb attack on a bus carrying riot police last June that killed 11.
The outlawed Kurdistan Freedom Falcons, an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party or PKK, had claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Sahin said the operations into the Kurdish militants’ “special forces cell” in Istanbul and four other provinces saved the city from “serious and sensational attacks.””
UAE: Al-Jazeera Has Gone Beyond Incitement to Hostility, Violence (aawsat, Jul 13, 2017)
https://english.aawsat.com/theaawsat/news-middle-east/uae-al-jazeera-gone-beyond-incitement-hostility-violence
“Abu Dhabi- UAE has accused al-Jazeera TV station of spreading sectarianism and promoting violence and anti-Semitism in response to UN’s refusal to call on the Arab countries that have boycotted Doha to shut the channel.
UAE Dr. Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, sent a letter to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein, addressing his country’s concerns that the Doha-based network promotes extremist ideologies.
The letter highlighted how al-Jazeera has promoted anti-Semitic violence by broadcasting sermons by spiritual leader of Muslim Brotherhood Yusuf al-Qaradawi in which he praised Hitler, described the Holocaust as “divine punishment” and called on Allah to “take this oppressive, Jewish, Zionist band of people and kill them, down to the very last one.”
“While the protection of the right of freedom of expression is of fundamental importance, this protection is not absolute, and restrictions on the right are permitted under the international law to protect national security and public order,” said Gargash in his letter sent.
“Freedom of expression cannot be used to justify and shield the promotion of extremist narratives,” the letter notes.
The minister recalled UN Security Council Resolution 1624 (2005), a historic resolution that focused on messages that often precede acts of terrorism and called on states to prohibit and prevent incitement to commit terrorist acts.
The letter referred to the Joint Declaration on Freedom of Expression and Countering Violent Extremism adopted by the special rapporteur and several regional and human rights bodies.
It recognized that states may restrict reporting that is intended to incite imminent violence, and there is a direct and immediate connection between the reporting and the likelihood or occurrence of such violence.
In this regard, the letter makes clear that al-Jazeera’s reporting has repeatedly crossed the threshold of incitement to hostility, violence and discrimination, and lists several examples of such content…”

Nice attack: Prosecutor calls for ban on Paris Match photos (BBC, Jul 13, 2017)
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-40591978
“The Paris prosecutor has called for Paris Match magazine to be pulled from newsstands after it published CCTV images of the 14 July attack in Nice.
A lorry killed 86 people when it drove into crowds celebrating Bastille Day.
The publication of the images has angered a victims’ group, which accused the magazine of morbid sensationalism.
The magazine was still on sale on Thursday afternoon as both sides appeared in court to make their arguments before a judge.
The prosecutor asked the court to “order the (magazine’s) withdrawal from sale” as well as a “ban on publication in all formats, particularly online”.
A decision is expected later in the evening.
The mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, earlier criticised Paris Match for publishing the images on the eve of the first anniversary of the attack…”

France: Prosecutor demands withdrawal of ‘Paris Match’ magazine over Nice attack images
The Paris prosecutor requested a ban on the sale of the latest edition of Paris Match magazine, Thursday, after it published surveillance camera images of the Nice terrorist attack.
Francois Molins, the Paris state prosecutor, said the images represented an “attack on the dignity of the victims and of their relatives”.
French court bans ‘obscene’ Nice attack photos (france24, Jul 14, 2017)

“A French court Thursday banned a magazine from republishing images from last year’s Bastille Day attack that killed 86 people in Nice, but ignored calls to pull the issue from news stands.
Victims’ groups had accused Paris Match of sensationalising the assault — which saw a Tunisian Islamist radical drive a truck into a crowd watching fireworks on the beachfront — by publishing screen grabs from surveillance cameras.
The Paris prosecutor demanded the withdrawal of the magazine’s current edition, but the Thursday ruling was restricted to two images that judges deemed an “attack on human dignity”.
It banned any new publication of these photos and their online distribution.
The court said the pictures were “obscene for showing people fleeing to escape death or about to die”…”

