  1. Report: FGM in Germany up 30 Per Cent in 3 Years Due to Migration (breitbart, Feb 7, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/02/07/government-report-fgm-30-per-cent-germany-3-years/

“There has been a 30 per cent rise in the number of women in Germany who have suffered female genital mutilation (FGM) in just three years, as migration from regions where it is common has increased by 40 per cent.

The shocking findings, made in a study by the Family Affairs Ministry, found there to be 48,000 victims of the gruesome practice living in the country – an increase of 30 per cent since 2014.

FGM is common in some Muslim and African societies, where it is used to suppress and control female sexuality. The government document directly linked its rise in Germany to immigration, explaining:

“According to the study, the immigration of women and girls from countries in which female genital mutilation is particularly widespread increased by 40 per cent between the end of 2014 and the middle of 2016. The number of affected persons thus rose by almost 30 per cent.”

Most of the women living in Germany who have suffered FGM originate from Eritrea, Somalia, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Iraq.

The authors said there was an acute threat to up to 5,700 girls already in Germany, with potentially more than 9,000 at risk. The German state is already taking several measures to protect them.

Since December last year, authorities have been allowed to take passports from parents whom they suspect of taking their daughters abroad to have so-called “holiday cuts” where the procedure is performed out the country.

However, FGM is already illegal even when it is carried out abroad, according to German law, in order to deter parents from taking their daughters back to their home countries to have the operation carried out there.

Ralf Kleindiek, secretary of state for the Family Affairs Ministry, commented: “Female genital mutilation is a serious violation of human rights, which causes unbelievable physical pain and emotional distress.

“The study shows that this phenomenon is also very high in Germany – especially in the context of flight and migration,” she explained.”

  2. Poll: Many Europeans Agree With Muslim Ban

While controversy over President Donald Trump’s executive order on travelers from Muslim countries continues to rage in the U.S., sentiment abroad is markedly different. A new poll of Europeans from 10 different countries found many Europeans are in favor of stopping immigration from Muslim countries.

The survey, published Feb. 7 by Chatham House, polled 10,000 people from 10 European countries. The poll asked people if immigration from predominantly Muslim countries should be stopped.

In all but two states, most agreed with a ban, with 71 percent in Poland, 65 percent in Austria, 53 percent in Germany and 51 percent in Italy to 47 percent in the United Kingdom and 41 percent in Spain. No country’s residents disagreed with the ban by more than 32 percent.

The report notes opposition to Muslim immigrants is especially high in Austria, Poland, Hungary, France and Belgium.

“In each of these countries, at least 38% of the sample ‘strongly agreed’ with the statement,” the report says. “With the exception of Poland, these countries have either been at the [center] of the refugee crisis or experienced terrorist attacks in recent years.”

A 2016 Pew survey found similar results.

A majority in five European countries had unfavorable views of Muslims living in their countries: 72 percent in Hungary, 69 percent in Italy, 66 percent in Poland, 65 percent in Greece and 50 percent in Spain. Meanwhile, in Germany, France and the United Kingdom, the disapproval was below 30 percent.

In the U.S., public opinion on Trump’s ban is less certain. According to Gallup, in a poll released Feb. 2, 55 percent of Americans disapprove of Trump’s ban. Of those polled, 58 percent disapprove of indefinitely blocking Syrian refugees from entering the U.S.

Ever-so-slowly, the truth emerges. Will it be allowed to see the full light of day before serious “festivities” finally start? That is a question the MSM will have to answer for sooner or later. Their abject refusal to provide factual information is fueling, what will likely be, one of this new century’s most avoidable and brutal conflicts.

    • Better yet:
Why MIDDLE EASTERN nations support Trump’s immigration halt
Critics of President Trump’s temporary travel ban on seven Muslim nations should remember the Chinese proverb, “Kill the chicken and let the monkey watch.”

