Sandra Solomon on the history and nature of Islamic women’s clothing

This is the first of what we hope will be a series of instructional videos on the real nature of Islam. Please let us know what you think in the comments, and if you would like to see this series continue. Also, if there are specific subjects you would like Sandra to speak on.

  1. Keep posting Sandra’s videos. I send them all over.
She is quite a brave woman speaking out as she does. We need more like her in America. She is well spoken and attractive which fortunately or unfortunately is something that counts in political circles.

  2. Fascinating and instructive. Sandra Solomon reveals the mindset behind what goes on in the Islamic world and how it developed out of the conditions of Mohammad’s time. Thanks so much to this very brave woman. Invaluable!

    • Muhammad said non of his widows could remarry.

“O ye who believe! …Nor is it right for you that ye should annoy Allah’s Messenger, or that ye should marry his widows after him at any time. Truly such a thing is in Allah’s sight an enormity.” (Quran 33:53)

Was it better to die-instantly with the love of your life or die-living as one of Muhammad’s Widows, venerated as Mothers of the Believers like love-immolated Dalai Lamas?

The Curse of being the Property of Islam.

  3. In usurping Jewish practice, Islam lost whatever higher intent existed at that time! Here is a rationale for the Jewish practice of hair-covering (not head-covering) in women. The result is parallel–warding off male interest, but the Way of Halakha considers that a side effect of a personal exploration of incorporating a semi-monasticism. Yet, this polemic ignores that in the so-called Muslim world, the custom falls on girls, in addition to married women. (May God guide the Nation of Israel to free and protect them.)