Lying Traitor Dan Rather Questions Trump Ethics, Patriotism
July 13, 2017
Daniel Greenfield
The media’s ethics are a joke. If anyone needed convincing of that, the rehabilitation of Dan Rather and his Time Traveling Vietnam War Computer is the perfect case in point.
I don’t think that we need to rehash Rather’s lack of ethics. He has kept defending his infamous Fake News story despite the minor problem of its utter untruthfulness because it was a convenient way to attack President Bush. But let’s revisit Rather’s patriotism.
Dan Rather’s campaign against Bush had a number of low points. We remember the fake documents that turned out to have been the product of Microsoft Word… long before its existence. But then there was Rather’s interview with Saddam Hussein. The interview was a pre-war push to undermine the US effort against Saddam Hussein.
Now the media has Rather on to discuss ethics and patriotism. Who better to discuss patriotism and ethics than a liar and a traitor?

UCLA Purges Professor Keith Fink
Campus remains hostile to free speech, conservatives.
July 13, 2017
Lloyd Billingsley
UCLA basketball coach John Wooden won ten NCAA championships in 12 years, including seven in a row. Those days are long gone but UCLA is now a leader in hostility to conservatives and free speech. Consider UCLA’s campaign against professor Keith Fink, an academic John Wooden who as a UCLA student won three consecutive National Collegiate Debate championships.
Fink went on to complete law school then in 2008 returned to teach in the UCLA communications department. In that role he proved popular with students, particularly on the subject of free speech. On the other hand, his dedication to the First Amendment disturbed politically correct campus bosses, who restricted access to his classes.
Professor Fink handed out dozens of permission-to-enroll numbers but as Evolet Chiu wrote in the Daily Bruin, the PTE numbers were not honored for Fink’s Communication Studies 167: “Sex, Politics and Race: Free Speech on Campus.” Kerri Johnson, the new chair of the communication studies department, also restricted Fink’s class size for Communication Studies M172: Free Speech in the Workplace.
Jewish students Negeen Arasteh and Shahab Naimi sought out Fink’s classes because he is “one of the best teachers at UCLA,” according to Naimi, a pre-med student. Both took Fink’s popular “Sex, Politics and Race: Free Speech on Campus,” but new department chair Kerri Johnson denied them credit for the course.

Foreign Officials Want to Use Dem Governors to Undermine US
Now that we’re speaking of treason, here’s the ongoing treason problem caused by the Dem refusal to respect the results of a legal election. And their willingness to collaborate with other countries against the United States. We’ve seen examples of this with unilateral declarations by states for the Paris Agreement. And now the foxes are headed to the henhouse.
Amazing is certainly one word. It’s a somewhat insufficient word. What we’re talking about is foreign countries trying to undermine our national policy by exploiting the subversiveness of the “Resistance” politics of the Dems.
We really are beginning to reply the Civil War again.

Trump Ended Obama’s Favoritism for Muslim Refugees
July 13, 2017
Daniel Greenfield
In one of the darkest moments of our history, Obama closed the doors on real refugees, the persecuted Christians of the Middle East, while opening it wide for Muslim migrants. While everything is far from fixed, the trend is improving.
That’s because Christians were and are legitimate refugees. The shift toward Muslim migrant majority was a political move. And despite illegal judicial activism, the shift toward refugees over migrants continues to increase.

Finally, these are people who will assimilate into the base culture of the US (not the modern pop culture but the base culture) and who will provide a massive intelligence gain. Some of them will become massive intel assets in the future.
I just hope they’re not taqiyya artists.
The real ones will catch on to the liars and once they feel save rat them out.
No, China Isn’t Going To Lead
The world has had its delusions about China over the years, but none quite as fantastical as the notion of Beijing assuming the mantle of global leadership.
Ever since Donald Trump’s election, it has been a journalistic trope to speculate that China is about to take the lead on globalization, climate change and international diplomacy.
A Washington Post headline mused late last year, “If the U.S. withdraws, China wonders whether it is ready to lead the world.” According to The New York Times, “China Poised to Take Lead on Climate After Trump’s Move to Undo Policies.” On the occasion of last week’s G-20 summit, Bloomberg reported, “China, Germany Step Up as U.S. Retires From World Leadership.”
The Economist a little while ago dubbed China “the global grown-up.” Really? The one-party state that tortures and jails dissidents and maintains a dangerous rogue state in its hip pocket, North Korea, for strategic leverage?
http://www.freedomsback.com/no-china-isnt-going-to-lead/?roi=echo3-45326582408-43259546-51d6864e66b8d1858ce06e841c101fd7
“The world has had its delusions about China over the years, but none quite as fantastical as the notion of Beijing assuming the mantle of global leadership.”
If by “leadership”, they mean the sort of authority demonstrated by Al Capone, there might be some truth to this report. Especially in terms of HR and accounting management.
Otherwise, Communist China is about as ready for “global leadership” as a kindergarten class is for a semester of advanced placement physics.