The much-criticized measure was a warning to the governments of the Gulf States, Turkey and Pakistan, who walk a fine line between support for Western counter-terrorism efforts and concessions to jihadists. It has had precisely the result that the White House intended, as a Dubai security official indicated on January 29. As Reuters’ Zawya.com reported:

Dubai’s deputy chief of police and public security, Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, has praised US President Donald Trump’s recent decision to temporarily ban citizens from seven Muslim-majority states, saying in a series of tweets it was a ‘preventive measure’ to safeguard the country.…

Counter-terrorism officials in Muslim countries contending with a jihadist minority view Trump as an ally against their domestic enemies.…
      [Turkey, Egypt, Libya, Pakistan]

…Western pundits who protest the supposed inhumanity of Trump’s temporary immigration halt said not a word while the Obama administration steered the region towards disaster and half a million Syrians died in their country’s civil war. Their objections should be read as politically-motivated hypocrisy.

The governments who have to deal with the consequences of American fecklessness, by contrast, want the United States to be strong and assertive. They are engaged in an existential war against jihadist elements who threaten to reduce them to chaos, and look to the United States to show determination. That is why Trump is suddenly so popular in the Middle East.

  3. Al-Qaeda Guide: ‘Large and Violent Demonstrations’ Can Distract from Terror Operations

    https://pjmedia.com/homeland-security/2017/02/07/al-qaeda-guide-large-and-violent-demonstrations-can-distract-from-terror-operations/

A new al-Qaeda guide from one of the group’s most wanted leaders pitches the value of kidnappings to jihadists, including seizing scientists working in “sensitive” areas and politicians, and details how terrorists should map out these operations.

The 39-page guide, released by al-Qaeda’s As-Sahab media, is authored by Saif al-Adel, a senior al-Qaeda member on the FBI’s Most Wanted list in connection with the 1998 bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. There’s a $5 million reward for information leading to the capture of the Egyptian through the State Department’s Rewards for Justice program.

Al-Adel, in his mid-50s, drew from a lecture on kidnapping he originally delivered in 2000. He’s been al-Qaeda’s planner in Iran, and is rumored to have recently spent time in Syria.

He dedicates the guide to, among others, “Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdel-Rahman, who is serving a life sentence on federal conspiracy charges in North Carolina, “and his associates in America.”

  4. Secret Service spouses circulate petition calling for the dismissal of agent who decried Trump

The spouses of Secret Service agents in the Denver field office are circulating a petition online asking that Denver special agent in charge Kerry O’Grady be fired after it was discovered last month that she openly decried protecting President Donald Trump.

The petition is addressed to Secret Service Director Joesph Clancy and was written anonymously.

“We, the undersigned, are family members and concerned citizens who are urging the leaders in the US Secret Service to act now and terminate SAIC Kerry O’Grady from the duties she boldly stated she will not perform,” the petition states.

“This petition is to make known the sincere concerns that many Special Agent’s wives, loved ones and American citizens have with the written statements made by Kerry O’Grady regarding her unwillingness to conduct herself in a professional manner and

  5. Second Swedish cop opens up about migrants destroying his country

Yesterday Gatestone wrote about courageous policeman Peter Springare, who decided to blow the lid of the cesspool that hides beneath Sweden’s political correctness:

“I’m so f***** tired. What I’m writing here isn’t politically correct. But I don’t care. Our pensioners are on their knees, the schools are a mess, healthcare is an inferno, the police is completely destroyed. Everyone knows why, but none dares or wants to say why.”

In response, Swedish newspapers have published on the issue, and a Facebook page called “Stand up for Peter Springare” has gathered the support of over 85.000 people from all over the world. One of many people leaving a message of support is fellow policeman Tomas Åsenlöv:

“I have worked in the field for more than 43 years. I share Peter’s infectious question for 100%. Our managers do not dare to take up a position in any direction. As you can see, there is no senior manager who has dared to give Peter backing. Instead, they introduced Code 291, which is meant to keep a lid on all immigrant-related crime.

Just look at the photo ban at the police station. It is appalling that this is happening in today’s Sweden. To top it all off, the chief of police has complete authority over the police. Instead of supporting his people, he will order them to be transferred if they do not dance to his tune.

