  1. Hunt for Syrian ‘refugee’ scientist plotting chemical attack on British seaside town (express, Jan 8, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/751419/Hunt-Syrian-refugee-scientist-plotting-chemical-attack-British-seaside-town-terror

“A HUNT is underway for a Syrian scientist posing as a refugee and plotting a chemical attack on a British seaside town.

The plan was uncovered by German police who stumbled across documents as they searched a refugee camp for the Berlin truck killer.

These detailed chemical agents and the names of British towns. But the suspect, aged in his early 30s, had disappeared and it is feared he could now be in the UK.

Sources say he was trained in toxins by the Assad regime and was being tracked by US agents before giving them the slip.

The news emerges just days after security minister Ben Wallace warned Britain to prepare for a “mass casualty attack” which may involve chemical weapons. Last week, Britain’s most senior fire chief warned that the potential for a terrorist chemical attack in the country is a “huge concern”.

The alarm was raised on December 20, when counter-terror police raided Berlin’s defunct Tempelhof airport, now the site of the country’s largest refugee camp, following the Berlin terror attack on the previous day.

As more than 250 officers ransacked the camp in their search for the attacker, they discovered a document with details about a separate plot in Britain.

The document, which was partially charred, contained details of chemical agent and listed two English towns.

“The contents were of such significance that MI5 were immediately contacted,” said an intelligence source last night.

Security services were last night scouring both targets, one of which was described only as “a seaside on town on the south coast”.

British Intelligence sources confirmed they had already been warned by US counterparts about the possibility of a Syrian scientist posing as a refugee.

US spies had been tracking the suspect, trained under the Assad regime, after he left Damascus. However, the trail went cold.

However, the camp discovery showed he had travelled further into Europe than had been previously thought.

Last night officials with Germany’s Ministry of the Interior said: “We can neither comment on ongoing investigations nor on the details of our intelligence services’ operations.”

The scientist is thought to have been trained by the Assad regime. He is said to have played a key role in chemical attacks launched by President Bashar Assad on his own people.

It is believed that he has either gone rogue and is now working for fundamentalist groups against Assad – or that he is part of a ‘false flag’ operation arranged by the dictator so that a terror outrage can be blamed on Islamic State.

The scientist is not thought to have any covert training, fuelling the belief that he is arranging to meet sympathisers already here…”

    • If he was trained by the Assad Regime what is he doing attacking Britain?

Did he join ISIS or some other jihadist group?

      • If my memory is serving me correctly it has been ISIS that used the war gases and not Assad despite what the Propaganda Media keeps saying.

“When the British people voted in the referendum last June, they did not simply vote to withdraw from the European Union; they voted to change the way our country works – and the people for whom it works – forever.”

“Should the United kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union.” Yes, that was the vote. No other questions asked, no others needed.

“It was a quiet revolution by those who feel the system has been stacked against them for too long –”

Yes, there was a Marxist Agenda being rolled out for over 50 years. Positive Discrimination, The Human Rights Act for protecting Preferential Groups into power, Minimum Wage, Baby Mothers, Sink Estates, Big Government, Political Correctness, Fornicating Family Values, The Chistian dichotomy of weekly White Guilt and Black Magic, Narcissism, Social Activism, BBC dumbing down, Diversity … everything the fruit of the 1970’s that took away personal responsibility and self defence… bringing the grave to the cradle

“and an instruction to this Government to seize the opportunity of building a stronger, fairer Britain that works for everyone, not just a privileged few.”

The Mummy State simply rolls on. This was no business entrepreneurial revolution. No freedom of speech for all. No cutting away the oligarchs of mind, body and soul. No turning of the soil. No political change to become Public Sevants once again. Just another charge toward fixing the utopia of Social Justice while Behavioural Scientists are employed to make it all impossible to resist. 4. North Korea says can test-launch ICBM at any time: KCNA

SEOUL (Reuters) – North Korea said on Sunday it can test launch an intercontinental ballistic missile at any time from any location set by leader Kim Jong Un, saying the United States’ hostile policy was to blame for its arms development.

Kim said on Jan. 1 that his nuclear-capable country was close to test-launching an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).

“The ICBM will be launched anytime and anywhere determined by the supreme headquarters of the DPRK,” an unnamed Foreign Ministry spokesman was quoted as saying by the official KCNA news agency, using the acronym for the country’s name.

The North is formally known as the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The United States said on Thursday that North Korea had demonstrated a “qualitative” improvement in its nuclear and missile capabilities after an unprecedented level of tests last year.

    • It amazes me that we don’t just simply park a ship-mounted laser off the Korean peninsula and detonate any launch vehicle that gets above a mile in altitude.