Russia: Crowds of pilgrims welcome St. Nicholas relics to St. Petersburg Monastery
An ark holding the bone fragments of Saint Nicholas, one of the most revered saints in the Russian Orthodox Church, were taken to the St. Alexander Nevsky Lavra Monastery in St. Petersburg on Thursday morning, where several thousand pilgrims queued to welcome them.
No loan, those relics are there to stay. The Orthodox Church might return a thinly-plated gold box with a few chicken knuckles inside, but this will be a very, very long-term loan.
Report: Iran Building Long-Range Ballistic Missiles in Syria (MEMRI)
A Syrian opposition website has reported on a new Syrian facility manufacturing long-range missiles in Wadi Jahannam, between Baniyas and Hama.
The facility is subordinate to the Syrian Scientific Studies and Research Center, which has been identified by the U.S. Treasury Department as “the Syrian government agency responsible for developing and producing non-conventional weapons and the means to deliver them.”
Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad recently visited the facility, meeting with Iranian and Syrian experts.
https://memri.org/reports/further-reporting-syrian-opposition-website-long-range-missile-facility-near-baniyas-it
It looks like we are entering into a new phase of the war, Hezbollah is manufacturing enough missiles that they can overwhelm the Israeli missile defense systems and with the long range missiles hit several large cities (possibly all) in Egypt. Egypt has a large Shia population and Iran wants to take control of them. It looks like this summer (possibly next but I would be on this summer) are going to get real dangerous all over. This also explains why Crazy Fat Boy is acting like he is.
Questions.
The Chinese Russian naval maneuvers are being held where? The Black Sea?
What is Russia saying about the missile facilities in Lebanon?
How close is Iran to using their missiles?
Will Iran move a navel group into the Med before they move?
What is Egypt doing?
What is Saudi doing?
Is Iran planning on using poison gas or bio weapons? Both?
Egypt has a tiny Shitte community! And they’re universally hated!
Too many disparate pieces. I’ll take one big bite.
Iran isn’t interested in Egypt and v-v.
Egypt worries about incursions from Libya and the Upper Nile, Sudan. Plus the human lice in Sinai are typhus-virulent. ISIS is embedded with Hamas and infiltrates Egypt from the Sinai. Atrocities daily, thanks to the generosity of the MB and the folks who brought us al-Qaida.
Iran’s big prize is the Gulf. Pincer-Maneuver: the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al-Mandeb. Yemen on one side, Qatar and Bahrain on the other. Most of the oil and the Shitte population are on the east coast of the Gulf. That’s kissing distance from the snakes of Iran.
To the north Iran wants control over a contiguous stretch from its border to the Med. Right now that’s what’s in play at Syria’s southeast, where it borders Iraq to the south. Shouting distance from Jordan and a big American presence. A recent ISIS video showed close-ups of our soldiers training the usual seedy, generic Ay-rabs.
A miserable stretch of desert to the west, then some mountains, all that must be secured to connect with Hezbollah in Lebanon. If Jordan could be sufficiently destabilized, that would be much easier. Neither of those scenarios is likely.
The Gulf is a better bet and the real prize anyway. That’s Mecca and the Persian Empire. Of course they have to kill off the American guard-dogs. And their Israeli puppies.
Torturing puppies is fun, and the frenetic yelping never fails to distract from more serious business. You’re talking about adorable deplorables. You can’t beat that.
Israel serves as a goad against the Sunni world. It disguises the essence that is Persian- and Shitte-tainted -Islam to the wider Sunni world. It doesn’t work as well with Arabs, so the mullahs play tag with the Muslim Brotherhood.
The MB want to replace the Gulf Arabs, too. And the rest of the world, including the loathsome Persians. Not a stable alliance, definitely unsavory, but from time immemorial, the enemy of my enemy…
Israel’s also useful for leverage to incite perennial Jew-haters everywhere. Propaganda becomes pornographic when it hits the streets in Dublin and Berlin and Johannesburg. That merges with anti-Americanism seamlessly. If America cannot be suborned, its obstacle-capability must be destroyed.
To sum up:
• The Gulf will always be Persian to the rulers of Iran.
• Arabs tend to run when they meet concerted resistance.
• America stands in the way, unless we’re overtaken by another tool like Barack Hussein Osama.
• The nukes are to take us – the U.S.- out, together with any Arab Sunni who dares fight back.
• Israel as a shiny thing has outsize value. As unclean as a perfect toy-poodle and just as much fun to torture to death.
OK I was wrong about the Shiite population.
Yes they want the Gulf and will probably manage to hold onto at least half of it.
Yes Arabs run when they meet concerted resistance, this is they they use to take European kids and rais them to be slave soldiers.
Yes we are in their way and are the target for the nukes.
Yes they do want to torture Israel.
I still say they want Navel bases in the Med where they can then project power. They want to be the big power broker and Islamic leader in that region, they can’t be that unless they can project power to threaten Europe or are in a position where they can support the Islamic Invaders in Europe. Those who are not planning on the end times are thinking much bigger then you are giving them credit for. They want to rebuild the Persian Empire as a Caliphate and expand it to include large portions of Europe, all of Europe if possible. Persia has a long martial tradition, not as good a one and India or Europe but they did threaten Greece and by extension the rest of Europe several times in the distant past. Their military has been fighting long enough in Syria/Iraq that they are blooded troops with officers that are fairly competent.
Hey, let’s hear it for regime change!
You got my vote, I don’t care if it is the Pahlavi family so some attempt at democracy (although the latter will be real hard to keep the Islamist from taking over again) or some strong man from a different family just so they break up the fundamentalist rats nest.
Another opportunity like 2009, let ‘er rip!
Botkyrka municipality acknowledges: We have thrown out Astrid Lindgren’s “racist” books

