“The incident occurred when two Syrian refugees began grinding on the 14-year-old girl. Soon, one of the Syrian boys began groping the girl’s breasts before sticking his hand inside her underwear and touching her vagina.

Perhaps the most troubling part of the story occurred after the incident, when documents obtained in a freedom of information request revealed school officials standing up for the Syrian boy.”

  2. Years ago my then 11 year-old-son’s class at a nice fee-paying school in Australia was being told by their young male teacher about the evils of apartheid in South Africa.
    My son, bless his heart, innocently cited the oppression of women in certain countries of the Third World as another example of unacceptable oppression.
    The teacher was aghast. “Oh, but that’s part of their culture!” he snapped, with obvious indignation at the boy’s temerity in raising so trivial an issue.

  8. So I did some digging with some friends who are in policing in that area. For the record I am not a fan of the way the refugees were vetted prior to coming to this country. Now with that said I am a firm believer that knowledge is power. That’s why I’m about to share this information:
    Someone is not disclosing the full truth.
    It is the law that the police MUST give a sexual assault victim who is underage the right to have a lawyer, or parents or Guardian in the interview room with them. The alleged victim can also choose to have no one in the room. Now let me ask all of you a question: why would a young gir, like this alleged victim, choose not to have her mother in the room?! There are could be a number of reasons but the first thing that comes to mind is that the mother may have a negative influence on her daughter.
    Here’s something else to consider: it is not in any police agencies best interest to overlook asexual offences. If they ever got caught doing so their reputation as a policing agency would be severely damaged. This leads me to think there were no grounds to charge these young men. Why would the rebel.com not present this information if they were such a balanced media Outlet?!

  12. I tried to go back to the news files from last year when this allegedly happened. I can’t seem to find anything on this story. If I’m wrong and it actually happened, then I apologize profusely to the young lady and her family. I did find stories related to language and cultural issus, but nothing like this.

    • Actually considering the cultural differences does make sense. However it is the people who let these Syrians in that should have done the considering. What did they think was going to happen when these boy/men were exposed to western society? They were the ones that made the mistake by letting them in on mass. The people in charge who made that decision need to be held accountable.     • The police quite consistently try to discourage women from pressing charges of sexual assault… there is almost always an excuse made for the perpetrator, especially if it’s a man who assaulted a woman.

      • Interestingly women assault men at least as often and are nearly never charged at all. Often a woman will start a physical fight with the man, all the evidence will show all the violence came from her, and the man is dealt with as the villain anyway.

    • That only counts for raping a muslim woman. And even then, she would need two male witnesses or four female witnesses to prove that it was rape and not adultery, in which case she would be stoned to death for it. Which is why Muslim women rarely cry rape.

    Interestingly as per the stats Canada 2006, 50% of the Canadian women have been either physically or sexually assaulted. Also note that 80% of sexual assault incidents occur in the home. There were no Syrian refugees in 2006. Seems like you guys are getting ready for some homefest and then blaming it on refugees.

  28. Wow. So many people seem to think Canadians don’t’ do this kind of thing. High boys in Fredericton grope, grab, and rape girls, including home grown white Canadian boys. Schools and police never want to do anything about it. The way the attacked person was dressed or acted is always mentioned (the technical term is “victim-blaming) and an excuse is always found for the attacker/s. This is nothing new, except that the school authorities have the added excuse of Muslim to go along with “male”.

    Honest to goodness, the way most authorities talk about rape and how men can’t control themselves around female flesh, or misunderstand a smile to be an invitation to sex right here and now, you’d think they were a bunch of rabid dogs. It is so sexist and insulting. Men are more than that, let’s start treating them that way. All men. Regardless of culture.

    • Culture IS the determining factor for how people treat each other. It is in fact the sum total reason for its existence as a whole. There cannot be more than 3 people without the appearance of conventions of behaviour or that group will rapidly diminish to one or two people.

      Islamic culture puts the sexual abuse of women as the norm. It is why even the school and police asked the victim to consider the culture of the attackers, as a way of explaining why they would hold them to a different standard, and not arrest them or otherwise act against them as they would a local.

      Islamic culture also reverses the onus of responsibility for the crime, but not the onus of responsibility for the punishment. In other words, if a man molests or rapes a woman, a non-Muslim one in particular, it is her fault for enticing her. Often she is punished in islamic societies for adultery even when raped.

      So I object to your attempt at cultural-relativism. Yes, all straight males desire females. Yes, straight females typically try and entice males with behaviours and appearance enhanced to the purpose. This is true. But how one culture Vs. another treats these issues is everything.

  29. Racism is not, and should never be, anyone’s cry when it comes to an issue such as this. There are Muslim members of just about every race on the face of the planet. It is, quite bluntly, differences in religious and cultural beliefs. And for it to be deemed ‘OK’ to assault anyone from a different religion or culture beggars belief.
    Would it be ‘OK’ for any ‘hot blooded’ Muslim male to sexually assault any of our bikini clad women simply given the fact they are dressed ‘provocatively’? Apparently….according to some. Are the perpetrators guilty of any offence? Apparently not….again according to some. Would it not then be considered ‘OK’ for non-Muslim males to sexually assault Muslim girls? For the sight (or lack of) of those girls under their ridiculous garb may be enough to stir the hormones of non-Muslim men. Of course not.
    Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Yet it is this ‘ignorance’, and difference in ‘belief’, that is being used, and ALLOWED, as excuses for such despicable and abhorrent offences. And too many of the so-called ‘powers that be’ soft cocking to a culture that encourages not only offences of this nature but also the killing of ‘non-believers’.
    Governments need to grow balls, and police given the power, to stamp these disgusting practices out. To return these wrong-doers to the cesspool they crawled from. And if not prepared to act to protect their own citizens from this scourge then not be too surprised when their citizens cry ‘Enough!’ and start taking the law into their own hands.
    For it is this very law that is meant to help protect yet is being perverted and being seen to ‘protect’ the most evil.

  30. The kids are onky 14 and are already sexually assaulting women. I think the problem here is Canada. We don’t mandate that these people adopt Canadian values before coming into our country. We should actually have mandatory courses on Canadian culture and law before anyone is allowed to step foot on Canadian soil. I live in Perth Western Australia and I am shocked at the amount of deceit and failure by the Law and the School, I wonder what would happen in this case, if it had a been a White Canadian Boy and if charges would have been laid, if so then I say regardless of religion or law no matter what Country these males need to be educated, as this is a criminal act and under equal rites should be charged, any male at that age has hormonal problems, does not give them the right to molest a young Girl and they should be publicly prosecuted for the offence.

    If this was my daughter you did this to you would want to go into hiding because if I caught you, you would suffer pain because you deserve it.

    I know this sounds out there but sometimes people you need to teach these immigrants a lesson if the law and schools are failing you… Don’t worry at the end of the day God will see this when they leave this World and in the next life they will suffer this Karmic and feel her pain.

    If you’re “fleeing” another country because of the way it is run, then you should learn the new laws and culture of the new country!
    My child is a Canadian citizen when was born and raised here, she has more right to be protected then some refugee!
    They should be required to take classes in Canadian laws and culture, as well as have a good grasp of English so when they are finally in society they can be contributing part!