“Aw shucks, looks like another engine malfunction. To bad about that, fat boy. Maybe you should consider getting out of the missile business.”

  6. ‘Dead man walking’ Crack SAS team ordered to hunt down and kill evil Islamic State leader (express, Jan 8, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/751554/ISIS-leader-SAS-target-dead-man-walking-Islamic-State

“THE SAS has made the leader of Islamic State (ISIS) its number one target, with the murderous jihadi being described as “a dead man walking”.

The elite military unit has been ordered to take down Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in a “kill not capture mission”.

Defence chiefs in both Britain and the US believe eliminating the ISIS leader is the best chance of defeating the terror cell for good.

They hope that by cutting off the head the body will die, in a similar way to al-Qaeda, which has never fully recovered from the death of leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in 2006.

MI6 and GCHQ are now putting all resources into tracking down and killing al-Baghdadi.

The assassination plot will be led by top SAS snipers, while covert squads monitor hideouts in Iraq and Syria.

Spy planes will intercept emails and phone calls, with additional intelligence coming from MI6 and CIA double agents who have deserted al-Baghdadi after seeing atrocities carried outing his name.

Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, an unnamed defence source said: “The head of IS is now a priority target. That means the SAS will be using all of their experience and skill to track him down.

He is a dead man walking, it’s just a matter of time.

“He’s going to be killed by ground troops or taken out in an air strike or drone strike.”…”

    • Defence chiefs in both Britain and the US believe eliminating the ISIS leader is the best chance of defeating the terror cell for good.

I don’t object to killing him but this won’t stop ISIS, it may decentralize its command structure more but they are already doing this. They learned that a strong central command structure with massive showy targets gets you killed faster. al Queda is working to develop a decentralized command structure that can go after smaller targets.

To fight the decentralized terror groups you have to have a ground up plan as well as a top down with the ground up being at a minimum as important as the top down plan.Go after the top but you also have to go after the bottom.

      • The longer that this goes on the more likely it seems that whatever cities ISIS clusters up in will end up getting getting leveled, civilians and all. Once there’s nowhere to hide and human shields no longer work, being a part of ISIS will lose a lot of its luster.

  7. Germany’s Islamist scene growing: security chief

Berlin (AFP) – Germany’s domestic security chief warned Sunday that the country’s radical Islamist scene is not only growing, but becoming more decentralised, posing greater challenges to surveillance operations.

In an interview with national news agency DPA, Hans-Georg Maassen also defended security officials under fire after it emerged that Berlin truck attack suspect Anis Amri had slipped through their net, saying they had done everything they could.

Overall, the number of Salafists — or fundamentalist Sunni Muslims — in Germany has risen to more than 9,700, sharply up from 3,800 people in 2011, said Maassen.

“It’s of great concern to us that this scene is not only growing, but it is also very diversified. There is not just one, two, three or four people who have a say,” he warned.

“Rather, there are many people who dominate this Salafist scene. And all these people have to be watched.”

While in the past, there were a few people who wielded influence, today, there are many small clusters formed by individuals.

    • becoming more decentralised

This decentralized threat is much harder for the police to protect against, the obvious answer is to allow t he public as a whole to be armed to fight back. It is going to take a lot more dead Germans before the Marxists in Germany and the other European nations take this step.

  8. Germany’s Gabriel says EU break-up no longer unthinkable

Germany’s insistence on austerity in the euro zone has left Europe more divided than ever and a break-up of the European Union is no longer inconceivable, German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel told Der Spiegel magazine.

Gabriel, whose Social Democrats (SPD) are junior partner to Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservatives in her ruling grand coalition, said strenuous efforts by countries like France and Italy to reduce their fiscal deficits came with political risks.

“I once asked the chancellor, what would be more costly for Germany: for France to be allowed to have half a percentage point more deficit, or for Marine Le Pen to become president?” he said, referring to the leader of the far-right National Front.

  9. Ft. Lauderdale shooter: What’s the narrative when he has mental problems AND does jihadi stuff?
    By J.E. Dyer January 8, 2017

On Saturday, federal authorities filed charges against Esteban Santiago-Ruiz, 26, the shooter who killed 5 people and injured another 8 in a shooting rampage at the Fort Lauderdale airport on Friday, 6 January.

The multiple charges of capital murder could lead to the death penalty for Santiago. That seems to indicate that he is not being deemed mentally ill a priori – in spite of his visit to the FBI in Anchorage two months ago. Santiago left his newborn child alone in the car during that visit (well, alone except for the handgun he left in the car too. The gun was apparently unloaded; Santiago carried the ammunition clip into the FBI offices with him).