Culture.
Journalist Janne Josefsson accuses Botkyrka municipality’s library of burning Astrid Lindgren’s early books for leftist ideological reasons. Now the municipality acknowledges that the books are being recycled because they contain “racism”, library writes in a press release.
In “Summer in P1”, journalist Janne Josefsson claimed that Botkyrka municipality burns older editions of “Pippi in the South Sea”
……..
Now the municipality’s library admits that they have really put the books in the trash and for recycling. This is because the books contain “racist” expressions.
The libraries in the municipality of Botkyrka have carried some editions of Astrid Lindgrens ‘Pippi in the South Sea’, where there are obsolete expressions that can be perceived as racist, but Library Botkyrka has also purchased the publisher’s new edition of the book from 2015, where the obsolete expressions have been replaced more contemporary usage, the municipality writes in its press release.
“The filthy specimens of Pippi in the South Sea have been discarded and handled in accordance with the same routines as all other obsolete books,”libarary continue in their statement and points out that discarded books are handled according to “regular recycling and waste management procedures”…

France: ‘I do not require Assad’s departure’ – Macron on ‘new approach’ in Syria
French President Emmanuel Macron said Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad’s resignation was not a prerequisite for action in Syria at a press conference alongside US counterpart Donald Trump in Paris, Thursday.
France: Protesters organise ‘No Trump Zone’ in Paris during US President’s visit
Demonstrators gathered to protest against the visit of the US President Donald Trump, on Thursday, in Paris, the first in a series of anti-Trump protests organised in the capital during his two day visit.
Around 250 protesters participated in the protest, listening to speeches and carrying placards denouncing Trump’s policies. They erected a “No Trump Zone” at the French capital’s Place de la Repulique.
The rallies have been organised by activists from “Paris against Trump” via social media.
The protest was organised on the eve of Bastille Day. US President will attend celebrations tomorrow as a guest of honour.

