The White House will on Monday announce that the US embassy in Israel is to move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, according to an unconfirmed report by an Israeli news outlet.
If this rumour turns out to be correct, it will mean the Trump administration is more effective and more honourable than one might reasonably have hoped, even by his supporters.
A hint of it might be seen in the Rabbi’s blessing at the inauguration however, which can be seen on the video below at 20:32

A good friend of mine once told me something I found profound during a discussion about how to define the Jewish people as a distinct group, which can be difficult because it is not racial per se, or even religious other than if a person’s religion is Judaism, they are Jewish. Many ethnically Jewish people however can be Christian or Buddhist or atheists and still be Jewish.
But my friend, who had converted to Judaism and moved to Israel, said the following:
“Whatever else the Jewish people are, everywhere in the world they have an umbilical cord that connects them to Israel”.
Donald Trump on Monday, may well issue a challenge to those who hold a knife to that cord, and who intend to cut it, and kill what lies at both ends.

The White House says Donald Trump’s administration is “beginning” to discuss moving the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
It would fulfil a pledge Mr Trump made on the campaign trail to transfer the US’ diplomatic mission from Tel Aviv where it is at present.
White House spokesman Sean Spicer said in a statement: “We are at the very beginning stages of even discussing this subject.”
He said he would move it and I think it will take some real powerful arguments to make him change his mind.

Who needs to announce? It looks like it just moved — see the video when Trump signs Mr. Friedman in as the ambassador — isn’t that why Pres Trump is making a point of asking Mr. Schumer if he knows Friedman (i.e., has he met in person and can see that he is an Orthodox Jew).
Permit me another comment; 22:11 on Rabbi Hier’s blessing in full is on the Psalm 137 link and evokes the ill health that occurs if one ignores the centrality of Jerusalem.