Santiago explained to agents that he was being ordered by the government to watch ISIS propaganda videos, along with doing other unspecified things for ISIS. He reported hearing voices, and was eventually turned over to local police for further handling. The police got him a psychiatric evaluation, and he spent a few days in a mental ward. But he was released quickly, and in December, when he went to get his gun back from the police, they reportedly had no reason to withhold it from him. Whatever was going on with his voices, and the illusion of government orders to do work for ISIS (not to mention several domestic violence incidents involving his girlfriend earlier in 2016; see NYT link), the mental health profession and law enforcement between them didn’t find that Santiago constituted a threat.

Fort Lauderdale Airport terrorist Esteban Santiago registered on MySpace under the name “Aashiq Hammad” and recorded Islamic religious music on the site, 3 years before he ever deployed to Iraq as a U.S. soldier, destroying the lying mainstream media’s narrative that he was just a mentally disturbed veteran and that “Islam had nothing to do with it.”

Santiago’s email addresses which were linked to his Myspace were obtained by Got News. They later revealed to be linked to a Myspace URL with the name ‘Aashiq Hammad’

  10. Basically she is point out the way the FBI office in Alaska, the local police and the mental health people failed to connect the obvious dots and help the man.

She also points out that searching the social media shows that he was interested in Islam and probably converted before his 2010 deployment to the Middle East. The fact that this isn’t being reported is a failure by the media.

    • “The fact that this isn’t being reported is a failure by the media.”

      Delibrrately by the media.

Once you have a system of controlling the press, you have the means of controlling the press.

      • Rather then concentrate on the failure of current laws and the people responsible for enforcing them the Propaganda Media wants to concentrate on creating more gun laws that will disarm the law abiding public when they need it the most. This shows where their priorities are and that their goal isn’t stopping the terror attacks but controlling the public as a whole.

  11. Seattle socialist using government resources to organize anti-Trump protests
By Joe Newby January 7, 2017

On Wednesday, the Daily Caller reported that Kshama Sawant, the avowed Socialist currently serving on the Seattle, Washington, city council, is using government resources (read, taxpayer-funded resources) to promote anti-Trump protests organized by the Socialist Alternative, an organization dedicated to ending the “global capitalist system.”

    According to the Daily Caller:

Councilmember Kshama Sawant posted an open letter to her “fellow activists” on the City of Seattle’s taxpayer-funded website, urging participation in anti-Trump “Occupy Inauguration” protests organized by the Socialist Alternative Seattle. More than 3,500 people have already committed to joining the protests, according to the event’s Facebook page.

“A right-wing anti-worker bigot has been elected President. Donald Trump’s cabinet is a who’s who of multi-billionaires with long records of hostility towards workers, the labor movement, women’s rights, and the planet,” Sawant charges in her letter, which was posted on New Years Eve. She goes on to urge visitors to the government website to engage in “resistance” to the president-elect.

“We cannot, as Hillary Clinton suggested, ‘give Trump a chance,’ or as Obama said, believe that ‘Trump’s success is our success.’ It is true that Trump does not have the mandate of the majority of Americans. But his election has emboldened the right wing, and we cannot be complacent,” the letter reads. “History demands that we immediately begin building mass peaceful resistance to Trump’s anti-worker, misogynist, anti-immigrant, and racist agenda.”

    • Not really that much different when I see the head of ATF’s Chicago office promoting more “Gun Control” to save ‘the children.’ Our employees and so-called “Public Servants” telling us what our laws should be under Cover of Law.

      • They are doing their best to ignore the last election and think things will return to normal soon.

  12. New excuse for ‘F**k Trump’ kidnap-torturers: They weren’t ‘truly trying to be criminal’
    By J.E. Dyer January 7, 2017

As noted by Howard Portnoy, CNN had its commentator on Tuesday creating an exception to the “hate crime” principle so that the enormities committed by the Chicago Four against a disabled man while they shouted ‘F**k Trump!” and “F**k white people!” could be talked away.

Now MSNBC weighs in. Our colleague Joe Newby and the Daily Caller picked up on the comments made by MSNBC correspondent Ron Mott during a discussion of the horrific attack, which reportedly went on for up to 48 hours, and was streamed live for part of the time on Facebook.

Mott stipulated that what the perps had done was, yeah, kidnapping, torture, breaking and entering, auto theft, and an attempt to collect ransom from the young victim’s parents.