Modi’s Visit to Israel Makes Arabs Envious
Arabs took close note to Benjamin Netanyahu freeing up his day to attend his visiting guest, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. What turned heads around is that Modi viewed Israel as a prevalent beacon in technology and he clearly spoke of his country’s tremendous need to benefit from Israel’s capabilities in this field. The visit resulted in the signing of an agreement for India to secure its very own Israeli signature Iron Dome weapon system worth $2 billion.?
What is more dangerous is that a country the size of Israel can offer the Indian army such a large-scale weapons deal. Ever more threatening is that Israel now has managed to develop an advanced strategic, military, security and economic relationship with a country with the size and geopolitical significance of India.?
When reading between the lines and closely reviewing the Middle East, Arabs discovered that in recent years, Israel had achieved a series of victories without firing a bullet. Waves of extremism in the Arab world have caused untold calamities, creating a long list of issues and conflicts in which the Palestinian cause is merely one of many. This time Arabs did not feel envy alone, but sensed utter defeat for those who are failing to catch up with the developing world.

……
India is where Israelis go to decompress. They’re treated well there – ancient civilization, smart young people who know who they are. More and more they’re facing East.
Ill-treatment by 0 is what caused Bibi and Mr. Modi to bond initially. Now the strategic and commercial relationship has really taken off.
The Hindu leader has rock-star charisma. He didn’t just say all the right things; he charmed the most hard-boiled. He didn’t waste time on gestures to what passes for “Palestinian leadership”. Instead he visited orphans and research institutes, sealed deals prearranged and tripled them. Another master deal-maker.
I’ll bet they are looking East, what most people don’t know is that India has a martial tradition that goes back many thousands of years, their weakness has always been lack of unity and hopefully that has changed since the Brits left. They have semi joined in the alliance against North Korea, meaning China.
There are a lot of signs that Iran and North Korea/China are getting ready to make a move, when they do there won’t be any place that is safe but getting the Israeli kids to the US or India is going to be vital. Doing a Dunkirk to Iraly or Greece is a long sail with enemy vessels near by. Pray China and Russia doing come in to help Iran.

Celebrating Freedom with Roses & Fireworks!
For the 4th of July this year, our team at CAIR, along with our gracious interns, volunteers and sponsors, prepared 1,500 roses to pass out in downtown Dallas. Along with each rose, our team attached a card with sayings from Prophet Muhammad, Prophet Moses and Prophet Jesus, to promote interfaith unity and tolerance. It is our hope that this gesture may open the hearts and minds of those who may have reservations towards, or are unfamiliar with the Islamic Faith.
The Roses of the Prophets initiative has taken place all around the world, and is a symbolic gesture of peace and love, in order to show people the beauty of islam and the beauty of our prophet Muhammad . He sought to beautify the world, he sought to get rid of the ignorance, get rid of the racism, get rid of the hate and injustice that are spreading around the world, and get rid of the social structures that are keeping our society apart!

EVIDENCE: Supreme Court Justice John Roberts Was ‘Hacked’ By Obama Officials
Evidence shows that John Roberts, chief justice of the United States Supreme Court, was “hacked” by a Deep State surveillance operation overseen by Obama administration CIA director John Brennan and Obama director of national intelligence James Clapper.
Roberts, the Bush appointee who made the decisive vote to uphold the constitutionality of Obamacare before the 2012 election, was allegedly the victim of the same Deep State surveillance program that spied on President Donald Trump.
Tapes released by Federal Judge G. Murray Snow — preserved on a Whistleblower Soundcloud page — show real estate billionaire Timothy Blixseth explaining Brennan and Clapper’s surveillance program to Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and detective Mike Zullo. The existence of this surveillance program has been corroborated by Wikileaks’ “Vault 7” release and by the public comments of former CIA and NSA contractor Dennis Montgomery, who says he worked on the program for Brennan and Clapper

Muslim Husband Chops Off Wife’s Fingers Because She Won’t Drop Out of College
A woman is recovering after having her fingers chopped off by her husband in Bangladesh, a majority Muslim nation. One of the husband’s relatives then threw her fingers in the trash so they couldn’t be reattached by surgeons.
Obviously, this sounds extremely harsh.
But multiculturalism teaches that all cultures should be celebrated, right? Isn’t that what progressives like Linda Sarsour tell us?