The Swedish public should be told all of the facts now. I understand younger officers do not dear speak out, criticise the police’s leadership, or openly support Peter. Because that would be the end of their career. Because when they would seek a transfer, they’d be known as ‘unloyal’.

  6. IMF: ‘Greek debt unsustainable, we will no longer bail them out’

Despite the heroic efforts by former EU-president Van Rompuy, Dutch Public Broadcaster NOS broke the news today that the board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has called Greek public depth “unsustainable“. This would entail that, according to its own rules, the IMF is not able to allocate new financial support to Greece. Without the IMF, the entire 86 billion euro aid package to save Greece is in danger.

The NOS further reports that it’s the first time since 2013 the IMF has written a so-called Article 4-report, an in-depth analysis of the situation in Greece. In response, the interest on Greek two-year state obligations has shot up from 12.7 to 15.4%. This is an indication that investors want to get rid of Greek debts.

The IMF boardI meanwhile is unsure of how to continue. A majority of the 24 members of the Board thinks Greece cannot be asked to push through even more budget cuts:

    https://gatestone.eu/greece-is-in-deep/

    • The Greek economy collapsed several years ago, the other EU members poured money into Greece to prevent the worlds economy from collapsing. The problem is that all they did was put a band aide over a major cut and hide the problem, that and their subsequent actions have simiply ensured that the collapse will be 1) delayed and 2) much worse.

The EU and various banks have been borrowing and in the case of the EU printing money to cover the Greek Debt among other debts. They have now run out of other peoples money to spend and the public is losing confidence in the printing press money.

  7. Hungarian PM Viktor Orbán vows to Make Europe Great Again

“Protecting a border is not a nice thing. It is not a matter of aesthetics; it cannot be done with flowers and teddy bears,” Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán said in a number of speeches in Brussels this week. Adding that by protecting the border, “we are safeguarding the lifestyle, economic model, and safety so dearly cherished by Europeans.” He also attacked European elites, claiming that what the people of Europe want are “democratic societies“, not “open societies.”

“The leaders of Europe always seem to emerge from the same elite, the same general frame of mind, the same schools, and the same institutions that rear generation after generation of politicians to this day. They take turns implementing the same policies. (…) large masses of people today want something radically different from what traditional elites want. This is the deep cause of the restlessness, anxiety, and tension erupting on the surface, time and again, in the wake of a terrorist attack or some other act of violence, or when we confront a seemingly unstoppable tidal wave of migration.”

    • Just about the same here, until recently.

The soap surrounding the American lawyer Chaka Laguerre continues. The lawyer, working as an intern at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, claimed she was the victim of racist police violence. She said she was:

“brutalised by 2 Dutch male police officers, arrested, and thrown into jail (…) and [ending] up in the hospital swollen, bruised, and injured.”

Fortunately, the event was caught on surveillance camera and because of the gravity of the accusations, even journalists were invited to look at the tapes. The Dutch Public Broadcaster said after viewing the footage the officers behaved gracefully and added:

“They even picked up her bag from the ground and locked her bike. They were extraordinarily patient.“

Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant reported last week the ICJ has apologised for the unwarranted accusation of by the 30-year-old intern.

  9. Syria: ‘EU is supporting terrorists in Syria from the very beginning’ – Assad

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stated that the European Union (EU) is supporting extremist groups, including al-Nusra and ISIS “from the very beginning,” while speaking during an interview with Belgian broadcaster Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroep (VRT) in Damascus, in footage released on Monday.

“The EU is supporting the terrorists in Syria from the very beginning, under the different titles, humanitarians, moderate and so on. Actually, they were supporting al-Nusra and ISIS from the very beginning, they were extremists from the very beginning, so they cannot destroy and build at the same time,” stated Assad.

The Syrian President added that many people in the region “believe that the Europeans don’t exist politically, that they only follow the master, which are the Americans,” adding that “the Europeans will follow and will implement what the Americans want.”

Assad met with a European delegation, headed by Member of the Flemish Parliament Filip Dewinter, in Damascus on the same day, to exchange updated information regarding the current state of affairs in the Syria.