“Well, you look at it on the surface and you think kids can make some really poor decisions from time to time,” Mott said. “But when you add in the criminal element here, the fact that they stole someone’s vehicle, the fact that they apparently broke into a house where this alleged attack took place, the fact that they, you know, physically harmed this young person, held him against his will and then apparently, you know, texted the parents demanding some sort of monetary exchange to send him home.”

    http://libertyunyielding.com/2017/01/07/new-excuse-fk-trump-kidnap-torturers-werent-truly-trying-criminal/

    • “This is why the whole category of hate crimes is such a bad idea, and why shifting our sentiments about crimes based on the races of the perps and victims never leads anywhere good. It is not possible to have a rule of law, and a government of laws and not of men (i.e., however those men and women happen to feel today), while trying to make excuses based on race ideology and the biased logic of “hate crimes.””

In his latest piece, Craddick presents frightening evidence of a massive ISIS network covering the USA. Let’s start with the conclusion:

Either the US government and current administration is so hopelessly incompetent that they are unable to detect domestic and foreign threats which are discoverable by investigative journalists and whistleblower organizations. Or, there are factions within the United States government who are seeking to prevent competent, well-intentioned members of the intelligence community, law enforcement, and legislative/regulatory branches from taking action against ISIS operatives and extremist recruits who are active both on the American border as well as in the United States.

  15. Texas Bathroom Bill May Ignite Battle, But Republicans Won’t Give In

On Thursday, Texas passed the Texas Privacy Act that requires the state’s residents to use the bathroom that corresponds with the gender on their birth certificate. It also prohibits local governments from passing ordinances in opposition regarding intimate settings.

“Specifically, the bill states that a “private entity that leases or contracts to use a building owned or leased by” a public entity “is not subject to a policy developed under” the bill. In addition, the bill says that the state and various localities “may not require or prohibit a private entity that leases or contracts to use a building owned or leased by” a public entity “from adopting a policy on the designation or use of bathroom or changing facilities located in the building,” writes USA Today.

Texas, which is the most conservative of the states, should expect similar backlash like North Carolina did for its bathroom law. However, politicians have made it clear that they are not going to back down and that it’s for the protection of the Texan residents.

“It’s the right thing to do,” said Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, a Houston Republican who quoted Martin Luther King Jr. in approval of the proposal. “The people of Texas elected us to stand up for common sense, common decency and public safety.”

  16. When “Peace” Means Capitulation to Islam

    by Giulio Meotti

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9726/peace-capitulation-islam

What inspired al-Qaeda to attack the United States, according to one of the terrorists, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM), who helped plan 9/11?

The American psychologist, James E. Mitchell, who crafted the interrogation program that helped stop terrorist attacks and saved countless lives after 9/11, just published a book, Enhanced Interrogation.

In it, KSM is quoted as saying that al-Qaeda expected the United States to respond to 9/11 as it had to the 1983 bombing of the US Marine barracks in Beirut — the United States “turned tail and ran.” In the end, KSM told Mitchell:

“We will win because Americans don’t realize… we do not need to defeat you militarily; we only need to fight long enough for you to defeat yourself by quitting. … Eventually, America will expose her neck for us to slaughter.”

That is exactly why Islamists are trying to hit the West’s soft underbelly: the office of the magazine, Charlie Hebdo, restaurants and theaters in Paris, a café in Copenhagen, a promenade in Nice, a church in Normandy and a Christmas market in Berlin. Islamists perfectly understand that the West’s most exposed flank is its home front. The same lifestyle that we defend by words is the main obstacle to the initiative of the defense against Islamists. Islamists have told us in every way, “we love death more than life”, while we in the West love the expectation of life more than life itself.

Anyone who has listened to statements of Osama bin Laden and ISIS’s Abu Bakr al Baghdadi knows that they showed a deep understanding of Europe’s situation by offering “a truce” to any country that would distance itself from the war on terror — or in other words, surrender. Through terror attacks, many jihadists are already proving able to decide the fate of many governments.

Compare what happened in two different countries after the 9/11 attacks.

    • One of President Reagan’s few mistakes was to allow Cap Weinberger to stop any retaliation to the Beirut Bombing, we could have and should have kicked the Iranians and Hezbollah very hard and extracted a price that would have stopped all of this BS once and for all. He didn’t and we are now paying the price.

In his defense we were facing off against the Soviet Union and he didn’t think the Islamic problem would grow this big.

    • Another treasonous parting shot at America by 0bama. It makes you wonder what the Saudis are promising him for this “catch & release” treachery.

  17. Turkey’s Lifestyle Massacre

    by Burak Bekdil
    January 8, 2017 at 4:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9731/turkey-lifestyle-massacre

Last year was no doubt an annus horribilis for Turkey. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that 1,178 people were killed between July 2015 and December 2016 in Turkey’s fight with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). Bomb attacks by the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed another 330 lives. Those numbers exclude 248 people who died during the bloody coup attempt of July 15, as well as 9,500 apparent PKK members who were killed by Turkish security forces. Turkey also claims that it killed 1,800 ISIS members since July 2015. These numbers put the total death toll in Turkey at 13,056, in a span of fewer than 17 months.