NYPD Officers Turn Backs on Mayor De Blasio
The NYPD gathered yesterday to pay their final respects to one of their own, Miosotis Familia. Police believe the killer targeted the 48-year-old officer simply because of her uniform; her murder is thus best described as an assassination.
So imagine the NYPD’s feelings when the mayor decided that the unprovoked murder of one of their own was an insufficient reason to stay put in New York City. He instead decided to attend the protests of the G-20 summit in Hamburg, Germany: not the summit itself, but the protests. Which were so violent, several hundred police suffered injuries.
It played exactly as you think it might among the NYPD:

Saudi forces kill 20 Houthis aiming to cross border (saudigazette, Jul 13, 2017)

“Saudi forces in Jazan area carried out military operations on sites occupied by the Houthi militias and the guards of ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh in the province of Harad, which is about 9 km from the Saudi border.
Military sources confirmed that Saudi forces were able to kill more than 20 insurgents and injure others, as well as destroying strongholds where the militias were hiding.
The Saudi forces began targeting militants with their artillery, after detecting them via thermal cameras. The militants’ approach towards the Saudi border was an attempt to open a new military front to launch the missiles towards the Saudi provinces.

OIC Co-Organizes London Forum on Islamophobia, Media (aawsat, Jul 13, 2017)
https://english.aawsat.com/asharq-al-awsat-english/world-news/oic-co-organizes-london-forum-islamophobia-media
“The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is co-organizing a forum in London, United Kingdom in mid-July to explore mechanisms for countering Islamophobia.
Media experts and civil society representatives are expected to attend the forum, said the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Experts will look at the phenomenon of Islamophobia from a legal and human rights perspective and how it is covered and handled or promoted in the media as well as the role of civil society organizations in addressing racial discrimination, hatred and denigration of religions.
The forum is being co-organized with the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and hosted by the Islamic Cultural Center in London.
“This forum is being held in implementation of the updated OIC anti-Islamophobia Media Strategy and its mechanisms, which was adopted by the 11th session of the OIC Ministers of Information Conference held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 21 December 2016,” said Maha Akeel, Director of Information and Communication at the OIC.
The OIC Media Strategy in Countering Islamophobia consists of short, medium and long term objectives that include focusing on interaction with media outlets, academic professionals and experts on various related topics.
Media content production, publications and media literacy programs, engaging with western governments in creating awareness, and supporting efforts by Muslim civil societies in the west and involving them in the elaboration of plans and programs to counter Islamophobia will be among the key topics of discussion at the event.
“No doubt that there is a rise in Islamophobia in the west, which is indicated in the latest OIC Islamophobia Observatory report, and there is usually a spike in hate crimes against Muslims following terrorist acts perpetrated by Muslims,” said Akeel.
“The forum will look at the role of the media and civil society in countering Islamophobia from a legal and human rights perspective because we cannot talk about the role of the media without discussing freedom of the press and freedom of expression as fundamental human rights,” said Akeel.
Also, “when talking about the role of the media it is within the framework of its responsibility in the proliferation of stereotypes and its ethical and professional standards in covering and handling Islamophobic acts,” she added.
The two-day event will conclude with recommendations and some possible projects for implementation.”
Saudi Arabia funding terrorist-breeding mosques – ex-UK ambassador to Riyadh (RT, Jul 13. 2017)
https://www.rt.com/uk/396245-saudi-arabia-extremist-funding/
“Saudi Arabia has been funding mosques across Europe that are encouraging terrorism through extremists ideologies, the former UK ambassador to Saudi Arabia has said.
Sir William Patey claimed that even though the Gulf State – which is the UK’s biggest trade and security ally in the Middle East – does not directly fund terrorism, it still finances religious institutions which radicalize individuals, becoming the breeding ground of terrorists.
“It is unhealthy and we need to do something about it,” he said, according to the Guardian.
“The Saudis [have] not quite appreciated the impact their funding of a certain brand of Islam is having in the countries in which they do it – it is not just Britain and Europe.
“That is a dialogue we need to have. They are not funding terrorism.
“They are funding something else, which may down the road lead to individuals being radicalised and becoming fodder for terrorism.”
Patey, who was the UK ambassador to Riyadh from 2006 to 2010 and previously head of the Foreign Office Middle East desk, called for “a grown up dialogue with the Gulf about what we think,” adding that even if it is not the Saudi regime funding terrorists directly, there are individuals within the country who may defy the government.
The former ambassador’s comments are likely to stir controversy as they come a day after the government refused to publish a Home Office-commissioned report of foreign funding of extremist organizations and individuals in the UK…”
