Notre Dame Cathedral: Man attacks officer with hammer, police say

Fox News:

A man with a hammer attacked a police officer in front of Nortre Dame Cathedral in Paris Tuesday afternoon, causing officials to shut down the area, Paris police confirmed to Fox News.

Paris police said a “number of police” are at the square in front of the cathedral. They urged people to avoid the area.

The officer defended himself from the attacker by firing two shots. The attacker is on the ground, police said. It’s unclear if he is dead or wounded.

      Diana West has good reason to loathe him and his pals. Their attacks on her were obscene. He wrote the “Renegade Jew” article that made me physically sick, while the Jew-ish neocon, NeverTrumpers could damn the only candidate favorable to Israel. Crazy.

      West writes, “…the issue that lit him up so much – Obama’s Iran deal… not that Horowitz cares so much now.”

      A cheap shot. Horowitz was one of those who helped organize and deploy the grassroots campaign against that Deal. I played my part. We lost; we were crushed. Caroline Glick tried to lift spirits by writing, “A Glorious Defeat.” We move on.

      An elderly man of considerable accomplishment, he moves in the stratosphere of the establishment. Some of the venues are indeed swank: You don’t get the Ron Lauders or Sheldon Adelsons of this world to the local Holiday Inn. And these are people with leverage that money alone can’t buy.

      Organizations central to CounterJihad activists like Freedom Center are hardly cash-cows or click-bait driven. They do, however, support talent like Dan Greenfield and Bosch Fawstin.

      Horowitz has given away more money than you’ll ever hear about. Obscure groups that help cloistered communities enter the mainstream. And I’ve seen him personally fend off a band of baying thugs on a college campus, one frail man wobbling on a cane.

      He’s generous and courageous and a little crazy. I’m glad he’s not my father and I’m not married to him.

      Diana West is one of my favorite political writers, but I’m sorry about that article. A soiled paper isn’t a good thing to use for an essay.

    Things in the Muslim Middle East can be very “simple”.

    The only problem being is that such measures typically involve ending millions of lives in the region. Just like they would love to do to us, here in the West. It’s all a matter of who gets the last musical chair.