Just when most people thought that would be the final death toll for 2016, on December 10, a twin bombing in Istanbul outside a soccer stadium killed at least 38 people, and injured another 136. A week later, a suicide car-bomb in central Turkey killed 13 off-duty soldiers aboard a bus and wounded 56 more.

After so much bloodshed, Turks thought they could now enjoy New Year’s festivities in peace. They were wrong.

About an hour into the New Year, a mysterious man, later identified as a Kyrgyz ISIS terrorist, walked into Reina, a posh nightclub on the Bosporus, took out an assault rifle and started to shoot at the hundreds of guests celebrating the New Year. The assailant killed 39 people and injured 65, changed his clothes, and, pretending to be a customer, walked out of the club. As of January 8, the killer was still on the run.

  18. DAILY MAIL Belgian police missed numerous chances to unmask the ISIS terror cell before they carried out massacres in Paris and Brussels, says secret report

Jihadists murdered 130 in Paris in November 2015 and 32 in Brussels in March
Confidential report claims Belgian police missed chances to expose ISIS cell
Paris attacker was arrested months earlier but released after brief questioning
Another member of attack unit was using ISIS flag as social media profile picture

Belgian police missed multiple chances to unmask the ISIS terror cell before they carried out massacres in Paris and Brussels, a secret report has claimed.

Jihadists butchered 130 people in the French capital on November 2015 before extremists killed 32 in attacks on Brussels airport and Metro the following March.

A confidential report has revealed that police in Belgium had numerous opportunities to expose the terror network before they went on the rampage in the two capital cities.

The Wall Street Journal says it has seen a report by the Comite P watchdog agency which is looking into the work of Belgian police since the two massacres.

In one example, officers are said to have stopped a vehicle driven by one of the Paris attackers, Brahim Abdeslam – whose brother Salah was later captured – in 2015, and found him with a booklet about ‘parental consent for the Jihad’.

He was arrested for drug possession but, despite being on the terror watch list, was released after a short questioning.

Officers also failed to examine a USB drive concealed behind the car radio, the report claims, adding that an email address the suspect supplied s_****@ho*****.com, was fake – another detail that went unnoticed.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the report also reveals that the Abdeslam brothers were linked to other suspects while police did not follow up when Salah used a picture of the ISIS flag as his social media profile picture.

It comes just days after it was revealed that Belgium had prevented six attacks over the past two years, with the country still a prominent target for jihadist assaults.

In January 2015, Belgian police dismantled a cell in Verviers in the east of the country which was later seen as the rough beginnings of the jihadist group that attacked Paris in November that year.

That team of extremists used machine guns and suicide bombs to murder revellers at the Bataclan music venue, at bars and restaurants and outside the Stade de France stadium.

And on March 22, ISIS-linked attackers struck Brussels airport and the metro killing 32 people, despite the arrest in the Belgian capital only four days earlier of the last surviving jihadist from the Paris attacks, Salah Abdeslam.

Since that attack, Belgian police and intelligence services have seen a major increase in information, ‘up to 600 tips daily’, Jacobs said.

    • High velocity, large caliber, swift onset lead poisoning is one of the few answers.

It grieves me no end to declare that respectable and honorable Muslims like Zuhdi Jasser (whom I admire) are irrelevant! Not even the most decent of these people will alter the trajectory of barbic jihadists that are steering our world into a cataclysmic conflict.

Who owns the nukes? Who is eagerly demanding the worst sort of retaliation?

There is no happy ending for Islam. NEVER!

  19. How Edward Snowden Helped Terrorists Succeed
An investigative journalist explains how Edward Snowden’s leaks enabled an entire generation of terrorists to circumvent government intelligence.

In his latest book, investigative journalist and former Harvard professor Edward Jay Epstein analyses how Edward Snowden’s massive leaks regarding U.S. security enabled an entire generation of terrorists to circumvent government intelligence.

In How America Lost Its Secrets: Snowden, the Man and the Theft , which will be released this week, Epstein explains how terrorists, whom the government was once able to track down and stop, have taken Snowden’s advice on how to evade security services. To our detriment, they have been successful.

In an excerpt from the book published by Newsweek magazine, Epstein outlines exactly how government agencies operated before Snowden’s disclosures and how they now have been left bereft of many important tools.

    Specifically, Snowden exposed:

  20. EGYPT – Sheikh-bashing Egyptian film angers Muslim clerics

An Egyptian film that makes fun of conservative Muslim clerics and religious fanaticism has stirred controversy in the country due to its depictions of a corrupt religious establishment working with regime security agencies.

The Preacher – which hit cinemas this week – has dared to tackle sensitive religious issues, prompting an angry response from a senior Islamic cleric.

“Before this turns into a disaster we demand that this dissent is tackled and that [the film] is stopped from being shown,” Mansour Mandour, chief imam at the Ministry of Religious Endowments said in a Facebook post addressed to the country’s top Islamic figures.

“The film exposes imams to mockery, laughter and ridicule from anyone and everyone.”

Mandour later said in a phone interview with a local TV station that although he hadn’t watched the film he believed it “degraded the social status of preachers”.

An ultra-orthodox salafi group said on Friday that it had filed a lawsuit to ban the film from movie theatres.

“This film has no place in Egyptian cinemas,” said the leader of the Daffea Movement, Mohammad Ragab, adding that it had insulted al-Azhar – Egypt’s top Islamic authority.

The plot of the film revolves around a celebrity TV preacher who is entrusted with trying to dissuade a relative of the president from converting to Christianity.

It includes scenes of a bombing of a church by a militant, just weeks after a blast killed 27 people in a real-life church attack in Cairo.

The movie is based on controversial TV journalist-novelist Ibrahim Essa’s bestselling book Mawlana, which appeared in English translation last year under the title The Televangelist.

The film’s director, Magdy Ahmed Ali, told The New Arab that he had been scared of the reaction The Preacher might provoke but that he took a chance as he wanted to deliver a powerful message to audiences.

“The goal of the film is actually to challenge the critics of my religion and the Islamophobic rhetoric that tries to make Islam look like a religion of terrorism and violence,” Ali said.

The film’s leading actor, Amr Saad, who studied Quranic recital for seven months for the role, said that The Preacher’s main message was that there is a serious need for an update to religious discourse.

Freedom activists have accused Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of running an authoritarian regime that has suppressed freedom of speech since toppling Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in 2013.

Several high profile media personalities have recently been jailed under controversial “contempt of religion” laws.

This week, the author of the book that inspired the film had his TV talk show taken off the air amid accusations that authorities pulled the programme for being excessively critical of Sisi.

    • “The goal of the film is actually to challenge the critics of my religion and the Islamophobic rhetoric that tries to make Islam look like a religion of terrorism and violence,” Ali said.

It isn’t Islamophobic rhetoric that makes Islam look like a religion of terrorism and violence, it is Islamic terrorism and violence with no Moslem speaking up and condemning the terrorism and violence.

    • In a new video purportedly broadcast by the Islamic State, ISIS savages show life under the caliphate and three executions of “apostates” and in “Wilayat al-Khayr,” Syria.

In the video, ISIS terrorists show Cubs of the caliphate, including a toddler, executing three “apostates” (reportedly PKK militants) in Syria

The video opens by showing the destruction caused by the current war in Syria by showcasing abandoned playgrounds and destroyed buildings.

Next up is footage of ISIS terrorists firing weapons from a roof top, clearing rooms and moving from building to building.

Now the video shows an ISIS terrorist giving a speech after the urban combat footage is finished.

The next part of the video is a montage of statistics and ISIS terrorists before it focuses on a child soldier (“cub”).

The video shows his life under the so-called Caliphate mixed in with battle footage and speeches.

Next up are interviews with three prisoners before a child is shown brutally beheading one of them in an abandoned amusement park.

After the first execution, a toddler is shown executing another prisoner with a handgun.

The video ends with the beheading execution of a final prisoner by another “cub” of the Caliphate.

This video was released to ISIS terrorist channels on January 8, 2017 by the Khayr propaganda arm.

    http://www.dw.com/en/german-minister-accuses-social-democrats-of-failing-to-cooperate-over-security/a-37053291

“As Germany looks towards a new security structure, Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere has raised doubts over cooperation in the “grand coalition.” Current measures have been scrutinized since the Berlin terror attack.

German Interior Minister and Christian Democrat Thomas de Maiziere, has accused the CDU’s Social Democrat (SPD) coalition partners of failing to cooperate when it comes to security and terrorism.

In an interview with German weekly, “Bild am Sonntag,” de Maiziere said he was not sure whether “everyone in the SPD is ready to take tough measures.”

“We could be much farther ahead,” de Maziere added. “Especially regarding the concrete improvement of deportation possibilities.”

SPD General Secretary Katarina Barley, however, said de Maiziere’s criticism of her party was only to “distract from his own failures.” She added that the interior minister had not been able to master the situation at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, which had allowed suspected Berlin Christmas market attacker Anis Amri to travel in Germany under 14 different aliases.

“Tougher laws would not have prevented a terror attack ahead of time and knee-jerk calls for tightening them now will do just as little,” she said…”

  23. Swedish Soldiers of Odin group involved in ‘extremist’ clashes (thelocal, Jan 8, 2017)
    http://www.thelocal.se/20170108/twelve-arrested-after-swedish-extremist-groups-clash

“Brawling between Soldiers of Odin and a left-wing group in the town of Jönköping on Saturday night resulted in a string of arrests.

Twelve people have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault.

The incident took place after right-wing extremist group Soldiers of Odin informed police Saturday evening that they would be patrolling through the town, reports news agency TT.

Soldiers of Odin, founded by Finnish Nazi Mika Ranta, has also conducted patrols in Uppsala, Gothenburg and Stockholm.

Several of its Swedish members have been convicted of serious crimes and Nazi sympathies, according to an investigation by Expo magazine.

Around 1:30am on Sunday morning, police received a number of reports of fighting between two groups in central Jönköping.

Between 15 and 50 people were involved in the fighting, according to the police, with a number of these armed with various types of weapons.

Twelve people were apprehended as a result of the violence and later arrested on suspicion of assault, Robin Simonsson of the Public Prosecution (Åklagarmyndigheten) press department told TT.

The fight was between members of Soldiers of Odin and left-wing extremist group AFA, according to the police.

“The left-wing movement in Jönköping has grown and this has made it more interesting for their opponents to be here. For some reason, they want to be in the same place,” said Lars-Göran Nilseryd, duty officer with Region East (region Öst) Police, to TT.

Information on social media suggests the fighting may have been prearranged, although police were unable to confirm this.

“We received information that Soldiers of Odin were going to patrol the town earlier in the evening, how we got that information I’m unable to say,” said Nilseryd.”

  24. 68 killed in battles near Yemen’s strategic strait (ahram, Jan 8, 2017)
    http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/2/8/254693/World/Region/-killed-in-battles-near-Yemens-strategic-strait.aspx

“At least 68 fighters have been killed in two days of fierce battles between Yemeni forces and Shiite Huthi rebels near the strategic Bab al-Mandab strait, military officials said Sunday.

Government forces launched an assault Saturday, recapturing the coastal Dhubab district, just 30 kilometres (20 miles) north of Bab al-Mandab which links the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean.

Since then at least 55 Huthis have been killed in fighting and 72 others wounded, military and medical sources said.

Clashes since Saturday have also killed 13 loyalists forces, including an army general, Brigadier-General Abdul Aziz al-Majidi, a loyalist commander, told AFP.

They said fighting was still underway Sunday as loyalist forces were trying to retake from the rebels a key military base in the Dhubab region.

Al-Omari base is located in a mountainous region that overlooks the coastal road linking Bab al-Mandab region to Dhubab, and opens the way to rebel-held Hudaida port on the Red Sea.

The Huthis, and allied fighters, on Sunday fired two ballistic missiles that were intercepted by the Saudi-led coalition that backs the Yemen government, a loyalist military source said.

Landmines planted by the rebels had slowed down the advance of government forces, military officials said.

The government and its allies in the Saudi-led coalition recaptured Bab al-Mandab strait in October 2015, pushing the Iran-backed rebels further north.

But the rebels still control nearly all of Yemen’s Red Sea coast to the north, posing what the coalition says is a threat to international shipping…”

  25. Leftist social media activists vanish in Pakistan: NGO, relatives (gulfnews, Jan 8, 2017)
    http://gulfnews.com/news/asia/pakistan/leftist-social-media-activists-vanish-in-pakistan-ngo-relatives-1.1958630

“At least four Pakistani activists known on social media for their secular leftist views went missing last week, relatives and non-government organisation (NGO) workers said yesterday, as analysts voiced rights concerns.

Two of the men — Waqas Goraya and Asim Saeed — disappeared on January 4, according to a cybersecurity NGO, while Salman Haider vanished on Friday and Ahmad Raza Naseer on Saturday, relatives said.

The interior ministry has said it will investigate the disappearance of Haider, a Dawn newspaper blogger known for his outspoken views on enforced disappearances in the southwestern province of Balochistan, but made no reference to the others.

All four were active on social media groups, promoting leftist, secular views, often against the military or conservative state.

Pakistan is routinely ranked among the world’s most dangerous for journalists, and reporting critical of the military is considered a major red flag, with journalists at times detained, beaten and even killed…”

  26. Fake ‘Fake News’: Media Sow Division with Dishonest Attack on Breitbart’s ‘Allahu Akbar’ Church Fire Story (breitbart, Jan 8, 2017)

“The German press, together with establishment politicians, Germany’s police, and left-wing international news agencies have railed against Breitbart London’s reporting of an 1,000-strong crowd, many of whom were chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’, and firing fireworks at one of the oldest churches in Dortmund on New Year’s Eve.

The headlines — which lean on the establishment media’s new “fake news” trope — fail to reflect that reporting from some of the very same outlets now blasting Breitbart News confirmed almost every substantive fact about the Breitbart London report on the issue: there were 1,000, mostly male, mostly non-native German people gathered in the Leeds Square; there were repeated chants of “Allahu Akbar”; the ‘Free Syrian Army’ flag was flown; and there was a fire at the St. Reinold’s Church caused by the fireworks. The only correction Breitbart London is happy to make is the age of the church, which does not constitute a substantive error in our reporting…”

  27. Czech Republic May Become Next Target of Terrorists – President (sputniknews, Jan 8, 2017)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201701081049379145-terrorists-czech-president-target/

“The Czech Republic may become the next target of terrorists, the country’s president, Milos Zeman, said Sunday.

PRAGUE (Sputnik) — According to Zeman, the country’s intelligence services provide a lot of information about such possibility making security measures hard to discount.

“Yes, naturally, we are the next,” Zeman said, as broadcast by local TV Blesk, answering a question concerning possible terrorist attacks in the Czech Republic. “I personally had reinforced Prague Castle even before Berlin attack,” Zeman said. The Czech authorities installed walk-through metal detectors at the entrance to the Prague castle which is the official residence of the Czech president in August 2016.”

  28. Buddhist hardliners stop Myanmar Muslim ceremony

Hardline Buddhist nationalists stopped a Muslim religious ceremony in Yangon on Sunday, witnesses and organisers said, as Islamophobic tensions boil over amid a bloody military campaign against Rohingya in northern Rakhine state.

Dozens of people, led by a handful of maroon-robed monks, marched to the YMCA in Myanmar’s commercial capital to shut down a service marking the Prophet Mohammed’s birthday.

“We have celebrated this festival for my whole life. Now this seems like an attack on freedom of religion,” Kyaw Nyein, secretary of the Ulama Islam organisation, told AFP.

“The monks tried to stop the ceremony without saying what we had done wrong… Why aren’t authorities taking action?”

Witnesses, who asked not to be named, said the monks barged into the ceremony shortly after it started demanding it be shut down.

Police were called, but did not intervene to stop the hardliners.

Tin Maung Win, vice president of the festival organising committee, said Buddhist nationalists were trying to stir up political dissent against the NLD government led by Aung San Suu Kyi.

He said the religious extremists supported the military-backed USDP party and see the new elected government, which took power last year after winning the first free election in some 50 years, as being too soft on Muslims.

“We held the festival here for seven years without any violence, but today it happened. This is because of political interests,” he told AFP.

Long-simmering lslamophobic sentiment has been on the rise in Myanmar since deadly communal violence erupted between Buddhists and Rohingya Muslims in western Rakhine state in 2012.

In recent years Buddhist hardliners have sought to restrict Muslim worship, destroying mosques and trying to ban ceremonies such as the ritual slaughter of cattle during the festival of Eid al-Adha.

Tensions have boiled over since attacks on police posts along the Bangladesh border in October, which the government has blamed on Rohingya insurgents led by foreign fighters and backed by Middle Eastern money.

Until the recent fighting, the Rohingya had generally eschewed political violence despite decades of persecution.

Dozens have died in the ensuing military crackdown, sending some 50,000 Rohingya fleeing to Bangladesh telling stories of rape, murder and arson at the hands of Myanmar security forces that activists say could amount to crimes against humanity.

  29. Related to the Ft. Lauderdale shooter story:
Not much has been revealed about the mother of this shooter’s child, despite reports of multiple events involving domestic violence.

Sounds a lot like a relationship which was sanctioned by religious authorities in which any domestic dispute is automatically referred to shariah court (if there is one associated with the only mosque in Alaska-which just happened to be within walking distance to his address)

Note the photo reveals the hijab’d woman in the photo, one Heather Robertson Barbour just happens to have a culturally American identity & suggests Anchorage is tolerant to Islam and just coincidentally, and conveniently happens to be an IMMIGRATION ATTORNEY in Anchorage.

Perhaps the identity of the girlfriend/wife would reveal a sort of ‘mail order’ bride – one accustomed to the cultural/doctrinal mistreatment of women in Islam—-which would present a most unfortunate detail negatively impacting the prevailing ‘mental illness’ narrative?
